Great local bar. The bar staff is the best even when the place is packed, which is often. Stop in and enjoy the outside seating and live music. Currently have a temporary menu due to some kitchen renovations but the cheesesteaks and wings are definitely the best around! read more

Food was not great, waited 1 hour to just get our food- (wings and a cheese steak), Waitress forgot about us twice. Don't know how it was named best cheesesteak in the Poconos- it was like minced meat scrambled with cheese and the wings were the smallest ever seen. Frankie fridge &my lovely wife Michele were at mountain house Friday night. I must say every time we come up390 We always try to stop by . Bar maid lori is the coolest . So we were the last ones in the bar .We were about to leave. My wife stepped out side . Came running back in saying there a house on fire. I thought she just had to much to drink. But she was not bugging there was a house on fire. Immediately Lori got on the phone to call fire department Myself and my little Italian friend forgot his name. Went in to action. Not sure if there were any people in this house.. I remember is name nunzeo now. He pulled up with his truck and started blowing on his horn, Then out came Jim that lives next door.I immediately ask him is there anyone in the house.He claimed that the house was empty. I was willing and ready to risk my own life to save someone else. But thank god it didn't come down to that. I must say Lori and my wife saved the day and nunzio. Lori got on the phone immediately and called the fire department. I also tip my hat to the fire men They were there in no time and got the fire under control. Turns out Jim owned a roll. of houses and if the fire department showed up10 mins later his house would have burnt to the ground . So timing was on his side. Any how me and my wife had a great time. At mountain house tavern food was great beers were cold and Lori and the other bar maid . Maid us feel real welcome. And also a great crowd of people. This bar is a lot like cheers. Where everybody knows your name. Frankie the fridge is my name . And they don't call me it for nothing. Who loves you baby. read more

Food, atmosphere and service 10/10 recommend. Melody, Johnny and of course Lori are simply exquisite!! We travel from DC to our cabin during the year for all seasons and "There is no strangers here, only friends that you haven't met" is truly felt. Oh, and go birds! read more

We go there a couple of times a year whenever we camp at Promise Land. The drinks are good and the food is good. You can't beat the prices for what you get. The bartenders are very nice and friendly. Wouldn't miss coming here when we're up here. read more

This place rocks. We have been at least 5 times recently and plan to go as often as possible. The staff is very nice, the food is great, the prices are very reasonable, and the live entertainment is always great. It's a little hidden gem off the beaten path, but worth the trip. Walked in because there was nothing open in Promised Land .. friendly people and busy little place. Ordered a cheesesteak with sauce and onions .. OMG it was awesome .. so good that I went back several times after. Daily specials on Facebook and also on TV in bar.. definitely would suggest any of their food, I saw a lot of food being served and a lot of happy people. It maybe the best I have had in the Poconos but I am from Wisconsin and don't get to eat any good cheesesteaks.. glad they were open and serving.. friendly bartenders and quick service. read more

Great place to stop for some good grub and super hospitality. We ate outside where there is a fire pit, horseshoes and plenty of tables under cover. Cheese Steaks were awesome! Pierogies and onion rings topped the meal off nicely. Will definitely be back. This review is during covid so we're anxious to see the inside. This is a pretty good hole in the wall when it's not crowded and full of obnoxious drunks. Simple items like cheese sticks & onion rings are good. Fried shrimp, not so much. The wifi doesn't work and you will probably have a terrible cell connection. Not a terrible place to stop by when it's not too busy but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

EAT HERE!!! No lie, this place has the BEST cheesesteaks I've EVER HAD, anywhere, bar none. The bread was perfect texture- didn't get slimy or soggy. The meat was finely chopped. This place deserves 0 stars food was horrible got sick that night after eating they lied to us saying they didn't have something but then gave it to the table next to us always take care of regulars and not out of town people like seriously and then some lady not affiliated with the band came up to me and asked if I wanted to tip them as soon as I started eating after wasting my time and sat there for 3 hours waiting for my cold food. Cheesesteaks and wings are fanatic!! That's coming from someone that has family all from Philly area that are cheesesteak connoisseurs and own their own restaurants. Service was great and quick. Wait staff were all polite and super attentive to my family. Place is unassuming from the outside - no frills just good food and drink. Nice and clean inside. My corner bar when I am up at my vacation home. The food is excellent. The prices are very reasonable. It's mostly locals and some long term vacation home owners which shows that's a good spot. This was an okay place. It was really crowded for a weeknight. I'm not sure why. It did seem like everyone knew each other so maybe it was planned. The chicken cheesesteak was pretty good. The Parmesan garlic chicken wings were not good at all. The drumsticks were pretty large but the flats were tiny. The place itself was a bit rundown but there was a nice deck outside. We had no cell service however it seemed to be a little better after I asked for the wifi password. read more

Great bar, great owners, great people. Stop in if you're in the area, say hello, it's a very welcoming atmosphere. I love this place for the people and the food however if you are a gambler and like to play the machines be advised this is the ONLY establishment in the Pocono, Scranton areas that makes you wait to collect your winnings. While we have been told the bar manager only needs to be called and will pay you they are always reluctant to call them or there is always a reason why the manager cannot be reached. While I don't mind that much having to wait a day or two I dislike having to return and use extra gas and mileage in order to collect my winnings when EVER OTHER venue is able to payout on the day you win. No matter how much I win at other places this is the only one that ALWAYS has a problem paying out and makes the customer return in a day or so. This is not necessary anywhere else and they should rethink how they are inconveniencing their customer. read more
