We tried the Pub for the first time last Friday, a rainy day. I went for a bowl of soup, chicken with veggies was the soup of the day. The soup was tasty but the large pieces of chicken skin floating in it was pretty gross. The bones were small and I'm sure glad I was aware of them because it could have been ugly if I had swallowed them My husband's fish and chips wasn't much better. The fish had been frozen for so long it had absolutely no texture. I am a proud Creeker but this Pub surely is off my list. UPDATE: 12/09/21 - WOW, what a difference from our last visit. Yesterday we went to try the 'flight of margaritas', and we had dinner. My friend had the fish n chips, looked yummy, flakey fish. My patty melt was perfect and I had asked for a side salad instead of fries or chips, no issue at all. I am really glad to say this Cave Creek restaurant is back in rotation. Never met a bar in more need of professional help. I drove around hoping for a parking spot for 20 minutes. So you'd assume the place is packed. Nope, just a few locals drinking inside. Once I parked across the street (in violation of the don't park here signs) and went in, I waited 15 minutes in a nearly empty dining room. Made eye contact with every waitress and both bar tenders. Finally I left. Never asked if I wanted anything, offered a menu, "hello" nothing. I guess they don't need any more customers. I'm not too broken up though, the fries are horrible and an up charge. Nachos were huge and delish, were new to the area and love Irish Pubs and live music. My husband got the combo platter and LOVED it. By the way it was huge. We sat at the bar with a friend and our service was great PJ is a superb bartender and dealt with obnoxious questions and drink orders. They are even Guinness certified!!! My wife and I were looking for a place for lunch while up in the Carefree/Cave Creek area and we decided to stop in. We're glad we did. For starters the view was amazing. We sat out back overlooking the valley and foothills. What a great setting. Emma had the fish and chips and I had a club sandwich. The food was very fresh, generous portions and was prepared just right. Emma really enjoyed her fish and I couldn't ask for a better sandwich. Our waitress was friendly and did an excellent job just adding to a great lunch. We highly recommend stopping in for any of those who are ever in the area. read more

Sorry we didn't remember to take a pic of the fish and chips. Authentic style like I enjoyed in Lindon and Lilishall. We had the burnt tips too. Saucy and tasty. The ladies had frozen margaritas and they report they they were the best they ever had which is saying a lot since they sell a lot or margaritas in AZ. We visited during Sunday lunch and again on Friday night. The 70s music live bands were both nice and fun. We sat at the patio rail both times, the view is fantastic. It's September so we have 8 months of patio visits until next summer. read more

Tonight was unbelievable!!!! My brother in law is handicapped, he wanted to come to this establishment because we dropped in and had a good first experience about three months ago. Tonight was another story!!! First we pull in only to have an employee parked in the handicapped parking picking someone up who just got off work. We had to park at the end of the parking lot. When they left we went to pull into the handicapped space only to have the drummer from tonights band pull into the spot to unload. We go in and sit down and suddenly we realize that the door by our table is blocked by another table, and they bring more tables inside because it is cold. We order our food.. Food less than desirable Service tonight awful, server very nice forgot part of an order. Then gave us the wrong bill. Had to move two tables and chairs to get out of the restaurant. Walk by another table as we are leaving we realize that the guests at the table in front of the stage point and laugh at my brother in law !!!! SERIOUSLY I went as far as asking multiple times if they were laughing at him, they turned their heads and continued laughing with each other. As we are leaving I have a server ask if everything is ok? I told her what happened she asked if I would wait to speak to a manager. I said sure, to only find out that the table laughing at him was THE OWNER!! Along with his mother in law and friends!!!! The manager said she would watch a video and speak to the server and owner... SERIOUSLY YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN LAUGH AT A HANDICAP CUSTOMER THAT PAID YOU FOR SERVICE??? THIS IS FAR FROM OVER. Great to have Live Music Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Also be aware, as others mentioned, very pungent smell later in the evening if you sitting on the patio. First this is a bar. Food is second maybe third. Prices, not cheap. There is a lot of competition in Cave Creek for the dollars they are chasing. I was hopeful they might have a niche that was unique enough that it would set them apart. NOT! The server for our table was five stars by the way. So they can't blame her. First time here on a Friday night but with a band playing Stevie Ray Vaughan covers, I got the last seat at the bar. I like the layout with the bar and the outside patio facing the mountains to the north. It has an Irish theme so a lot of Guinness products and Irish whiskey options. Irish Pub in Cave Creek.. this restaurant has absolutely breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The dining area is light and bright, the patio is where you want to sit down and enjoy your favorite beverage while enjoying the view. We were greeted by the owner herself, she seated us and recommended we try the Ruben sandwich and so we did. Good suggestion! We also tried the Tuna melt and same here, it was pretty good. The French fries.. not sure what seasoning they use but wow the fries are good!!! Little spicy w/ vinegar flavor. I am updating my prior review to reflect recent experiences. Prior was 2 stars and now 3. Service has improved greatly. All of the current servers, and we've had at least three in the last several months, have been very friendly and followed up with quick and accurate service. Autumn was one and I'll try to get other names. The food has also been good. OK, it's not the Ritz but that's not what I'm expecting here. The music is still too loud and not that great when live bands are playing. When it's chilly out, the heaters need to be turned on. And yes, we asked. I'm not wrapping a serape blanket around me that 10 other people have used today - anytime, not just during COVID. The view is still spectacular! I'm going again over the weekend after a 2 month hiatus. Maybe it will go up again? read more

