If there were a negative 5-star option, that's exactly what this location of Mountain Mike's would be getting from me. This is not my first time ordering from this store, but it will absolutely be my last. The photo speaks for itself: when we opened the delivery box, there was an entire slice of pizza missing. Not "shifted." Not "cut weird." A slice was plainly missing. Anyone with functioning eyesight can see that immediately. At first, I honestly laughed because I thought surely this would be handled reasonably. I called and asked to speak with a manager. A woman answered, listened briefly, then put someone else on the phone. I explained that the delivery driver handed the pizza directly to my husband, and the second we opened the box, we noticed the missing slice. The response I received was beyond insulting. I was told the manager herself delivered the pizza, so she "would never do that." Then came the explanation that because the pizza had "so many toppings," the pizza somehow "shrunk," making it appear as though a slice was missing. Let that sink in. When I asked whether I was speaking to the manager, I was told no -- this employee was simply translating what the manager wanted her to say because the manager does not speak English. That alone is not the issue. The issue is the complete refusal to handle a customer concern professionally. I even offered to continue the conversation through email so I could send photos and they could use Google Translate if needed. Instead, I was flatly told no, that they already explained why the pizza "looked" like a slice was missing, and they were standing by that explanation. I have ordered hundreds of pizzas from countless restaurants over the years. Never -- not once -- have I opened a pizza box to find something that looked this ridiculous. What infuriates me most is not even the missing slice. It's the fact that I was spoken to as if I were an idiot who would believe a pizza magically shrank itself into missing a piece. I almost never leave completely negative reviews. I usually prefer speaking directly with management because mistakes happen, and most businesses at least attempt to make things right. But this was genuinely one of the most absurd and unprofessional customer service experiences I've ever had. The level of incompetence, denial, and disrespect shown here is astonishing. You didn't just lose one order. You permanently lost a customer. read more

Holy cow! This place is a lesson in how to drive out customers so they don't maximize (or even fully utilize) the salad and pizza bars! Seven TVs all turned up (to max?) plus wailing music at (max?) through overhead speakers. Midday on a weekday. Not many people here (only me at first, then a couple other tables before I was driven out by the caucophony! Salad bar was fresh and ample. Staff was friendly. Pizza was fine (no great shakes). Go ahead and stop in for eats, but bring your ear protection, and don't expect to be able to have a conversation with your company. read more

The pizzas are pretty good, if you skip the pepperoni. I love pepperoni, but they need to peel the casing off of it before slicing. Unless they're getting it already sliced, in which case they should switch vendors. I didn't enjoy pulling a piece of plastic from around the edge every time I bit into a piece of pepperoni. I finally resorted to peeling it off each piece before eating, which took more time than it was probably worth. I'll skip the pepperoni next time, and try the salami. read more

The franchise owners have zero concern for your information or data. When using an ATM card, they demanded to see the front & back of your CC and your state ID. That provides : first name, last name, middle name, address, birth date, credit card #, expiration, 3 digital CC security #, CC expiration, plus if you called in the order, your contact phone number. With that, it is easy to run up a few thousand in charges. If someone knows their ATM PIN, there is no reason to be so invasive. read more

Absolutely our go to for pizza every now and then . The dough is so tasty! The customer service from the two young gals up at the register are always in a positive mood and friendly . There's always a lot of customers there however it always feels nice coming back to our regular place . They take our order so clear and we enjoy coming back to this location and always will as long as they have this place up . I will not be returning to this business again. Upon entering the cashier informed us that we needed to wear masks, to which we responded the mandate was lifted it's no longer required. The cashier continues to say no mask no service, and wasn't going to help us until we complied. My husband asked if they provided them, we were handed 2 masks and the cashier takes our order. While waiting for our pizza, we counted 3 customers that the same cashier helped, WITHOUT masks. Didn't even enforce them to comply. Aside from all of this, people who ordered AFTER we did were getting their orders before we were. If you're going to enforce a rule, you need to make it for everyone! Having been coming here for years to support our community but today was the ultimate worst customer service ever!!!!!! When our kids came to join our party @ 815p they were told they needed to eat their pizza outside (mind you it's 36 degrees) I had to tell them it was my kids. It was the Condors last basketball and soccer game and both teams had no where in Our community to grab a bite to eat together without being turned away. When other parents from the community joined at 830 they were refused service even though they said they close at 9. The rude boy at the register informed us that he needed to get home and had a long drive so to eat fast. As we we're leaving at 925 we were told in the rudest manner next time make sure to check the schedule so we are gone by 9 and to make sure to call if we are planning to be there late. What happen to customer service? If you need to be out by a certain time then stop taking orders, don't take our money then decide to be rude because you want to get home. What happen to our community there is no where these kids can go, we definitely will not be gathering here any longer. So sad that no one wants to work anymore, I get that everywhere is understaffed but that does not give the staff a right to be rude. The only good thing about this place is that it is nearby, but every time we place an order there is an issue. Most of the time the pizza if not cooked all the way and the lack of toppings on an order that was close to $80 is insane. Ordered a pizza for delivery at 6:30, was told an hour. At 7:55 called was hung up on called back was told it should be delivered any minute, 20 min later still not there. Called to cancel and told them to refund. All together was 2 hours and no pizza. Had the nerve to ask if we wanted them to make it when we went in to get our refund. Years ago when this place opened in Prunedale we were so excited. And for a couple of years it was pretty good...not the best Mountain Mike's we have ever had, but still very good. Before covid started, they were constantly out of things, and to get something delivered in a descent time frame with everything we ordered was nearly impossible. The saddest part was no one ever apologized. That goes a long way. This past Friday we had some of our kids and grandkids come to visit so we decided to take them all to pizza. Instead of driving into Salinas, we decided to give the prunedale location another try. The store was not super clean, the pizza was adequate but the real issue was our son got the all you can eat salad bar and they had no forks. None! After looking for a long time someone finally went to Safeway to get plastic forks. He had already eaten most of his salad with his fingers. The pizza was almost gone by the time he got a fork. The girl working was rude about it and not one apology. So needless to say...we really are done with this location. read more

