    MARGHERITA pie

Upon walking up to mozzarella, you're greeted with this corner property that is dark and alluring with beautiful lighting & red napkins, first thing through the windows. When you enter the front is like any other pizzeria where you can order a slice for take away. Once you come around there's a full seating area, equipped for small and large groups. My partner had a margarita pie and a kale Caesar salad. Both were beautiful and tasty. I had the pesto with homemade pasta and grilled salmon. Also beautiful and tasty. I think the food is reasonably priced and the servers mean well. They want you to enjoy your experience and get exactly what you want. Although our server missed the mark a couple of times everything was OK. I'll be back to check out other items on the menu.

Mozzarella is truly one of the best italian restaurants I have been to in New Jersey. Everything is made fresh, the atmosphere is calm, intimate, and super clean. I have to commend the team for making us feel so welcomed. The pizza was my favorite, and the entire party enjoyed everything that was ordered. I highly recommend their black cherry soda along with ordering a nice pizza pie. I was very surprised to see that this place hasn't been reviewed on here yet!

Service was amazing. My friend and I went here for lunch on a Wednesday and they were empty. You walk in and it's a pizza counter but then to your right is an elegant dining area. My friend said they mastered a balance of casual and fancy dining. He also said he'd give this place five stars based on service. Andrew was our server. He was super informative and personable. I got the crispy eggplant sliders and penne vodka. The crispy eggplant sliders were delicious. I enjoyed that the slider is on garlic knots. I would get this again. The penne vodka was good, but I'd try something else. My friend got a salad which looked super yummy. This is a good place for a date. Just a heads up, there is service charge of 18%, and tipping is optional. Excited to go back and try something else!

Mozzarella has amazing food, service, atmosphere, and decor. Inside, outside patio or enclosed patio expect expert friendly service serving decadent and lavishly presented food that is consistently delicious. I love this little gem in South Orange.

Love this spot! Mozzarella in South Orange is such a gem -- cozy, welcoming, and BYOB (which is always a win in my book). The service was super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We tried a few comfort food staples and everything hit the spot. I'm definitely coming back to try the pizza and mozzarella sticks -- heard they're a must. The interior is really cute too, and it works well whether you're coming with a date or a small group. Great vibe all around.

    Mediterranean confit pappardelle

I've been to Mozz two separate times. I enjoy the modern Italian menu. I like a good red sauce joint as much as anybody else but we have enough of 'em around here. I think I accidentally got the same thing or similar both times because all the ingredients appeal to me so much. I ordered the Mediterranean pasta (I chose the pappardelle) which is tossed with a slow-roasted cherry tomato confit, capers, Kalamata olives and crisp, seasoned toasted breadcrumbs. I've also had the same server twice and he is VERY attentive and will carefully describe items to you and suggest his recommendations. The ambiance is casual and the decor is a sleek clean modern situation. There's a lickee store right across the street if you want to BYO. I also appreciate their eco-friendly to-go packaging.

We visit Mozzarella for lunch on a Saturday. The space is very sweet and elegantly decorated, especially for the holidays. The lunch was fine, it wasn't anything we would have to return for. We had the ribeye ciabatta and the blackened caesar wrap. It all tasted like anything from a local deli would taste. The service was friendly. I would come back to try dinner, as the pasta plates looked great.

Eggplant parm soooo good, fries are okay

Beautiful interior and the service was very friendly and attentive. We made a reservation and they were very kind to accommodate us with little notice. We ordered the eggplant parm, chicken Marsala and the fish with risotto and veggies. Everything was delicious and the prices were extremely reasonable. A quality sit down family restaurant. I would absolutely come back.

Brownie - not their strong suit
    Lauren H.

I wanted to like this restaurant but it fell short, especially for the price. The pizza (10" margherita) for $19 had a crust alike store-bought white bread and toppings that were flavorless. The two desserts, tiramisu and brownie were $8 each and pretty average. If the prices were lower I would be less critical. It's possible they shine with their pastas or other menu items, but I was dissatisfied with what I ordered.

    Mozarella sticks

Tried Mozarella for the first time tonight to meet up with friends. Pros: Convenient location Street parking available Accepts walk-ins Reasonable pricing Nice staff Nice ambiance Cons: - Bit of long wait for food - The food was missing seasoning/flavor - Known for their mozzarella sticks, but the breading was very dry and average I had an okay experience. I wish the food was better in the flavor department. The food wasn't inedible, but it was kind of bland and dry, in my opinion. Long story short, I would say i would grab maybe grab some appetizers for llunch if I was in the area, but the food doesn't really stick out to me, so I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here often.

Good place, cute design. FYI it's no longer halal. Pros: - no reservation needed for a weekend group visit, lots of space - not that expensive for the amount of food you get - lots of street parking - food tastes good! The pastas and pizza are great, the dessert and mozzarella sticks weren't that great Cons: - no longer halal, and they didn't have that update advertised when we went. We just happened to be told by the waiter that it changed - took a loooong time to get the food - the mozzarella sticks were large but not that good tbh, tasted plain and dry It's a nice place to visit if you're in the area! But I wouldn't go out of my way to go again.

The inside of Mozzarella is very homey and decorated really nicely. I would suggest having a reservation, we went on Tuesday and it was empty on arrival but completely full mid dinner. The food here was alright which was disappointing. A lot of the dishes were missing flavor or salt. We had the mozzarella sticks, truffle fries, calamari for appetizers which were okay. For my entree I had the chicken fettuccine. The chicken was good but the pasta was very bland.

