MD Noodle House is acronym for Myung Dong Noodle House. Apology my review for restaurant in Flushing is for this restaurant in Little Neck. We ate here 2-times because a return trip was called for. Being Korean, we are snobby about Korean food, and this place check all our boxes. Spacious and comfy ambiance, helpful and attentive staff, food arrived very fast, fresh, high quality food seasoned right and very tasty! A definite recommendation! We will return also!

We ordered seafood tofu soup, beef tofu soup, bulgogi dolpan & md kalguksu. The beef from the tofu soup was very tough, I wished they used a different cut. The seafood tofu soup was ok, it came with a fair amount of seafood. All tofu soups came with a side of grilled pork. The MD Kalguksu had a clean but flavorful broth, the onions on it were good (but we wished it had a little bit of more meat). Service was great and the staff were attentive. They kept on coming with refills for the banchan, which were the regular kimchi and non-spicy kimchi. We would like to come back for their other dishes :)

MD Noodle House is the second location. The original located in Fort Lee, NJ so you know it's legit (Fort Lee is known to have some of the best Korean food)! I came after a weekend trip upstate and this really hit the spot for a comfort meal. Inside is spacious with a lot of tables so we were seated immediately and the food came out pretty quick too. The staff is friendly and they came over several times to refill our kimchi. Beware, the regular kimchi is spicyyyyyyy. I got the seafood pancake and the MD kalguksu but I honestly wanted to try everything (so you know I'll be back for sure). The noodles were in a hearty chicken soup that was light, yet meaty. It was topped with some dumplings (kind of small but I liked the filling) along with ground meat and onions that were torched which gave it a smokey flavor. I love a good seafood pancake and this one is pretty good! It wasn't too thick but it was very crispy and had a good amount of shrimp & squid. Glad that there's an authentic Korean restaurant in the area. Can't wait to come back and try more of their menu!

Stopped in for a quick by with the family. They seated us quickly on a Monday afternoon tucked away in the front. Nice service, albeit a small language barrier. We ordered a bunch of dishes - Mandu, seafood pancake, several noodle dishes. Everything came out hot and not too spicy. Noodles were very tasty and perfect. Love how their noodles are homemade. Hard to come by homey Korean food! Prices were on the higher side but the service and quality of food made up for it.

We drive past this place all the time and finally decided to stop by for a quick lunch last week. What an amazing gem of a place in Little Neck! We lucked out and came in right before the lunch crowd so we were seated immediately. There are large photos of the food displayed on both the tv screens and around the restaurant - so many options to choose from! This restaurant has some great lunch combinations that give you the chance to try out a few things on the menu even as a small party of two! Yes, there was plenty of food for the both of us, but we were glad to have gotten to try several things from the menu without ordering the full size (though I feel like the pancake was definitely a generous portion). My husband opted for the kalguksu with the seafood pancake while I got the oyster and seaweed soondubu with a side of cooked pork. The seafood pancake was definitely my favorite - it was light, super crunchy and chock full of shrimp, scallion and squid. The tofu soup was the right level of spicy and the accompanying banchan (pickled cabbage and kimchi) were perfect too. Honestly the side of pork was just okay and nothing special. The kalguksu was good - the noodles were thin but had a great bounce and the broth was beefy and thick. I probably could have skipped the mandoo in the soup though. There are a lot of other great options including different types of fish, beef bone soup and more! Just writing this review is making me hungry again and I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

Honestly, not bad and if your in the area and want some tasty noodles. The noodles themselves were tasty and mine tasted as expected from Yookgaejang. I was curious about their MD noodles they're known for, but noted that it came with pork, which I'm not a fan of. Kalbi Jjim wasn't too shabby either.

