I had an issue with my recent order from Mr. Pizza. I ordered a medium cheese pizza and 24 wings, with 12 hot buffalo and 12 honey barbecue. Instead, I received a pizza that was noticeably lacking sauce, which I didn't even complain about, and wings that were completely incorrect. The barbecue wings were half dry, and the buffalo wings had barbecue sauce poured over them. Both sets of wings were also fried to the point of being dry, and I could barely eat them. Only about three wings from each plate were eaten. I picked up my order around 10:50 PM, and the restaurant closes at 11 PM. This location has previously messed up a pizza for me, and when I called the next day, they remade it with no issue since they were already closed that night. This time, when I called after picking up my order, no one answered, so I waited until the next day to explain what happened. I genuinely assumed it was a simple mistake, but the food was not edible. When I called the next day, the first woman who answered remembered my exact order and transferred me to a gentleman working there. After explaining the situation, he told me the owner's policy is that customers must call immediately, even if the restaurant is closed. This makes no sense because no one answers the phone after closing. When I pointed that out, he then claimed there was another policy requiring the food to be returned exactly as it was. So after spending $50 on an incorrect order right before closing, I'm expected to go hungry until the next day and then drive 20 to 25 minutes back with the food. Had they been open, I would have returned immediately. During a previous mistake, I told them I would have to come back the next day, and no one mentioned any policy like this. Instead of offering a remake or refund, the gentleman offered me 25 percent off my next order, as if I should spend more money after receiving such poor service. As a long‑time customer, I can say the service has noticeably declined. I was also told that the manager, Evelyn, would follow up later that day, but I never received a call back. This was a very disappointing experience, and based on the service I received, I can no longer recommend this location to others. read more

I had a taste for a sausage pizza. I know the last time I went to Mr.Pizza my food was banging like always. I showed the lady behind the counter how I wanted my pizza prepared. They didnt disppoint. When I walked into Mr. Pizza it just brings back so many good memories. The ambiance is nostalgic and you always see someone from back in the day. You end up having a high school reunion. As I was returning back to New Jersey from a work trip in Boston I found my eye lids heavier than I could control so I booked a hotel in Hartford, CT. To my dismay nothing was open except the usual fast food suspects and a few random pizza spots. Mr. Pizza had decent reviews so I ordered a small mushroom, pepper, and garlic pie. I was humored to arrive to a pizza spot with bars in the windows, told me exactly where I was but I went in and picked up my pie. The young woman at the counter was super friendly and attentive so for that I give them 3 stars. The pie itself was edible but nothing I would give to my family. I appreciate that they are open late night but the garlic was placed on top like a garnish and cooked and when eaten it was almost crunchy like cheese. Not good. Perhaps day time is better. First of all, the people were soo kind. Truly so sweet. I asked for my chicken wings to be a mix of hot sauce and bbq sauce and the man who took my order was so kind about it. The environment is very calm and friendly. Everyone who walks in there seems friendly too. It's all smiles on the inside which is wonderful to see. And oh boy, does it smell delicious in there. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again Secondly, something that's not very common is turkey bacon pizza. I can't eat pork, and neither can the rest of my family due to religious and palate preferences. Them having a turkey bacon pizza topping was my deciding factor on going there and they definitely did not disappoint! The pizza slices were delicious and a great size for the price. Altogether, I paid $16 ($2 tip included). The toppings each were a lil pricy but that's to be expected anywhere so. There was a good amount of delicious tomato sauce, cheese, and topping on both pizzas. They're not light with the toppings which is really nice to see in comparison to some chain pizza restaurants like dominos or Pizza Hut. 10/10 will be back here if I'm craving some delicious pizza! Although I've heard nothing but rave reviews ever since childhood from almost everyone I know, I personally was never intrigued enough to get Mr. Pizza. Beau brought home this pie and let me say I've been missing out lol. Anyway checkout the photo of this Sausage and Bacon pizza. It was too good. Photo was taken after digging in. It was thin crust which I LOVE, great amount of toppings with sausage and bacon in almost every bite. My review is based solely on the food since I didn't order it and still haven't physically gone into Mr. Pizza lol. I'm definitely going to check them out now for other menu items. I will preface my review by stating that I do recommend Mr. Pizza. Plus, they have been serving the community for ages. This is a neighborhood staple of sorts. This place is not bad by any means, but there is a lot of room for improvement. When they are on point with the food, it is AWESOME!! The inconsistency is what gets me. Today they will perfectly make my pizza as if mine was the only order they had to devote time to for the day. Tomorrow, it will taste and look like trash or be incredibly overcooked. You really never know what you're getting until you get there. If you let them know why our unsatisfied, they will fix it. They have been great about that the very few times I've complained. The sandwiches and wings are good but another item that is not consistently amazing. It really all depends on who is cooking that day. The service is mediocre and often the team is unorganized and flustered. Although I do love this place. I'm disappointed. They got my whole order wrong (for the SECOND TIME same person different occurrences). Instead of the person on the phone admitting their faults, I got attitude. Luckily a kind man remedied my situation but I'm pissed off. 1) I ordered an EGGPLANT PIZZA, with half having pepperoni with it. Mr Pizza has been around for 40 yrs, they moved from across the street, 30 years ago. Centrally located in the busy, upper Blue Hills shopping district and just a few yards from the Bloomfield town line. It's a neighborhood pizza place, frequented by the locals and former local residents, who have now moved to the surrounding suburbs (Bloomfield / Windsor). This can be a sit down place, but, "Take out" and "Call In" orders are 95% of the business! You may be able to squeeze in 30-40 sit down clientele. But rarely do you see more than 3 or 4 seated (no waitress or waiter service). The Menu items are expansive, the food is good n hot and the price is fair. If you use the word, "Cuisine", this may not be a spot for you. This is a working class crowd (city, state, self employed, mfg.,) mixed in with local merchants and professionals too. I spent my teenage years, young adult and empty nester time, visiting this place. Due to calorie intake concerns, I've made this type of food a treat n not a staple, when considering my dietary plans. Fair n friendly service, but, Shrinking Violet's", are not in abundance there. The best part is the open kitchen layout, you will see n hear regulars, having their orders customized on the fly. Tell em how you want it n they'll try to make it, "your way".
