I want to share a story with YOU. I took some friends out to lunch and ended up at the Mr Kimchi-Randhurst. We enjoyed the food and my one friend said she will come back. She returned on January 4 at 1 pm. She brought her family. It was her birthday. They were seated in a booth close to the reception. She was excited to share this new dining experience with her sons and her husband. What happened after that is infuriating. The server they had (whose name she was not able to get) was inattentive, dismissive and rude. They were not offered forks ( she had to flag down a busboy for them). The service was slow. Their order arrived late. They were told they were only allowed a certain number of fried chicken (in an eat all you can restaurant?). She asked another member of staff for something because she could not find their server. The server appeared and said "are you looking for me?" She decided to cut the lunch short, paid up and left. My friend was very offended with the way they were treated, she felt belittled and discriminated against but she did not make a scene. I want to make a scene! Food tasted great and service was great! Love coming here! They swapped out boneless marinated ribs for LA marinated ribs.

Mr. Kimchi was alright but not worth the money in my opinion. The food was ok but they give you too much of one meat. I felt rushed while eating because the waitress kept asking what we wanted to order as it was our first time here. When our meats came out meat was just dumped onto the grill to start the cooking process. I don't know about you but I prefer to cook the meats at my own pace. When it's all cooked and we start eating, the meat gets cold after a while since all the meat is cooked. Would have rather had a process of cooking the meat to make sure everything was hot when we eat it. I would suggest giving more sauce to start or at least having sauce on the table because what we had to start was simply not enough sauce for the meats for me. Restaurant is nice looking inside but would skip this restaurant and go someplace else for more affordability and get more variety. read more

Our favorite AYCE Korean BBQ joint, especially when it comes to value. We'll admit for KBBQ, we keep in our lanes of brisket, pork belly, thin pork belly, and occasional pork shoulder. So we rarely venture into the premium options. Coupled with the weekday lunch special price, it's hard to find any better. The side dishes and hot sides are always a hit from the soups to the salad and corn cheese. The meat is always consistent and the waiters make sure we're always queued up for the next round. The interior is a little more "modern" than the other Mr Kimchi in Mount Prospect but the food is consistent between the two. read more

Just went to this new location for Mother's Day. We had 8 people and they were able to seat us right away. We did have to ask for a table instead of a booth cuz we had a wheelchair with us. The service was nice and the place was super clean. The fried chicken was unbelievably delicious and the beef and pork was yummy too. I'm not much about the sides, but I always order a bowl of rice. Unlike the other location, they have wine and some liquor. We enjoyed them. I will be taking my husband here on a date night soon. read more

They serve the banchan right away, take your order without any issues and are very patient especially with big groups. Compared to other kbbq places, they do have the best services. It's a new building and they keep it clean. They play kpop music, can be quite loud but it's definitely a vibe. I think I am being very generous on giving this place an 1-star. Now let me explain. First of all, the short haired Korean lady in the RUDE, very RUDE to Asians (all smile to White folks), very confrontational towards customers (we left our number on the check in, never got a text or call at all, when we asked why 2 group of people got in before us, she looked at us like it was all our fault; after seated us, we were talking while she was walking away, she came back to us and kept on arguing with us, thought she was about to fight us). I was told she's the manager under the big boss, she out of all people should understand good customer service. I feel bad for people who actually work under her. Now about the food, noting special, the best dishes they got are side dishes, kimchi, and tofu soup. The meat selection is mediocre at its best; the marinade is very bland on most of the cuts, galbi was ok, quality of the meat is decent; taste department definitely needs a lot help. The wait staff was ok, decently attentive. The restaurant set up seems to be nice n clean. And the restaurant is really asking customers to leave 5-star reviews to get a free popsicle?!?!?! This place is awesome! Even our 4 year old asks to come here at least once a week. Staff is so friendly and food comes out rather quickly. The meat selection is good and friendly to those who don't eat red meat or pork. The little sides like tofu, soup, corn, or even the cold noodle are wonderful additions. I tried Mr. Kimchi for the first time. I'm not a Korean BBQ connoisseur but I wish they had more vegetables and banchan options to go with the meat. They serve you with a bowl of salad and banchans. No mushrooms or zucchini at least for the price, it's pricey, considering we went for lunch and we're charged premium because we ordered seafood. Lettuce is extra charge, as well, as extra rice Ambiance is nice. Lunch special is $19.99. I guess if you stick with the $19.99 AYCE would be worth it. Amazing Korean BBQ place! Very spacious and very friendly staff! We came here for a celebration of my nephew after graduating from Navy boot camp. There were 12 in my party and we were not cramped. Quality of food is good. I wished the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) were boneless but besides that everything is good! Our server Robert was very attentive and helpful. Came in for dinner on a weekend at around 4:30pm, beating the rush, though not overly busy by the time we left. The service was good, very attentive. We got the Regular Menu for kbbq ($29.95, kids 3-10yr $2.50/yr). We ordered a variety of the meats for grilling: the beef brisket, bulgogi, thin sliced pork belly, pork belly. And then a handful of items as sides: KFC chicken, corn cheese, egg casserole, fried dumpling, spicy tofu soup, soy bean soup. The KFC chicken was super crispy and still juicy and tender, the fried dumplings was a hit at our table and the corn cheese was good too. Of the meats the beef brisket was a favorite, nice and thin and easy to eat. The side dishes were plentiful too and they also have the pickled purple radish here which was a favorite. The fish cakes looked spicy but were not at all. Overall a great experience at Mr. Kimchi, will definitely be back to this one! read more
