Finally made it to Mr. Kimchi and now I get the hype!! It was insanely busy when we went and we waited about 45 minutes for a table of three on a weekend night, but it was worth it. We ordered a ton of different meats and everything came out quickly. The pork belly was really good, and the pork steak was also super tasty. The spicy chicken had lots of flavor, and the bulgogi was our favorite. I also like the steamed egg and all the side dishes that come with the meal. Even though the place was packed, the workers were so efficient and constantly checked in on us. The smoke sucker is right above the pan to help with the smoke going in your face. Overall, great food, great service, and I would definitely come back.

I just went to Mr.Kimchi for the second time with the family! Our waiter Tod was efficient and got us everything on time. The food was really tasty. The #1-3 are really good. The server was really nice and gave us multiple Mother's Day gifts. The ambiance was awesome and I liked the music. Overall, I would highly recommend Mr.Kimchi - Randhurst!

So many upgrades since we were here last time. We have been here many times (a big special occasion place for my family), and it never disappoints. Today, we decided to go for the premium ayce which includes LA Galbi. To our surprise, they gave us bone-in galbi. We don't get the premium meal often, but I remembered it used to be boneless galbi, which is good, but could be better. The waiter mentioned they just changed it to bone-in galbi a few weeks ago! Huge additional plus. Then towards the end of the meal, he mentioned how they also have a ramen bar that's part of the ayce too. This was pretty exciting so we also got a bowl of ramen which the kids enjoyed watching. The waiter recommended one called sesame, which included an egg block inside it, which was interesting. We will definitely be back and are excited for the new additions here! (Unfortunately we were too eager to eat the bone-in galbi, so didn't get any photos of that, but took some photos of the new ramen bar)

We regularly frequent Mr Kimchi. Tonight was a little different than the other visits. The dipping sauces were different from the usual sesame oil, ssamjang, doenjang sauces-- it tasted like a ponzu sauce and chikFilA-esque mayonnaise type sauce. We ordered the usual favorites: Kalbi, Beef brisket, Garlic Pork Belly, Bulgogi, KFC, steamed egg, fried dumplings, squid. They changed their policy to choosing/ordering 5 items from the Premium Menu at a time. I enjoyed the selection of meats available. The only thing I didn't enjoy was that the shrimp wasn't deveined. I like that it felt well ventilated. Each eating booth was clean with long benches. The grilling plate was a large 12.5" plate. I liked that there was plenty of surface area to grill. It is nice to know there is a few possibilities of accommodating large groups. Service is usually hit or miss. Some times staff is very friendly and accommodating, other times, like tonight, the server did not say a word. I asked for lettuce, but they would forget and I had to ask multiple times. But other than that, our server was good about changing our grilling plate multiple times, refilling the water pitcher, taking additional orders of meat, etc.

So I like KBBQs but I'm defo aging out of the "I wanna hit hot trendy spots and dress like a slob to go emulate Gen Z"... okay maybe I am still about the comfort over cute... hashtag fleecy Joggers4Lyfe y'all... Anywhoo this was a dinner my rents were comping for once. Whoo. So me and my stretchy pants scuttled over to JAWS a parking spot from a baby carriage loading couple leaving last min... just across the doors of MK on this Saturday night. Scored this last minute at about 6:30pm BUT they had a waiting of 45min. Ugh wtaf... so off to Homegoods around the corner to chill ... after stopping by to check in. Yeah my 'rents sat there but I could not deal with the milling cattle corral of mall carnivores... geez. Never hit a mall area on a Sat night. =/ AMBIANCE The Randhurst location is their second, and so freaking busy. There seems to be a waiting list that may be accessible thru Yelp that was at the front desk on a tablet. Use it of it exists, they only take rezos for parties of 10+... tbh if I had known about the wait I prolly would have went to the Mt Prospect location. Interior is okay but the loop design floorplan is stupid, you have to circle one side of the entire restaurant to get to the restroom and dodge bus and food drop carts like it's a game of Frogger. You can't have a center aisle? Or a shortcut on each side? This is a fire hazard. In a panic exit situation this will cause a trample. Also not a fan of being looked at by these waiting people in your booth by the entry doors. Who designed this place?! Dennys or IHOP is setup better FOOD Its Korean food, that you cook yourselves at about $43 pp (basic meat selection menu level) after the mandatory $18% tip and taxes are factored in... and only breaking even if you eat 2 servings of meat and hopefully enough sides and appetizers in the alloted 2 hours to justify that tab... annoying that samm (lettuce wrap) are $3.50 per bowl, and they forget to bring a dollop of the gochujang (red pepper paste) or daejang (bean paste) with it ... unless you ask for it specifically. Service was decent but nothing amazing considering you're on a timer to get items. The cleanup could be better as well, we piled up dirty dishes to be taken to make room as a hint ... and that happened about 5x. I think I like the original spot better, and haven't tried the 3rd one but Im guessing its more of this vibe...

