Related to the light show. I'm not a 1 star girl but I'm sorry Austin, I just don't get it.... This was horrible. The time and patience it took just to get reservation was frustrating beyond belief. I kept thinking? It will be worth it, it will be worth it. Walking up the girls squealed with excitement, we took some cute pictures, danced on Tay's dance floor all in anticipation for the big show. Finding a 6 top table was the impossible part about getting the reservation. We walk up yo L48 and it's this tiny picnic table, impossible to fit 6 people. I had to pull up my ticket to make sure I had the right number, sure enough that was it. Then we were seated basically in the line for the concessions so I had stranger asses inches from the side of my face the entire time. When reserving you can also add a hot cocoa package, I thought I got it but when we sat down there was nothing at the table like I was told there would be. I checked my tickets and saw no mention of the package so figured I decided against it, So I got in the concessions line and ordered 4 hot chocolates with two pretzels, it was $75 and of course they wanted a tip. So $85 for a snack, ...wonderful. After I paid and sat back down a large box with cookies and pretzels shows, again wonderful apparently I DID pre-order. This was a 7pm show, at 7:19 a server shows up with hot chocolate and cups that were part of the preordered package. We sent it away while asking why it was so late to be told they had to wash the carafe between shows. We were seated in the lower level and couldn't see anything, honestly the entire time we were tying ti figure out what we were supposed to be seeing. So Austin, for 21 years I've been told I HAVE to go to Motzarts, now I've been and I can guarantee I will never go again nor recommend ti anyone. I came here for the free movie night thursdays tonight and unfortunately had to leave the movie 20 minutes before it ended due to the fact that as soon as the sun goes down it is infested with cockroaches. Really great coffee roasters sitting next to a lake. We arrived on a busy Sunday morning and there was a huge line out the door. Thankfully the weather was delightful so we were happy to wait while enjoying the live jazz band they had playing in the outdoor seating area. They have two counters inside for ordering which helped with the line tremendously. I ordered an americano and a raspberry danish (the pastry cases were so tempting!!), my friends ordered lattes and other pastries. We weren't waiting too long before we headed outside and managed to find a table right next to the water. There were tons of turtles swimming around which was very cool! The food and drinks were great, and the scenery and vibe is really cool. Nice place to hang out of a weekend morning, but be prepared for a wait! The first time I visited Mozart's Coffee Roasters was in summer '21, with my sister and our friend, on a blazing hot August afternoon. We split a carrot cake and left quickly to beat the heat, but this time around, I was able to enjoy this popular venue at night. I made the mistake (?) of ordering an iced latte, but I was craving something cold and creamy, even if caffeine was part of the equation. I also got a chocolate cake to split and a spinach and feta empanada which I felt was too small. One thing I think Mozart needs to improve upon is the vegetarian savory options, and also portion sizes for said vegetarian items. The line is long but it moves quick on the weekends, but this is seriously the perfect place for lake views and bringing a good book. We got the bacon and egg quiche, Specialty coffee, cappuccino and chocolate chip cookie. I love that they're special of the month croissant has a cookie in it, but it runs out quick so I highly recommend you come here early in the morning to try out their specialty degrees that they have seasonally. It's all about the ambiance at Mozart's. This is one of, if not the best outdoor patio space in Austin! Shaded by a big oak tree - like so many great patios are - Mozart's patio is full of picnic tables, boasts a beautiful lake view, and has a handful of strategically places outlets in case your electronics need a boost. I usually get a cold brew or an iced Americano here on warm days, and they get the job done. They don't make the best coffee in Austin, but it's far from the worst, so if you need a quick pick me up, go for it! If you're hungry, Mozart's has a fully stocked pastry fridge (they make 'em in house) and a few savory items as well. I can't vouch for the taste, but they certainly are eye candy. The other great thing about Mozart's is that they're big on live, intimate events! Drink: Draft latte was a solid 3/5 since it could have been more creative in its flavor notes and the coffee was on the acidic side. Love Mozarts! What happened to the Christmas light festival 2025? The best part about spending $265 was the hot chocolate. I remember coming to the light festival years ago and it was absolutely amazing. Now we have a flat screen with a projector, horrible music, and an amateur rendition of the Nutcracker. Unbelievable! The outdoor area is gigantic which make some great places to sip some Iced Tea and listen to some music. It was the best Iced Tea that I had in Austin. I was expecting to walk in and hear The Marriage of Figaro but instead, there was an acoustic guitarist performing originals on the front patio. Mozarts is