The wait staff are some of the best around. So friendly and on top of everything. My husband had a pastrami sandwich and said the sauce on it was really good and different. OMG! If you're in Oakhurst this place is a MUST!! The food is AMAZING!! I ordered the Farmers Benedict and the Gravy was to die for! The Service is GOLD! And the ambiance is a mix of locals and visitors like us. I loved how welcoming the staff is and how the locals know them by name! Fidel let us try the Pozole and that was incredible. We had a delicious dinner with excellent service and friendly atmosphere. Chris, our waiter was very attentive and positive. I had the fish and chips that were so good and plentiful. The fish was fresh and flaky and the fries were delicious. My wife had the tri tip dinner and the portion was so large she couldn't eat but about half the meal. This quaint Mountain themed restaurant about 30 min south of the entrance to Yosemite National Park is worth checking out. We stopped in, after leaving Yosemite, for lunch. The menu is well stocked as are the daily specials. I had the Chicken Tortilla soup to start and the Open-faced Prime Rib for my entree. Both were awesome! Perfect way to end our stay at oak hurst! Definitely recommend grabbing some breakfast and lunch here their pancakes and ham were delicious, the New York steak was perfectly cooked and their cheeseburger was also cooked to perfection everything was tasty and the customer service was excellent! The owner of the restaurant was helping his staff wait tables and was striking up conversation with all his customers. We appreciate him checking in on us he was such a great guy! We were shopping in Oakhurst and asked a local where the best restaurants were. Mountain Oaks Cafe was on the top of the list. The menu is broad and the food is delicious. Prices were average, but the portions were huge! We ordered off the senior menu and still received full plates. All of the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Valentine, our main waiter, was very friendly and even offered a taste of the menudo to meet our approval. Perfect! We highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. read more

This place is a solid 3 star restaurant nothing here wowed me. I ordered the Chilaquiles and it was pretty basic my son had the pancakes and he enjoyed them. The portion size was generous which was nice. Staff was super friendly and our food came out quick. I don't think I'll come back again but go have your own experience. read more

Came in for breakfast. Had the basics, hash brown, toast and eggs. My husband had some pancakes, and the kids had French toast. I really am not one to make a big deal about services, products, and foods, and u can see it in my reviews but I have to say, everything was basic, nothing to rave about, other than the service. Waitress was nice and friendly, tho she forgot to put fruit on the French toast as my daughter requested, and we didn't want to bother. I'd say breakfast was about the same as Dennys. Wish the hash brown had more life to it, like crispy on outside and perfect from within, but mostly was on the softer side. My husband didn't care for the pancakes, he said Norms pancakes are better, he didn't finish his breakfast. First thing to worry about having a nice breakfast is easy parking, from my experience it was as convenient as it could be. Traveling through California had me hungry and couldn't wait to have a tasty plate of food in front of me. After a generous wait, we were seated for a 6 person party. Once I finished carefully selecting what I wanted to eat (for being a picky eater) my order was placed quite pleasantly. They have a huge menu. Everything you wish that makes it hard to know what's their specialty. :) We have been traveling for over two weeks and my husband felt like ordering a rib eye steak. Wrong choice. It was terrible. Not sure what kind of meat they used. My little one order chicken nuggets they were ok made with like ground chicken.
