The food is good and I love the crinkle cut fries. This morning, I had the Fair Oaks breakfast sandwich and small fries. I love Mr. Pickles sandwiches because they offer a large selection of veggies unlike some other sandwich locations. If you ask, you can add cucumbers to your sandwiches as well. They are pretty small, though at this location! Not too much space for sitting and parking outside. The food quality is always delicious and fresh. I say four stars instead of five only because they usually take quite a while to prepare the sandwiches, even though they aren't very busy. I live about 7 miles from this sandwich shop and have been a regular customer for years. Some weeks back, I placed an order by phone, went in, paid, and returned home. The hot pastrami which I ordered had been made wrong, messed up. I called the store, spoke with the owner, JR, explained the problem, and he said he would replace the order, a hot pastrami on Dutch Crunch and fries, next time I ordered. I called today, spoke with him to place that order. He said he didn't remember and that if I came in he would give me "a sandwich" but not offering to replace the bungled order. I award 1 star because of my prior patronage but won't be returning due to the unreliability of getting what I ordered and the unreliability of JR's doing what he promised. read more

This is a family owned Mr Pickles so I feel bad doing this but there were a few problems with our meal. Aside from the high prices, we received molding and rotting food. Multiple pieces of rotting lettuce, squishy and bad tomatoes with black mold and many pieces of pepperoncini stems that were hard. You're not supposed to eat the stems so I'm not sure why there were so many!? We also had multiple pieces of plastic in our salad. It's like they had bags of lettuce and cut them open and didn't take out the plastic pieces. We could have choked on those!!!! And there were multiple, not just one. The pickle was bad. It was mushy and there was nothing on the inside of the pickle. It was beginning to rot and tasted bad. We ordered a Mac salad, it was definitely not fresh because it tastes exactly like the pre made stuff you get from Raley's or Belair. So it wasn't very good. I get it, everyone is going through hard times, but this was pretty bad. I wouldn't recommend this location unless they fix these problems. read more

I don't know if I would recommend this place to others, but I seem to eat here about once every two months. Their pastrami sandwich is slightly above average, BLT and Club sandwich are both decent. Their bread is always fresh, they serve beer, the seating area is pleasant. The service is on point. They close at 4 or 5, so it's pretty much a lunch place. I have been going here for at least the past 5 years. Customer service is fantastic. Friendly service and good food. Sometimes the wait could be a bit long though it's worth it. It's family owned and well established in the community. The owner is a nice guy who cares about his customers. Some of the negative comments are not a true reflection of this establishment. The absolute worst experience I have had at a sandwich/deli restaurant in years. It took over an hour to make 5 sandwiches and they weren't even that busy. My husband and I love a good Mr.Pickles sandwich. We usually visit one in Citrus Heights near my Mother-in-law though this was closer and we didn't have plans to visit her today. We should have taken the empty parking lot at 12:00pm as a message to get in our car and dip. The staff were friendly and kind. The inside was clean with plenty of sitting room. Though when I pay $30+ on two sandwiches, I expect there to be fresh produce, proper meat portions, and more than a teaspoon of condiments. My husband got the triple club and received 1 strip of bacon, maybe 1.5 if we are being generous. I got the Star King and had even less cream cheese than Mayo and mustard and the avocado definitely tasted like it was hours from making me sick. I wish I read the reviews before spending my money here. It seems as though this location is not corporate owned and you can definitely tell with the lack of care put into the food. If this place could step it up in the food department it would be amazing, though with over a year of reviews like mine it seems like the owner is content with skimming by on the name. First off, I hate Dutch crunch bc it cuts the roof of your mouth, I ordered sourdough bread and it's so over baked it might as well have been Dutch crunch. The girls at the cashier are great, they're very sweet. Today I ordered food in advance because I was on a time crunch. They told me it would take 20 mins but I guess the owner didn't want to start preparing my sandwiches until i got there and paid for my food...so I waited an hour for my food to get ready. I was also using a coupon that I PURCHASED...but the owner always gives me a hard time about using the coupon. I feel bad writing a bad review about a privately owned business but based on all the other reviews, obviously something needs to change and the owner needs to step it up if he wants to continue having business. Our favorite sandwich has since closed (Madison Station) so we tried this place for the first time today. Their menu is very extensive and it took us quite some time to figure out what we wanted. They list a variety of specialty sandwiches, gyros, salads, and hamburgers. The husband picked the triple club and said it was pretty good. He also got a strawberry milkshake and fries. I got the roast beef and cheese sandwich on sourdough bread and it had a lot of meat, no scrimping on the meat and cheese for sure. In fact, I was only able to eat half the sandwich because I was already full. Nice friendly staff and due to COVID we were able to sit outside and waited for our order to be brought out to us. I entered and asked the young lady behind the counter if they have the Big Jake sandwich and she said of course. After I got home I noticed that they did not have any avocado or cream cheese on them so I decided to give them a call. When I called they said they are family owned and they change the menu to their own names and told me they have the sandwich which I thought was the big Jake but it's called something else? I then asked if it's possible to get the sandwich that I thought was big Jake and she said that they won't give a refund/exchange for that reason. I spent almost 40 dollars on something I don't even want. After pretty much cutting my losses I tried the sandwich. It is extremely dry with like a sliver of turkey. We came here this afternoon from my mother's suggestion for the first time at this location and they seem to offer quite a lot of food options to choose from compared to other locations I have been to. They had chili cheese fries, burgers, sandwiches, gyros, fresh baked cookies, homemade chips, ice cream, milkshakes, wine, beer etc. My mom ordered a pastrami sandwich and she said it didn't have that strong flavor of pastrami and said it taste bland. I tried it and thought it also lacked flavor, my 16 month old on the other hand loved it, she isn't very picky! I ordered the Avochee burger and it was huge and delicious, I added fries and they weren't advertised as such, but they were crinkle fries! Mm tasted like fresh potatoes too! I thought it implied that I get two free fountain drinks with my purchase whether that is true or not is not my issue. My issue is that when I asked about the fountain drinks the man there snapped at me and made me feel very uncomfortable for even asking the question. I was simply just asking a question in regards to the details of the coupon and he did not need to react so strongly. Where do I start.... First off I am normally not one to complain. I am a fan of Mr Pickles Sandwichs! Unfortunately I did not realize that this location was not like the others when I placed my order on Doordash. Basically a wanna be Mr Pickles Shop. I ordered 2 Hang Loose Sandwichs with "everything" on it. Now when you say "everything" that typically means lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, pepperoncini, garlic sauce, mayo, mustard. Well apparently I was wrong because all I received was lettuce and tomato. On top of that they don't even offer the free chocolate chip cookie with your sandwich. What a joke! I called the location and spoke with Veronica. She tried telling me that she could guarantee that "everything" was on my sandwich. When I tried to explain to her that it only had lettuce, and tomato she kept insisting that it had everything on it. I offered to send her a picture of my sandwich but she refused. She basically told me she was sorry and that I am a liar and hope I have a good evening. Like what kind of customer service is that. I work in the restaurant business and the service here is awful.
