It's all about the ambiance at Mozart's. This is one of, if not the best outdoor patio space in Austin! Shaded by a big oak tree - like so many great patios are - Mozart's patio is full of picnic tables, boasts a beautiful lake view, and has a handful of strategically places outlets in case your electronics need a boost. I usually get a cold brew or an iced Americano here on warm days, and they get the job done. They don't make the best coffee in Austin, but it's far from the worst, so if you need a quick pick me up, go for it! If you're hungry, Mozart's has a fully stocked pastry fridge (they make 'em in house) and a few savory items as well. I can't vouch for the taste, but they certainly are eye candy. The other great thing about Mozart's is that they're big on live, intimate events! I've seen a movie there on a warm night and they regularly invite a musician or band to fill the air waves with something pleasant (or energetic). Really great coffee roasters sitting next to a lake. We arrived on a busy Sunday morning and there was a huge line out the door. Thankfully the weather was delightful so we were happy to wait while enjoying the live jazz band they had playing in the outdoor seating area. They have two counters inside for ordering which helped with the line tremendously. I ordered an americano and a raspberry danish (the pastry cases were so tempting!!), my friends ordered lattes and other pastries. We weren't waiting too long before we headed outside and managed to find a table right next to the water. There were tons of turtles swimming around which was very cool! The food and drinks were great, and the scenery and vibe is really cool. Nice place to hang out of a weekend morning, but be prepared for a wait! I went to Mozart's to watch their annual holiday light show and, while that was cool, the actual coffee roaster impressed me even more! I loved the vibe inside. The first time I visited Mozart's Coffee Roasters was in summer '21, with my sister and our friend, on a blazing hot August afternoon. We split a carrot cake and left quickly to beat the heat, but this time around, I was able to enjoy this popular venue at night. I made the mistake (?) of ordering an iced latte, but I was craving something cold and creamy, even if caffeine was part of the equation. I also got a chocolate cake to split and a spinach and feta empanada which I felt was too small. One thing I think Mozart needs to improve upon is the vegetarian savory options, and also portion sizes for said vegetarian items. Mozarts is located on the lake, making it an ideal place to visit on a date for a nice view. It does get quite busy so you will be waiting in a line out the door. We waited about 15 minutes for an americano coffee and our dessert to go. There wasn't much space to wait it felt a bit claustrophobic with the big table in the center. I decided to order the ube cheesecake and it did not disappoint! I liked the coconut shavings on it. It was very smooth and not overly sweet. My partner got the turtle cheesecake and he loved it. I would definitely return for some more pastries if I'm in the area. I'm not a coffee drinker so maybe I'll try a different type of beverage next time. read more

I have mixed feelings about Mozart's. Today, there was a line out the door past the stairs to the second deck. Its just too packed these days to be enjoyable. The cashier was very nice and the samosas were good but it's just packed from the parking (even in the over flow parking across the street) to the line to the seating. Every time I come, it's too loud and packed. I remember Mozart's from high school and it used to be a laid back spot on the lake. Now it's just too much and hard to enjoy the vibe of the lake with the noise. It feels more like a touristy spot than anything else these days. The coffee is also quite bitter. Maybe I'm biased because I remember Mozart's years ago and miss that version of Mozart's than what it is these days. I'm still giving it 4 stars because the workers have always been very nice every time and I love their large selection of savory and sweet foods. It's also a pretty location, which I guess is why it's so packed but it takes away from the enjoyableness of the place. read more

Please don't be misled by the ratings or stars! Maybe this place used to be good, but that's definitely not the case anymore. Everything is old and worn out. The coffee tastes like something you'd get at a gas station. The pastries are made from cheap ingredients and aren't fresh. There's really nothing good about this café. If you think the view will make up for the poor quality of the food--think again. Yes, there is a view, but it's nowhere near as nice as the photos suggest. A good spot for tourists. The coffee shop offers different kinds of cakes/pastries from cupcakes to croissants and brownies. They also have a lot of different syrups for your coffee. Drink: Draft latte was a solid 3/5 since it could have been more creative in its flavor notes and the coffee was on the acidic side. Pastries: I tried the tiramisu cup, Texas pecan coffee cake and apple tart. The tiramisu was just mediocre, and lacking the liquor taste making it tasteless rather just a pudding. The apple tart was once again just subpar and nothing special. The crust could have been more buttery and flakey in addition the apple filling was bland/dull. Please give my tastebuds some flavors to work with. Texas Pecan coffee cake was the best of the 3; however, it was dry even maybe a few days old in the pastry case. It was full of Christmas spices and the caramelized pecans were a great topping. The hand off counter when picking up my order was kinda chaotic. The outdoor area is gigantic which make some great places to sip some Iced Tea and listen to some music. It was the best Iced Tea that I had in Austin. I also got a cookie to test out their baking abilities and they seemed to pass on that. The lines inside were a little long, but they got to everybody pretty quickly. The only thing that was a little weird was the amount of high schoolers there. I thought Millenials and Gen-x were the coffee shop people :) Either way, great place to check out! read more

