I had the Chef Salad here, and honestly, it was just okay. I feel like I could have probably made something similar at home, which makes it a bit disappointing. The salad didn't have anything really special about it, it was basically cut up pieces of cheese, deli meat, eggs, on a pile of lettuce, with some dressing. The size was decently filing though, I was full from it despite it mostly being lettuce and what not. And the dressing itself wasn't too bad. It's just that when I go out to have a salad, I expect something unique and interesting that's more than something I could have made at home. read more

I was about to walk 20 minutes to a brunch place people kept telling me about, but I ended up walking past this spot and liking what I saw on the menu. There are so many options and I'd love to come back and try something else, because the service was really great but the Huevos Rancheros were pretty bad. The salsa they put on the rubbery eggs was pretty watery, making the unfried tortilla soggier the longer you went without eating it, which was awhile considering there was no chorizo or refried beans (they used black beans). The tortilla even had melted cheese on the inside, so you would think it would've been fried but it tasted like they microwaved it. Don't get me wrong, the atmosphere is very nice and inviting, the workers are all very friendly and helpful. I'm sure they have much better things on the menu! But if you want Huevos Rancheros or any other Mexican breakfast for that matter, I would go somewhere else. read more

The food was great. !!!!!!!!!! I order food pretty regularly due to working long hours in the city on wknds. I've ordered 3 wknds in a row, from other places, when I get it, the Food cold, delivered by a bike from Long distances. Crazy. But I found this gem Mo'z and my goodness see you tomorrow for brkfst. My food was hot , delivered on a bike and hella quick. I won't complain that my eggs weren't fixed right, cause even scrambled eggs are good. I came to SF for vacation and was staying near Union Square. I looked up several breakfast spots and Mo'z seemed intriguing. Immediately upon walking in, the owner Mo greeted me and my guest with enthusiasm. He made several breakfast recommendations and was extremely helpful and friendly. The place was nearly filled with locals and tourists alike. We initially sat at a table of 4 when a family walked in. My guest and I got up to move to a recently available table for 2, when Mo kindly told us to stay seated and comfortable and that he would arrange for proper seating for the family of 4. Perhaps it's hard to put into words, but customer service like Mo's is unmatched. 10/10 recommend and I will be coming back every time I'm in SF. read more

I'm a fan! A little loud with the door open and machines running, but it was a great respite after a flight in and when I needed a place to call in to a meeting on mute. Luckily, the food was also great! I had their turkey sandwich because my brain was fried and couldn't take in the HUGE list of sandwich options they have. It was perfect, had just th right amount of sprouts for crunch, and came with a side salad of significant portion and what seemed like a house made vinaigrette. The WiFi was perfect for the video call, the staff were all very warm, and there was ample seating options. I'm so glad that I stumbled on this place and that I couldn't find the Starbucks I was searching for. This was a much better result! I was way too hungry and harried from travel to take pictures. You'll just have to go in and see for yourself how welcoming it is! read more

I think it's significant that while the whole pride parade was marching down market street this place was full of queer families and couples of color. Food was great, staff was kind, lots of hearty options and good coffee. Kids in the place seemed super happy and well accommodated. Very un-corporate vibe, which is a beautify rarity. read more

Glad we found this brunch place that could serve us breakfast at lunchtime. Had to order at cashier. Then they bring to table. Wait was a little long, but they had signs up saying they were short handed. I ordered salmon scramble with Hollandaise sauce. It was good. Hash browns on side were a little bland. So, not good. Why? I ordered 2 eggs, and bacon, and a large coffee; $29. The eggs were oddly tasteless. Bacon was okay. The "large" coffee that was $5 came in a standard mug (one size). When done, I asked the guy at the counter for a refill and he told me no refills allowed and that I would have to buy another $5 coffee. I already paid for a large I did not get. I explained this to him but he would not budge. So, I will never spend my money here again. read more

