    Yummy pupusas with Loroco
    Carina L.

Food 5/5 - I'm glad I found this hidden gem. Pupusas ricas with loroco (salad) were good ! So, for those of you who didn't know what a pupusa is, it is kind of like a deep fried quesadilla pancake that has beans, cheese and whatever choice of meat you would like. I usually get 2 plain beans and cheese, small but very fierce filling pupusas. They are also inexpensive too. My daughter loves the chicken tenders and French fries which is her favorite type of food. Service 5/5 - The waiter is very polite and makes sure your needs are met. My food came out very fast. Place is very clean and 1980s Back to the Future nostalgia--vibe in here. Ambiance 5/5 - Perfect date movie night since it's located right by the movie theatre right off Junipero Serra Blvd. I love how it's been 20 years ago when I went to the movie theatre and this place is still here.

This place has a Cheesecake Factory menu - you can get literally anything.. from breakfast classics to pupusas. Service was friendly albeit a bit slow. But we enjoyed the food! Pupusas are delicious but I wasn't a fan of the curtido here. It's very very fresh and I prefer a slightly more pickled version. Chili fries - nice crisp fries with no chili but beans and cheese on top. Tasty!

This became my go to place to eat breakfast with my girlfriend. The food is tasty. The environment is often quiet and calm. And the staff is always friendly, always checking on you, and willing to take custom orders. Recommended 100%.

Always wanted to try this place. Never had time before any movies next door. Today we had an hour before movie started. Very convenient before going in to watch. Such a varied choices in the menu from breakfast, lunch to dinner (8pm) Friendly staff and attentive to making sure our water glasses were always full. However I wish they gave ice with the water. We craved for burgers so we had a bacon burger and mushroom burger. Cut in half to share each other. I preferred the bacon burger. A little but more flavorful than the mushroom. I wonder if they would allow a mushroom burger with bacon as one sandwich. Next time I'll have to ask if possible. Time varies throughout the week so make sure you check their days of operation. Spacious and bright with natural lighting from full glass windows. Booths, open table and bar seating available with tv. Looking to try Ricas (Delicious) Papusas and moco loco for next visit. Till next time

Great diner food. Came here for a late brunch and was surprised by the variety of food choices. I ordered corn beef hash breakfast which came with eggs, hash browns, toast, and corn beef. Very delicious meal and big servings. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros which came with tortillas topped with sauce, eggs, beans, and avocado. He devoured his whole meal and loved every bite. Coffee was fresh and hot. I like the small details like having hot sauces and ketchup at each table. They even give you your own creamer and sugar. Service is very friendly. I took one star off because unfortunately service was a bit slow. It seems like it's a family-owned place which is why details matter to them. I would def come back to try more items.

3.5 * rounded. Westlake Coffee Shop in Daly City is a cozy little diner that we stumbled upon on Christmas Day when most breakfast spots were closed. We tried the bean and cheese pupusa, the vegetarian burger (the patty was fantastic!), and the French toast. The food was good across the board. An added bonus is the free parking in the garage right next door, making it super convenient. The staff is friendly and polite. However, on our second visit the service was slower, and the food took a bit longer to arrive. While the food quality remained consistent, the slower service is something to watch out for if you are in a hurry.

I think this place is a gem and the people that work there are very friendly. I am really into old school diners and I immediately got a good feeling once I walked inside. They have booths and a bar overlooking the kitchen where there is seating too. Great place to grab a cup of coffee, some greasy diner food, and/or a plate of fries (which is what my kids wanted). Free parking in the lot next door and a great place to grab a place to eat before or after your movie at the theater! I will be back!

Diner style food and the ambiance has some wear and tear, but it's a nice place to catch up with a friend. The service here is nice and polite. Loco moco is off menu, but it's a popular dish to get here. It was a little too bland for me, but you could always add salt. The eggs were cooked well. My friend got the Reuben and it was so good. I recommend. The fries that come on the side were not crispy enough tho. The pupusa was perfect. I got the one with beans and cheese and the cheese pull was amazing. This was ordered after getting the rest of our food and so glad we got it.

Westlake Coffee Shop is solid for a hearty breakfast. I met up with a relative here and was happy there's free parking at the garage next door. It's a nice Mom and Pop place and quite big inside. I can see how it can get busy on the weekends. I liked that the menu had a lot to choose from and I decided to be healthy and got the vegetarian omelette. The omelette was quite large and came with a side of crispy hash browns and two slices of toast with butter. It was so big I wasn't able to finish it and brought it home to eat later. Service was quick and efficient. They were nice enough not to kick us out since we were chatting for a long time.

We arrived past 4pm and ordered four drinks: two Mango Floats, a Turon Milk Tea, and a Lychee, Passion Fruit & Calamansi Tea. Although the store didn't appear busy and I was the only customer ordering drinks at the time (my daughter was waiting in the car), the wait ended up being much longer than expected. After about 15 minutes, one of the staff members approached me and apologized for the delay, explaining that they were missing an ingredient but assuring me that the drinks would be ready soon. I appreciated the communication and courtesy. However, it still took roughly 30 minutes from the time I ordered before we finally received our drinks. What made the experience more disappointing was that they had also run out of straws, so none were available with the drinks. In addition, the drinks themselves did not quite meet our expectations. Some tasted watered down, others seemed overly creamy, and none of the drinks included boba. I'm not sure if the missing ingredient mentioned earlier was related, but it may have contributed to the overall experience. While I appreciated the staff's professionalism and willingness to keep customers informed, the long wait, inventory shortages, and drink quality made this visit less enjoyable than we had hoped. I would be willing to give Kapwa another try in the future, as this may have been an unfortunate off day.

Even though it wasn't completely packed, I was so glad I made a reservation in advance! Most of the individual tables were taken, with mainly communal seating left, so having our spot locked in made the experience super smooth. We had our toddler with us, and since she asked for noodles, we ordered the Drunken Noodles and requested them non-spicy. It still had a tiny kick that was a bit much for her, but it was absolutely perfect for my husband and me! To make sure she was fed, we ordered the Pad Thai next--and she completely loved it! The rest of our meal was fantastic. The spicy eggplant had a great flavor without being overly hot, and the pork belly was amazingly crispy and rich. We had to rush home, so we missed out on dessert this time, but we'll definitely be back soon!

We ordered the Pineapple Painkiller and the Passionrita for drinks - $12 per cocktail (which feels like an insane deal in the bay area). Both were juicey and refreshing. To start, we got the Samosa Curry Puff. It was sinfully buttery, flakey, and full of curry flavored potato. The sweet and tangy cucumber salad on the side balances out the buttery decadence of the puff. Delicious and very filling to have 2 per person . The crispy rice salad, ohhhh my goodness. Insane flavor profile - super umami, crispy, and refreshing at the same time? Beware, we got the medium spicy, ignorant to the fact that Kan Kiin uses the THAI level spices. My mouth was on FIRE but the flavor was toooo good to stop eating. Absolutely delicious 11/10 We shared a Cloudy Chicken for the main. The chicken was fried crispy with sweet umami sauce clinging onto the skin. Another flavor bomb - goes super well with rice. Getting the crispy noodle bits that get blessed by the sauce is chefs kissss. The portions are pretty big, so we had leftovers and no space for mango sticky rice. Will definitely be back to try the other dishes ! Kan Kiin is definitely worth trying.
