    2pc white meat dinners

I've been coming here since I was little. As always the roasted chicken was fresh and delicious. The cole slaw is one of my favorites around (unique since the cabbage is ground up). We enjoyed wedge potatoes and onion rings. Just a heads up, the dining room closes at 8:30, but the carryout counter was open until 9:30pm. Still with short hours since Covid, maybe there isn't enough staff. The cashier was friendly and efficient.

The best broasted chicken hands down and has been for a good 20 years I know for sure! This is way better than Chicken Shack and I have always been devestated that there isn't an east location. Driving from Rochester Hills is a bit much! The chicken is JUICY! The coleslaw is wayyy better than KFC! Broasted potatoes are great too! The only downside is the waitresses are kids and they truly do not care to have that job. My waitress completely ignored me, took forever for her to come wait on us and there weren't many people in at the time. There were 2 waitresses and they both were slow, inaccurate, and careless. I would have much rather served myself with their attitudes. Get the carryout!

Chicken breast - so juicy, so tasty! (June, 2025)

It's been years since I've had Mr. Chicken, and it is even better than I remembered. The breasts are so juicy. They have the best pressure fried chicken, and beat the other chicken places.

On a search for Good Fried Chicken without hitting any Fast Food Chains. Didnt want to just buy a bucket and make sides, didnt want to get it to go, didnt want to spend an arm an a leg. After searching and reading Menus, I found Mr. Chicken. Close enough, had been around for years, reviews were ok, menu had a bucket deal with sides and had fried mushrooms as an appetizer; i was sold. This is one of those places you drive by and dont pay attention to. We walked in, seated ourselves in the old carpeted dining room, and were attended to quickly. Given a menu that i looked over, even tho i knew i was getting the 8 pc Bucket Deal that came with fries/wedges and coleslaw. Good thing i looked again tho, I saw we could ask for half fries and half wedges. Sounds good to me, I want to try both. Waitress took our order, I said half and half please, she closed her order book and said a pint of coleslaw comes with. We ordered the Score 4 which is fried onion rings, cauliflower, mushroom and zucchini. Amazing. While we waited I watched as numerous carry outs came and left, and the dining room filled up almost completely. Food came out literally in 10 minutes. All together. A bowl of Chicken and Rice cuz i need to try soup everywhere. It was good, a bit salty but good. Small loaf of bread Now, The sheer amount of potatoes on that plate was astounding. The wedges were piled up and fries were stacked. And the coleslaw? Yeah that pint was HUGE. Falling out of the bowl, finely miced and super wet. More than enough for us 2, more than enough for 6 probably. We ate and ate and it still didnt put a dent in it. Now the reason for our visit, the Chicken was FANTASTIC. Crusty, Crispy, flavorful and moist. Hot and juicy and flavorful. Pieces weren't huge but just the right size. We each ate 2 pieces and honestly could have went for another but we wanted leftovers haha. Next time ill get the 12 piece lol. It's one of those places you never go, but once you do, youll always go back.

Not too much to say, I've been here about 20 times. The ribs and great, tender fall off the bone and the chicken is moist and crispy.

Look at the meaty chicken thighs! Lightly battered and crispy chicken with crunchy onion rings and yummy slaw.

I usually eat at my desk, reading emails as I munch on a salad or the weekly special. However, when my friend suggested that we continue our fried chicken odyssey at lunchtime on a recent Friday, I was totally game. We rarely take time out for lunch (maybe five times a year) so this was a double-treat. The restaurant looks like a throwback to the 60s, with extraneous walls blocking the view, unlike more updated spaces, acoustic ceiling tiles, and tight booths. I had glanced at the menu prior to the visit but all thoughts of healthier eating disappeared when my friend announced she would be having the 4-piece Chicken Dinner. That sounded too good to pass up. The chicken was lightly battered and seasoned. Crisp and crunchy, the chicken was steaming hot and juicy. It was perfectly cooked. Yum. The dinner comes with two sides. I selected the onion rings, because, onion rings. The coleslaw was slightly sweet, not too creamy and not too vinegary. It was a refreshing complement to the meal. In an effort to minimize calories, a long-ago article in the NYT indicated that the calories in a rotisserie chicken breast without the skin is only slightly less caloric than that of fried chicken breast without the skin. So there, a way to enjoy this meal without the massive guilt. The server was chatty and friendly. We felt that she went out of her way to make our visit special.

Here chicken...chicken... Come out and play!!! (Weird I know) Ok for people saying the ranch is oh so good - true but it isn't an extra 84 cents good for a small size container. (No thank you next time) I think this place is very reasonable especially their side of onion rings - the small to me looks like a large and that's all you would need unless you are sharing which I usually don't do. Yes i'm greedy so sue me!!! I've eaten at many chicken spots and unfortunately they usually need seasoning added which I HATE - ugh but this place here has me sold. Its nothing you need to do but just eat them; as of right now i've been getting a carry-out which only takes about 10mins and the food isn't sitting under a light or anything. You can see the guys in the back cooking away. Thanks for giving good service. **Also try there apple-dutch pie (Yummy)**

Not always the cleanest place but always good food, with big good shrimp. Now you have new owners, some Caldean or Arabs have taken over. Sorry not meaning to offend, but I don't know the difference. Its been maybe a year. So any reviews before this don't apply. So first the food. I come mostly for the shrimp. At first it sucked. The shrimp were all stuck together, at one point they were butterfly shrimp, again all stuck together, don't get it. I stopped coming for a few months. Came back the middle of Oct, ordered half a pound of shrimp and 5 wings about 2 in the afternoon. They said 15 min. I arrive in 15 minutes. My shrimp was done but the guy says another 5 minutes for the chicken. I told him never mind it you haven't dropped the chicken, I don't want to wait. He got an attitude, now I though the chicken hadn't been dropped and didn't want to wait. It had been dropped and I was willing to wait but DID NOT LIKE HIS ATTITUDE AND WAS QUICK TO TELL HIM, DON'T GET AN ATTITUDE WITH ME. Still there was no other orders so why was my chicken not done with my shrimp. They changed from a cardboard box, to Styrofoam. Everybody knows that the box keeps the shrimp Christy and the Styrofoam makes the shrimp sweat and get soft ans sweaty. So I had to wait on the chicken while my shrimp got sweaty. Ok we have coved the food and the service. The ambiance is starting to look better. They have put in new refer units and some monitors which are not on yet but I guess are coming soon. So back to the food. So next week the fresh fish house up the street a little had on Wednesday one pound of jumbo shrimp for 16.99. The shrimp are small and one pound of their jumbo shrimp does not even compare to a half pound of really jumbo shrimp from redford fish, look at the photo from redford I included. So all and all the shrimp has come back to not being stuck together and is still quite good. Basically they are coming along, I gave a 3 star because the guy behind the register has no social skills. And no matter what happens you need to remember that here in America the customer is always right. Not to mention that here in Detroit, if you give attitude you'll get attitude and loose the customer. I still will go there so long as they keep the shrimp the way it is. But if you can't deal with the public, you will loose customers. And bring back to cardboard boxes to keep the shrimp Christy and save the landfills of tha Styrofoam that hangs around for years. Now look at the half pound of jumbo shrimp and when you go to fresh fish house you'll see its better and bigger here.

Ok my review was just added but the photo didn't come up. Ill try again, so anyway the food is good…read morethe service sucks. Please red my other review a few minute ago.
