I've been here twice, first to inquire about a part that fell off the bottom of the car and second when my tire exploded on the hwy omw to work before they opened. Both times, Maz was responsive immediately and v accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable. I felt safe knowing my car was in his hands and knew it would be taken care of each time. As a woman, you face so many narcissistic cocky men in the auto world and we don't always know all the details about our cars so it can be frustrating. Have to be honest, I didn't even get any work done here I came to inquire about the quality of my brakes and if they thought I needed new ones. First of all I showed up without any appointment or heads up notice and I walked right into the office. Maz (I believe the manager) was open and nice and immediately greeted me and took my question without making me even wait a second even though there was someone else there being helped. I went to the restroom and by the time I was out he was already outside ready to look at my brakes. He was very kind and helpful took a look at all four of them let me know that I still had life on all of them. He gave me extra information that made this experience so beneficial and he seemed very knowledgeable and honest, not at all trying to force a customer out of me. He referred me to body work shops too for other repairs as they don't do body work. My wife had been taking her mercedes sl500 amg to Vik for several years. She had an issue with some of her electronics, that seemed to not work, and she loves her sear warmers so we took the car in. On the way, she couldn't say enough good things about him. Which in my experience there are some good mechanics but more bad mechanics so I was happy to hear this and meet him. I don't enjoy writing this at all, but I can tell you with confidence that my opinion is Vik is not as honest as he appears to be. He does and will definitely make you feel that you are in safe hands when you walk in but that again, just my opinion, is smoke and mirrors at its finest. A bit of explanation and as to my knowledge and recollection how things went south with our relationship with MR MB MOTORS. Although, I am not a mechanic, I do have knowledge over the years with her car, and I am familiar with basics. I also took the time to learn the about her car by simply reading the car manual since I was genuinely interested in learning about. I will admit the car is very advanced and does require a professional that has the knowledge specifically pertaining to a mercedes, hence the reason we went to Vik. A few days later Vik called, said the car was ready and the bills was over $1000, which we gladly paid so things were fixed. The receipt with the description clearly states that the following work was done to fix the issues she had been having. All of which were due to the main electrical components such as seat warmers, power windows, power to charge her phone etc. Vik walked us through the work that had been done and explained that there was a wire issue with the seat warmers and that she could no longer use it or it would be very expensive to replace. What he did to my understanding was disable "cut the cord" for lack of a better word. I could be wrong though and I'm not a mechanic like I said. So Maybe I didn't understand him clearly. Also, A bit about the car before I go into further detail first, is that unlike other cars, there are two batteries on the car, which is not hard to understand for the avg. person that doesn't have any knowledge regarding cars by simply showing someone explaining which one does what. One is to operate all of the consumer electronics and is located in the trunk, and one is to mainly start the car like a normal car battery. Moving on, my wife and I were driving the car, and the light came on again , the dash notified us that the cars electronics were malfunctioning. I called Vik to inform him of this as soon as it happened and he said before I even had the chance to say anything, that the problem was not because of his work. Seemed fishy to me. Unfortunately, when I looked back at my wife's old receipts I found many things replaced that seemed unusual, like a battery that was only a year old or less for example. As I mentioned before, the consumer battery is what gives the electricity to the power windows etc. After several battery changes now, and looking back at my wife's receipts, why were the electrical issues not solved? His explanation on the phone was that the problem was because of the alternator which he claimed was not installed properly by a previous mechanic (the reason for this was because this is a pretty simple job that was done while replacing her tires). While I was aware that my wife had a new alternator installed by another mechanic prior to us bringing our car in to Vik, even if that were the case what he stated was faulty before his work, why did he not check and/or fix that issue? If he was aware of this, which is a basic issue that a lot of cars have, why was he blaming another mechanics work that was previously done for the issue? After he had charged my wife a significant amount of money to replace a battery, cut a cord, and "fix the issue" does this not sound fishy? Do you think he was defending himself and why was he defensive if he did nothing wrong, except for fix the issue? I then asked if I could bring the car in and we could perhaps walk through it together. He simply said that he was too busy, and to take it to pep boys to test the alternator which they do for free? My other option was to make an appointment with him a week later. So I should just test the alternator which was installed improperly by the former mechanic which he knew about when we brought the car in. Wait a minute, we brought the car in to be fixed, and it's not. You admit you knew about the issue? You are too busy for my wife and I? Go to pep boys? This is when he made it clear that not only was he clearly dishonest but he treated our loyalty to him, paid the price for his "excellent services" as if it meant nothing to him. I'll let whomever takes the time to read this review, judge as to whether or not they will bring in their car to Mr. MB Motors, but I will advise that you be aware of what has been fixed, what was charged, and what was said. read more

