I wish I could give zero stars. we can midday on a Tuesday!!!! the server saw us... I wish I had taken a picture of her so I could say if you see her working.. RUN! don't even bother... she saw us, told us to sit wherever and we'd be helped. waited at least 15 minutes. saw two tables get their food... though one never got the water they'd asked for.. another table behind us made a comment "there we go" when their beer was brought out....her comment was "I wanted to give the ... time to settle(i forgot what they had ordered)." this tells me that they ordered their drinks... then food...aaaaand.. never got their drinks. when my husband finally went to go find someone, this gal comes up and says "what, have you been waiting all of 3 minutes?" in an extremely nasty, rude tone as she plops down menus. I replied, "no.. more like 15 (I was being generous)" and her reply was "well what do you want? I've been all over there (pointing to the row beside us where we are clearly able to be seen)" again super rude and abrupt. we tell her we are leaving and her reply is "fine!" and snatches the menus off the table before stalking away. If this is the type of service during the week... in the middle of the day... I'm afraid of what it is like when it is busy. as we walked out I called to speak to a manager.... surprise, surprise there wasn't one there... we won't be back. this is not the first time service has been bad, but this experience was downright awful and should be on an episode of Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares... unbelievable read more

Our visit yesterday for lunch was a bit disappointing On our last and 1st visit my wife had their fish and raved about how good it was, so for this visit yesterday I decided to have fish and chips. Wasn't impressed at all They must have changed the chef or my wife was just lucky with our 1st visit Also my wife had 2 Captain Morgan rum and coke's priced at $10 each I just had ice tea and our bill came to $68.71 by the time the tip was added on it became a $80+ lunch with a couple of drinks I can purchase a 1 3/4 liter of Captain Morgans spiced rum for under $20 So think that drinks are a bit of a rip off. We, and many of us that have been coming in since you opened, had a little get together and the Pub came up in the conversation. Mentioned that 4 of us met for breakfast last week and thought the prices were getting a bit out of hand at the Pub. Our breakfast with a couple Coors Light and Mimosas was over $190 plus the tip. 20% tip and breakfast ended up at $228. Stopped in last week for an after dinner drink. Two scotch and soda. $32. Have an occasional Blue Moon. $10 for a 12 oz. glass. Same scotch is $32 a bottle at Fry's. 32 drinks from a bottle. $512. JP, you are pricing your locals and many are your friends, out of coming in. Common knowledge in the bar business, I have owned 2 establishments, ladies bring business in. Hence many bars have ladies night. Brings in guys. But most ladies can't afford the $13 bar wine you serve. You are losing us locals. Plenty of places right down the street. That goes for this summer when it's 112 degrees and there aren't any naive tourists coming in to carry you through the summer. Be reasonable. Your food is mediocre at best and most times just plain bad. Your prices don't fit a wannabe Irish bar with no decent Irish food. Most of us are giving the Pub a break. Don't know when or if we will be back. You and Michele have been friends and we appreciate it. However as you continue to gouge your customers, us included, you are causing us to go elsewhere. Our first and last time going there. I ordered barbecue brisket and my wife ordered pulled pork sandwich, both were supposed to come with beans and french fries. Mine did but my wife's came with potato chips and when we asked the waitress about it, she said oh the pulled pork just comes with potato chips, even though it clearly stated on the menu that it came with beans and french fries so they did bring some for my wife. My brisket was incredibly disappointing, 4 very thin slices on a piece of garlic toast with very little sauce. Absolutely tasteless except for the garlic. I sent it back after one bite and got their grossly overpriced, macaroni and cheese instead. My wife's pulled pork sandwich was nothing but shreds of pork and fat with a very vinegar barbecue sauce that we asked for a little extra sauce not realizing they charged a dollar for it once we received the bill. I don't recommend this place to anybody! If I could give less than one star I would. read more

A nice little pub! I think the real draw is the view and the outdoor seating. Lots of outdoor tables and TVs outdoors so you can still watch the game while you're sitting outside. I'm shocked this place has received such poor reviews. It was our first time and we were both happy. For one, they serve our two favorite Irish beers on tap. The server was super friendly and told us what was good and we listened. The fish and chips were amazing as was the Rueben. Yeah, the prices may seem high but we thought it was basically market priced. People complaining about expensive burgers must not eat out a lot because it seems you cannot find good burgers under $15 anymore. We definitely will be regulars. read more