Stopped by for dinner on a rainy day and the meal was so satisfying and comforting. The restaurant is spacious and clean. They share the parking lot with the supermarket and other businesses, but they have dedicated parking spaces right in front of their building. We didn't have to wait long for the food, which is great. I got the seafood pancake and MD Kalguksu combo and I think it was worth it. The seafood pancake was crispy and filled with a lot of seafood. The kalguksu was warm and hearty and the noodles were the perfect texture. All of their soondubu dishes come with a side of grilled marinated pork. The soondubu is a classic and I actually liked the pork more than I expected. It was crispy and flavorful. For the sides, they give both regular kimchi and white kimchi. Their kimchi is actually spicy unlike some spots, but it was so good. Such a great gem in Little Neck!

For those who are wondering: No, this is not an extension of Myeongdong Gyoza, from Myeongdong, Korea. And yes, this also means that Myeongdong's unlimited noodle service does not apply here at this location... However! The Myungdong Noodle House answered the K-Town's need for the famous kalguksoo from Myeongdong, and I gotta say, it was a pleasant surprise. The original kalguksoo has its own distinct flavor, a little less greasy than what you may have tasted in Korea. I immediately knew I'd have a craving for this here, in NYC. The steamed mandoo too, had me reminiscing about the time in Korea. It was replicated delightfully. I enjoyed them just as much. about After trying all of our dishes, we knew that what Myungdong Noodle House had was their own thing. They may have caught my attention with another's gimmick, but it was their flavor that got me curious to try different items on their menu. You know? You try one thing and it becomes obvious to you that the rest of the menu is going to be the same top-tier flavors. And boy were we glad that we didn't need to wait 45 minutes to sit down as we did in Korea. This place is pretty big! The staff is friendly and the table service is conveniently equipped with calling bells. If you are not about to drop in Myeongdong Korea any time soon, I'd recommend that you try.

One of favorite comfort food places whenever I visit home. The staff are always super friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I have been here multiple times with my family, and we have all enjoyed their food and service. Their Spicy Naengmyun has nicely cooked chewy noodles, perfect for a summer day. It also comes with Marinated Jeyuk (pork) on the side, but it was kinda cold and bit tough. It didn't seem freshly cooked for those reasons but still has good flavor. The Galbi Tang had a very warming and hearty broth with lots of tender beef. My parents both really loved this dish. But my favorite has to be their Spicy Galbi Jim! The meat was so flavorful and just falls off the bone. The sauce has seeped into the meat and pairs so nicely with rice as well, just a perfect meal. The portions for each dish are also huge, so it's great for family-style or takeaway. Overall, really good Korean food and highly recommend coming here! I'm looking forward to coming back and trying their other dishes too!

A great addition to little neck especially in this cold weather. We got 2 combos: 1) seafood pancake and MD kulguksu and 2) kimchi soondubo with a side of grilled marinated pork and slaw. We got started with some banchan of kimchi (spicy and non spicy version) and some hot tea. The seafood pancake was absolutely delicious and had a good amount of shrimps and octopus in it and it was lightly fried to perfection. The MD kulguksu is a chicken broth based noodle with dumplings and ground pork on top. It was surprisingly good for something so simple and the broth had great flavor and it tasted clean. Hubby ordered the kimchi soondubu mild but it was spicier than expected but not bad. The side grilled marinated pork was also great. The food tasted very home made and we will definitely visit again. They gave my kids children-friendly stainless steel bowls and utensils. Portions were huge and we had to take some food home with us and the service was top notched.

I was craving soondubu & konguksu. My friend told me about this place so I came with my family for late lunch. They have parking spots on the side. We ordered Hwe bbim bbim naengmyun, MD konguksu, and Haemul soondubu with bbq pork, salad and rice. They serve large portions so you get your money's worth. I would say it's not amazing, but good which is why I gave this restaurant 4 stars. They give you two types of kimchee as side dishes, which is why they have combination meals. No egg for your tofu stew. Service is great! They have a service bell on the table if you need the waiter. I will be back to try other dishes! Can't wait.

