After searching Yelp for house painters, I contacted four painters with mixed reviews, MP painting being the best reviewed. Manuel's price was not the bargain basement cheapest, but was very competitive. The thing I appreciated the most about his initial estimate was that he was willing to meet with me *the day I called*, and he did not make me feel as though he were trying to sell me something I didn't need. He was very matter of fact, yet polite and professional. I also like that he did everything himself, from the estimate, to the cleaning, masking, and painting. No B-team crew, or day-labor assistants came to our house. When I asked Manuel why he preferred to work alone he replied "I've hired help before, but they never do what you tell them to". This told me that Manuel takes pride in his product, and later on it showed. Manuel did a great job from start to finish. He began when he said he would, and finished when he said he would. Throughout, he was respectful of not only our property, but our neighbors as well. He did a fantastic job masking off the areas that obviously should not be painted. I have yet to see anything that makes me think "I wish he hadn't painted that". He even went as far as to remove what external fixtures he could, rather than just masking them off. This ensures that no paint gets on them (ie: external lights, electrical boxes, etc). The only slightly critical thing I could say about the job was that my bushes got a little bit dominated; but as they were literally touching the side of the house, I don't see that much could have been done to spare them. Manuel removed the branches that were necessary and covered the rest with a drop cloth. If you're a stickler about pruning your own shrubs/trees like I am, just make sure you get it done before the job starts. The end result still looks fantastic and is worth five stars. When it's time to do the interior, I plan on hiring MP Painting. read more

I hired Manuel to paint the interior of my home in Livermore after a friend of mine had used him for a number of projects at her house. He was fabulous! Showed up for the estimate. I actually received the estimate! He showed up when he was supposed to and stayed within the estimate so there were no surprises at all. I've hired Manuel several times through the years for both interior and exterior work on my large two story house and he's done an excellent job every time. His attention to detail is so good and he takes great care with all the baseboard and crown molding trim work. He has done work for some of my neighbors as well and everyone is pleased. I have no problem giving him complete access to my house and have even gone on vacation while he's working on a job for me. Manuel was great! He met with me and gave me a very competitive quote. He went up and beyond to paint the interior of my house. My wife and I are very meticulous when it comes down to detail, and Manuel did a fantastic job for us. We bought a new development home that had multiple issues that needed to be addressed by our home builder. These issues would cause complications on the timing when Manuel could paint our home since the home builder had to fix our issues prior to Manuel painting our home and even in the middle of it. This meant that he would need to re-paint certain areas again because the home builder needed to make repairs on our walls, baseboards and door trims. He never complained at all and was very accommodating as we got our home builder to fix our home during the times he came over to paint our home. I gave Manuel the keys to my home since my wife and I are consistently away since we work far. We had no issues trusting him with our keys and never needed to micro manage his work since he could come and go as he pleased. He was always great with communication and very easy to reach.
