Worst. Restaurant. Ever. Where to begin- the time we ordered a veggie omelette and asked no cauliflower as we'd done before, and the server replied that is not an option. Why? It's all frozen veggies in a bag, "I guess we can pick them out for you, it will cost extra". Prior (better) servers just took the order and didn't share that lovely tidbit. Ooh- the time we walked in and watched the super sick cook swipe their arm across their snotty face while making food- that one sent me right back out the door not to return for over 5 years. When we did, we watched the (same) horrid server completely ignore a family until they left, server then says "we didn't think folks like that would like it here" yeah, folks with darker skin? The fact that they felt so comfortable sharing their bigotry with the rest of the restaurant says a lot. Total anti- mask (and anti- hand washing apparently according to the health department), overheard plenty of insults (about their own customers) making that clear. The owner responses to negative reviews here are completely laughable, that same canker of a waitress works there after years of complaints, they really don't care. read more

We wanted to find a good breakfast along our route via Hwy 2 and this exceed exceeded our expectations. It's as if they we're expecting us as the hostess/waitress immediately sat us at a comfortable booth, served great hot coffee, and the breakfasts were delicious (and healthy portions)! Stopped in here after a LONG day at work and tired from the road with a coworker of mine for some much needed dinner. It was packed to the gills on a Saturday night, and the lady handling everything out front told us it would be a while if we wanted a table, but the counter was wide open if we would like to sit there. The counter it is! I personally love sitting at the counter at a diner since I usually am eating alone when I go out. I was immediately impressed by their menu! It takes a lot to make me as indecisive as this menu made me! So many amazing options! An old weakness of mine immediately caught my eye, though. Mushroom Swiss burger! Still, it took me several minutes to even make up my mind. The lone server out front was HUSTLING! Kudos to her, she's a trooper! She was handling the entire front of house pretty much on her own with what appeared to be a trainee helping to do some cleaning and light prep and occasional seating, but it was basically the one battle tested server out front taking orders and slinging dishes like a true pro. Still, it didn't take her long to take our orders. My colleague went with the chilli in a bread bowl with a side of fried zucchini spears, and I went with the mushroom Swiss burger with fries. I WAS happy to see that options for sides included soup or salad, as well. Being at the counter, we were also able to see into the kitchen, and the cook was working super hard as well. He was getting those orders out pretty quick, and the server was right there to whisk them away to their respective tables. Rest assured if you decide to stop by here, your food isn't going to be languishing under a heat lamp. After a short wait, our food came out. I was immediately impressed by the amount of fries that came with my burger! And their fries were fantastic! The amount of lettuce, onion, and tomato that came with my burger was also impressive; they're not skimping at all on the veggies here! The burger patties here are a third of a pound, I had seen that mentioned on the menu. Before even ordering I had seen someone else's burger come out of the kitchen and noted to my colleague how huge it was! Well, anyone can pile on the meat, but how does it taste? Cue my best Samuel L. Jackson impression because that IS a TASTY burger! Perfectly sautéed mushrooms, melty Swiss, perfect temperature not too well done but no rawness in the patty, and PERFECT amount of juiciness. Not a mess, but you get the juicy flavor. I had noted before ordering that the prices seemed to be a pretty good value. After seeing just how much food I got, just how GREAT it was, the prompt and friendly service, and then seeing my bill, I will shout from the rooftops (or mountain tops, as the case may be) that at the very least their burgers are a killer value. To say that this lovely local diner impressed me would be the understatement of the year! I pass by this area every now and then for work, so when the opportunity arises, I will try to stop in and have a bite. You guys knocked it outta the park and really helped a few road weary guys slay our hunger! Oh yeah, my colleague REALLY liked the bread bowl Chilli and zucchini spears. I have been coming here since I was a young child. I have always been a fan of their food, particularly the breakfast. Today I got the mountain hash and it did not disappoint. This place is usually quite busy and the staff try their hardest. Sometimes service can be slow but that is when they seem to be short and the place is packed, I try to keep that in mind when I stop here. They have a fresh pies in house on display for those wanting a sweet tooth. read more

