This review is specific to Mozart's event space only. I attended an event here and thought it was both well organized and fun. Parking was easy - they have two small lots, as well as street parking. The open layout of the room was perfect for the amount of guests. The bakery case was full of beautiful European style treats, which gives me a good reason to return. They offer a limited cafe menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, and quiches on Thurs-Sat only. They also do afternoon tea service, by reservation only, on some limited weekdays. It is a popular venue for hosting local/special events and I can see why. read more

I'd been to the other location years- decades?- ago. Much smaller. This one is huge, though divided into several areas inside, each classy and comfortable. Plus there is a ton of parking alongside and in back. Order at the counter, a bit odd for a place this nice. Drool over the pastry case while you're there. The menu is interesting, with many good breakfast and lunch options. I went with a cup of the goulash and the salmon sandwich. The goulash was good, seasoned but not spicy, thick and meaty, with large chunks of tender beef. Perfect on a cold day. The salmon sandwich was perhaps not as fitting on a chilly day, but I love smoked salmon and had to try it. Large slabs of tasty salmon, a good bun, fresh toppings, a decent portion. Plus you get a fruit cup, which I chose, perfectly ripe pineapple plus good grapes (or you can have chips.) Service was friendly and fast, though minimal. Prices are pretty good for the quantity and quality. I was very tempted by the sweets, but we have plenty at home in this holiday season. They do have seasonal offerings and samplers/gift boxes of cookies, marzipan, etc. read more

I got married here in 2020 and had my baby shower here in 2025 so I definitely trust Mozart's with important family events. My friends and family still talk about how yummy the food and desserts are. There's something so soothing about a good cup of tea so I was so excited to try the afternoon tea at Mozart's! Who knew you could experience high tea in Columbus! The afternoon tea is by reservation only on Thursdays and Fridays so make sure to call ahead if you want to try it! The cafe also specializes in delicious baked goods and live music so you could always dine in for their regular menu or get baked goods to go. Their beautiful space is also a great spot for special events and their outdoor patio would be a perfect spot for these summer evenings! The afternoon tea came with a choice of tea (unlimited refills) and an assortment of hors d'oeurves and desserts. My favorites were the mini scones served with Devonshire cream and fruit jam, cucumber and dill, mini quiche Lorraine, and apricot linzer cookie. Our server was so sweet and attentive the whole time. Mozarts is well known, established and highly rated bakery and cafe in the Clintonville neighborhood. They have expanded over the years to include event space rentals. They were the first and only place I contacted to cater my mom's 85th birthday in one of their spaces. They made every thing so easy & stress free from the first point of contact. The event manager, Janelle was very detailed & professional. She answered all our questions and accommodated our requests. We had the champagne tea on a Saturday afternoon. I havent been to this cute little shop since they moved locations on High Street. I stopped to donate some sheet music and knew I had a grab a coffee and some sweet treats while  I was there. A few things have changed since my last review, but I still love coming to mozarts for brunch and bringing my friends. I still love the smoked salmon breakfast the most, recently my friend ordered the chicken schnitzel breakfast and really enjoyed it. You order at the bar and they bring the food to you instead of getting table service, but there's still always someone playing the piano, and still a good deal for Bloody Mary and mimosas (just not $3 like it used to be). I wish they were open on Sunday for brunch, but it's a great option for Saturday brunch. read more