A great AYCE Korean bbq restaurant! This might be my new favorite AYCE BBQ. We used to go to the original location all the time. This new location is an upgrade. They've added the same sides as Iron Age. Salad is different, but still tastes good. I like Mr Kimchi the best because they have all the sides the Iron Age has, but they also have corn cheese and soup! Service is great. It was quick. We came in on a Saturday night so we had to wait about 30-45 minutes for our table for 2. That was fine with us. We went to homegoods right around the corner!

Met up with the Sales Team for an impromptu lunch meeting. The restaurant had a modern euro industrial vibe. Staff greeted us with upbeat energy. The options for this Korean BBQ was a plenty. Since this was a business meeting, we passed on the harder libations. We proceeded to order the various meats: Brisket, NY Steak, Bulgogi, Gabi, Korean BBQ Chicken, of course we had Kimchi! Love Mr KimChi I'd have to remark that the seating is a bit wonky. If you have a large group you may have to be split up to different the tables due to the gas line connections. We managed to fit 8 (some kids) into a longer booth. Since otherwise it seemed silly seating only 4 per massive booths. They offer some really nice meat choices. I particularly liked the baby squid, it was fun to see curl up with heat applied to it. The steak is so tender and definitely worth the upgrade to the premium. The service was good, got our food relatively quickly, except they left out a few things (didn't write it down). I think we were able to pound down a lotore.mests than I originally thought. Love the location. Plenty of parking and it's just a good fun experience.

Today we went with my don and his buddies who just graduated boot camp for their 1st real meal after eating crappy meals at the camp. The bbq is All-you-can-eat, we didn't ask if there's ala carte option, but they have good selection of korean alcohols and japanese beers. There's not much non alcohol selection except smoothies, pepsi products, and desserts including popsicles. All the staff are great, very diligent to change the grill pan immediately after the plate charred, always comes over to check if we need anything else, or need to add more meat orders. We can only order 3 meat plates at a time, then re-ordered the next round if needed. I feel it's pricey- regular $29.95, and premium $34.95, but kids price is interesting (add $2.50 each age between ages 3-10). Our kids ages 4 and 10, so we paid $5.00 and $20.00. Meat portions are decent and appetizers may be reordered as much as you want. Overall, not bad for a Korean BbQ in Chicago area. P.S. if you make a reservation, they will seat you once you party is present.

We had great experience at the other location during the pandemic...was very looking forward to the opening of this location. Diff vibe and decor than the other location. I don't have preference one way or the other, tho I prefer the grill used at the original location. If you like pork, this is pretty decent place. At par with non-AYCE places..But for the beef, def not worth the upgrade to the premium to get the galbi, coz it's not that good! The beef brisket is at par with other non-ayce joint. But galbi quality is just not there. For similar total cost and quantity of meat (didn't want to order more than what we can possibly eat), I prefer my regular go-to for galbi Service...it depends on who you get... read more

