I recently visited Mr. Baker and had a mixed experience. I ordered the tiramisu latte, and unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The flavor was very watered down and didn't have the rich coffee and tiramisu taste I was expecting. On the positive side, I also tried the confetti cake slice and the carrot cupcake, and both were delicious. The cake was moist, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of my visit. The pastries seem to be the best part . The café itself is very spacious with plenty of indoor seating, making it a comfortable place to relax or meet up with friends. There is also outdoor seating available, which is a nice option on a pleasant day. Overall, while I wasn't impressed with the tiramisu latte, I really enjoyed the desserts. I'll definitely be back, but next time I'll be sticking to the pastries and cakes.

I had a great experience at Mr. Baker! Madison and Sylvia were both very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed a cookie and a hot latte, and both were delicious. The service was excellent, and I look forward to coming back again.

I needed a cake last minute for a coworker's birthday and stopped by on a Friday morning. Thankfully the line wasn't too bad. I picked the strawberry cake and they were able to write a simple birthday message on it for me. The young lady who helped me was really nice and helpful. I also got a plain croissant, which was pretty good. Everyone at work enjoyed the cake. The strawberries tasted fresh, the cake itself was light, and the whipped cream frosting was just sweet enough without being too much. Definitely a good option if you need a cake on short notice.

Place needs to be cleaned asap. Patio needs to be power washed, windows cleaned. The customer service lacked and wasn't welcoming. Food wasn't the best I got a chocolate croissant and it had a gummy texture to the chocolate inside. Coffees were okay nothing special. I tried it won't be back and don't recommend.

I decided to give Mr Baker a second try, the first time was a bust! I hate writing bad reviews so came here again and was very pleased with my visit. This time, customer service was nice. The store is clean and all the desserts here taste and look amazing! This time we tried their lattes: Spanish latte and dirty chai...both were good. We also tried the ham and cheese croissant, that was delicious! I can see myself coming back if I ever want an elegant dessert!

This was my first time doing a custom cake order I did not know what to expect but I found Mr. Baker while searching for custom cake places and I came across them. They do require a 2 week notice for custom orders but i did not and was very lucky they got me in on a very short notice. My order came out the way I envisioned to look like and received it on time, my experience was simple but yet easy and oh! the cake was absolutely delicious and my girlfriend absolutely loved it as well.

So, I've been coming here for years. This is my trusty, nearby baker in case I need anything in a pinch, like a good birthday cake. The staff were friendly and readily available to take my order. I love their strawberry croissants and they've been one of my favorites for many years, now. We got a few little treats and everyone liked what they chose. A good bakery with gorgeous cakes and a large variety of smaller portions. A little on the pricier side, but that hasn't deterred me from going just yet. Ambience is peaceful, cafe is spacious and clean with a small outdoor patio. Dog friendly! (They sell doggy treats, too!)

I've been wanting to try this bakery for a while. I decided to go on a whim recently, and the desserts I chose were not bad at all. I ordered the strawberry croissant, and the red velvet cupcake. I'm not really into strawberries, but it was pretty, so I bought it. I took a bite big enough for me to taste it, and it was good, just not for ME, because, again, it was made of one of my least favorite fruits. I gave the remaining to my daughter who thought is it was really good. She's a gem at baked goods and cooking, might I add, so I'd take her word for it.. :) Now, Red velvet is my absolute favorite flavored cupcake. The problem is, it's complex and although I've had many, there has been only 3 in my lifetime that were pretty much perfect-one being here in CA. This one was perhaps slightly better than others I've tried, and worth the taste. Let me add, that the cream in the croissant, and the frosting on the cupcake was light, fluffy and delicious. Now that is where they excelled on MY visit. It's probably the first time I didn't feel the need to take some of it off of a cupcake. I also ordered a caramel latte, I'll just leave that there. Anyway, the customer service was good, and the restaurant is very nice. It's clean and well kept. I will return and try more of the cupcakes for sure, perhaps some of the other beautifully decorated cakes as well. I think this cafe is worth a visit for sure.

Wanted to try this cafe for a while but always around during the Saturday farmers market so never got the chance until recently. The service was a little awkward no warm welcome even tho they were empty the employee was just standing in the front waiting for us to order. We got a tiramisu latte pumpkin cookie and pecan bar. The bar was great not overly sweet the cookie was nothing special not a lot of flavor but not bad for the coffee it's a little on the stronger side so if you like sweet I would ask for a few mods but it wasn't bad at all. Was overall okay 6/10

Loved every bit of it!! It's a bit pricey but I believe it was worth it. I bought the mixed berry cake for my moms birthday and it was so good. Everyone agreed that it was one of the best cakes they've had. With the price you pay it better be though. I will definitely be going back to try a slice of some of the other cakes they have. I think that is very cool that they sell individual slices of their cakes. read more

