It was date night, and we wanted to grab a few drinks after dinner. It was a cute small bar, and pretty empty (we went early like 6ish). I asked the bartender for a drink recommendation after being told they were out of 3 of the ones I wanted to try, but none of the drinks disappointed! They were good and strong. Just disappointed by being out of 3 of the few drinks on their cocktail menu and by being charged an extra $3 to put the watermelon drink in a martini glass when I would've drank it out of a solo cup. read more

When we asked about prices on the drinks, our bartender (Mia m) didn't know the drink prices and said "ahh they are all about the same" I wish I took pictures of the half filled espressos. We were going to tip very good, as we always do considering we know many staff that work here but unfortunately after that I can't say that I will or ever return here. I love the vibe at Pepper Smash!!! The last time that I arrived they were playing the game & had a DJ. Woot woot!!! They do have Saturday and Sunday brunch with $15 carafe flights which include a bottle of champagne, pineapple, orange & cranberry juice. I think the individual mimosas were $3. One star. I didn't even get to use my check in for the free fries because their service was horrible. No one greeted us when we sat at the bar and it was almost empty. It was a group of girls of 4 and that's it sitting down at the bar. We sat for minutes and it wasn't until we literally stared the bar girl down that she came and asked us what we wanted. I was at this location last night for the fight. I attempted to use the men's bathroom and was followed in by a staff of the restaurant. He told me because i was a woman (huge assumption) i was not allowed. I was in the stall and he stuck his eye inbetween the slat and refused to leave me alone. I came out after he would not leave. I went into the woman's bathroom and as i was walking it the staff told me "you're trash". When i was done using the bathroom he was waiting for me. I asked his name and told him I'm reporting him for harassment. He refused to give me his name and then watched me flag down two other employees asking them. Both told me they didn't know his name as he was a new employee. I noticed this guy head toward the door and i knew he was going to tell the security to kick me out. I grabbed my stuff and went outside. When i tried to speak to him and calmly let him know how wildly inappropriate his behavior was he yelled at me. Let me start by saying I am EXTREMELY lenient when it comes to service and always attempt to be positive with my reviews....however, this review will not reflect that. My party of 3 stopped in before heading over to a movie to grab a quick snack and a beer. For my "too long, don't read" folks, the food selection is minimal, the service is horrible, and the beer tastes like beer. For those wanting some detail, let me start by saying the minimal menu of food is full of flavor and yummy bar eats to go with that Dallas Blonde you just can't get enough of. They have a WIDE range of liquors and beers and the prices aren't any more expensive then the next door Mi Cocina or down the street in the other Legacy shops. However, the service is what's going to tank this place. The server started by avoiding our table for 5 + minutes before even making eye contact or saying hello. After waving her over we were finally able to communicate that we were on a tight timeline and would like to place our beer and food order at the same time. Even though put out, the server proceeded to take both our drink and snack order. When asked about what beers they had on draft, her response, verbatim, was "we've got the usuals: wheat, lager, you know" to which we were dumbfounded. When asked what the lager was she responded with "red" as they was enough detail to form an opinion. THEN, after communicating our timeline we watched as the kitchen staff and the bartenders played "pass the buck" with who would deliver our food. We watched it sit in the warming window 9 minutes (we timed it) before it was delivered. Mind you, I'm aware that staffing during this time can be difficult at the least- but with 3 kitchen staff and 2 bartenders attending to less then 8 patrons, I expected more. All this to say, food was great. Beer was cold on a hot day. However, don't waste your time. The pub behind the movie theater is a much better use of your time and money. read more

