Yuck -- not what my husband ordered but decided to try and eat .. we don't know what it is .. and the Hollandaise was inedible :-( Gross
Kimberly V.

We love First Watch .. we don't love the order we had this past weekend and moreover the canned response given when more than half of our order was missing, ( $30+) and the items with said items we ordered, ( such as the fruit that went with the French Toast and the Million Dollar Potatoes ; the Bacon ; even the cheese that goes on the Chickichanga) BUT we didn't get that.. because we got half of someone else's order and some really bad hollandaise sauce-- inedible. This was a Uber Eats order and when you give a rating on Uber Eats , well it's sort of like , 'who cares .. here is a credit for $20' . How thoughtful and generous considering how expensive this crappy brunch was. It actually was angering. We just wanted a decent breakfast- brunch as we flew in the night before and were late -- no food in the home -- tired and no energy to go out. First Watch never disappoints.. until now and the food wasn't good. PS, good customer service goes a long way.

Grits & Shrimp.
E I.

First time I'd had shrimp and grits and, holy moly, it was wonderful! A perfect balance of ingredients (ratio of corn, sausage, onions, shrimp, peppers), not at all greasy. I will certainly be back to order that again. My only gripe-- and I apologize if this sounds trivial-- is that real and actual half and half or cream Is not on the table but one has to ask for it and then wait for it to be delivered. It just bothers me that the default is for an artificial product rather than real. The coffee here is fine But not stand out. Also, strangely, coffee is delivered in a carafe with just enough to fill two cups so it is inevitable that one needs to ask for a new carafe of coffee as soon as the first two cups are filled.

Pumpkin pancakes

We came for a late brunch on a Sunday and enjoyed our meal - we had coupons to use and it seems like we weren't the only ones. I ordered the chickichanga - the flavor was pretty good, chicken and chorizo with some green chilies and cheese. I should've asked what the Vera Cruz sauce was because I'm not a big fan of creamy sauces and it was like a hollandaise sauce so I scraped most of it off. My husband ordered the pumpkin pancakes with sunny side up eggs and sausage and my mother in law got the chicken pesto bowl. They both enjoyed their meals!! Service was great - our waitress kept our water cups full (even though the water didn't taste great). First watch is always a good option when you're wanting brunch and someone may want something a little healthier!

My friends and I dined in today and it was a wonderful experience. Sarah was fun to chat with and very well with service. The food itself came out quickly and was fabulous. 10/10 overall experience and I would 100% recommend

Food is ok. Not sure if there's been a change in management-- the (mgr.?) seems surly and robotic when you come in. Also, not a good First impression for First Watch (see pic):

Classic eggs Benedict

We've been coming here for a long time. And we continue to enjoy their food. While it's somewhat expensive, the quality makes it worth it. We went with friends this time. We had three different dishes. Two people ordered the classic eggs Benedict, one ordered blueberry pancakes and one ordered a Spring Special, the Hacienda hash. Everyone enjoyed their selection and the person who ordered the hash said he wished they'd add it to the regular menu. Our server was friendly and attentive as well

Traditional Breakfast

Always great service and food. Mary's my favorite, she knows what I like to order and has a great smile

One lemon ricotta pancake

Always one of my favorite places to eat breakfast. I'm glad I found this one tucked up into the corner of Cave Creek away from the busy freeway. I always get the trifecta which includes a waffle, eggs and bacon. Their waffle is light and soft with a little crisp and the butter and syrup combo is everything I look for in a perfect Belgian waffle. My friend tried the new Al Pastor hash and overall it was good but it was a little too chunky to blend. The flavors were a little too lunch style for my breakfast cravings. We got one lemon ricotta pancake to split and it was delicious as always. We got the beef sandwich to go and my brother loved it. Surprisingly their lunch sandwiches are just as good as their breakfasts.