I took my family here for a birthday celebration cause I had an amazing experience at the Mr. Kimchi that opened up at Niles and a friend told me the OG Randhurst is way better. I have to say I had a better experience at Niles than this location. I thought the meat quality didn't hit the spot here and there was a limit of 1 steamed egg per table due to increase in egg prices even though its an AYCE kbbq. We had 5 people sharing 1 order of egg which is insane even though egg prices are high. The service at Randhurst was top-notch insanely good, so I'll give it to this location for service compared to Niles. If I were to return, I'll probably go over to Niles location since I had a good experience there. This location is pretty big, but I think the other location might be slightly bigger. Overall, you get what what you pay for at an AYCE KBBQ. This place is still the most legit/best KBBQ in the Chicago land area. You can't really beat the price anywhere else besides Iron Age. read more

Great ambience and decor! Modern and clean looking restaurant. Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed Mr. Kimchi. I rarely go to buffets anymore, and this is a good one. Here's what we ordered. I liked this branch of Mr. Kimchi better than the orginal. A group of friends went out and we were able to get a table for 8 luckily on a busy night. I like the modern vibes in the restaurant. Everything is nicely cleaned and new. We chose the premium and you can get up to 3 meats each round. Make sure you don't waste the meat they could charge $10 per person if you do. We had no food to waste everything I had was pretty tasty. I liked the bulgogi best. It is on the sweeter side. We also enjoyed sides such as the fried chicken that is perfectly fried every time. They do not miss. The corn cheese is a must have too. They have two soups you can get. The spicy tofu is tasty. Our server changer our grill out multiple times. This is the best chain ayce korean bbq place in chicagoland. I like the variety and the flavors are good. 30 for regular and 35 for premium. Ez decision to do premium very time imo. They also have korean fried chicken which is quite good. Not as fancy as the places that serve a5 like Japanese BBQ but still rly good. read more

Having been here numerous times, the service is always friendly and they check on you frequently. The quality of the meats is not bad, but at times could be better. The prices are reasonable for all you can eat. Be aware the location is within a shopping plaza, and parking is always a hit or miss dependent on the time and day of the week. read more

I came here for the lunch special with 10 other people. They were able to get us in right away and the server was attentive the entire time. Food was delicious and a great bang for your buck. The only kbbq I've tried that has cheese corn!!! While we were walking out the owner gave us free popsicles and let our friend spin the prize wheel for her birthday. I want to share a story with YOU. I took some friends out to lunch and ended up at the Mr Kimchi-Randhurst. We enjoyed the food and my one friend said she will come back. She returned on January 4 at 1 pm. She brought her family. It was her birthday. They were seated in a booth close to the reception. She was excited to share this new dining experience with her sons and her husband. What happened after that is infuriating. The server they had (whose name she was not able to get) was inattentive, dismissive and rude. They were not offered forks ( she had to flag down a busboy for them). The service was slow. Their order arrived late. They were told they were only allowed a certain number of fried chicken (in an eat all you can restaurant?). She asked another member of staff for something because she could not find their server. The server appeared and said "are you looking for me?" She decided to cut the lunch short, paid up and left. My friend was very offended with the way they were treated, she felt belittled and discriminated against but she did not make a scene. I want to make a scene! I want to share this story with EVERYBODY! read more

