My tenant moved out and the place was beyond dirty. There were stains and dirt and all the appliances were beyond filthy- even the cabinets were a mess. My private terrace was covered with soil and mulch left by all the plants they had- it was so bad it created flooding when it rained. These guys swooped in and spent more than average time to make it shine from top to bottom. The owner even came by to check the job they did and went through everything with a fine tooth comb. I was on the other side of the country when they did all this and he kept me informed with texts and pictures. My fears were completely unfounded: Norma did an OUTSTANDING job cleaning the apartment by herself and completed a deep clean much earlier than I anticipated. I moved and needed a cleaning company to help clean before moving in. The apt was clean and wanted someone to do a complete overhaul. Stephen the owner told me he would bring all the supplies and additional person to do 3 floors. Stephen basically took my $$$ and did nothing. DON'T USE USE HIM. He basically brought a bucket and windex bottle and some wipes to do 3 floors. HE didn't even use water to clean the floors. He did nothing but throw half used wipes on the floor. I left him there for 4 hours and told an additional cleaner was coming. Who knows if he showed up at the end. The only thing that was cleaned was the frig. I called him and he said he would come back to re clean the apt but of course he never did. My first time using YELP for a service and will never trust again. I wanted to give a mom& pop company the chance and I was truly disappointed. read more

Today was the first time I used Mr. Maid. The cleaning service I had used in the past is expanding and wasn't available for the time period I requested. I was a bit reluctant after reading a couple of bad reviews about no one showing up and not doing a good job, but decided to focus on the many positive reviews. I must say that I'm astounded there are any bad reviews at all! Steven (owner) was most responsive when I called. I told him I wanted a deep clean, with focus on the floors. After our initial call, we communicated via text. He was able to quickly accommodate me on a day and time convenient to me. This was confirmed via text. He asked for specific address and apartment number (I notice there's one review where there was an issue because an apt. number wasn't noted). Today The cleaner and the man who brought her here (didn't get his name), arrived a half hour early. All I can say is that I'm totally amazed! My place was a wreck, my back having been out for a long time. Btw, I have a mid-sized one b/r apt. Norma cleaned tirelessly for 3-1/2 hours and was pleasant as well as efficient. The floors and baseboards were thoroughly vacuumed then steam cleaned. Windowsills washed. My desk and computer were a mess. She scrubbed everything in the bathroom, making all look new. My "kitchen" is about 3' x 3' (seriously), but she managed to scrub that too. She asked if I wanted my windows cleaned. Asked about the bed, but I said it was fine as I have to do laundry and change sheets. She asked about EVERYTHING. When she was finished, she made sure I checked it all. I have many years of clutter and don't own a vacuum. I need to make room for one, if my back will allow. Given that, I was thrilled that Mr. Maid provides their own equipment and cleansers. Norma arrived with vacuum, steam cleaner and all supplies. I think the price for the service rendered is very reasonable, especially for Manhattan. Stephen was super friendly and personable, and made things extremely easy. Anna was very respectful of me while I was working in the apartment during the cleaning. Overall, I was really happy with the service. I think a few spots were missed that I normally miss myself when I'm cleaning - like dust on some shelves and the walls in the bathroom. He's an absolute gem. Not only does he manage to get my Williamsburg apartment (which isn't new by any means) completely sparkling, he is also super fantastic to deal with. He's very easy going, courteous and so so helpful. What a lovely human being. I don't even know how he does it, but he leaves the place smelling so fresh. I'm a girl with long hair and he even manages to rid my apartment of this! I honestly can't speak highly enough.
