Thought the bar might be a good decompression spot after work, I like to have a cocktail and watch the game while I respond to the day's final emails and client requests. Upon entering the bar, I immediately lost two bars on my cellphone coverage (T Mobile is my carrier). No problem, I thought, I'll just use wifi. I connected to Moxie's wifi, but was unable to download any files with data, or get updates on my usual news apps... tried to send several text messages, which all came back as unsent due to poor signal... while I would have liked to have watched Monday night football and order dinner, I had to cut my visit short due to lack of connectivity, and go out in the parking lot to even answer texts or clear phone calls. So this spot is a NO for me, because phone coverage (at least if you're a TMobile user) and wifi were so poor. Bummer. read more

I don't know why this place has 4 stars. I was completely rubbed the wrong way after this obnoxious manager approached me about having balloons and a table setting for my husband's birthday. He walked up to the table without introducing himself, or even asking what I'm celebrating and says " I'm supposed to have you take all of this down but I won't, I don't know what's going on here but if you can keep the balloons out of the view of tv that would be great" mind you they sat us in the bar area in front of the TVs. I was told I would have a secluded area away from others, which was the first mistake. Second mistake was being approached in that manner after bringing over 30 people to his establishment. THIS REALLY TAKES THE CAKE, after sitting for about 10-15 minutes without servers he sends over two ladies to cover over 30 people. They finally come over after waiting a total of about 40 minutes and starts passing out water, before I could even get an appetizer they asked us for or cards to keep on file so when we're ready to check out it'll be easier. So basically they knew things started off bad and wanted to charge us for service regardless of the experience. Plates came out cold, some were over cooked, come we're undercooked. 3-4 meals were forgotten and served after everyone else had eaten. The servers were great but management sucks and have no hospitality. The best thing of the night was the Dj who helped lighten the mood after such a rough experience. It's not for large parties and the food is mediocre. read more

I just found the Moxie's in Southlake and have eaten 2 times there and found out that there is a Moxie's in Plano closer to where I live so I thought I'll give it a try and see if it's just as awesome The food I found is the same but the atmosphere in Southlake is nicer The Plano Moxie's in part of it is a loud bar half a regular restaurant but it looks like a hotel restaurant I will eat here again but I really prefer to eat in Southlake ( plus shopping near) read more

A group of us had been staying at the attached hotel for an event and decided to stay on location for dinner, so we went to Moxie's. Upon being seated at our table we were all but abandoned and had to flag someone down to get water. The waitress who showed up only had enough water in her jug to fill two out of 4 glasses. So two of us had warm water and eventually the other two got fresh ice water. Our wine glasses that were at the table were disgusting, covered in fingerprints and still had lipstick residue on them. We had clean ones brought out to us. We ordered pot stickers and their bruschetta without complaint, those were all enjoyable. All 4 of us ordered filets, 2 medium well, 1 medium, 1 medium rare. 3 out of 4 had to be sent back bcs they were all so over done that they were not enjoyable. Mine was supposed to be medium rare and it was well, not even a hint of pink. Once they were recooked they were much better. They did not offer any bit of compensation and barely an apology. I did enjoy the steak once it came back out but by that time I was no longer super hungry. We will decide to eat elsewhere the next time we stay at this hotel. read more

I really, really liked this place! The atmosphere is very hipster and fun. We had a party of 6 and they have those oversized 1/2 booths which make it really good for large parties to chat and not have someone stuck at the end of a table. I ordered the 6 oz filet and I swear it was the smallest piece of beef I have ever seen (had to be less than 6 oz). I ordered it medium (which i thought that mean pink throughout, but it arrived pretty much well done with no pink at all). I didn't send it back because I was so hungry and everyone else was eating. Someone ordered the lettuce wraps (which is on the menu as an appetizer) as her entree, and it was a good choice because it was definitely enough for a meal. Someone else ordered the salmon and it looked really, really good. 1 couple ordered the bread pudding - a HUGE portion. I had a taste and it was yummy. Service was very attentive & food came out quick and hot. I gave 4 stars just for the small size of my filet and because my steak was not cooked as ordered. BUT... I'm sure it will be 5 stars next time, and yes... definitely going back! read more

My family and I spend udels at places in Plano, and there is plenty to choose from in Plano and Frisco! ( we all know that!)