This is definitely the best spot for Korean bbq!!! The ambience is great and we always come hungry and leave full. Price is great for all the food you can order. The staff is always so nice and helpful. Our favorite waiter is named Simon. We love you SIMON lol... This place is so good that my husband and I started coming weekly. I recommend ordering the spicy tofu soup. it's not that spicy but it pairs perfect when you add in some white rice, cooked brisket and some egg from the egg soufflé. I love their vegetable dumplings as well. Tried about everything and you cannot go wrong. Service is fast and friendly. Very clean and good quality of food. Will definitely be back. Digging the new location on the outskirts of Randhurst mall (village). Fun spot for a date or meeting friends. Ample parking and just a few feet away from the local AMC theater. (Too bad it's still a stiff, red seat theater tho =[ ) Kbbq menu options are simple. Regular or deluxe protein options (+$$). Not much to choose from w/ sides or appetizers, unlike their OG location. Though staff here says menu options have changed there too? Choose from marinated or unprepared, fresh meat options. Great for those on diets and wanting an experience with less additives & calories. If you enjoy cocktails, definitely try something. Many are craft and something different than the average. The BBQ grill setup is more user friendly than older Kbbq setups and gives employees an ease when needing to step in to assist. Even if you're a newbie to Kbbq, you'll leave feeling like a pro. I went to Mr. Kimchi based on a couple of friends' recommendations and they did not disappoint! We went during lunch on Monday and they had a $19.99 AYCE special. The restaurant had tons of free tables so we were seated immediately. The staff was friendly and quick the entire time. You are given a list of meats to order from as well as free sides and banchan. They give you a free bowl of rice, but any rice or lettuce is an extra charge. You are allowed to order 3 meats at a time, so we started with brisket, bulgogi, and soy pork ribs. The brisket is thinly shaved and fatty, a classic meat. We weren't fans of the bulgogi flavor but it's not too bad. The soy pork ribs had great flavor and fat ratio - this was delicious! We got more brisket and tried the garlic pork belly which ended up being my favorite. Great garlic flavor and was so good with the ssamjang. They had tons of free side dishes and we got the corn cheese, spicy tofu soup, fried dumplings, and egg souffle. My friends LOVED the corn cheese - it is cheesy and has a charred flavor. The spicy tofu soup had a great umami flavor and wasn't very spicy, but was so good. The fried dumplings were small and crispy and the egg souffle had a classic egg taste. I love that these are free and can be ordered an unlimited amount of time. We really LOVED the banchan given, especially the soy pickled onions and radish wraps. Our server was super attentive and gave us tons of refills whenever needed. The lunch deal is a GREAT value meal and tons of great food. I would love to come back and try the dinner menu again - the intestine looks delicious! read more

One of my few go to AYCE KBBQ spots. Love having the corn cheese as my side dish if I am not feeling like having too much rice. Kalbi is fantastic here, as well as the spicy pork/garlic pork belly. The brisket, which is my go-to order can be a hit or miss. Some days they're great cuts and cook perfectly tender and others, they end up super chewy. My most recent experience, it seemed like my server just didn't want to work. Was very aggressive with putting dishes down or changing our grill. Just overall wasn't pleasant. Seemed annoyed when we asked for water or sesame oil (which turned out not to be sesame oil, it tasted like kalbi sauce). I didn't try to correct it and just let it go. I will continue to go here when I rotate through my favorite KBBQ spots. Wishing for better consistency on the brisket though! read more

WOW!! the ambiance is gorgeous, the bathrooms are clean, and the quality of the meat is heckin' delicious. but my favorite part of today was our server Julie. Mr. Kimchi Korean BBQ was a fantastic dining experience. My husband and I treated our family while they were on vacation when we wanted to spend some time together. We went on a Sunday night and were led right to our table. The service was stellar. We were served quickly. We got our first plate of food to cook within five minutes of arriving. We ordered the all you can eat Korean BBQ meal. The meat was of a very high quality and we ate plenty. There were so many appetizers that we couldn't get through them all. My favorite was the bulgogi because the marinate was done perfectly. The experience was awesome, and I highly recommend Mr. Kimchi Korean BBQ. read more

Parking is plentiful, there are lots of fun picture taking opportunities, lighting is good, ventilation is plentiful, seating is comfortable, service is quick, the menu isn't too adventurous, prices are reasonable, the Kpop isn't too loud, and the restaurant has attractive decor and is clean. This wouldn't mean anything if the food wasn't just as good to match and Mr Kimchi delivers. While they aren't as flavorful as some of the other options I've had in the area, they overall have a good selection of quality meats that are quite flavorful and tender. If you are getting down to your last bits of stomach capacity, there's a few items I'd definitely recommend trying. The beef brisket is flavorful and tender and goes well with the sauce, the bulgogi beef is the reason why you're probably here in the first place with great flavor and tenderness, the soy marinade pork rib has the right mix of firmness and flavor especially if you sear the edges slightly, any of the pork belly portions are melt in your mouth delicious and I prefer them to the thin sliced version, the fried veggie dumplings have an addictive crisp to them, and the korean fried chicken here is perfectly marinated with an addictive crispy skin (debatably better than some dedicated KFC places, even without any sauce). Overall, Mr Kimchi provides an excellent choice to enjoy delicious Korean BBQ in a more upscale feeling setting and is the perfect place to take friends and family. read more

