I think this place is overrated ... the food taste in general is not good but the price is ok for a quick meal ...

5 stars plus!!! This is the real China experience. Bonnie, our server, was delightful, I felt like she treated us like special guests. We ordered 2 dishes. The signature Sauerkraut fish is unbelievable, I savored every bit. The fish was fresh and the flavors were perfect. The Sichuan style poached slice fish (B5) was also sensational, and not unlike what you would be served in China. The bathrooms are through the kitchen and I was able to see how spotless the keep all their equipment. A clean kitchen, bathroom, and dining room are all good signs. I can't wait to go back!

What a hidden gem! This spot is a bit out of the way from the main food spots in Malden but so glad I was recommended this spot. A friend and I shared a large bowl of their spicy fish soup (I forget the name but it's the most popular one). The bowl could easily feed 3-4 people all for $24. It was truly a home-y vibe with the generous portions of everything we got. The soup was flavorful and pretty spicy. I haven't had too many of this type of soup but I think this was tasty! We came here a bit late at night so it was just us in the restaurant but they seemed to get quite a few take out orders. I would consider this a great spot for a casual meal but be ready to sweat from the spice.

This place is such a hole in the wall spot in Malden! It may seem unassuming, but this spot offers delicious food. Mr. Fish offers many small fried plates, rice noodle soups, bubble teas, and of course, fish! I came here with four other friends and shared a comforting meal. We ordered a large Chinese sauerkraut fish, a large sliced fish with truffles, popcorn chicken, and chicken wings. Each large order also comes with two rice bowls. The bowls were filled with an aromatic and savory broth. I loved sipping spoonfuls of soup or eating it with a scoop of rice. The bowls offered plenty of smooth and tender fish pieces on top of cabbage, bean sprouts, and other vegetables. I left feeling satisfied and happy. I didn't leave feeling thirsty at all. Overall, the place is a casual spot. There are at least eight tables. We came on a Sunday night with no issues of getting seated. Street parking is around the corner.

A small noodle house in Malden - definitely a hidden gem! They don't have many tables. Their menu is mostly all soup and noodle dishes. You can also add on different toppings to your noodle. Service can get a little sparse since there is only one person. I got the fish fillet with spicy noodle soup and it was amazing! Good spice level, a lot of fresh fish and other veggies and assortments. The noodles add a good texture and really complement the soup. I also tried the sauerkraut fish noodle soup and it might have been the best one I've tried so far. Will definitely go back again! -8.2/10

This little Mom and Pop restaurant is surprisingly excellent. My daughter told me about this spot and I put it on my list to eventually check it out. Today I happen to drive by and I said hey I can't believe that's right here. I pulled over and went in. The young man in charge of the front of the restaurant who is also the waiter was very polite and informative. I asked his advice of what the best dishes that they serve and also with the best appetizer they serve. He responded with the sauerkraut fish which I chose as my entrée and the popcorn chicken for my appetizer. The popcorn chicken has a white powdery substance on the outside with a little bit of fresh garlic, pepper & onion. The chicken had a lightly fried exterior that had just the perfect amount of crunch. The flavor was amazing. The chicken was juicy on the inside matched with the crunchiness of the exterior. It just opened up wonderful flavoring in my mouth. Onto the main attraction, the sauerkraut fish. I asked the young man what type of fish it was and he showed me a picture. It's either flounder or something that resembles a flounder. But it is white, it's fluffy. It's firm and it tastes fabulous. The sauerkraut fish comes in a bowl with broth, beansprouts, and cabbage along with the fish and of course peppers. it's a bit on the spicy side so be careful if you're not use to that. I considered the broth a soup and enjoyed every spoonful. They give you an order of white rice with the sauerkraut fish. My suggestion is to get a little bit of rice in your spoon. Fill up the spoon with the sauerkraut fish broth. Amazing. Just delicious! As for the restaurant itself, it's basically minimalist style with some birch colored wood tables, a long bench and a welcome hosting counter. When you come to this restaurant request to use the restroom the way you get to the restroom is through the kitchen. I love walking through a restaurants kitchen. Multiple reasons behind this. You get to see the cleanliness of the restaurant. as I was walking through, there was a young man sweeping and cleaning the floor, which was very refreshing. You could see exactly how they were cooking your meal. This restaurant it looks as if they use authentic cookware. The food is definitely cooked fresh to water as I did not see anything being stored as I did my walk-through to the restroom. FYI, I walked very very slowly and took in the whole aspect of the kitchen. The bathroom it was older and I believe the reason you have to walk through the kitchen is because I believe this used to be an apartment that was already set up prior to opening a restaurant. I like the fact that they give you a large and elongated Asian spoon and a nice set of chopsticks. The restaurant has a few TVs to keep you entertained during your meal. The only downfall I can really see is it's really hard to find a parking spot as it's on Ferry Street which is a busy main street. While I was eating a couple of guys came in and ordered food next to me. Ironically, they ordered pretty much the same meal as I did, however, they replaced the fish with fatty beef, which I intend to try next time. It looked excellent. All in all great taste great service excellent meal‼

