We had the Mongolian beef, wonton soup, roast pork buns, and soup dumplings for lunch here. The meat in the Mongolian beef was good quality and tender. The wonton soup was way better than expected and the dumpling were super delicate and flavorful. Possibly the best wontons I have ever had. The appetizers were fantastic! Highly recommend the scallion pancakes and the dumplings. Unfortunately did not enjoy my main course (beef lo mein)- had a bit of a tomato taste to it. So glad this place is here!! For those who might not know, hand pulled noodles are an art form, and give the noodles an indescribable chewy "bite" to their consistency. "Qu-qu" which maybe translates as "chewy" but NOT like a gummy bear! Everything is delicious. The soup dumplings come piping hot, and be careful cuz even after you think you've sucked out most of the soup it might still squirt and explode on you if you try to bite into it! Tried the wonton soup today - wontons were packed with meat but delicate and tender morsels. The soup was also delicate white pepper flavor and nice cilantro to round it off. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share: Sweet and sour cucumber - this was probably the most memorable item out of what we ordered, the cucumber was fresh and had good flavor Tea eggs - these were alright Soup dumplings - these were okay but could use more flavor Pork dumplings - I'm not a dumpling expert but I feel like these were poorly wrapped as there was a lot of air between the wrapper and the meat so it was hard to pick them up and the meat pretty easily fell out of the wrapper Veggie dumplings - these were okay but it was really heavy on the mushrooms so this would be good for shiitake mushroom lovers Seafood dumplings - these were the best dumplings out of the ones we ordered, it was wrapped beautifully and had a good amount of filling in it, good flavor as well Chicken stir fry noodles, Shrimp fried noodles, Beef noodle soup - all of the noodles had really good texture but lacked flavor. The food came out pretty quickly after we ordered. There was very little conversation between the staff and us except for ordering. They do not come and check on you, you will have to flag them down if you need something. This is a good place to grab food if you want no frills and little interactions with the staff but they were friendly when we did interact with them! We did family style so we could try all of the items we ordered but was surprised that no plates or bowls came out with the food. We assumed they were going to get some after bringing our food out but we ended up having to ask for them after a while. I'm also surprised that they did not give you any soup spoons for the soup dumplings. Most restaurants that offer soup dumplings will automatically give you spoons as I cannot imagine popping the whole piping hot dumpling filled with soup in your mouth. The noodles were all really long so it was difficult to divide onto different plates. It would have been good if they were cut shorter, the staff explained that it wasn't possible because they were hand pulled by the chef. We tried asking for a pair of scissors or a knife so we can cut them on our own but they didn't have any. We had to use a very flimsy plastic knife that didn't really help. The cutlery and cups were all plastic and disposable so it's not very sustainable. Overall - we had an ok experience here. Most of the food lacked flavor but they offer soy sauce, chili oil and vinegar so that helps. I can see it being difficult to share your noodle entrees with others as they're difficult to pull apart! I hope they will consider purchasing scissors to allow customers to use them. read more

You enter, sit down and a waitstaff brings you water in a paper cup. You scan a QR code with your phone and order on the app. You pay with a credit card, and wait for the waitstaff to bring the food. You eat and you leave. That's it. Practically no interaction whatsoever. A fast food joint. And the chopsticks. About 2/3 the size of a regular chopstick. It is so hard to use. Just unbelievable. We were greeted/seated, and advised to use the QR code attached to the table to order (limits interaction with the staff but those we did interact with were pleasant and helpful. We opted to try the crispy spring rolls (3/5 run of the mill, nothing exciting but they were crispy and hot), pork bao buns (steamy hot super soft bun and tasty filling 3.5/5), Mongolian Beef (filled with onions in a sweet and spicy sauce 4.2/5) added rice but it was just ok (2.5/5 the rice seemed old to me) and the chicken vegetable stir fry noodles (you can choose the type of noodle you'd like so we went traditional, sauce was good, hand pulled noodles were good also plenty of veggies and chicken 3.8/5, could have used a bit more spice but you can add chili oil etc). Ever since Mr. Noodle opened I've had them on my list to try since they make one of my all time favorite foods, xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and I was also very intrigued that they made hand pulled noodles. Overall I loved the food and the experience breaks down into two parts for me: (1) Food - this to me is the most important, and I thought everything we ordered was delicious. I got the beef braised noodle soup, soup dumplings, pork dumplings pan fried, pork bao, scallion pancakes and their sweet and sour cucumbers. The unexpected star of the show were the pan fried pork dumplings. So good and will 1000% order these again. Xiao long bao were the best that I've had since moving to Richmond from the Bay Area. Noodles were the perfect thickness and chewiness in the soup. All in all, not a bad bite, with a couple of real wow moments. This is what makes me go to "5 stars" for the rating. (2) Experience - I think that there's a bit lacking here that made ordering and dining in a bit confusing, and I imagine this could be off putting to people, so writing here in hopes that it'll get addressed since I want them to be around forever serving their delicious food. The restaurant is very self service even though it's not super obvious. You order from a single kiosk that's a bit hidden along the wall, seat yourself, etc. They need a better sign or explanation up front to help guide people. Us and many others were confused when entering the restaurant. Getting more than one kiosk to order or allowing mobile orders from the tables would also help the flow to keep things moving faster. We also had to ask multiple times for soup spoons, bowls, etc. because they just weren't brought out with the food and they weren't at the table. All of these things are super solvable and I think their food makes up for all of this, but worth noting so when it's your first time there you don't get confused! We ordered at work the other day to-go, so first of all I have to give them mad props for their to-go set up. Excellent packaging! When we pulled the food out of the bag, we were all in shock at the portions. They were huge! Which was great because some of us were splitting. I had the beef noodle soup, their number one seller, and I was very much pleased. I know there was some small complaints about the soup not having a lot of flavor, but I thought it had a ton of flavor! Especially with all the green onion, chopped up in it, it gave little bursts of fresh flavor on top of the savory. There were plenty of hand pulled, really long noodles too. I probably could've turned this into two dishes, but because I knew full and well it was my lunch and dinner, I downed it while it was hot and fresh. My coworkers tried the chicken fried noodles with and without veggies. All of them were quite pleased with their dishes and the leftovers for later!