Been here twice. First time was great. Today was horrible- the French dip which was suppose to be prime rib was pressed cheap meat. Snapped when I bite into it. 2 of our group ordered corn beef and cabbage. The corn beef came out in strings that were dry and tough. Everything had been reheated apparently from last night... if you go for the view and beer- perfect. Buyer beware with the food. HORRIBLE. We've been good customers in the past but it's getting so hard to support the Mountain View Pub. I love to sit on the patio and look at the mountains while having a beer or two. And they do make a good G&T for my gal, so all has been OK to the end of 2021. However, tonight and a few recent experiences this year (including St. Patty's day) have taught us a lesson. I don't think we'll be back. Tonight was a pure rip off. The food has never been their strong point -- heck, it's a place to have a drink. But when they start with taking the current inflationary situation and applying it carte blanc to everything, I've got a problem. I ordered a Harp, a reasonable beer to order in an Irish pub. It came with about a 12-14 oz pour, more or less, and at a price of $9. I have never, ever paid $9 for a glass of draft beer. I had to ask, what's up here, some kind of supply chain problem? Sure enough, the owner/bartender just replied, "Yup, it's an import." Wow. The same size glass of a Gin and Tonic was $6 and that seems reasonable. But NINE DOLLARS FOR A GLASS OF BEER? In what country am I living? It's sure not the norm. We went down the street for another and got a great "import" for $5.75. I don't know what's up with the Mountain View Pub, but they're chasing people out of there right and left. The food we had was only marginal at best, a $12 caprese salad. I like this place and I'm really ashamed of myself for promoting it to my friends over the years I've lived here. Something happened with the owners. They've decided to jack everything up, perhaps because of tourists. What they need to do here is to give a "Locals Club" membership card and when flashed, the "locals" get that nine dollar beer for $6 or $7. A waitress came by and asked if we'd been helped and we said no, she threw down two menus and walked away. We waited about 10 more minutes without wait staff coming by. The view is a must see at sunset in Carefree. As the sun goes down and there's a lovely breeze you can close your eyes and almost be transported to the green hills of Ireland as you sip on the best Irish coffee in Arizona. Made with Jameson (the only way for me), fresh whipped cream and brown sugar. It's the closest you can get to home when homesick for the real thing. The service today was horrible. I waited 40 minutes at the bar just to have my food order taken. The bartender never acknowledged me so I left. I had to ask for my drink order to be taken initially as he walked past me multiple times. The people next to me asked several times if times to pay their bill and they were brushed off. My wife and I were looking for somewhere to get a beer and something to snack on. This place was in the stagecoach village. Stopped in and the staff was very friendly and helpful in directing us to done great high ABV beer. My wife and ordered the Moon Juice which is brewed in Chandler, AZ. It is 7.3% ABV which hit the spot. Luckily we were here on a Saturday, so they were bar-b-queing some awesome meats. Our server guided us to the rib tips which came with coleslaw and bar-b-que sauce. We ordered fries and chips and salsa for side dishes. The meat was mist tender and easily fell off the bones. The fries were cooked perfectly and the chips and salsa surprisingly good communication ng from an Irish pub. This meal was the best meal of our week and made yo for the terrible food we had at the club med resort at Sandpiper Bay, Florida. read more

Came to Mountain view Pub for lunch with friends while on vacation. Cute place, gorgeous views from patio but very mediocre food & very slow service. We ordered the BIG pretzel and it was a frozen from box. The "house sauce" was watered down with milk, lumpy blue cheese dressing. I ordered a Club Sandwich my fav. When it finally came it was the LAMEST sandwich ever. Literally 1 THIN slice of turkey and 1 THIN slice of ham. Few strips of bacon, paper thin tomatoe and LOTS of lettuce ($14). Very much equal to Jimmy Johns. We had waited over 1/2 hr for our food. Waitress finally came back to table and I asked her for some turkey for my sandwich. It took literally another 20 minutes. What brought us here is the beautiful view of the mountains on the patio. The happy hour menu is a joke and the regular menu is not up to date with the prices. So unfortunately until you receive your bill and ask why you were overcharged is when you find out the menu is not up to date. I read some of the reviews critical of the service. I went with wife and two girls 8 and 9. Our experience was excellent! We were greeted right away, food came out hot and quickly and everyone was super nice. Multiple members of the staff helped entertain our table by giving the girls glow sticks and telling us interesting things about the area. Food was good but not exceptional. I'm still giving it 5 stars because we really enjoyed our experience. Would definitely go again. read more

I've been here a few times and each time I ask myself.... self, why did you come back? Tonight was no exception. The service was fine, the wait staff was prompt with taking our order, quick to bring out drinks back and very polite. That's the last positive thing I have to say though. The food... the food was... well... horrible. Plain and simple... horrible. Again. Zero flavor. The brisket was like rubber, the bbq sauce was as mix of store bought with A-1 sauce in it. The toast under the brisket was rock hard. The stuffed bell pepper was over cooked and literally no flavor what so ever. The rice was a wet mushy sticky mess. The appetizer... it doesn't matter. It was all flavorless and just plain bad. To sum it up. Cafeteria food. The environment was fine, the view in the day time is amazing, the servers were fine. The food was shameful. It's a pub with OK food, you need to know what not to order. I am reviewing the nice people and how accommodating they were to us with our dog, and great service we were provided with. We stopped by after few hours of hiking in the area, it is was nice to see that dogs a re still welcome in certain areas and they will actually server the dog as well. If on the other hand, you're looking for good food and/or good service, I'd suggest settling elsewhere and forgoing the view. Mountain View is only a 1/2 mile from my house--and I want so badly to love the place. Alas, after a half-dozen attempts, I've yet to walk away anything less than angry. I'm sure they're struggling with server turn-over (like most places) so I try to be considerate. They still, consistently underdeliver using any standard. The food? Standard bar food...just lousier. Haven't had an acceptable meal there yet. Today, my wife and I bought two beers, chips & salsa and a basket of (super greasy) wings. $52 plus tip. I really wanted to love this place as it is perched above a valley in Cave Creek with a beautiful view of the mountains. Unfortunately the view is the best this spot has to offer. I stopped in for lunch and sat myself on the patio. I realized I was being hit with the stench of a half eaten shrimp cocktail that was roasting in the afternoon sun along with the remnant of a previous diner. The friendly waitress stopped and got my order and cleared away the table behind me, but left the decaying shrimp cocktail until well after my lunch had arrived. My patty melt was good, actually very good. But at $16 + $3 to substitute chips to fries it's just not a good value. The fries of which I dropped an additional $3 were very thin, crunchy, dry and over seasoned. If they came with the burger I might have let it pass. But $19 for a burger and fries, I expect something quite exceptional. read more

I was there to support my guitarist friend, didn't get a chance to try their food so cannot talk much about that. We did get their french fries that didn't taste right, so there goes that. The vibe of this place is nice, the location is pretty good. They have an outdoor seating area that gives you a mountain view (or a hill view), I'm not sure. I did witness the bar guy be rude/cheesy to one of the guests and that definitely put me off. I may not go back since their menu wasn't anything unusual, basic bar food I'd say.
