Actually amazing. Authentic. I haven't had such good service in a while, it's honestly been one of the best experiences.

This place is fantastic. We are eagerly awaiting the opening of the new Burlington location and decided to take the drive to Winchester to try it out. We will probably go back to Winchester since we can't wait for Burlington to open! Firstly the dining room is cute with honeycomb booths up the side wall, small private booths and comfortable dining room tables and booths. The food is delicious and serving sizes are ample. I could barely finish my ramen-but had to so I could see if I won something. (And I did win a free lemonade or ice tea on next visit!). If you like added spice they offer three different toppings. Try all three, but I must warn that the sauerkraut pepper is very spicy! Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Parking is limited as this location is in downtown area. But there is free parking on Sunday near the train station-only a short walk away.

I was really excited to try Kyuramen's Winchester location and the food did not disappoint! The space is small with a fun multi level dining set up but has a great overall vibe. We ordered a few appetizers before our ramen and everything came out super quick. The gyoza and takoyaki were our table's favorites. I tried the vegetable miso ramen which was super filling and flavorful. I do wish they had a few more options for miso ramen to choose from. Although food comes out quickly, just be prepared for a long wait for a table of around 1-2 hrs especially on weekends after adding your name to the waitlist.

I don't know what happened with this place, hope it's an off night, but possibly a change in ownership or staff. Came here on a Wednesday night, and although it's filled, it's not crazy busy. It felt off the second we walked in. The hostess was on the phone and took people that were on the wait list after us to their table first. After we sat down and ordered, we waited 45 minutes for our ramen, and only an appetizer came in the meantime. We noticed that the other people that sat after us were already eating. We had also mentioned to the waitress we wanted the non spicy miso ramen 3 times when ordering (my husband has acid reflux) and it still came spicy. So they had to bring us another one which appeared 2 minutes later. So why did we wait 45 minutes for the first one? We had to wait longer for the extra noodles we ordered for the kids which they did not bring with the order. We also never got the other appetizer we ordered so had to ask for that, and when it came, the octopus was undercooked. The food also just didn't taste as good. The broth was not as tasty, warm (not hot), and the noodles were mushy. They were also very stingy with the toppings. We finished and sat and waited for our desserts that we had placed and this is already an hour and half later (45 minutes of waiting). We had somewhere to be and despite pressing the call button 2 times, no one came. It was starting to get frustrating after all this waiting (usually we are accommodating and understanding, but it just seemed no one knew what they were doing), so we had to get the waitress from the front and desserts to go, which we probably will not eat. I have learned not to order the combo anymore because we end up paying for it anyway. This was for our anniversary, so definitely left with a bad taste in our mouth. The waitress did mention she was a waitress in training and she did a good job with filling our waters a couple times. But either the kitchen or staff bringing out the food were not aligned with the waitresses or there was no good oversight.

We came on a weekend night, and luckily made a reservation a bit before we arrived because it was busy. We had a bit of a wait until we got into a semi-private booth. There are screens between the booths, not walls, so you can still hear and kinda see the other diners. Karaage and ramen were ok. We enjoyed the dessert though. I don't think I would come back here for ramen, but maybe to try something else. The honeycone booths are cool though.

Been here twice already and this is my new favorite ramen spot! I love this location because they have the cool honey comb seating. They are also decked out for halloween right now so it was really cool to dine in! Their server also dressed up and I thought it was really fun :) Their service is always top notch! The booths have buttons for you to call your server or to pay your bill so you can get in and out quickly. Their ramen is rich and their noodles are a lot better than other ramen places. Their noodles are taste more fresh and firm, I like the texture. However, we noticed that a lot of their appetizers were kind of oily. The spicy cucumber was really oily and their spicy dumplings were also drenched in the same spicy oily. Although it tasted good, the oil was kind of off putting.

Since seeing some social media videos, we've been wanting to stop for some time. We were doing something in the area so I checked the wait time on the website and it said it was about 60 minutes. When we were done with our activity, I checked again and the option to add ourselves to the waitlist was not available on the website. So I called the restaurant and they added me to the list. I received a text message telling me my place in line and approximate wait time. Our wait was actually ended up being shorter than expected so I'm glad that we went straight there. After walking-in, I realized that although it is a small place, that they have a smooth operation and plenty of attentive servers so you get your meal soon after ordering and your bill before you are done eating. I understand that they want to serve as many customers as possible and that is fine. We were in and out in less than an hour. We were seated at the bar and very close to the end where servers were coming in an out of the kitchen. That made for a lot of movement in close proximity to us. I would have preferred to seat at a table or a booth but the option was not presented and we had to take the next available space and that was it. We started with the takoyaki octopus ball that were steaming hot and delicious. One minute later our ramen bowls were placed in front of us. I went with the chicken ramen and found the broth to be flavorful and a good size portion. My partner got a lucky bowl that had free dessert written on the bottom. He was informed that it was good for his next visit within a month. We will not be going back that soon but it was a cute gesture. For dessert we tried the match tiramisu. It was tasty.