TLDR: Me likey. MD Noodle House is a classic from NJ. Get the mandoo, definitely the signature MD kalguksu and the bbq bulgogi. I loved MD Noodle House when I first tried it in Fort Lee. Since then, it's not quite the same but when I heard a new one opened in Queens - I had to check it out. I think the new location has the quality NJ did when they first opened. Everything tasted really flavorful and was very frush. I love their mandoo - it's got super thin wrappers and PACKED with filling. I'd recommend getting the set for your first time. The Signature MD Kalguksu is a rich chicken broth with lots of stir-fried onions, ground meat, more dumplings and silky chewy noodles. The BBQ Bulgogi is not like your standard bulgogi. The beef is pounded out very thin and grilled like a flat burger. It's thin, has lots of flavors and comes with a nice cabbage salad too. I've been back several times and if you like clams, the one with the seaweed is good too. I am planning to revisit and try the tempura though - it looked very good last time.

*ppffffffffffft pffffffffft* (well, that was a bit more flatulent than usual)…read more"Very good, now can you blow a B flat?" So this is it, I am now the 3rd trombone in the stage band. Repressed memories bite in weird ways as I thought back at my high school days while munching on cold fermented veggies - back in the heady days of the early 90s when cellphones were analog bricks and a PC was a beige tower with an IBM logo embossed upon it, I was once a shot nosed, pudgey asian kid. I thought a Trombone will help me talk to girls (go with a guitar or a ukelele instead), and since I wasn't selected for the computer club, I ended up at stage band class at my NYC specialized high school. When you don't really care enough about playing to be good at it, you are going to sound mediocre, and when half the room is also winging it, the results were merely tolerable. After the band performance at an assembly there's a potluck, and they are ready-made, heat-and-eat affairs with items from CostCo or Boston market. It's a checkmark on someone's calendar, an obligation to be fulfilled without much passion or excitement. Just like the students' dispassionate stage band attendance, their boughie parents are feeding the class with an easy "out" - when I grew up in Corona the poorer kids and their parents did their own cooking, and I had some really spectacular food during the school potluck days. In the presence of affluence you trade quality for convenience and lost a sense of thoughtfulness... All of that rushed back into my head when me and the missus ended up in front of a fancy-ish storefront in Suburban Douglaston at what was formerly an Italian sunday gravy joint (Giadinero?) but now as a Korean eatery. Something seems off though...It's 1p Sunday - where's the customers, and why is it so devoid of the aroma of food? Kimchi is essentially the resurrected Kumgangsan, a former restaurant chain with locations at midtown K-town and downtown Flushing. They had a banchan store called Jangchi Jangchi but they went away during the 2020 pandemic. They promised a 10 dollar Kimchi sampling menu with rice, soup and noodles - this sounds great in early 2025...but is it worth it? Taken from a perspective of a community service joint, yeah, you won't leave hungry as it's all-you-can-eat. But if it's intricacies of Korean cuisine that you desire? Not so much. It's not that the cooking is bad, it's unexciting - for a tasting menu where you hope to taste the difference in kimchee varieties they are all about the same - fresh, cold, sour, but none particularly spicy, salty, funky or interesting. If your Korean auntie made something like this and she was told by her doctor to go easy on the salt or sugar for health reasons, you'll nod then gratefully enjoy. However, this is from an actual kimchi store and It's definitely very mild tasting. The same can be said about the shitake mushrooms and daikon banchan - the daikon is "soft enough for grandma" and both it and the mushrooms tasted like they fished it out of something else and marinated to recycle the ingredients. In addition to the 10 dollar kimchee tasting menu they also can serve you seollongantang, Galbi, bokkeum (squid) or the kalchi (grilled fish) at the typical price for a normal Korean sitdown with soju and a full menu, but they don't seem to have much turnover nor excitement. It felt like your Korean auntie's retiree cafeteria - to reinforce that assertion, when we ordered some steamed pork dumpling we got something that's a bit more bland and watery than expected, kinda like the challah and matzo ball soup at a diner frequented by retirees. We didn't go for their jarred kimchee afterwards as it was too plain for our likings. If we pass the area and want to get something cheap and filling, we might stop by...but with so many choices in the area it'll be tough to convince us to return soon...It was like sitting down in front of the band practice room with a trombone without much drive or excitement for it. Definitely an overly flatulent C minor...