When I purchased this Mercedes (2002 SL500), I knew it would need some work to bring it back to excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. I checked several local shops and felt at ease at Mr. MB Motors. The place is clean, neat, and looks like caring professionals are running the place. Talking to the owner, Vik, I found that he has been working on these cars for many years, and comes highly recommended by Auto Steigler (who used to be THE Mercedes Dealer in the Valley). His knowledge of these older cars is top notch. He's probably forgotten more about these older cars than most younger mechanics have ever known about them. So fast forward a year or so, and I'm very happy with all the work, diagnostics, and recommendations from Vik. We only have a few more little things to fix that were done incorrectly, or not done at all, by the previous owner. This is the only place I'll take my SL for mechanical work. Mr MB Motors is now under new management/ ownership. I wanted to update my recommendation of this place of business. I've always been afraid to take my car somewhere to have it repaired. Not anymore. Mr. MB Motors has Integrity. They are the most knowledgeable, experienced, and trustworthy place you can take your vehicle if you have a Mercedes Benz. My car has over 250,000 miles on it and Mas and Carlos are the only ones that I trust to help me keep it running like it was new. Mercedes owners look no further. I brought my 98 e320 here for a transmission problem, which if you know anything about cars, you'll know it was beyond saving. I was told by several people that I was better off saying goodbye and buying a new car. Well, I decided to keep it and get it checked out by vik at Mr MB motors. They rebuilt my transmission and it has been running smoothly and beautifully since! My confidence in this business came after I took my car to several shops to get my AC fixed. It was pumping out hot air. Both shops I took my car to overcharged me and did not fix my problem. They also did an oil change and spilt oil all over my car. Vik not only fixed my air conditioning but cleaned up all the oil spilt in my car from G&G auto and it has been working ever since!! Very honest, genuine guy and will go out of his way to fix your car! I moved to Vegas and i still make the drive to CA to get my car fixed by him. Very disappointed in Jordan's review..(He should be a shop foreman now since he read the manual but in his defense, I've met a lot of guys who YouTube how to do an oil change and all of a sudden become self proclaimed auto mechanics) but take my word for it, I will NOT go anywhere else to get my car serviced. It's always nerve wrecking when that check engine light goes on and then you have to wonder how much is this repair going to cost me. I was a frequent visitor to another Independent Mercedes shop in the Valley and had decent service from them, however I never really knew what they were fixing or how they went about it. They don't give you a full diagnosis of the issue. Anyways on to Enrique, he is upfront and fair. He will bring you in to show you the issue and he will tell you when and when you shouldn't repair a part. I had a tire alignment done at another shop and they had said my shocks were bleeding badly and I needed to fix them. I asked Enrique to check it out and he told me straight off they would need to be replaced eventually, but I still had quite a bit of mileage before I needed to replace them. I trusted this since I didn't notice any difference from my ride condition. His prices are fair and definitely cheaper than any dealer. My only gripe is I wish he was closer to where I lived, but I'm more than willing to drive the 30+miles to get my mercedes serviced here. read more

I have had my cars serviced by Enrique at Mr. MB Motors for 20 years. He is very knowledgeable and fair beyond ones imagination. I have sent several people to him and they remain dedicated customers. In all the years I have used his services not once have I felt that he did not give me an accurate assessment of what the problem was with my car. He always does what is needed to complete the repair but never gives you a litany of reasons to do more work that is not immediately needed. Just taking some time to give Vic at MB Motors much props. I have been taking my car to Vic for over a year now and the service is always the best. Vic is very professional, courteous, humble and very knowledgable about the automotive business. The work done on my 2006 CLS 500 is top notch and my car is running better than ever. I took my car in for some maintenance work and Vic notified me that an error code indicated my SBC hydraulic unit was defective . Vic advised me that at some point I would need to replace this . Vic notified me that he was sure there was a recall on this part and that he would call the dealer to check this information