Before I wrote this update, I reread my earlier review. Everything in my initial review remains…read morethe same, except one. The hummus is no longer a standard served to every table without cost. They still serve the pita and olives, but hummus is now an extra. You can thank Trump for that extra cost as per the response to our inquiry. We've now dined here several more times. It's a favorite, as it's consistently excellent. Our most recent meal was an order of hummus, which is ample for 2-4 people, the beet salad and the special crab cake appetizer, which was better than any I've had all year. Seriously exquisite. While we've sampled many of the menus main courses, all of which we have enjoyed, we went with two orders of our favorite, the tiger prawns, as they were said to be extra, extra large this evening. Served with tasty sautéed spinach and fries, which we were graciously permitted to substitute for the lemon potatoes. The tiger prawns are beyond great. Simply delicious and must be experienced. Better than lobster and rival any type of superior crab or any shellfish. Call ahead to be sure they have them when you plan to dine. This place is not to be missed.

Walking into EVOO & Lemon at 645pm on a Saturday night and seeing exactly one other table occupied…read moregave us momentary pause. Despite the moderately upscale ambiance and clean, contemporary aesthetic, the emptiness made us wonder: did we miss a memo? Was there a sudden local embargo on Mediterranean food? Luckily, the dining room eventually filled up, saving us from eating our dinner in a complete echo chamber. My dining companion and I started off with the Hummus appetizer ($11) served with a modest side of toasted pita. It was tasty and definitely hit the spot. We both decided to keep things light and ordered salads with a side of grilled salmon. I went with the Marouli salad ($16) -- crisp romaine lettuce, dill, and scallions with a lemon-olive oil dressing -- and my companion chose the Greek Village salad ($19), a shepherd-style salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, Holland peppers, feta cheese, olives, and Greek dressing. Both were fresh, well-prepared, and hit the mark. The salmon was also delicious, which is a good thing, because it came with an $18 upcharge that was not listed on the printed menu. For dessert, we ordered the baklava ($13), three pieces of an already intensely sweet treat that had apparently been subjected to an excessive dusting of powdered sugar. As for the service, our server and the food runners were competent but not overly friendly towards us or other diners. I also noticed that the staff tended to take care of tables out of order in which they were seated.. resulting in diners who arrived after us being served before us. Overall, it's a perfectly fine 3-star experience. I'd gladly go back if someone else was picking the spot, but if I'm the one in charge of dinner plans, I'll probably cast my net elsewhere in the area. PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home or stop at the Wine Shop liquor store located on the opposite corner of the intersection of Main Street and Millburn Avenue for some adult beverages to enjoy with your meal. EVOO & Lemon is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: EVOO & Lemon does not have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of on-street parking and municipal lots nearby. Use the mPay2Park app for the pay-by-plate meters ($0.50 per hour). Meters operate Monday through Saturday from 8am to 7pm; all street meters are free after 7 pm and all day Sunday. If the street is full, the Essex Street parking deck (24 Lackawanna Place) is a reliable backup.

I installed the JS app and placed my order ahead of time that way. I got the Edamame Crunch warm bowl for me. He wanted the Tokyo Super greens with tofu and a PB smoothie. This Sunday, my husband and I had lunch at the JS location in Livingston. It's nice inside! The building looks small from the outside, but it feels much roomier when you go inside. Lots of seating, toddler friendly with high chairs. Like the DQ and Twisted Tulip, there are also outdoor tables for when the weather is nice. The guy who took my order and made our salads was friendly and polite. JS promotes sustainability also, which we like and try to live by. Utensils are compostable, and JS does this reusable bowl option when ordering takeout/to-go (didn't try this yet)... We're fans and would recommend Just Salad.

I like the food here and have been coming very regularly since it opened. Probably 2-3 times a…read moremonth at minimum. The staff is generally nice enough. Not an enthusiastically happy bunch but not at all rude. Most of my complaints are likely related to management, as staff generally require training and support to be above average. My comparisons here are to Chopt, where I get elite status by March or April every year. -They forget to add the included bread at least 75% of the time. -The crispy chicken is like 1990's frozen nuggets. -The bowls for salads are shallow, small, and never close to full. -The wraps are fairly small. -Dressing amounts vary from just right to way too much. -My order is never ready on time. I've learned to order way in advance. -Drive through is great, but no waiting area or queue management (ie. "pull over there and we'll bring it out") for people who they need significant time to prepare orders for, so everyone sits in line. -Seemingly zero ventilation. It smells like you're eating in the kitchen. Very strong smorgasbord of food odors, if that bothers you. -Rewards system is ULTRA stingy about earning a free bowl (you get a raffle reward with each order and have to collect eight stamps for a free salad, but the stamps expire before you could ever possibly collect eight unless, I assume, you come nearly every day). Those are my complaints after years of eating there. On the positive side, and the reason I keep coming back: -The food is fresh. The non-fried chicken is delicious. -It's in a great location for a lot of people at the corner of Eisenhower and Route 10. -Plenty of options, including bowls. My wife likes the soup. -Drive through. -Rewards system usually gives a free snack/sweet or canned seltzer for next visit. Overall, I'm happy to eat here despite the prices not really reflecting the smaller portions. It's slightly cheaper than Chopt, but I would likely only eat at Chopt if it were closer to my house. I'll keep coming but after I received a very small salad yesterday (still delicious) and they forgot my bread again yesterday, I decided to write this, hoping someone sees it. Right now, this location has a captive market but it's a nearby quality competitor away from losing a customer.