A great addition to downtown Winchester offering a large menu of non-sushi Japanese cuisine. They got omurice! I've always wanted to try it, I've never seen it in a menu in Boston. I got their ramen but next time I am ordering the omurice! I couldn't decide between the miso or tonkotsu but luckily they had the yingyang ramen bowl. They couldn't make the tonkotsu spicy, but that's ok because the miso was going to be spicy. Overall the bowl was good but I really enjoyed the tonkotsu and will order just that next time. I liked it so much there wasn't any broth left. There was a zucchini skewer which I thought was odd addition and got in my way as I dug in. The server was very polite and attentive. The decor is cool with a hexagon seating on the first and second story to help them maximize their space.

I had seen this place trending and couldn't find a way to make a reservation so we added our name to the wait list. Ended up waiting between 45-60 mins but worth the wait! Everything was so delicious and staff were super friendly. Interior is small but very unique design. Was expecting more vegetarian ramen options but regardless still good. Only downside is that you can't customize the fix-ins of each bowl (not a big deal though). Would highly recommend and will be returning!

KYURAMEN - 538 Main St, Winchester, MA 01890 Looking to get transported to Japan without hopping on a flight? KYURAMEN in Winchester is the place to be. My boyfriend and I had an amazing date night here, and we can't stop raving about it! We started with their Popcorn Chicken, which was perfectly crispy, seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper. Each bite was flavorful, juicy, and addicting--honestly one of the best popcorn chickens we've had. Next, we split the Yakitori Platter, which comes with five different skewers: chicken thigh with leek, beef skirt, pork belly, baby scallop, and zucchini. It's a great way to sample a variety of textures and flavors in one dish. The skewers were all tender, smoky, and grilled to perfection. For mains, we ordered the #9 Chicken Ramen--a rich chicken broth paired with grilled chicken, marinated egg, bamboo shoots, corn, wakame, scallion, and nori. The broth was comforting and clean, the grilled chicken had a nice char, and the marinated egg was soft and savory. It hit all the right notes. But the real showstopper? The Tonkatsu Omurice. It may sound simple--just eggs and rice--but don't be fooled. The fluffy omelet sits atop chicken fried rice, topped with a crispy pork tonkatsu and smothered in your choice of curry sauce or demi-glace. We went with the curry and it was incredible--rich, savory, and full of umami. Truly a 10/10. The ambiance here also deserves a shoutout. With its cozy, wooden booths and lantern-lit atmosphere, KYURAMEN makes you feel like you've stepped into a stylish ramen bar in Tokyo. It's intimate and warm, perfect for a chill dinner or cute date night. Highly recommend checking this place out--and if you do, let me know what you order! I'm already dreaming about our next visit. 10/10 food and ambiance. 7/10 affordability!

Busy place, always expect a wait because the food is AMAZING, and the interior honeycomb design seating is a sought-after vibe. Service is super fast and friendly. The ramen is the best I've had in Massachusetts in a loooooong time. SO so flavorful and spice options are wonderful. Pork melts in your mouth, and if I had one complaint it's only that one egg should be the bare minimum in a ramen bowl hahahaha giving half of one egg just doesn't suffice and they're too good! (Also paying an extra $2 for the other half of one egg is wild so I hope they change that) If you're sensitive to spice I'd recommend the non spicy options for broth because even the mild has a pretty big kick but I like mine that way! Matcha tiramisu is to dieeee for. Thai tea was delicious as well. New go-to ramen spot.

Matsuba Izakaya was just a 5 minute walk away from the hotel so we we braved the cold for some delicious food. When we arrived at the restaurant we were escorted toward the back of the restaurant which was very warm and inviting. I ordered the mini omakase for $55 and was super impressed with the presentation and variety of seafood. I was presented a box of 9 different seafood offerings: uni, toro, salmon belly, fish liver, raw shrimp & fried shrimp head tempura, scallops. yellowtail, and squid. The uni and toro were fantastic, and I enjoyed everything else except for the salmon belly. For some reason the salmon belly wasn't ultra creamy - maybe it wasn't thawed enough, which is a shame because I love salmon sashimi. Nevertheless, for the presentation and price I was really impressed with the variety. It also came with a miso soup which really warmed me up quickly.

I saw Gene's house noodle soup came with carrots and green beans and some other miscellaneous veggies along with the housemade broth, noodles and pork. Great. Placed an order for that along with a tea egg. The soup smelled incredible and came out piping hot--I absolutely hate it when my hot food comes out just warm so points for that. It had a tempting aroma of cumin, cinnamon, star anise and other spices I'm not sure I could identify. The pork was tender and abundant, and the half-spicy broth was enjoyable. But as I dug deeper, it started getting weirder. Under the meat and a scattering of cilantro I did find the hand-pulled noodles. And I also found vegetables: perfect cubes of carrot and potato, plus peas and green beans that looked like they'd started out either frozen or canned. The veggie medley was not bad, per se, but I did find it odd. More like what I'd put in a pot pie filling than a noodle soup. Meanwhile I wasn't expecting the smattering of cilantro, and there was no noticeable "egg skin" as described on the menu. The whole dish felt just kind of random, not intentional. It was enough to fill me, and the tea egg was fantastic, but I didn't feel like the soup held up to the rave reviews of other dishes or my expectations based on the menu description. Would I go back? Maybe but I'd order something different.