for me. in the mean time Vic advised me if I had any problems with the brake warning lights to just pull the car over do not attempt to drive it. Flash forward a few days Vic took my car to Mercedez and was given the run around . Essentially they tried to say it was not the whole unit that was faulty ... It was another part within the unit so therefore it did not qualify for the recall. Vic did not give up..., he did his due diligence he stayed on it contacting and consulting with Mercedes people . I was still driving my car with all this information in the back of my mind and sure enough last week on my way to work I heard a strange noise, saw a flashing red message saying stop! Depress brake completely ! Stop. I followed directions and remembered what Vick told me about the SBC unit. I called Vick he knew immediately what the problem was I towed the car to his shop and the rest was history. Vick took the car back to Mercedes dealership ( drove it himself to assess ) presented his evaluation and documentation showing the SBC unit was faulty and therefore covered under warranty. Mercedez concurred with his diagnostuc evaluation and Vic saved the day and also saved me about $2000 if I were to pay for this out of pocket. I was very sad when I found out that Enrique retired after using his mechanic services for 6 years. BUT I'm very glad that he didn't sell his business just to anyone. The new owner Vik is just as trustworthy. I also found out that Vik has been a technician with Mercedes for over 30 years (working in Beverly Hills, Encino) and also been a shop foreman. I've brought in my 2006 ML350 (139,000 miles) for various issues. The thing that impressed me the most is that he knows a lot about the electronic/computer system of my car. I had an electronic issue in which Enrique and Mercedes of Calabasas could not properly figure out. It wasn't a big issue but annoying as heck. Vik was able to diagnose and fix the problem. I've brought in my car 3 times now (brakes, oil change, new batteries, electrical, B service) and been happy with his work. read more

I have received great work for reasonable prices from here for years. I have been a customer from the previous owner Enrique to the current owner Vik. Both have been more reliable and more reasonably priced than the dealer. There is a small waiting areas with comfortable couches, a TV and complimentary snacks, water, coffee and WiFi. I own a 2008 E550 and they have replaced my airmatic strut, coolant reservoir, valve cover gasket, tune up and regular maintenance including brakes. As long as I own a Mercedes I will patronize this shop. read more

During the past couple of months, it is clear that Vic has taken stock of the feedback that I and others have provided regarding our experiences. I am very pleased to provide this positive update. My father had over $3,000 worth of work done to his 1991 420SEL in October, 2014. It has become clear during the past few months that the work from October, 2014 was not performed properly - work performed by a Mr. MB Motors sublet/subcontractor. My father was able to have a reasonable discussion with Vic about this on Monday, February, 29, 2016. Yesterday, March 3, Vic informed my father that the defective workmanship has been resolved at no additional charge to my father. Although we still respectfully disagree about the labor rate and other price increases, the integrity that Vic has demonstrated is truly commendable and is motivating us to take a second look at remaining loyal customers of Mr. MB Motors. Unfortunately these Issues only surface once the technician is well into the repair and often cannot be assumed or projected beforehand. I had two jobs done by Enrique, both of them overpriced. On the third item described below, he attempted to diagnose an error code - but his diagnosis was incorrect. The first job he did was to replace a sensor under the front hood. It took only a few minutes to replace and he charged me $60 cash. He said that he would charge me more if I wanted a receipt. It sounds to me like this Enrique is not paying his taxes and in any event - doesn't want to provide a receipt for the parts/labor sold to the customer. I later learned that the dealer price on the part is around $20, so Enrique's price of $60 was not a 'great deal' or anything like that. Enrique claimed that his printer was broken and this was the reason why he was unable to provide a receipt / invoice as required by law. It was only $60 so no huge deal. The second job he did was brake pads. He did not write me an estimate or tell me how much it would be. I should have asked instead of assuming and hoping that he would be fair. He gouged me with the Dealer price for pads and labor. He claimed that he got the pads 'from the Dealer' which I doubt is true - but it's true that he charged me Dealer price. Enrique threw a little temper tantrum when I questioned which brake pads he used. Again, the total price was around $200 so not a huge deal. The third item was an error code that Enrique incorrectly diagnosed. He told me it needed an EGR and quoted me higher than Dealer price for the part. He said that the labor is 'not much' but we don't really know what that means. I took it to another mechanic on the Westside and he replaced the catalytic converter which solved the problem. There was nothing wrong with the EGR as Enrique suggested. Based on all of the above experiences, I will not be returning to Mr. MB Motors and cannot recommend his shop. I notice that the shop is not very busy which is a telling sign that he lacks a loyal customer base. read more