Custom Cake review : This is my daughter's first birthday custom cake from Mr. Baker! It was an awful experience. We had given the head baker a digital and hard copy of the cake we wanted and he promised us not to worry. Nothing came out as we wanted...nothing! The cake flavor, filling, frosting, colors, fondant.. all wrong! It looked messy with random black specks all over. To top that he doesn't even know how to make a simple 10" cake stand properly, as you can see the center sunk down. It was a disaster! In addition, when We went to pick up the cake, it wasn't ready. We noticed something that worried us a lot, as he was finishing up the cake a piece of fondant fell on the ground and he attempted to put it back on the cake, but noticed us looking so he threw it away instead. This was a total shock and sign of lack of honesty. He looked at us to see if we noticed, knowing he was doing something absolutely wrong! We were so sad we received this kind of service for a special day like this. We are definitely not going back there again! read more

I used to love coming here to get their green tea croissants and strawberry croissants. So I decided to get some today to share with my coworkers. They don't make the greet tea croissants anymore but still make the strawberry croissants. I went around 10 am there were no customers. I should have taken that as a sign. I saw the strawberry croissants in the case and they shrunk in size (I haven't been in a few months) and the price rose too but I still decided to get them. As soon as I went inside I was not acknowledged then I waited at least 10 minutes and no one came up to me to ask if I was ready. And one of the girls saw me come in too. Terrible customer service, not only the girls are slow, they don't even know if they are able to take orders or not, they said the lady in charge Alexis would be there next day, and call to place the order, I called next day at hours they suggested Alexis not there, I was put on hold for a while only to be told that they Can't take an order for a cake at this time! I used to buy cakes for every birthday here for a few years now, but not anymore, everything has changed from staff to the taste of the cakes, won't be going back. read more

The head baker is a horrible person. He dropped a filling on the floor and had the nerve to scrap it up off the floor and asked his people to try it. The owners are totally fooled by this baker because he acts nice to them but treats his bakers like trash. I've tried his pastries and they are nothing special at all but he sure thinks they are great. I won't spend my money here because the head baker treats the workers like trash. read more

I was disappointed. As an experienced home baker, I thought the items I tried were just okay. The chocolate chip cookie was mediocre and the cream puff had clearly been frozen. It was icy in the middle and had a unpleasant "freezer" taste. And, the chocolate tasted artificial. That being said, the ambiance of the cafe was pleasant and all the cakes and pastries looked beautiful. read more

We LOVE Mr. Baker bakery. My husband and I come alone as well as with our kids! Super great pastries and cakes. Perfectly balanced flavors and not overly sweet! I plan on buying whole cakes in the future for parties and special occasions. So far I have just tried the individual slices! Carrot cake and coconut cake. Both GREAT! To tell you the truth I am not even a cake person! But, this is creamy icing instead of harsh sugar sweet balanced with real ingredients that taste better than homemade! Go here to grab a slice of cake and a cappuccino, you won't regret it! They offer savory food as well. The bakery is humble on the outside but has big flavor on the inside! read more

I bought each of 3 slices cake flavors-mocha blast,cappuccino & double chocolate I loved the 2 flavors the cappuccino & double chocolate its buttercream but it's different among the bakeshop I've been it's really good!!! Just happened to stop in for a coffee and something sweet to eat and I was so happy I did. First and foremost the cafe latte with a shot of vanilla was SO good. Not only was my drink very tasty but it was so pretty to look at. After checking in I receive a free croissant and the young man helping me informed me there was a choice of three different croissants that were available to me. I chose the cronuts, it was excellent. I am very particular cream fillings, so many of them taste old, too sweet, or just not quite right but this cream filled cronut was excellent. I took some time just to enjoy the prettiness of all their pastries, and their pastries are very pretty. I will definitely be back to try one of there a many other pastry selections. Also just wanted to mention they also have a nice sandwich selection, soup and adult beverages. I wish I had caught the young man's name Who provided me with service today, because the service was excellent. read more

Fell in love with this place at first visit. Their cupcakes are reasonably priced, and their slices of cake so good. Everything they bake is fresh, tasty, and I'm not a big fan of cookies but they got like gallons of those too,for some reason. It's a nice place to sit down&have coffee w/a friend. The owner is horrible to his employees. He's always yelling at them. Aside from that the pastries aren't very good. I had a red velvet cupcake that tasted like a boxed cake mix and and it was dry. I also tried an eclair that was really plain tasting. For the food alone I would probably give 2 or 3 stars, but the way this guy treats his employees gets him 1 star. read more

Excellent cookies and coffee those deserve 5 stars. The reason for the 2 stars is the terrible and inconsistent customer service. Came in one day and received excellent customer service and the place had a great atmosphere, came in again today to staff who seemed miserable and unfriendly to families with small children. read more