located on the lake, making it an ideal place to visit on a date for a nice view. It does get quite busy so you will be waiting in a line out the door. We waited about 15 minutes for an americano coffee and our dessert to go. There wasn't much space to wait it felt a bit claustrophobic with the big table in the center. I decided to order the ube cheesecake and it did not disappoint! I liked the coconut shavings on it. It was very smooth and not overly sweet. My partner got the turtle cheesecake and he loved it. I have mixed feelings about Mozart's. Today, there was a line out the door past the stairs to the second deck. Its just too packed these days to be enjoyable. The cashier was very nice and the samosas were good but it's just packed from the parking (even in the over flow parking across the street) to the line to the seating. Every time I come, it's too loud and packed. I remember Mozart's from high school and it used to be a laid back spot on the lake. Now it's just too much and hard to enjoy the vibe of the lake with the noise. It feels more like a touristy spot than anything else these days. The coffee is also quite bitter. Maybe I'm biased because I remember Mozart's years ago and miss that version of Mozart's than what it is these days. I'm still giving it 4 stars because the workers have always been very nice every time and I love their large selection of savory and sweet foods. Mozart is probably one of the best coffee shops in Austin. From the view, service and different menu items they have everything to cater to everyone's specific needs. At 5 pm on Sunday, after finally finding a parking spot, i found 90-100 people waiting in line to order coffee, etc. Noticing that the line was not moving i determined that it would take an hour plus just to get to order my cup of joe. The coffee tastes like something you'd get at a gas station. The pastries are made from cheap ingredients and aren't fresh. There's really nothing good about this café. If you think the view will make up for the poor quality of the food--think again. Yes, there is a view, but it's nowhere near as nice as the photos suggest. This was ones of the highlights of our Austin trip. The views, the live music, and the food were all top notch. We tried a few different things other than their fabulous coffee drinks. The empanada was delicious! I forgot which flavor we got but it definitely tasted fresh not from frozen. Who knows but it was great. Came here per a friends suggestion for the river view. I will say this shop is very cute, has AC, cold ice water and ample seating next to the river. I came around 4pm so there wasn't really a line besides a few people. Servers/workers were extremely nice. Looks like a nice wfh spot with their bottomless coffee option and indoor option. I got a small caramel frappe with whipped cream. The drink was a HUGE miss and I highly do not recommend it. it wasn't blended throughly- so there was literal ice CHUNKs that wouldn't go through the straw and make it hard to drink. It was an off color white? Very minimal whip cream; I get it since the lid was the same ones they use for coffee, but if you're going to offer whipped cream optional drinks then I highly recommend this business to give dome lid options like other local cafes (not chain) in the area. For a small 12oz $6-$7 frappe- it would be better to go to Starbucks for both the quantity and especially the quality. Overall: store, ambiance, service were all great!! Im sure the actual cold brews or lattes are up to par. But regarding the frappes it was highly disappointing and I'd advice people to order regular coffee and not make the same mistake as me who sadly had to toss it away without finishing it due to the ice amount. read more

Headed to the last winter light show last night which was amazing! Tried to go last year but sometimes the tickets go so fast! This was definitely an experience we would do again. They had a college student play a few classical pieces of music live before the organized show (remember to tip your entertainment). We reserved a table (specifically D15 for the 8pm show) which had a great view and had cute decorations on it that made the area look like a fancy party or wedding. The light show was such a great mood booster and beautiful to see all of the lights. Outside of the shop deck they had a few setup photo opportunity areas, a market to purchase drinks and snacks, and a dance area with a disco ball and a interactive floor. They also had these Fireside sundaes that were buy one get one free this night! Plus we got to keep the nice sturdy mugs. The counter staff were friendly and helpful and were kept busy the whole time we were there pumping out perfect orders. They also had staff going around asking if you wanted more whipped cream on top of them even! My only note is that even though they had areas blocked off, people that did not purchase for the event came down and milled or sat among the tables that were pre purchased by others looking for a spot and asking staff what was going on and staff had to ask them to leave, even into the show, which clogged the area and limited the view at times and increased the noise of conversation while music was playing. This could be improved by a better check in process, but maybe because it was the last night it was more relaxed? Either way it didn't dampen our great experience, just something that could be changed. read more
