Just had my first dining experience here. The remodel looks beautiful. It's updated and spacious, doesn't give you a cramped feeling. The staff are incredibly friendly and happy. I feel like you don't see that enough these days. I got a turkey club (the presentation was beautiful) with the home made fries (which are seasoned and just delish) and tried the cream of chic soup. Which was creamy and the chic in it is moist and fresh. My father had the biscuits and gravy and let me steal a bite. I honestly can't wait to get a plate of my own. The only bad thing I can say is the food is soooo delicious I wish I could keep eating until it was all gone but I can't because the portions are so generous. read more

Mr. A's became my family's favorite breakfast restaurant after our first visit when they opened. Since then, the food and service have consistently been exceptional. Recently, the Conant Boosters used Mr. A's catering for Conant High School's staff breakfast. They were amazing in every way! The price was competitive, they were able to accommodate a 7:15am delivery and the food was delicious! All feedback was positive and we had a happy staff. A good local place to go for breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Three of us for breakfast today and all three choices from the menu were very good. Carrot cake pancakes were excellent, second choice A's ham and biscuits with gravy and 2 eggs also good. Large pieces of delicious ham under the gravy. Yum. Third choice was just sunny side eggs with hash browns. Eggs cooked just right but the odd thing you couldn't order just two eggs you could only have three. This seemed strange to me. Everything we had today we enjoyed. Took home leftovers of the biscuit and gravy. It was a huge portion. Our server Allie very good. read more

Mr. As is our favorite local breakfast restaurant. My wife and I come here regularly and often bring our grown children and today our 4 year old nephew. The coffee is the best diner coffee we've had, and the service is always outstanding. The thing they're known for is their ham and it never disappoints. It's always tender, flavorful and perfectly cooked. We always have a great dining experience when we're here, which is why we always come back. Tried this place for carry-out lunch, today. I must say, I was impressed! Driving back to work with the delicious smells coming from the bag, was sheer torture! They're corn beef n hash is out of this world, crispy hash browns, fluffy and scrumptious pancakes and awesome cottage cheese The service there's was great each time as well. I have an intricate scale in which i rate my lunch spots, this is a 10.0. Breakfast is their forte, especially when it comes to the ham (by god, the ham). Classic diner with the highest quality of service and cuisine. Even their straws (bear with me) are larger in circumference (just like McDonalds) which makes a cherry coke around noon time all the more pleasant. Best hash browns in the game as well. One of us ordered the ham and egg which was stupendously delicious but, unfortunately, I ordered the corned beef hash skillet and worked hard to locate any corned beef. It was like digging for gold nuggets in a long played out mine. I did share my disappointment with the waitress, who was super nice, and was told that the corned beef came from a can! Yeesh. It consisted mostly of potatoes, green peppers and onions. 'Where's the beef?" If you love corned beef hash as much as I do please save yourself the disappointment and do not order it here. First but definitely not last time here. Noticed it as I was driving by early one weekday morning and the parking lot had a lot of cars in it. Figured if that many cars were there that early in the morning, the place had to be good. So checked the Yelp reviews and realized I had to try it. Wasn't disappointed. First thing we noticed was an outgoing great team that seemed excited to be there working together to provide friendly and quick service to all its customers. Next thing that caught our attention was its extensive breakfast menu offering a large variety of options that goes way beyond the standard eggs, meat and potatoes breakfast from homemade crepes, to Benedict's served more ways than I've ever seen, to red velvet French toast and much much more. Whoever thought of putting country style gravy on an omelette was a genius! The Denver skillet was incredible with four eggs and lots of ham off the bone. We ordered fruit as a side ... freshest and best tasting fruit I have had at a restaurant in years. Whoever does their purchasing, cooking, and quality checks really is committed to a great customer meal and experience. If you haven't been here before, be sure to go ... and if you've been here before and it's been a while, you know what I'm talking about ... it's time to get back soon. It's great to have an old friend move close to you! Mr. A's is owned by the same people who owned Mr. Allison's years ago. Super happy they've moved so close (3/4 of a mile away. I had a Ruben sandwich (only because I wasn't certain it was the same owners) and it was great. Service was outstanding. Servers were attentive without hovering over you. When we were close to finishing our meal our server came over, handed me the bill and said "No hurry. Take your time." How many times have you heard that before, right? Well, this server actually seemed to mean it. Overall great food, great staff, and a nice clean, modern interior. They're only open for breakfast and lunch. By the way, the original restaurant was famous for it's ham-on-the-bone. Next time, which will be soon I'm getting the ham & eggs! First time visitor. Went with wifey and mom-in-law after church this past Sunday. As one who really does an analysis on restaurants, you start to see a "pattern". Ah, lower prices, hmmmm, food will be sub par then. WRONG! Probably serve very small portions! WRONG! uh...servers are deficient and few? WRONG AGAIN! Selection: Plentiful. Service: EXCELLENT. Prices: Extremely reasonable. Serving size: VERY Satisfying. 1. I was encouraged to try the ham & split pea-soup. I was a bit hesitant, but willing. I didn't like it. Mom-in-law took it and said it was fantastic. Our server Laura, said she would bring me another soup of my choice to have as a re-placement. I had some of my wife's Chicken soup instead, and REALLY wished I had taken Laura up on her offer. 2. I had the Spicy Beef Panini. Fantastic! Took home the other half for lunch today. Wifey had the Corn Beef and Swiss Panini. 3. The 3 of us were also EXTREMELY shocked and pleased with the GENUINE care,concern,and attentiveness from our server Laura. My family and friends and I gather here regularly, usually on busy Sundays after church. The lady who runs the front end is exceptional. Servers are fast, courteous, and make an effort to learn your names, and actually remember you when you return! We have also had their ham which is offered during the holidays, everyone loved it. Mr. A's does a lot of things well. First, they are very friendly when you walk in the door. The service is prompt and quick. Chloe was our server and was EASILY one of the nicest, most accommodating, and pleasant servers I've been around. The stuffed biscuit was very tasty and the gravy was very flavorful. The portions are huge here and they seem to be a very busy place. We will definitely return for another experience and will ask to sit with Chloe again because she clearly enjoys what she does. We overheard her say that she had just started, well if that's true, the restaurant has a winner in her. Only knocks were the draft every time the door would open, though not a whole lot they can do about it, and the busser dropped off waters nearly slamming them on the table and his finger were all over the lips of the glasses, so we didn't bother drinking them... simply because ..well.. gross.