Smoked Makers Mark and Dr. Pepper! Smash! Yea- this place is legit. You read that right. They smoked some wood on the bourbon, blowing all this smoke into a jar of Makers on the rocks. It was all sealed up for me in a mason jar with all that smoke in there, where I let it sit for a few moments. The bartender walks me through opening it up, releasing the smoke like a genie, and pouring in the Dr Pepper- one of the real cane sugar Dublin Dr Peppers, that paired perfectly with the smokiness and the bourbon. All of it was an excellent drink that I'd only get one of- it's half presentation on the drink. Not every place is willing to set fire to things to make your next drink! These guys were all about it. Turns out, the Smoked Makers & Dr Pepper isn't the signature drink here, it's a spicy margarita kinda drink. The decor is a bit dimly lit, we sat at the bar. We went in for a drag brunch and the drag show was amazing! At first we throughly maybe they were short staffed but it isn't a big venue at all so it seemed to be not good waitresses. We ordered our food and drinks and the drinks came out no problem. They were strong and super good. However we waited the whole show and only one order of quesadillas came out. Our waitress said to us 4 times "sorry they are almost out". The drag show was 2 hours long and we could get the simple chicken quesadilla or loaded fries. Even the tables around us had to wait an hour just for chips and guacamole or chips and salsa. The menu seemed super simple, so I am not sure why it took forever. They did take it off the bill which is normal, I mean we didn't receive the item. Overall, it seemed like they weren't ready for this event. Ladies Night Out!!! A few coworkers, friends, and myself all decided to meet up for drinks, food, and quality R&B music. I arrived earlier to secure a couple of tables for us, glad I did because a few were already "reserved" for a private party. Our waitress Amber was very polite, friendly, and attentive. I checked in on Yelp which offered me a free appetizer (fries), so I presented the offer to her once she returned with my drink. Sadly, she informed me that the establishment hadn't offered food in a while due to losing the contact with the restaurant. I told her it wasn't a big deal, but she mentioned it to the manager. Who in return came over to apologize & offered me a free shot instead. SCORE!!! He was sweet and energetic as well... THE ENTIRE SCENE WAS A VIBE. H.H. ended at 7p.m. so, our first round of drinks were cheaper then the rest of the night. The atmosphere was chill, D.J. was on POINT and since there wasn't a kitchen management allowed outside food to be brought into the bar. The only down side is the drinks were over priced for the portion size and parking was hard to find. I stopped at Peppersmash on 9/23 with a friend and much to my surprise, I had a completely different experience. The gentleman who now owns this location was delightful, kind, and enthusiastic. Awesome cocktails but average food here. I ordered their old fashioned and I give it a 4/5. For food, I had the chicken and waffles (3/5), beef chili (3/5), and pork belly (3/5). The flavor profile for their food was basically off and therefore, the food didn't taste right. Service was good and the place was clean. Parking can be tricky on a weekend nigh though since this place is located at Shops at Legacy and their are multiple bars and restaurants here. It does have patio seating but very minimal. I can't recommended the food here but the cocktails are spot on. I think it would be a good place to kick it with your friends and have a few drinks since it does have a pretty good vibe inside. read more

I love the ambiance but I wasn't impressed by the triple explosion or the froyo with yogurt liquor. The triple explosion was wayyyy too sweet. It tasted like drinking strawberry jam with a shot of vodka. It was too much vodka. The froyo was too creamy. It lost the froyo texture and it was more like frothy whipped cream. Cute local bar in shops of legacy! I usually use this as my first stop of the night. I'm not sure if they have happy hour or drink specials but their drinks are kinda pricey. It cannot call itself a restaurant--I hate to think what the place looks like when the bar closes and the ugly lights come on. First sign this was not a restaurant--they don't serve ice tea. The music alone will have you dancing and grooving all night long. As for the libations. Try them all. Nothing disappoints. Right now there is a check in where you get free fries so take advantage of it while it lasts! All the food is cooked fresh and made with love. But yes, if you like to let loose and have a good time this is the spot to go on the weekends. Not sure at all really how it is during the week. I imagine it is just as awesome. This was by far the worst bar experience I've ever had. I rarely leave reviews but had to in this case. Upon arrival, I was waiting on my friend to join me and none of the 4 bartenders acknowledged my presence not to even offer a glass of water. After my friend arrived we waited a least another 10 minutes before anyone bothered to assist us. All the staff acted like they'd rather be doing anything besides helping us. The food menu has 5 items on it FIVE!!! We ordered the loaded fries with chicken and they were like eating air, no taste at all. I ordered some fancy strawberry drink and I will admit it was tasty. My friend ordered another type of cocktail in which she took one sip and it was awful. She notified one of the male bartenders about the drink she has and ordered the drink I had. The atmosphere wasn't our type of vibe either and along with the service we didn't stay long. The actually charged my friend for the one drink she sent back because it was awful. When she asked the female bartender about it she said "we still charge even if you don't like it, sorry" and then she walked off. If the food is going to be awful and the drinks mediocre, the customer service should be excellent, which it definitely was not. read more

Ended up stopping by here on a whim this past Friday night to celebrate a job promotion with friends. We all grew up in Frisco and to our surprise we walked into a "mini class reunion" so we're spending money enjoying great drinks- we even knew the bartenders,, great vibe, good music & old friends... BUT THEN as we were leaving a close friend of ours goes and speaks to someone we know that just so happen to be the DJ... & one of Pepper Smash's bouncers who had been drinking, escalated the situation to a level that was completely OUT OF HAND. Tne bouncer was aggressive and proceeded to make threats to cause deadly harm. Which made the other men in our party upset and the situation damn near turned into a brawl. We are all high level professionals & to have this experience in this place of business was embarrassing and unprofessional. I'll Never be back to pepper smash. I hope they choose to hire bouncers that don't come to work inebriated as it alters their ability to make sound decisions on the job. .. had this bouncer been sober the situation would've never reached that level of ignorance and probably could've been de-escalated and not turned violent. read more