Come here for the service. After a long day of hiking, we were craving a beer and a burger. We got seated and given menus. At first I assumed this place was gonna be a mom and paps diner experience. But oh was I so wrong. The inside is pretty lackluster. White tile. And bar seats. But as I looked closer, this place was decorated with unique pnw nick nacs. In the middle of the restaurant is a spin style cold case filled with eye popping deliciousness. Pies, mousse, crumbles galore. I ordered the veggie pattie burger with onion rings. With no goop. (goop is Mayo, ketchup and relish). The food was pretty good. Great onion rings. Decent side salads. But I was blown away by the service. The service that the team there was giving us was life. Our wait staff was super friendly. Always made sure we had everything we need. Coming around at the perfect times, ensuring our beer was always there. She came back around, asked how my veggie burger was, acknowledging that I had ordered something completely different. She answered all. Our complicated questions and even suggested many things of her own. She saw us eyeballing the amazing pies in the case and suggested many things from it. Even the other wait staff came around our table to check on us. Who does that!? I can say I've never been serviced like that anywhere in my dining experience. As we were checking out, she genuinely said thank you and told us to be safe! As we walked out, she waved bye! It truly made us feel welcomed. Like a mom and paps shop should. I loved it. Came here on Mother's Day after an exhausting hike after a friend recommended it. Honestly we should've read the yelp reviews and went to the other 4 star restaurants nearby! Got seated fairly quickly but didn't get menus or water for about 10 minutes, then the food took another good 20-30 minutes (felt like forever since we were starving!). We asked a couple teens in the booth next to ours what they recommend and they said burgers but since I don't really like burgers, I got the steak sandwich (big mistake), while my boyfriend got the Bigfoot burger, his dad got the country fried steak, and mom just got a classic burger. Two of us got the barely soup since our waiter recommended it but it was so salty that I couldn't even try to eat more than 3 spoonfuls. Food finally came and my disappointment grew as my steak sandwich was literally a tough piece of steak half the size of my hand, in between 2 pieces of bread with 2 onion rings on top and a side of pickles- no sauce, no seasoning. I have never been so disappointed at a diner until now. I tried to flag down someone to ask for A1 sauce to try and make the "sandwich" somewhat edible but we ended up having to walk to the front counter and serving ourselves. Everyone seemed to be able to eat their food and I ended up eating half of my boyfriend's Bigfoot burger after only taking a bite out of the steak sandwich. The only reason why there are two stars is because the dessert was fantastic. I'm glad I was able to try some or else I would've gone home more disappointed than I already am. We got a slice of warm blackberry cobbler a la mode and a slice of pecan pie to all share. Blackberry cobbler was to die for when the berries were warm with the ice cream and the pecan pie was sweet, but not enough to cause a cavity. IF I ever for some odd reason, come back, it'll only be for dessert. Most people in the diner seemed like locals so I recommend going to one of the other well rated restaurants nearby. read more

The service is always friendly, the servers are attentive and the food is incredible. We live 45 minutes away and would drive out here for nothing else but breakfast or lunch. Cute diner out near the mountains. There is a glass case with rotating pies in the middle of floor that look oh so good. My friends and I were initially drawn in by the barbeque advertisements. I am actually not a huge fan of barbeque so I opted for something else, fried chicken! The fried chicken dinner came with soup, toast, and choice of potatoes (baked, mashed, hash browns). The soup was something like vegetable beef (not sure if there was beef) but the soup was good! And sadly probably the best part of my meal. The fried chicken had gravy on it, but I noticed something wrong immediately when served: the white gravy was already DRIED OUT on the top, which means that it had been sitting out for awhile. NO GOOD. To make matters worse, the gravy did not have all that much flavor! That was such a shame, because good gravy can make a world of a difference. The chicken itself was breaded and fried, and it was okay. Once again, I think it needed more salt/flavor. The hash browns were plentiful and not bad. I could definitely taste the butter though. I also ate my friend's cornbread muffin. It was good, slightly sweet and had good texture. My friends who had the barbeque ribs and chicken leg quarter, thought they were okay. I tried a some rib meat and thought the same thing they did. My friends noted that they did the hard part right, which was cooking the meat enough so that it was cooked but not dry. Old time dinner. We walked in and saw the sign that said seat yourself. Just beyond was a glass tower of fresh pies. If you want gluten free or organic health food keep driving. They serve great Ruben Sandwiches as well as 1/3 pound burger and patty melts. The shakes are old style hand scooped and delicious. The service was very good. This is a diner. Therefore, you don't stop at a diner for champagne and a 5-star menu. With this assumption, this diner delivers. I had a grilled cheese and fries. The grilled cheese was buttery and cheesy without being greasy, and it was served hot (think melting ooey gooey cheese). The fries were served hot as well. The best part of the meal by far was the dessert. I had a piece of pecan pie, and it was excellent. I had it slightly warmed, and it was great. The crust was obviously homemade and flaky. My only complaint was the wait staff. We didn't need much, but if we had it would have been impossible to get her attention. The place was busy, however, and she has several tables on her own. Friendly great service. Proportions that you always want and don't receive. Food was expected and good too. Had bacon and eggs. I'm gouten intolerant and they had sour dough which worked out perfectly. They only need change from half and half to non-dairy creamer plain and favored creamers for others like me to have met all my needs. Ordered bacon and eggs, with hasbrowns and received four large slices of bacon. Next was biscuits with gravy which filled the plate again and was probably five inches tall. Lastly was the CBLT (chicken, bascin, lettuce and tomato) (large) wrap with fries, that of course filled the plate, cooked properly and not overcooked. Lots of crunchy fries. Came here about 3 years ago for dinner on our way to Eastern Washington. Was immediately seated near the counter ( 7 other people in the whole restaurant ) server took our order and hubby and I got lost in conversation. When we realized over an hour later that we were the only ones there, and hadn't gotten our food. She overheard us talking about that fact and came over and said she forgot to put our order in ... *seriously?* that was unacceptable for the number of patrons in there when we arrived. We got up and left. For some reason, we decided to give it another chance last week along with some friends. Dinner again. Seated right away, about 6 other people in the restaurant. It took them 40 minutes to serve our food which was not well presented, lukewarm, and very average. pre-made - canned - frozen feel to everything. I understand it's a DINER but come on, at least make an attempt ... you certainly don't feel like you're a 'guest' of the establishment, which you should always feel like when paying for food and service. I think they could make this place into something nice with some cooking classes, service training, and people skills. Though I was holding out hope (maybe new people), I didn't have high expectations of the place going in the 2nd time, but the expectations I did have were not met. We purchased some pie 'to go' with our friends, the pie was good, but that's the only thing I can say that was pleasant about this diner. We will not be going back for a 3rd try. read more