One star. After 33 yrs of buying food from here last night, as well as a previous horrible experience a few months back inside the restaurant, I am over spending money here. The salad I ordered to be delivered was a container of lettuce, 2 croutons, 2 cucumbers, 3 carrots, and 3 baby corn. The pizza was mediocre as usual. The worst was a few months ago when I took my dad to eat inside the restaurant. There was a sports thing going on where 40 kids had a literal mosh pit happening in the middle of the restaurant while their worthless parents completely ignored them hitting and slapping each other with sticky hands they bought from a prize machine. I waded and tripped through these dumb kids with my salad and drink in hand. I was worried my elderly dad would fall over a kid as he got his drink. Not one parent did anything to stop the kids and not one employee or manager of this placed addressed the chaos. I came here after soccer games as a kid and was NEVER allowed to trash a restaurant. The management needs to kick these pos out but that will never happen. I'll never come here again. read more

Good pizza- AWFUL people skills and customer service. Went there last week and ordered online before pick up. We arrived for pick up and went to the counter and there was an employee checking out for the night and he said "someone will come help you." Ok cool- no big deal right? Until the girl that "came to help us" comes up doesn't even look at us or say one word to us. She completely ignored us though we were two feet from her. Typically someone says "I'll be right with you" or "thanks for waiting.." etc... we've been here multiple times and seems they hire high school kids with no adult interaction experience and lack of respect. At one point (about 5 whole minutes of standing in front of her and him) I asked the young man who was initially at the counter "should we go sit down and wait?" And he said "no it's ok she will help you". SHE continued tapping the screen aggressively and taking care of employee 1. I get it- we all have stuff to do but seriously? A SIMPLE acknowledgement can potentially go a LONG WAY! The pizza is ALWAYS good. Sundried tomatoes and regular tomatoes are different and maybe someone just read it wrong that night. POINT IS-- Ten years ago things were so different and customer service was on a completely higher level than how it is now. First when entering, the girl at the counter did not have a friendly face, second she was letting you know if you are there after 8pm that they close at 9pm. Mind you, we got there at 815pm. Yet, she still took our money and let us order our pizzas and beer. We where there to celebrate my nieces senior night and nephews last soccer game and went there to our local family establishment to enjoy a bite to eat with family and the kids. The whole time we we're sitting and eating, the kitchen staff was throwing things around in the back and making it very uncomfortable for everyone with our party. What happened to customer service?! We wanted to have dinner with family to celebrate our daughters senior night, we arrived at 8:15 and were told they need to be out at 9:00 since two of the employees live in Los Banos. Very unprofessional! We placed our order since we already had family arriving. They told the young men (teenage boys) in our group they had to eat outside. It was at least 30 degrees last night. When the rest of our family arrived they went to buy cups and they were told they cannot join our party and refused them service. They left naturally feeling insulted. The staff in the kitchen were slamming pots and pans, making it clear they wanted us to leave. Mind you this is all before 9:00 pm. As we were exiting the young lady gave us an attitude stating next time we need to check their hours before coming. Believe me there won't be a next time. She slammed and locked the doors behind us, saying rude remarks under her breath and giving us dirty looks. It's a shame that employees feel so entitled now a days, losing business for the business owner because they have a commute home. I called in a delivery order the guy on the phone tried taking the order clearly it wasn't going well he didn't understand what I was trying to order then he asked three times if this was delivery and two times for my address. I had to ask so are you new or I bet you are the manager he piped up yes yes I am the manager. Clearly he was the manager because so far the experience wasn't so great. Then the magical moment came when he told me my total which was almost $40and I said oh wait I have a coupon he says ma'am this is the charge for the pizza here is deliver and if you don't have coupon this is price I am like but I have a coupon 20.99 for large speciality he says ma'am do you really have a coupon yes we eat here once a week we get coupons every week. He then tells me that if I really don't have a coupon he is going to be forced to charge his driver the $5 because I don't have coupon I'm like of course I have a coupon why would I read it to you and why are you threatening me and your driver? He then wanted my credit card number I tried a couple of times to read it to him and he just couldn't get it. So I cancelled the order. I didn't feel comfortable giving this guy my credit card and I certainly didn't feel as though I wanted to order something from a place where the policy is to question their repeat customers and to threaten them and his own employees. I am not sure when it became ok to take money from you drivers because a customer didn't have a coupon. I sure hope the parents of these young adults are standing up for their kids and telling them their managers cannot steal their money. So all said and done the experience was horrible because of the manager. Every other time the service has been perfect and the food is amazing. I love that they have Stella Artois on tap, only 3.75 a pint and their salad bar is looking a little better, still wish they'd sever better lettuce or greens, not just iceberg. We've eaten here at least 3 times in the last month and have had a great experience each time. There are automatic discounts on weekdays, and also birthday specials. Got delivery last week and that worked well too. Staff and friendly and helpful. Pizza ingredients are high-quality and fresh, and pizzas are well-made. Good pizza and fair pricing. We've never had to wait too long in the restaurant, and delivery can get a long wait time, but the drivers are friendly and we don't have to go pick it up.