I enjoyed this location Its quaint nd peaceful. I bought a cheese and ham croasaunt snack that tastes like a rich mans hot pocket. Small and satisfying. I got a stone ipa in a can (6.9 % ALC) for just 4.50. Its right next to the Terra Vista 6 movie theatre. Great place to have a drink or two that'll buzz u up before the movie. Jackson 5, Al Green and Stevie Wonders on the speakers really adds to the relaxed vibe. Like sunday morning breakfast w your tio's oldies mix playing in the backround. They got ALOT of beautiful cakes and pastries for sale ( 40 + options I'd say) and they sale em by the slice. Didn't try but they look soo good. PS- The bathroom is amazing. Looks better than mine. Clean and stylish. Very homely. read more

If you're planning on ordering a cake from here-Don't. My mom paid for a cake + delivery for 5pm on a Saturday for a party. At 7:30 we called to ask where the cake was since it was supposed to be delivered two and half hours ago and they said "Ya no one is here to deliver it." Someone had to leave our party to go pick it up. Unprofessional. Unacceptable. Terrible customer service. Don't even step foot here and take your business somewhere else!! read more

Really loved this place at first and was a regular until this past Tuesday. Decided to try something new and ordered a honey almond slice of cake. Called my nieces over to eat it and the first bite tasted rancid. Had other family members taste it to make sure and they all agreed that the cake tasted rancid and believed it had been sitting on the shelf for a a while. Not coming back again. This is my second time to order a cake from Mr. Baker and once again, they knocked it out of the park! This time I ordered a cake shaped like a soccer ball. Not only did they fashion the cake out of hexagonal fondant pieces, but they even were so detailed as to include tiny stitches around each hexagon. It looked phenomenal and was such a hit at the birthday party! I cannot recommend these cake artists highly enough. read more

This is a great place to stop in for a breakfast or lunch treat. Everything tastes amazing and the presentation is beautiful. Two of my favorites are the green tea croissant and the berry cake with whipped cream frosting! And the Dutch Cold Brew coffee is great too! read more

Instead of handling it professionally, the owner became defensive and dismissive. During the call, we were spoken to in a condescending and hostile tone. I responded in a condescending tone to match theirs, and the owner abruptly hung up. After the call, the owner later sent a text instructing us not to contact the business again, even though we had not called or texted back. The deposit was refunded, but the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional. This was never about the additional $15. It was about honesty, transparency, and professionalism. Instead of acknowledging the misunderstanding, the owner doubled down, deflected blame, and personally attacked a customer. Even more concerning is that the owner's response tries to attack my character publicly instead of addressing the facts. They brought up a dealership review from eight years ago, which was simply about negotiating a vehicle purchase, to claim we "bully" businesses. This is irrelevant and clearly an attempt to discredit us rather than take responsibility. Based on this experience, it is clear that accountability does not exist at this business, and that they are more focused on trying to silence or detract from what occurred than taking responsibility. Update: Additionally, after I responded to the original reply, the business owner edited their response and changed the story, context, and accusations in an apparent effort to further discredit me. I have attached screenshots showing the original version of the post for transparency. Update 2: The business owner previously responded by publicly sharing my private information. I reported the comment to Yelp, and Yelp removed it after determining it fell outside their Content Guidelines. In my opinion, publicly sharing a customer's private information is unacceptable.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience deserves to be addressed. The service at this location is consistently terrible. The employees always seem to be in a bad mood, rushing customers instead of welcoming them. We arrived at 6:15 PM on a Sunday evening -- a full 45 minutes before closing -- yet the staff repeatedly told us that we had to leave by 6:30 because the dining area was "closed," even though the store hours clearly state they close at 7:00. We felt pressured, unwelcome, and frankly disrespected for simply wanting to enjoy a quick dessert after dinner. The attitude of the employees makes it seem like the management is either extremely harsh with them or doesn't care at all about how they treat customers. Either way, it reflects very poorly on the leadership. We were just trying to relax and enjoy our evening, but instead, we left frustrated. I strongly urge a manager to reach out and explain why this kind of behavior is tolerated -- it's unacceptable for a business that depends on customer service. read more

I walked and One lady in a black coat was yelling and cursing infront of customers and didn't seem to care, she kept touching her phone and then would touch the food, gross. It looks nice and the pastries look decent (I've seen better cakes at vons) but as I was looking around a man in a white jacket came out of the back and I heard him say "stupid f***ing b****" referring to one of the employees! This made me not want to give business to this place right away then to top it off the skinny guy barista (I'm assuming cause he was making drinks) that was "helping me" was so rude and acting as if he just wanted to go home and I was an inconvenience to him. I have visited a few times when I get a sweet tooth. The variety of pastries is excellent. A big fan of the cookies and cream cake and my boyfriend loves the chocolate peanut butter cupcake. Terrible. Save your money! I haven't been here in months maybe a year because the last time I went the berries on the piece of cake I was eating had mold on them. I called but the manager wasn't in and never called me back. I went yesterday to try it again and the cake was awful. Dry, no flavor and had 2 slices of strawberry for a 3 layer piece of cake.