I love afternoon tea and Mozarts is a top spot in Columbus for a tea. They serve the full high tea with finger sandwiches,, scones and cream,, and mini pastries.. I do believe you need a reservation for afternoon tea, but you can always drop in for a cup of coffee or tea and a pastry. My friends and I also enjoy their brunch, especially if you can score a patio table. They also offer very nicely priced brunch cocktails Mimosas and kir royales for $3, I think. The smoked salmon breakfast sandwich is very tasty, a baguette stuffed with fluffy egg and thinly sliced smoked salmon topped with cream cheese and eggs. The bread is fresh and the eggs light and fluffy. My favorite treat us the Marzipan Peach - sponge cookies with raspberry jam and a little bit if mousse, wrapped in marzipan and shaped like a cute peach. Hooray for afternoon tea! Took my mother for her birthday this past Saturday. Overall it was a fun experience, a first for both of us. I called to make reservations about a week prior. Upon arrival we were asked to be seated up front while they made sure our table was ready, this only took a few moments. After being seated we were brought out a menu with everything that would be on our 3-tier tea tray on one side and a list of tea options on the other. Each person gets to choose their own tea and is brought their own small teapot. She had the Darjeeling and I had the Apricot. On the table were two small plates, silverware, our tea cups, a strainer to catch the tea leaves atop the cup and holder to place your strainer on when done. The woman who waited on us seemed kind of rushed, she dropped our tea off and was walking away when I asked if we should let it steep for a bit. I'm not much of a tea drinker so this was all very new to me but I tried to do some research before arriving. She replied yes, for a little bit. I was hoping she would have asked if we had been there before, or if this was our first time and walked us through how everything was done. The Darjeeling was quite strong, my mom enjoyed it very much with minimal honey and cream. The Apricot had a wonderful light and fruity flavory. We were asked halfway through if we wanted our water topped off in our teapots to warm it up. You could probably get 2-3 cups maybe even 4 from one pot after being topped off. The tray came with 6 different canapes per person: Cranberry Almond Chicken Salad, Smoked Ham & Swiss, Cucumber & Dill, Smoked Salmon, Mini Quiche Lorraine, and Mini Spinach Florentine Quiche. All were very tasty and filling even being so petite. The next tray had desserts ( 2 of each) : Orange Milk Chocolate Truffle, Apricot Linzer Cookie, and Chocolate Petit Fours. The truffle was very rich with just the right amount of orange flavoring. The Linzer cookie was my favorite, not too sweet. The chocolate petit four was very sweet in my opinion but my mom said it was perfect. Great for anyone with a sweet tooth. The top tier held 4 miniature scones, served with Devonshire cream and Fruit Preserves. So yummy! (Also, if you're like me and unsure apparently the order you should eat everything is, Canapes, Scones, then Dessert. Which I assumed but Googled to be sure since the tray was presented in a different order.) One might think upon first glance that everything is very tiny but all together it was almost too much, especially if you have more than one cup of tea. We were too full to eat our desserts so we asked for a box to take them to go. Up front their were so many delicious looking desserts and pastries. I went here with some friends for brunch. The mimosas are great and the food is good. They have a nice little patio area which is super cute when the weather is nice. We wound up spending close to 4 hours here just drinking mimosas and talking, such a cool vibe and just nice people around. This place was one of my first dine-in places after getting my vaccine shots. The place is very clean and keeps patrons seated apart from each other. I went with several friends for brunch after running and enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and split an order of the potatoes with my wife. Everyone seemed to rave about the potatoes and I would agree. My family and I visited Mozart's for afternoon tea. You have a choice of tea and get this 3-tiered tray of food. As of now, tea is by reservation, so call ahead! The scones were buttery and flaky and my favorite canapés were the mini quiches. My least favorite was the smoked salmon, which had a more raw than smoked flavor. My tea was a bit weak and could have used another scoop of leaves. The piano playing during tea was fun and we enjoyed that, but otherwise the atmosphere is a bit dark and outdated. I received a Black Forest Torte cake as a late birthday gift from this bakery and WOW. It was delicious! First of all, it's beautifully decorated. I felt so guilty even cutting into it. But once I sliced a knife through it, I could tell the cake was really moist. There were layers of whip cream flavored with chocolate and cherries inside. Oftentimes, the cherry flavor is too strong, but this was perfect! The chocolate flowers weren't too rich or heavy either. Grabbed a Cranberry Chicken Salad Croissant and fruit for take out during Covid-19. Of course every item from their bakery case looked amazing and was screaming at me. I took home 3 items. We went for afternoon tea and had an okay experience. The tea was great, and the canapés and scones were very very tasty. The desserts were extremely rich, and we felt that the balance between sweet and savory items in the menu was off. The canapés were all very small (smaller than most afternoon teas we have been to), and with the scones plus desserts, there were far more sweet items on the menu. We personally would've enjoyed larger savory items in lieu of so many sweets. The service was fine, and the atmosphere was elegant but dimly lit. There's usually a piano player. I had the Kir Royale and the hummus appetizer. It was about $10 because it was happy hour. They have appetizers and some cocktails at cheaper prices. It's the only way to get me to eat. The menu is pretty expensive otherwise. It has a couple vegetarian choices. There is also a few flatbreads and these are also cheaper for the happy hour. It has some pretty exquisite things on the menu which is mostly Austrian and German. There's a bunch of schnitzels and other fancy meats. If you want fancy pastries go to Mozart's. It also has some great cocktails. The food menu is kind of pricey so stick to other stuff. read more