Pond Water

The water here tastes disgusting. It's definitely unfiltered tap water. Tastes similar to lead filled, hot and old public water fountains. Service was trying to hard. Server spoke extremely unnaturally and was being excessively nice in a really obviously fake way.

Made a reservation online. Arrived and was seated within a few minutes. I order the bowl. Can't remember the exact name. But I've had it before and it still didn't disappoint. Also ordered a pancake on the side. So light, tasty and fluffy. It was quiet vibe as this was early in the morning. I would visit this location again.

I ordered the salmon poke bowl with brown rice. What I received was the salmon poke bowl with quinoa. The iced tea was $5. A side of Brussels sprouts was $8 and very small. Our table had poured and downed almost all of the water in the carafe before I noticed a small black beetle submerged at the bottom of it. When I told the server, he replaced it, but didn't give everyone new glasses. Only me. My friend ordered a wrap and asked for it to be gluten free. The person who brought the food told her that it was gluten free. The server, who had taken the order, came back and told her it wasn't gluten free. He told her he'd replace it and take it off of her bill. It took her forever to get the new wrap. And when she got the bill, he hadn't removed it from her tab.

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.

We sat outside in the evening shade for a nice gathering. We shared the Cuban Caesar salad with romaine, manchego cheese, sliced pears, toasted pepitas, masa croutons, avocado, fried plantain chips and Aji amarillo Caesar. The salad was crisp, well dressed and delicious with the fried / curled plantain chips. The shrimp cerviche with fried plantains, blue corn tortilla chips, lime, cilantro and cucumber pico de gallo was ok but not remarkable. Our final selection was the Gaucho spiced skirt steak with chimichurri, and masa potato cakes. The steak was overcooked, not medium rare, bland taste and tough. The potato cake was tasteless. Overall, the ambience and service was good, however, the food lacks any hint of Cuban flare except for the fried plantains. When I think of Cuban food, I salivate for the unique taste profiles with a hint of sweetness from the fruits. At The canal Club, I found it non-existing. The name, setting, and environment is good but the kitchen needs to let in on the theme being Cuban.

The six of us were seated across from the bar, and it was HOT . I started sweating and needed to use the menus as a fan and drink water to try and cool off. The restaurant had already been open for almost 2 hours, so I am not sure why it was so hot inside (others in our party were hot too, so I wasn't just me). Positives are the restaurant's beach decor and the hamburgers. Several people in our party ordered burgers, and they were cooked to perfection and the fries were really good! Negatives are very few seafood menu options and the fish tacos were terrible. They were drowning in a mayonnaise based slaw. The corn tortillas were really fresh and tasty, but when I bit into my taco I could mostly only taste mayonnaise and the pickled onions. Our friends even made an unsolicited comment that my tacos did not look good. Luckily, I selected fries as my side, because they were the best thing on my plate. With a name like Montauk, and the beach decor, I expected more fresh seafood options on the menu. More than half the menu was not seafood (Mediterranean platter, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, brussels sprouts, salads, etc.). Unfortunately, Montauk does not live up to the hype.

I loved the classic but modern feel of the whole restaurant. Our server has medium length hair and there's an open flame live lit candle and every time she bent over to clean the table or put food down, I was extremely worried her hair was about to catch on fire, she did not tuck her hair or anything just free will letting it dangle hoping it wouldn't catch on fire. Very concerning. We've been here a handful of times before for special occasions and it's been fantastic. However I don't know why the flavors this time just were not it. Everything, I mean everything, was so extremely salty. Not just the seafood tower we got and the lemon pasta but the steak, the sides, everything was so so so salty. I finished 5 glasses of water that night. We also specifically requested to save the bone from the tomahawk because we like to make stew from it. Sure that's not very fine dining of us but I also don't think that's for other people to judge. But the servers didn't pack the bone like we requested. The sides were very delicious though! Slightly salty like I said but the flavor itself was fantastic!! Plenty of free parking at the nearby parking garages at the mall, just a 5min walk is all