I stumbled upon this delightful restaurant a couple of months ago while searching for something closer to home, and it quickly became one of my favorites. Specializing in soup with various broths reminiscent of hot pot, everything is already precooked, making it a convenient option for a satisfying meal. One of my go-to orders is the lemon pepper wings--hands down some of the best wings I've had. They're light, airy, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. The soup bowls are generously portioned, perfect for sharing. My husband and I typically order the beef in chili oil, large size, and load it up with extras like fatty beef, enoki mushrooms, fish, fried eggs and tofu skin, served alongside white rice. One large bowl easily feeds both of us with leftovers! For drinks I always get their mango smoothie with sago, but to be honest I wish they make sure to use fresh sago and not the frozen ones. It's a shame because the smoothie is really good but the frozen sago ruined the drink. This has become our go-to spot whenever we crave something warm and comforting without the hassle of hot pot. It is very affordable, plus there's plenty of street parking available. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving them a try!

I personally love eating pickle fish since the sour flavor is really refreshing to me. The place has good seating. The large dish came with two bowls of rice, and the pricing was reasonable. The service was great, with the owner greeting and serving us

N4 Tomato noodle soup (LG compared to my fist)
    Marni M.

My friend recommended this place after having recently tried it themselves. All seats were available on a Monday afternoon. There were a handful of tables to pick from which wasn't a problem as they are also ideal for takeout. For appetizers we got their scallion pancakes and lemon pepper wings. Pancakes were chewy and only slightly oily. Their wings were crisp and moist, delicious! Soup wise we tried their N4 Tomato noodle soup (LG), N3 Chinese sauerkraut noodle soup, and hot & sour soup. In terms of my favorite flavors, I preferred souerkraut, then tomato beef, and lastly the hot & sour. All were tasty but I preferred the brininess of that broth better. The menu was rather confusing but we were quick to find out that the large premade bowl is in fact enough to easily feed 3 people with two portions of white rice on the side. If you want noodles they have to be added if it's one of the premade soups as opposed to the build your own ones. But both soup options come with lettuce and a few quail eggs. Spiciness varied considerably based on the side and batch that day as a warning. But I like spicy so I didn't mind. Server didn't seem to understand fully what we would ask at times, however he was quick to explain when he could. Would come again and recommend others to check them out!

Mr Fish & Noodle House replaces OnePot in Malden, MA. The restaurant specializes in fish soups and fish noodle soup. You have a variety of broth to try and of course, fish is not the only option for protein. My family came here for dinner. Street parking in the area is very limited as it is a mix of residential and businesses but more residential. The restaurant is very clean and brightly lit. I must say, the menu is very straight forward. Appetizers, either soup or noodle soup with add ons if you so chooses, and a short drink menu. Only one tricky part to the menu was item F5 which had no English translation. When I asked the waitress the difference between F1 and F5, I was told it was the vegetables used in the soup, I can't recall. For appetizers, we ordered the takoyaki, the popcorn chicken, and the fried buns. The takoyaki was deep fried, and then topped with bonito flakes, and drizzled with Japanese mayo and takoyaki sauce. It had a goey centered with bits of octopus inside each one. This item is always popular with my kids. Another favorite for my kids is the fried bun appetizer which came with condensed milk for dipping. This is a sweet appetizer. I like to save it for dessert but it can be eaten before hand. The popcorn chicken is coated with a salty curry spice batter. I enjoyed this appetizer the most and would order it again as the chicken meat was tender and juicy on the inside, while the outside was crispy. There is bits of salted fried basil leaves and green onions and chili peppers. I couldn't help pick but picked on these as I waited for the rest of the meal. I ordered the F1 Mao Xue Wang with extra grass carp fish fillets while my husband ordered the tomato noodle soup with added slice fish. Expect fish bones. I recommend asking for hot chili oil if you like your broth extra spicy. When asked, we were given peppercorn oil. In my opinion, it made my soup dish so much better in terms of both flavor and heat. My soup came with a bowl of rice. I couldn't finish the regular size by myself so I took it to go. The larger size is meant for sharing with maybe a group of four. As for my husband's tomato noodle soup, it would have been too plain if he didn't add a bit of chili oil to change the flavor profile as well. I will definitely be back to try the other flavors though my favorite tends to be the spicy chili ones. For drinks, we tried the taro and boba milk tea and the mango pomelo smoothie. If I had to pick between the two, I would say go for the mango pomelo smoothie. The taro and boba tea was good as well but the taro paste can make the drink dense and starchy as well. The restaurant was empty when we came. Service was overall very good. A larger party came in while we dined. I hope the restaurant does well but the location is very tough as it's not in the heart of Malden center but rather outskirts.

