The tacos are some of the best we have in Bakersfield. The service is fast. There's eat in if needed. They always keep a supply of salsas, relish, lemons, etc for your tacos in the salsa bar. You can take as much as you'd like. Many places give you these in small containers which limit you, if you're like me that loves salsa drowned tacos. read more

Okay so let me tell pay no attention to the outside they do have some solid things on their menu and some things that are just okay. Maybe depends on the day? Today was a good day for Pastor Sope!!! It was loaded with so much goodness like in the menu photo with the red background I posted today no joke. Just had the carne asada fries here and I will say, these by far the best I've had in Bakersfield and some of the best outside of San Diego. I only wish they made their own guacamole. I added avocado instead and the flavors were definitely there but I think it was just missing that one thing. This is a solid choice for tacos. Prices aren't too high and the food is pretty good and clean; not drowning in grease. This is a lot better than some other La Villa's I've been to. It's close to the office, so I grab tacos here pretty often. I stick with carne asada and or shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos are pretty flavorful; just a bit just smaller than what I'm used to. Luckily the price reflects that. The chicken tacos are just a bit on the dry side. Maybe soon I'll explore more of the menu. 3 strong stars. Maybe it's the time of day that we go but I was definitely satisfied with everything. Yes it's more of a hole in the wall, but I like those kind of spots. I had my usual torta de carne asada and it was delicious! Nice hot bread, meat was seasoned well, everything in it was good. The salsa was okay. Too watery for my taste. Unacceptable service. I wouldn't even have placed a star, but it's obligated. Made an order over the phone before picking up a wrong order, but didn't catch it until arriving home. Called to report issue over the phone and after explaining the issue, the phone was passed to another employee resulting in myself having to explain the simple error over again. They offered to remake the order and asked if I'd pick it now or later and I ensured they understood I'd pick it up now. Upon arrival, the issue had to be explained again before the staff argued the incorrect order isn't even an order option. Nonetheless, I explained I didn't obtain what I paid for and kept receiving confused looks before I asked a bystander to assist in explaining the issue AGAIN. EVENTUALLY, I was provided my order only to return home and realize they failed to provide me half of my paid order. Of all the Tacos La Villa locations in Bakersfield this one is THE ONE. Everything I've ever had to eat from this particular location has been unequivocally delicious. The Birria de Chivo is awesome; plenty of deep, goaty flavor without the faint uric acid taste that goat sometimes has. All of the different meats available for tacos are always on point- be it tripas, carne asada, al pastor or lengua. They always have fresh condiments available for you to add to your meal: cilantro mixed with onion, picked onions and carrots, and usually 2 or 3 different salsas. Tonight,I walked 4 blocks to get it.I asked for sour cream but when I got home I realized they didnt put any.I was upset but hey people make mistakes i'll just go back and ask them to fix it. So I get there..Lady with long braid asks me, "do you want it on the side or in the burrito?" I say no, can you please make me a new burrito that burrito is cold now because I walked here.She retorts,"No, you have to buy a new burrito" i said nicely, no way you guys are the ones who didnt make it right in the first place,can you please just make me a new burrito? I always come here and I shouldn't be treated this way."Well, maybe he put in the middle?"I said,no I already checked :/ . At that point the cook throws the burrito away, his demeanor to me suggested that he was pissed that he had to make another burrito for me.he started making the burrito but then runs out of sour cream (the bottle was making that"time to throw it out" noise at first squirt).I politely ask,can I please have a little more thats barely anything at all (you could barely see the sour cream ;honestly I really wasn't trying to be annoying I work at Del Taco,we dont even do that to our customers :'[ especially if we made the food wrong ).
