It's been probably a decade since I last visited this storefront. While I've purchased Mozzarita cheese in local stores, I thought it would be fun to stop at their own place. If you've never been, use a GPS app and know it's in a little industrial park right off 15th in Pompano (east of Dixie). You'll probably see orn of their delivery truck in the parking lot. A lovely woman welcomed us inside. There, we found a small shop with pastas, sauces, and a lovely assortment of Italian cookies. She showed us a price list with their cheese options. We settled on the burrata, cherry size mozzarella balls, and fresh buffalo mozzarella. The cheese is delicious and so fresh. It is just like the amazing cheese you can get at fine shops in Italy. What a gem we have this cheese maker in Pompano! Our visit was brief as sadly they do not provide a tour like they did years ago. But i will be back more frequently moving forward, especially to replicate some amazing dishes I've had with burrata lately. read more

Stumbled upon this shop while lost in the area. I immediately recognized their brand from my time as a chef at the Ritz. In my mind of course I couldn't believe my eyes, I just stumbled upon mozzarella mecca. I just had to get my hands on some cheese! Vito the owner was very nice & informed me of all their products they make daily. I decided to get fresh mozzarella however now I wished I picked up the burrata with truffle. Once I got home I sliced it, put it on top of Italian bread & added balsamic glaze. It was delicious just as I remember. The mozzarella was soft, elastic & tasted fresh! Luckily he also told me that I can find his cheese at whole foods so I don't have to make the long trek unless I want the specialty stuff. read more

A true hidden gem. I purposely came to this place because of yelp, and even driving by 10 feet away it was hard to spot. It was a little intimidating since it seemed like a warehouse without much activity. After a U-Turn and seeing signs I found it, and I'm glad I did. I'm no cheese expert, in fact I had great-value grated parm in the fridge up until yesterday. There's no chance I go back to that stuff, it tastes like plastic in comparison to their imported cheese. I've had real parm cheese once before many years ago but holy cow is this stuff legit. Heres an example... Would you eat a spoonful of your store-brand parmesan that you have in your fridge right now? Most likely not, that stuffs only there to bump up your home made spaghetti or pasta. But the grated parm from Mozzarita is above 5 start. I dont think they make it on location because it says imported on it, but it's that good it deserved its own paragraph. It's good enough you want to eat it on its own and will have to force yourself to stop. It literally melts in your mouth. The best has has to be the mozzarella twists / braids. The freshest taste I've ever had. I learned something new from the guy who helped me. Leave the mozz braids out to get room temp before eating (about an hour). SIGNIFICANTLY better. Picture chicken or steak that melts in your mouth, or the opposite where it's freezerburned meat that you overcooked and is dry and tough. It's not that black and white but it is way different and I strongly agree with him that room temp mozz is way better. I've never had Burrata before, and honestly I dont know how to describe it more than its cheese that has a creamy inside. I dont know whats really in it but that doesnt matter. It was definitely delicate especially once it was cut open. It was a little messy but possibly because I didnt know what I was doing. It was definitely amazing though and I'd get it again. I also had their ricotta cheese, and just like the others, super fresh and the best ricotta I've ever tried. Service rocked. The couple ahead of me mentioned how their first visit was back when it was cash-only, and they didnt have cash. The owner let them have their food pro bono and told them to pay next time they visited. You don't see that often but thats super nice. I apoligize if I butcher the name or spelling of the guy who helped me, Dominico, but he was super helpful and very patient. I'm very glad to have tried their cheeses and I can't wait to grab some more when I'm in town. read more

Their store consists in a tiny room inside the family-owned factory where they produce their own cheeses. The place is located in a small industrial zone squeezed between two vast residential areas and can easily be missed, as there are no signs to advertise it. However, if you want to know how an authentic Italian mozzarella really tastes, you MUST try them: I promise you will never want to buy mozzarella anywhere else. They also produce a cheese called "primo sale", a sheep milk cheese originally from the islands of Sicily and Sardinia: if you like ricotta, you will like primo sale as well (I actually prefer it to the ricotta). However, due to low demand, they unfortunately only make it for Eastern. The only downside of this place is that they are not open on weekends, so if you have a MON-FRI job and don't live relatively closed you will have to take some time off to go there, but... you won't regret it! read more

Always on the hunt for the best food ingredients, my wife and I stopped by Mozzarita. Inside they are handmaking cheese, and have a tiny factory store where you can buy their cheese and some imported Italian items. We purchased Buffalo Mozzarella, Burrata and Whey butter. All were "out of this world" delicious and fresh - definitely best of the best. When you enter the store (the size of a large closet) a factory worker comes out to process your transaction, which involves going back into the factory to fetch your fresh cheese. I read about Mozzarita in the cheese section at Whole Foods and for months had been saying I need to go check it out. I finally did yesterday and am kicking myself for not going sooner! The actual store is not what one might expect, I wasn't even sure I should open the door without knocking. Found them in Parkland on the Green Market and tasted their WHEY BUTTER! All I can say is : VERY TASTY! Reminds me of my childhood...with homemade butter. This place could really use a store front or at least a sign or something that says where to go and what to do. I drove by twice thinking it was closed or not open to the public. The number I found for them was not working and one of the doors looked like it had been kicked in and the place got broken into. I finally decided to park and walk up to the back entrance which was pretty much a garage door. I stood there looking in and saw people working. After a minute someone noticed me and they came back to see if I needed help. I asked if there was stuff for sale and she opened a side door and it was a small room filled with Italian pastas, sauces and more. I was there for one reason and one reason only... burrata cheese. I asked if she had any burrata and she said absolutely. Each 6oz container of burrata ran $5 and it was WELL WORTH IT. Much cheaper than I can find it in Vegas for that size and it is made fresh on premises. I bough two containers. Outside of the fact that it felt like a drug deal out of the back door of a business, this place is a hidden gem! Please put up a sign or a bell or something instructing people! Mozzarita sells cheese at the Hollywood Farmer's Market on the weekends. I decided to make my own Caprese sandwiches with the local incredients found at the market, so I picked up some Mozzarita. Was very pleased with the quality of the mozzarella and quite frankly one of the best caprese sandwiches you'll have, if you ask what kind of mozz will make the best caprese sandwich.
