I had such a wonderful experience at Del Frisco's Grille in Plano during Restaurant Week. I came in Thursday evening around 6:45-7 PM and dined alone, and everything from the food to the hospitality was exceptional. I started with the Iceberg Lettuce Wedge with hickory-smoked bacon, tomatoes, blue cheese dressing -- fresh, flavorful, and delicious. For my entrée, I had the Filet Medallions with hand-mashed gold potatoes, roasted tomatoes, and bourbon peppercorn sauce. Absolutely DIVINE. The filet was tender, perfectly prepared, and that bourbon peppercorn sauce brought everything together beautifully. I finished with the strawberry cheesecake to go, which was the perfect ending. What truly made my evening memorable, though, was the manager. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but he stopped by my table and was incredibly kind and personable. I shared that my grandfather had recently passed, and the genuine compassion he showed me meant more than he probably realized. Sometimes exceptional hospitality isn't just about great service -- it's about how you make someone feel. The quality vs. the price is a little off for me. If I'm going to pay that much for a steak or prime fish, I want over the top service, ambiance, and taste. Del Friscos Grille is just ok in all three areas. I have been here a few times for work dinners. Last visit I had the mahi mahi, which was way over salted, as was the black rice underneath. Our filets were perfect and the onion rings were fantastic! The only reason I did not give it five stars is the restaurants website states a pretty strict dress code which they do NOT implement! We were promptly greeted and seated on a Friday evening. There were 10 tables at most, with 4 people at the bar top. We sat in our booth for 10 minutes never had anyone stop by, moved to the bar. The bartender greeted us quickly then once she gave menus she didn't check on us and we had to flag her down. There were two ladies working the bar one never acknowledged our existence. Food....spinach artichoke dip was good, the bread with it was different, very light but flavorful. We had the roasted chicken and cheese burger. The roasted chicken was decent, mashed potatoes were bland. Cheese burger tasted just like a whataburger cheese burger with a higher price tag. I will not be returning. read more

Dined there last night and the food was very average. Eggrolls could have been good if they were served hot, but they were cold in the middle so it was hard to taste. The wedge salad was probably the worst wedge salad I've ever had. The lettuce was not crisp, and there were hardly any toppings on it unlike most wedges that have blue cheese, crumbles, and bacon. I dined here last night and was seated quickly. Our server was very speedy. I ordered a cosmo. The appetizer list left a lot to be desired. I couldn't find anything that sounded really appealing. For my entree I ordered a filet, Pittsburgh style with garlic herb butter. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. My side was the macaroni and cheese and that was underwhelming. It lacked any real flavor. For dessert we ordered a key lime pie. One taste would have sent a diabetic in shock, it was so sweet I couldn't handle it. Happy hour was nice ! Wednesday 5:15 reservation for two. This was a nice little vibe. If you're lucky, you'll find a parking spot along the street. I made reservations to eat here for my 14th wedding anniversary. I was looking for a more upscale spot for a very special occasion. My husband hates dressing up, but he saw that dressing up was required so he did. When we walked in it was so annoying to see people dressed in basketball shorts, baseball caps and dirty tennis shoes. I am a lover of crab cakes so when I saw crab cakes on the menu online I knew I was going to get them before we even arrived at the restaurant. We ordered drinks first, but after taking a look at the menu I noticed the crab cakes were not on there as a dinner option, but there was an appetizer option so I settled with that and ordered a side of creamed spinach to accompany it. The crab cake was phenomenal! Lots of crab meat and zero filler.... but I wasn't a fan of the cajun cream sauce that it was topped with. My husband loved his short ribs! There were so many fruit flies in the restaurant. My husband and I swatted them away from our drinks and food during the entire dining experience. Our server noticed (he was amazing actually) and offered us coasters to cover our drinks with. While this was helpful, the fruit fly problem definitely made our anniversary dinner less desirable.