New restaurant is squeaky clean and bright, very different from previous establishment. Ordering is simple - you can scan menu on table or a staff would help you. Don't know which broth is good ? I would suggest ordering from the noodle section. You can choose a protein - fish, brisket, sausage, fatty beef, or pork. All noodle soup came with one quail egg, very generous portion of noodles, corns, dried/fried tofu, ham, veggies. The spicy fish noodle soup was so good! It reminded me of the mala fish dish from Dumpling House in Chinatown. The sauerkraut noodle soup was definitely the popular choice and recommended by the staff. No chili oil floating on top of the soup but beware, it was mildly spiced. Nothing special to the original noodle soup, just salty but my kid didn't mind. A reminder to specify the size of your beverage. Otherwise the staff will ring up the large cup (extra $1). Holy they have the mango grapefruit smoothie!! Nice balance of sweet and tartness. One minor complaint was i tasted part of the membrane of the fruit. They definitely fed us well. We were able to pack all to go. Roughly $25 per person with one noodle soup and drink. I would go back but this time I will know to order one large meal with noodle or rice as add ons. Cost will be cheaper this way now I know which broth I would re order. Parking is nearly impossible since all side streets are residential. Only a handful of spots near the restaurant. Didn't notice a restroom but probably need to go near the kitchen area?

This place is so good. I ordered the fish in a pickled canbage broth on a rainy day and it was warm and comforting--taste like what my parents made me growing up. My bf ordered the spicy beef broth and that was very flavorful. We would come here again.

It has bar seating area and table dining as well. The restaurant is one of the more modern decorated Vietnamese restaurants compared to traditional mom and pop's Vietnamese restaurants that I am used to. I appreciate the vietbamese street scene mural that they have going and I appreciate their effort and attention to detail. For appetizer, we ordered the Vietnamese fish sauce fried chicken wings. It was very good! This is a must! Sadly, they didn't have the betel leaves beef/pork skewer. I will have to come back another time. For entree, I ordered pho while my husband ordered the bun cha Ha Noi, and my kids shared the rice plate with pork chop and fried egg. My pho broth was very clear, and very light in flavor. It was very reminiscent of how my mother would make her pho, very subtle flavors and with wide pho rice noodles. Long's pho I would say is more akin to Northern Vietnamese pho so if you're looking for more salty and fragrant pho, this might not be for you. I love additional pickled vinegar garlic slices that are available at each table as well. I have never seen this at any Vietnamese restaurant in MA. The bun cha Ha Noi, the was good, but I would try something other next time. The rice plate we ordered had pork chops, fried eggs, and what was supposed to be pork skin, however, the pork skin was not up to standard so the owner replaced it with grilled chicken for us. Pork chops were a little over cooked. They are still very new. I think playing some music will help with the kitchen banter. Service was friendly and fast. Food came out at a very good pace. I feel like their drinks and appetizers menu might be the place to start if you're not adventurous. I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes. See my pictures!

We walked into a dining room that was on the smaller side, giving it a more intimate and casual atmosphere, the kind of place where the focus stays on the food rather than elaborate decor. The menu offered a mix of familiar Thai favorites alongside house specialties that were harder to find elsewhere, and the steady flow of customers reflected its reputation as a spot that puts most of its attention into the cooking. The dishes were the highlight of our visit. Everything tasted freshly prepared with well-balanced flavors, and the menu offered plenty of variety depending on whether we wanted noodles, curry, grilled meats, or appetizers to share. The curries were especially rich and flavorful, with a depth that came through clearly, while the noodle dishes had a good balance of seasoning without feeling overly heavy. There were also several house specialties that helped set the restaurant apart from a typical neighborhood Thai spot. We appreciated that the portions were generous for the price, making it easy to order a few dishes to share, and the variety made it worthwhile to try more than just one entrée. The Thai iced tea paired well with the meal and was a refreshing contrast to some of the spicier dishes. The service was friendly throughout our visit, and the food came out at a reasonable pace. Since the restaurant is fairly small, it could feel a little crowded during busy meal times, and there may be a wait depending on when you visit. It is worth planning around peak hours if you prefer a quieter dining experience. The staff handled the flow efficiently, and the pacing of the meal stayed comfortable even as the dining room filled up. Overall, Crying Thaiger Rustic Thai Kitchen is a great choice for flavorful Thai food with generous portions and a menu that offers more than the standard classics.