Mo is really nice to his customers. Food is ok, a Little pricey but that's SF. BUT.....Watched him tazer a homeless man while eating my breakfast. That was kinda rough. I understand soma is hard for business owners, the homeless guy was just asking for water and it all went down in like 10 seconds. Kinda quick to pull out the tazer but what do I know? Salmon usually isn't something I go for on a menu, but Mo'z changed that. We stopped here for breakfast. The ambiance gave off a quaint cafe vibe: breakfast dates, some enjoying coffee starting work, etc. I could tell this place was loved by locals. They have an extensive breakfast menu. I went with the salmon scramble which was topped with hollandaise sauce and served with hash browns and toast. They made the eggs so creamy and the salmon wasn't that gross pungent fishy aftertaste you sometimes get. It paired very well with how they prepared it. The staff was covid mindful and very friendly. Came here after waiting with a friend for her bus in the freezing rain. I was looking for breakfast and a cafe to study in when I passed by here. It was pretty crowded (a good sign, but also made me nervous that I wouldn't find a seat) and was warm so I came in. Perhaps it was because it was so busy that the waitress wasn't too friendly, but she didn't give a most welcoming vibe. I ordered the Salmon scramble with egg whites (+$2), hash browns, and rye toast. It came out luke warm (when I love my food HOT), but they were very generous on the salmon!! which was well cooked. The platter did not look all too appetizing unfortunately. Also, the bread was buttered (which I dislike, why do restaurant decide wether I want butter or not??) and the hash browns tasted burnt and bland. Their hollandaise sauce, however, is absolutely excellent. One of the best really. I might not come back here because it's already very similar to crepe vine and squat and gobble, but the atmosphere and location are charming and very San Francisco so I might bring a visitor here for the charm. read more

Great place for breakfast/brunch! Even lunch! The menu is very extensive, I always want everything when I go. On top of that, the have special items written on smaller bulletin boards so look around before deciding on what you want (it'll be difficult to make a decision). I've tried the crab cake florentine and mo'z pancake combo. The crab cake florentine comes with a side, and I asked for fruits. It was pretty good and filled me up pretty well. I think I should have asked for hash browns because that looked really good from other pictures. The pancake combo was a decent size and you can choose your protein. The pancakes themselves weren't spectacular but I thought the combo came with a good variety of stuff ( standard breakfast combo). I want to come for lunch of one these days and try their sandwiches. They is mo' Mo's than y'all can shake a stick at in this city, including two Mo's Grills and a Mo Bar in the Mandarin Oriental. Just when you thought they just can't be mo' Mo's, here is Mo's with a 'z" - not to be mistaken for Liza with a Z, which would have to mean it would need to be in the Castro. But this one is across from the Westfield near Mint Plaza, and it's really a Squat & Gobble in disguise. Not as ambitious a menu but in the same spirit. Jamie W. and I come here on Sunday afternoons since it rarely fills up in here. Last Sunday, I just had a cup of coffee and a #3 Bagel with Cream Cheese, Sprouts, Red Onion and Tomato ($3.95) (see photo), as we both leisurely read the Sunday paper. That's the kind of place it is. No one's waiting for your table. The woman at the counter is very nice, and quite frankly, there should be mo' of her around. This cafe is conveniently located right around the corner of the Mont Plaza, where my sis works. On a hot weekday in San Francisco we met up for lunch, and unfortunately this place as NO air conditioner! Eek! They do have a huge fan blowing, which wasn't enough for my aunt who joined us. I got and iced coffee, which I usually like with a ton of sugar, but this coffee without it is sooo good! My friend who is super picky got a double cappuccino and loved it. Wayfare Tavern, for example is a 4.7 stars in over 8,300 reviews, while it only receives 3.9 stars in Yelp with over 4,000 people reviewing it on this platform. Just my opinion but for context I eat out for work 3-4x a weeks all over the country and Wayfare did not come close to a 4.7 star or even a 3.9 star experience.