I discovered Mozart's Coffee via a friend from Austin who knows of my love of coffee. I made a random stop by and was delighted! I was expecting to walk in and hear The Marriage of Figaro but instead, there was an acoustic guitarist performing originals on the front patio. This was ones of the highlights of our Austin trip. The views, the live music, and the food were all top notch. We tried a few different things other than their fabulous coffee drinks. The empanada was delicious! I forgot which flavor we got but it definitely tasted fresh not from frozen. Who knows but it was great. We tried all the different types of breakfast tacos, they have a few different flavors. Prices were right. The live music was a nice surprise. Came here per a friends suggestion for the river view. I will say this shop is very cute, has AC, cold ice water and ample seating next to the river. I came around 4pm so there wasn't really a line besides a few people. Servers/workers were extremely nice. Looks like a nice wfh spot with their bottomless coffee option and indoor option. I got a small caramel frappe with whipped cream. The drink was a HUGE miss and I highly do not recommend it. it wasn't blended throughly- so there was literal ice CHUNKs that wouldn't go through the straw and make it hard to drink. It was an off color white? Very minimal whip cream; I get it since the lid was the same ones they use for coffee, but if you're going to offer whipped cream optional drinks then I highly recommend this business to give dome lid options like other local cafes (not chain) in the area. For a small 12oz $6-$7 frappe- it would be better to go to Starbucks for both the quantity and especially the quality. Overall: store, ambiance, service were all great!! Im sure the actual cold brews or lattes are up to par. But regarding the frappes it was highly disappointing and I'd advice people to order regular coffee and not make the same mistake as me who sadly had to toss it away without finishing it due to the ice amount. read more

Headed to the last winter light show last night which was amazing! Tried to go last year but sometimes the tickets go so fast! This was definitely an experience we would do again. They had a college student play a few classical pieces of music live before the organized show (remember to tip your entertainment). We reserved a table (specifically D15 for the 8pm show) which had a great view and had cute decorations on it that made the area look like a fancy party or wedding. The light show was such a great mood booster and beautiful to see all of the lights. Outside of the shop deck they had a few setup photo opportunity areas, a market to purchase drinks and snacks, and a dance area with a disco ball and a interactive floor. They also had these Fireside sundaes that were buy one get one free this night! Plus we got to keep the nice sturdy mugs. The counter staff were friendly and helpful and were kept busy the whole time we were there pumping out perfect orders. They also had staff going around asking if you wanted more whipped cream on top of them even! My only note is that even though they had areas blocked off, people that did not purchase for the event came down and milled or sat among the tables that were pre purchased by others looking for a spot and asking staff what was going on and staff had to ask them to leave, even into the show, which clogged the area and limited the view at times and increased the noise of conversation while music was playing. This could be improved by a better check in process, but maybe because it was the last night it was more relaxed? Either way it didn't dampen our great experience, just something that could be changed. read more

Great location, situated right on the water front, with a great view of Colorado River. There are plenty of benches, allowing you to *usually* easily find seating. Servers are friendly, although is usually a longgggg line to order. If they could speed up that line, that would make the experience much better. Let me start by saying I was used the the Seattle coffee places and many of the small coffee roasters just starting out or some of the main drive thru / sit down places though out Seattle, not just the DT area. We came here just after xmas and they had a live band playing, parking was a mess, people were parking up the hill and Mozart's coffee had a long line of customers to get in. They had a guy at the doorway that was nice and did a great job directing people around. Table were cleaned pretty quick when someone left. Now for the coffee, so walking in I felt like this was a gift shop, but I have to hand it to the selection of stuff and MAJOR Kudos for the selection of baked good, I mean a ton of baked good that looked really good, but also carried a price tag on it. I wanted my normal drink, pretty easy and somehow easy to mess it up, Decaf Americano with extra half and half.. That's it.. So when I was asked what I wanted to order I also wanted to know where the beans came from, like which country or countries, many place post it on the menu or up front and if they had different decaf selections available ? Sadly the girl working while nice went into deer in head lights mode when I asked and looked at the girl working the espresso machine like do you know ? ... Sad to say that was a bust for that. I did want to buy a bag of decaf, but didn't see any of those in the areas where they had many bags of ground and whole bean bags for sale. So over all, great area, but epic busy depending when you go and great selection of baked goods, I mean 2 or 3 displays of cookies, cakes, ect ect like a very nice coffee shop would had and looking like all local products :) A selection of coffee and other drinks which tick all the check boxes, so I have to give this a try it out vote and enjoy the water view :) I only gave a good review rating since they lacked on decaf drinks and didn't know where the beans came from... read more

Holiday light event much lower quality than recent years. It was WAYYYYYY better in 2023 compared to this year. Don't know why they changed, but HOPE they go back to the previous event style. If you are thinking about going to Mozarts for the light show in 2024, don't. There is no light show this year. Not sure what are the tickets $$$ for?? According to employees, public feedback was to have more interactions and activities instead of a light show. Whaaat??? What activities? Boat rides are a joke - going under 20ft arch of lights, probably impressive for 3yo, just not for the price. The line to get in was wrapped around the parking lot multiple times, they were not checking your ticket timeslot, they really didn't even check your ticket at the entrance. (My son wanted to go to the bathroom, he literally walked in without anyone questioning him). If you pre-ordered your food, get ready to stand in line to pick it up. If you didn't pre-order, get ready to stand in line to get your food. If you want to eat your food sitting at the table, get ready to wait for it. Parking is not bad, but traffic is insane, somebody needs to direct the flow. Overall it was oversold, overcrowded, chaotic, total sh*tshow. read more

Came here because I had no Internet (from the storm) and do some work. I sat outside and it was a little chilly but good thing I brought a jacket. I'm not a coffee person but I appreciate the aroma. I ordered a breakfast taco and it was great-warm and energized me for the morning. Lots of parking (especially when I came in the morning 8am). There's free Wi-Fi and outlets-you can look for them near the trees. Sometimes the Wi-Fi connection isn't strong, but it comes back quickly. There are restrooms you can access from the patio. There's a very nice view of the lake. It gets kinda noisy near the noontime when more people come and birds are everywhere. Bring earphones and you'll be good to go! read more

A beautiful lake set against the backdrop of an autumn mountain, live soulful music played by local artists, strategically placed lights (and mosquito repellents ;)) - simply love this place. The coffee is great and there is huge variety, the desserts not so much taste wise, but picture perfect and then at a place like this who really cares about their taste. ...