Fairly large restaurant and this is the newest location. Our server definitely changed the grill pretty often for us which is nice. We ordered of the regular menu but there's also a Premium menu which include some seafood options and NY steak. We got the brisket, bulgogi and the pork belly. The pork belly and brisket was my favorite item on the menu. The bulgogi was pretty good but the sauce was a little on the sweet side. Some of the side items we got included the KFC and the corn cheese and soup. Been here a couple times at the bar by myself and with a friend for ayce kbbq (bc min 2 ppl for ayce). Love coming to the bar and the bar menu is absolutely delicious and plentiful. Especially the bulgogi tacos (they were absolutely massive for two tacos). They tasted delicious. And the Mondivo red and white wines are actually well priced for a glass and pair pretty well with the food. For ayce, my friend I got the premium which is a little extra but we get galbi and Mr steak as well as seafood options which I love. Their side dishes are amazing bc they're so filling and healthy. You can ask for as many refills on them and for the food too. Plus they have great fans that go really close to the grill to take away most of the Korean bbq smell! I haven't tried the Korean candy cocktail yet but theyre just massive huge with a melona bar on top which I really wanna try. And this 2nd new location is killing it with the interior design. The sweet potatoes were pretty soggy by the time we enjoyed them, unfortunately. However, the mashed potatoes were crazy buttery which meant it was crazy good. I kept going back for seconds and thirds, eating to my heart's content. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of BBQ at Porky's. Some things were just alright, but I'd definitely recommend the smoked beef brisket and mashed potatoes.

And second, handling a busy situation in the store with grace and empathy.

The customer service was awful, and the lack of communication made the situation even more frustrating. Ordered a lemon sour and it was flat due to having flat soda water. They kindly replaced it with a slightly less flat soda water. Strong recommendation for the otoro and sashimi cuts. Maybe double check if yakitori is hot before ordering more.

finally tried mr kimchi ayce! i heard the golf road location is better so came here as opposed to…read morethe randhurst location. visited on a monday at 5pm (when they open for dinner) and we (party of 8) were the first ones there. there is an ipad to put your name down. upon being seated, i went straight to the ramen bar which is complimentary with all ayce purchases. i got the neoguri (a classic), but they have shin, jin spicy, buldak spicy, and a few others. everything was super convenient and straightforward to use. you dump the noodles and packets into the bowl and push the 3 button. then you wait about 4 minutes - we set a timer to come back after we sat down. the noodles were perfect. our table just ordered a lot of brisket and corn cheese. they have rice on the table - the first is included and then you can pay $2 for each additional bowl. if you want sesame oil to dip your meat - you have to ask for it. the meats were good - not as fatty as iron age glenview. the japchae, salad, and tteokbokki weren't as good as iron age though. the service was great too. no dessert included in the ayce but they do offer it. overall a good experience and i would go again! it ended up being 38.57 per person with tax/gratuity for the regular ayce.

I went out with some fellow foodies on a packed Saturday night and we were lucky enough to get seated without having to wait too long! The restaurant's got this cool modern vibe going on, and everything's spick and span and brand new. We went for the primo deal where you can grab up to three types of meat each round (Caution: they do charge you a $10 fee per person if you waste any meat) Luckily, we polished off everything because it was all pretty darn tasty. My personal favorite was the bulgogi--it's got this sweet thing going on. And don't even get me started on the sides! The fried chicken is always spot on, and you got to try the corn cheese--it's a game changer and blew my mind when a fellow foodie recommended it! Amazing food and service most of the time. We occasionally will have a bad waiter but the majority of them are quick and nice! They do however need to work on cleanliness in the facility. The bathrooms are always disgusting and smell bad and there is always food on the walls at the booths so its really gross.