Mind you this is lunch. Not dinner. This is not a super fancy place. Me and my wife were both properly and nicely dressed. I politely told her that I identify as a woman. She said it didn't matter. I said so you misspoke a moment ago and male or female cannot wear sleeveless shirts? She said correct. I looked around and there was a woman behind us wearing a sleeveless shirt. Not nearly as nice as mine or dressed as nice as me. I said ok I will wait here while you turn her away too. The manager then became very rude and said she isn't going to serve me no matter what. I told her are you sure about this and she said yes and asked me to leave. How embarrassing. I have never been turned away from any establishment in my life. Is this not discremenation due to my gender? Businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone unless it is for race, gender or age. I will be contacting an attorney this week. This is not ok. This place fills a special need in this neighborhood. First off, the guy named Mo who runs this cafe is a "hands on" owner who definitely aims to please you. His staff follows his lead with genuine smiles and personal courtesy. I've eaten 3 breakfasts and 2 lunches here since they opened. The low prices are quite a bargain for healthy & ample servings of breakfast classics. And, they listen to you when you ask for small changes to the menu's selections to suit your particular tastes. They open early, so I've been able to get a nutritious breakfast before starting my workday nearby. The lunches I've enjoyed were served quickly and deliciously, too. I'm glad Mo'z is downtown as an affordable cafe that serves up a great meal with personal attention that's lacking in so many other venues in the neighborhood. A great cafe with free WiFi with great signal strength & plenty of seating near large windows. The very friendly staff gave me coffee refills for just a buck! Came in earlier for lunch and loved the place right off the bat! The atmosphere was really nice and the cafe played really good music! The food was great I had the BBQ crepe w/ ceaser salad. Came in this morning for a tuna melt and cream cheese bagel with bacon. The Thai tea was one of the best I've had. He had one of those juicing machines that was super awesome. My bagel had a generous amount of bacon and my boyfriend rated his tuna melt 4/5 stars. Delicious cafe with a unique menu. I ordered the salmon scramble and found the salmon to be quite fishy tasting. Hash brown are good. Portion size is on the smaller size and cost is slight more than I like to pay for breakfast . I would like to try the breakfast burrito next time. read more

The omelet meal was pretty tasty giving Nation's vibes. When my husband received our order, it was missing the bacon and orange juice. The person who took my husband's order failed to include the bacon and orange juice, the person who gave him the order told him he failed to place the order. In absence of the food credit, I would not spend our money here. The quality of food is similar to an American diner like that of Nation's or Mel's, which we have not frequented in the last decade plus. To set my expectations high with a description of "elevated" made it easy to disappoint.

Marble floor and counters. Wooden café tables. You order food and/or coffee at the counter and if you are dining in, you'll get a number to put on your table and someone will bring your food to you when it's ready. For coffee, just wait around and it will be ready shortly. The menu includes pastries, sandwiches, pizza, and pasta, depending on the time of day. There are grab-and-go pre-made food items in a cooler, along with a variety of beverages. Packaged snacks are also displayed for purchase. The prices for the chips and such are well in excess of what you'd pay a a local shop, of which there are several down on Market Street. You're paying for convenience. In the course of my most recent stay at the St. Francis, I had coffee several times, as well as a breakfast sandwich and a pepperoni pizza. I have had their pasta on previous visits. The food and coffee are generally good and the people behind the counter are nice. I was particularly impressed with the pizza, which is among the better ones I've had from a hotel restaurant. The breakfast sandwich was okay, but nothing to write home about. It was supposed to have prosciutto and tomatoes, but what was on the roll was mostly egg. The pasta is pretty good. I like the Nonna's Ragu, if you're wondering what sauce to choose. It's hotel prices, but pretty solid if you don't want to leave the hotel. They do close at 9:00 p.m. as of this writing, and the hotel doesn't have any other grab-and-go kiosk, so be sure to get what you need before it gets too late. Otherwise your only other option will be to go out or order the pricey in-room dining.
