Wow. This was an amazing experience with my 7 year old daughters. They were apprehensive at first and quickly picked up thereafter with the assistance of our belayer- Patrick. It's quite spacious and not crowded. The staff are friendly. The bathrooms are clean and includes showers and a sauna that I definitely want to try out in the future. Because my daughters enjoyed this so much, I signed up for a free class to learn how to belay so I can bring them in the future without needing one of the staff to belay for us. The website is usable, although not very friendly. I wish it was a little bit better. The girls and I can't wait to come back!

Bouldering will always test your limits whether you're advanced or not. It's a fun way to challenge yourself and face your fears at the same time. The ambiance is definitely busy. There's people everywhere you turn. You'll definitely have to wait your turn in a few spots you want to boulder but it's quick. We paid for the day pass, chalk and shoes for 2 people which came out to $76 total. $32 for a single day pass. Totally worth it for a quick activity!

I've been taking more yoga classes and just wanted to give a shoutout to some of the amazing yoga instructors especially as someone just trying out yoga these last few months. So far: Jill is really great as someone who is new at yoga- very attentive!!, Carla is amazing at bringing in energy and really meditative yoga, and Doris is really funny and motivating especially for the more challenging sessions. I came here originally for the climbing/gym, and just did the yoga out of curiosity but honestly would come just for the yoga even without the other facilities (which are great anyway). Really great yoga instructors!!!

Ask the Community - Movement - Sunnyvale

What is the youngest age I can bring my kid to do some bouldering?

I brought my 3 year old. She couldn't do much there, however, I was told the Movement location in Santa Clara actually has a toddler area for bouldering. Hope that helps.

Are there snacks available for purchase (like protein bars, etc.)?

    Definitely.

    Is there an auto belay?

No there is no auto-belay device. You will have to pair up with humans at the gym if you wish to top rope!

Which yoga instructors play music during their classes (not just at the intro)?

Hey Monika, most of our instructors use music at some point during their classes (generally during Shavasana) but it is up to the discretion of each instructor on how they use music during their class.

How old do you have to be to come to this gym?

Recommended minimum 5 years old. Under 18 requires parent / guardian waiver. Very kid friendly!

The hot yoga session wasn't steaming hot that the mirrors will fog; they just turn up the thermometer to 80 degrees. I had no trouble following the positions and moves throughout the session, except I'm not flexible enough to flex backwards like a sandwich. After an hour session, we clean the equipment and handed cool eucalyptus towels to wipe the sweat off. Smells good and relaxing after hot yoga. Valeria was kind to ask everyone how's the class and the assistant made me sign a waiver and take a photo despite I was in a rush. I would definitely come back when I'm around Sunnyvale. Overall, it's a small studio with restrooms, a cubbyhole, and a mini clothing store in one place. It's conveniently located at the corner of the Orange parking garage. The class was small with the same number of students as instructors, about 12 people total. I received helpful hands-on assistance by an instructor during the class for a balancing pose.
