I'm a little behind on another review. The short of it is "Dear LR enthusiasts, save yourself a lot of time and headache and come over to Y&L for your LT issues" Once again my car (this time an LR4) was diagnosed by another shop to have two failed fuel pumps. This is after I had taken my car to that very shop (never again) for a check up a week before hand and they charged handsomely to just lubricate the car! I argued that mechanical pumps don't fail all of a sudden, but that fell on deaf ears. Sure enough the York brothers were able to find the real issue (filthy sensor) and saved me not only a whole lot of time and money, but also prevented changing a perfectly fine genuine LR pump for god knows what. I live fairly far from the shop (dtla resident), but I'm happily going to get my car to Chatsworth for any minor or major needs. read more

I've been coming to Yorks and Lancs since Dad was running the business. Johnny was still in college, or had just graduated. They've never disappointed. Today was another exceptional experience. The guys have had my car since yesterday, knowing I was heading out of town today at noon. Getting very worried about when the car would be delivered (yes, they do that when I need it), Haley called to say that they're just going to drop it off and someone will follow and take the driver back to the shop! Saves me at least a half hour so I can still leave by noon today! And I can go by the shop on Monday morning to pay. It's what a 25+ year relationship earns, trust! Just love these guys! read more

Bought a Defender 90 about a year ago only to find out that these car need a professional mechanic to work on them. Tried a few that sounded convincing but failed. (poorly) to deliver. The car was setup wrong from overheating to electrical to suspension. I found Yorks & Lancs online and decided to try (after reading the reviews). I am glad I did! For the first time the car drives as it should, and I feel confident to hit the road. Prices are more than reasonable and there is no attempt to inflate the scope of work, in fact I had to ask them to add some stuff. It may not be an overnight service (some parts had to be ordered) bit it will be done right !!!!. I would definitely recommend and will go back as I restore and build up my rig. read more

These guys are absolutely the most honest and knowledgeable mechanics I have ever met. Both Jonny & Oliver are great. I took my 95 3.9 county due to an overheating issue. Three different so called mechanics told me its the head gasket but I wanted to see a specialist for rovers. I was referred to Yorks by Brtish Atlantic, I took car in and met Jonny, he told me to leave the car for few days and he will let me know what he diagnoses. When i went back in, Jonny told me the radiator needed a clean up, there was nothing wrong with my engine!! I don't know anything about cars, they could have told me it needed a head gaskets i would have agreed to do the job. This shows the type of family they are and the type of business they operate. The first time that I brought it there was right after I had bought it (with 145,000 + miles on the clock), and they did exxcatly what I ha hoped that they would do: they "triaged" the car and let me know what needed fixing in order of importance.