***DELICIOUS KOREAN FAST FOOD*** ***FANTASTIC KIMBAP***…read more ITS ALMOST AN INSULT Mention fast food, and most individuals will think McDonald's. Burger King, Taco Bell, or some other similar crapola. So in my way of thinking, identifying Rolly Kimbap as a fast food restaurant is practically an insult, considering the quality of what's being served here. However, after placing an order you'll receive your food much quicker than a standard restaurant, so the fast food moniker is unavoidable. And this is true even more now, since all the dine-in tables were removed when Covid hit, making Rolly's a take-out only establishment. IT'S NOT SUSHI ! If someone whose never experienced Kimbap inquires, I'll explain that it's kinda like a Korean style sushi roll. But don't let others hear you say this, because you'l almost always get scolded by some fusspot, insisting that "It's not sushi!" So regardless of whatever you may think it is, I can assure you that the Kimbap at Rolly is one of my all time favorites, and made-to-order with supremely fresh and tasty ingredients. Even more, you can choose from about fourty different varieties, with the Avacado, Crab Salad, Spicy Chicken or Squid, Bulgogi, and Rolled Omelette being my top choices. And don't worry if you're really hungry, as each order of Kimbap here is substantial, and loaded with tasty ingredients. I mean, if you compare one piece of Kimbap at Rolly to a slice of a Japanese sushi roll, the difference in size is laughable. SO MANY OPTIONS Whenever I visit, just ordering Kimbap is impossible for me, as the menu is loaded with small eats, such as the Rice Balls, which are about the size of a medium orange, and are available with about twenty different fillings. Then there's the Crispy Chicken, which has a crunchy coating that seems to have rice crispies mixed in. The Tteok-bokki rice cakes are really delicious here, and can be ordered either spicy, fried, sweet & sour, or with seafood mixed in. And there's other sides like dumplings, corn dogs, and fries. NOODLES TOO Rolly's Spicy Ramen is a must-try item, that is served with a bold-red Gochujiang based broth similar in flavor to their Spicy Tteok-bokki sauce. And whenever I order this, it is so good, that I find it impossible to wait until I arrive home. So I'll always pop it open, and start eating while I'm driving, making a fantastic mess with the red broth all over my face, hands, and steering wheel. What a jackass I am sometimes! In addition, there's also a non-spicy Ramen Soup that can be ordered with different ingredients mixed in, Udon Noodle Soup, and last but not least, Korean Buckwheat Cold Noodles that are really tasty. KING OF BENTO If your hungry for a full pre-made meal, Rolly Kimbap's Bento Boxes - listed as meals on the menu - are fantastic. Order one, and you will be presented with something that is beautiful to look at, really delicious, and very filling. For example, a Fried Rice Meal includes a nice sized portion of fried rice, topped with a fried egg, along with sides such as salad, vegetables, macaroni salad and pickled daikon, to name a few. Another example is the Spicy Pork, Squid, And Bulgogi Meal, that comes with white rice, salad, broccoli, fish cakes, Korean sausage, a vegetable pancake, and seasoned bean sprouts as side dishes. Even more, if you're feeding two people, Rolly offers different Couples Sets, such as the #144 which includes a Bento box with kimbap, fried pork cutlet & sides, along with a large order of Spicy Tteok-bokki. LOVE THIS PLACE I only award a four star rating to Rolly Kimbap, because you can definitely find better versions of their hot dishes, such as Jeyuk bokkeum spicy pork or Soondubu spicy tofu stew at top Korean restaurants. But at the same time, it's really surprising how fantastic the food is at this small takeout spot. And on top of everything else, there's a very large parking lot behind the store, so parking is always a breeze. And so, if I'm driving on the LIE near exit 29, and it's time for lunch or dinner, there's a really good chance that I will stop here, because I really love this place. And at the same time, if you have a chance, give Rolly Kimbap a try, and you may fall in love with their Korean specialties too.