This review is for the bakery. For the past 3 years, my wife has ordered my birthday cake from Mozart's cafe. I am of Hungarian decent and used to enjoy Dobos torte when I was younger. A few years ago, I was feeling nostalgic and googled Dobos torte in Columbus on the off chance that there was a European bakery that made something besides German pastry in Columbus. To my surprise, Mozart's popped up and we ordered one. Dobos Torte is about 10 layers of cake and butter cream topped with caramel. This cake was just as I remembered it. Sweet, moist and rich and I was as happy as the the proverbial fat kid with cake. This year the dobos torte wasn't available for some reason and the wife ordered another Hungarian cake called an Esterházy Torte which we'd never had. This happens to be gluten free (yuck), but has always been made that way, so we figured why not. This cake is layers of meringue and rum/almond buttercream and was, according to my wife, even better than the dobos torte. It was so good that our dog decided that she was going to finish 3/4's of the cake that we had left unattended. So, to make a long post even longer, if the rest of their cakes are like the two we've had, you can't go wrong at Mozart's. They are a little pricey, but well worth it. read more

I contacted Janelle at Mozart's and a couple of other places. We selected Mozart's because of their really nice selection of dinner choices, their bar options, and very reasonable prices. They were extremely helpful in planning and making selections. When we arrived in Columbus and visited the space, I was really pleased with the lay out, the decorations, and the attention to detail. The service and quality of the food was terrific. The staff were all pleasant and attentive. They really made the event a wonderful occasion. I'm going to start by saying that I am so grateful to Mozart Cafe and Adnan and his wife. They are the wonderful family who run this marvelous bakery. And they are the reason that my birthday turned out perfectly. So here is what happened: I'm alone on my birthday due to the pandemic and it was super disheartening. To not even be able to find a birthday cake anywhere had made me so sad that I didn't even want to do anything except for cry into a bucket of ice cream while watching Netflix. And that was the plan. Then about 2 weeks prior to my bday, Mozart's began doing small pop-up sales, and I felt this glimmer of hope. Now, mind you, they were only selling a few meals and cookies at the time. It was a very very limited menu. So I figured it would be a long shot, but I sent them an email begging them to bake me a birthday cake. I picked the Esterhazy torte because it is a famous Hungarian cake and I wanted to impress my grandfather. You see my family immigrated here in the 80s and Russians make significantly different cakes than Americans. If you ask my grandfather, he will tell you that all American cakes are trash and it is impossible to find one in this city that is EVEN remotely close to the quality of a Russian torte! (Don't @ me bruh, my grandpa's 92, take it up with him)... Ok so: every birthday I have made it my goal to try to find the perfect cake. I have failed countless times. And now this year, I would have no cake at all to bring to my grandfather.. I was a bit devastated. So fast forward and it's a few days before my birthday and I go on the Mozart website to peruse and daydream.. AND THERE IT WAS! THEY ADDED THE ESTERHAZY TORTE TO THE POP-UP SALE WHICH FELL DIRECTLY ON MY BIRTHDAY!! I can't even tell you how that made me feel! I looked in my email and saw that they had written me and told me that they did it just for me and that I could order it if I wanted to. It was legit the most awesome birthday present. I obviously ordered the cake straight away! It's now my birthday and I sliced it up and brought some to my parents and my brother. And then the time had come: I went to my grandpa's with his slice. I was nervous, my palms sweaty.. You see the esterhazy is a very sweet torte. It is an interesting choice of torte because it has many layers of almond meringue intertwined with a buttercream filling and has a touch of apricot preserve. It really is one of a kind, it's rich and quite the treat. This is the kind of torte that you have strong feelings about; you either love it or you don't, there is no in between. So I've laid the slice out in front of my grandfather, I've laid out his favorite engraved silver fork that is dedicated exclusively to desserts. And now all I can do is wait on bated breath as he looks the slice over very carefully. My grandfather breaks off a small piece from the bottom with his engraved fork. It crumbles and I gasp. I really need this win, I've been at this for years now, with nothing more than the occasional grunt or a "meh". He always politely eats the slice but never asks for seconds and you can tell that he longs for the cakes of old. He picks up the corner of meringue and buttercream, giving it one last inspection before it disappears. I don't think he's even had the opportunity to finish chewing, let alone swallow before I'm asking him what he thinks. The old Russian finger goes up telling me to be quiet and wait, my impatience is killing me... He looks at me and with his thick Russian accent he says " Da (yes) Bellichka, THIS is good torte"! He agreed to a second slice for later, which I gleefully cut generously for him. I had succeeded. I had FINALLY presented my grandfather with a cake that was worthy. A cake he could enjoy genuinely and that maybe , just a little, reminded him of home....and even though, for the first time in my entire life, my whole family could not be together with me for my birthday, my day was made special and whole in a completely different way.