This Irish pub has one of the best views in all the valley of the sun. Contrary to some of the negative reviews , I've not had a bad experience and found the food is decent and getting better all the time. I don't know how it could've been worse. I didn't eat dinner after looking at some of the food of others and reading the reviews online it was pretty sketchy looking. We ordered "single, well" vodka sodas. Closed out to find we were charged $9 each for Tito's Sodas in a plastic cup. watched her poor the vodka and it was not Tito's. It had dark if not black label. We got scammed. I didn't argue and we just paid and left. We are locals here in Scottsdale and figured we would give this place a chance. The salsa was pretty good but came in a very small ramekin dish (like a side of ranch - see pics). Obviously we ran out of salsa before the chips were even half way gone. Asked for more salsa and had to pay an additional $2 for another small sized ramekin dish salsa. What a joke considering the chips and salsa already costs $8. I don't want to tell anyone how good this place is because I don't want to make it busier than it already has become. This little place gets it all right. Great food, good drinks, fun happy hour. It's great to taste a flight of Irish beers before picking one for the evening. The Reuben, made with Guinness soaked corned beef was stellar. (Asking for French fries rather than chips costs you an extra $3). The fish and chips were among the best tried. I'm ready to go back for seconds. The Kilkenny is an excellent beer or try a "dirty blonde". There is a lot of outside seating, but they have heaters running and offer blankets for extra warmth. Weekend live entertainment is available but I haven't enjoyed that aspect as of yet. We'll be back soon. read more

Had a terrible experience all around Friday, March 18. My husband and I were visiting my sister and husband and went to Mountain View after the Art and Wine Fair. First of all we were seated in an area that was probably in the process of being closed. A very harried waitress arrived and pretty much told us that they weren't seating in this area anymore, but let us stay. We felt bad for her, so my sister and I went in to the bar to order our drinks. We were pretty much ignored at the bar, but when a bartender finally waited on us, he initially turned around and walked away like he didn't hear us. Then he came back, we each ordered our drinks and he said "typical women". I said "What" and he said "you could have ordered together". I was incredulous. I said you can't treat customers like this and he was lucky we were even giving them business. The guy didn't say a word. After our meal I went back in the bar and told the manager. Outside of the great views and decent food the worst bartender I've ever met in my life. Rude inconsiderate not only treats the customers poorly but he treats all the waitress and waiter staff poorly as well. She wanted to put it in my hand. Added her to put it on a napkin. She tried to balance it on square coaster and it all fell to the floor. Asked a different server for coffee which never came. I went to coffee pot and requested coffee. Was told by original server She would bring it. It eventually appeared. Went to locate someone to receive check. A man who was eating, stopped to volunteer to help. He rang up wrong check.original server proceeded to produce a bill that was not itemized. She produced another. Most work I have ever done. We were at the art show and were looking for a restaurant. Google directed to Mountain View. We sat on the deck and soaked up the view. Meals we got were club sandwich, fish and chips, and coconut shrimp. All meals were fantastic! The fish and chips was a large filet that was lightly breaded and served hot. Coconut shrimp was very tasty and a good quantity. Club sandwich also a very good size. To start it off we had the large pretzel. The pretzel was warm and soft and the dipping sauces were very flavorful. Service was fast and the waitress came back several times for refills and to ask if we needed anything else.
