This was a huge disappointment. First time ordering, heard such good things. I got a chicken shwarma wrap with added lettuce and seasoned fries. No lettuce, no seasoning on the fries, including salt, and the fries were not even half way cooked. They were still hard in the middle and white on the outside. The shwarma was pure curry flavored, nothing else. If I'd wanted curry chicken I would have ordered it. We got a side of falafel, which was also barely fried and still soft, not crisp at all, and you guessed it, tasted like curry patties, not chickpeas. We ordered both types of baklava. The $6.99 Nutella baklava was 2- 1 inch squares. They forgot to include their "most popular" baklava in the order at all. It was too many things that tasted poorly or weren't even cooked properly to think there was a new cook. Plus forgotten items in the order. Overall it was a waste of money and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone. No one there seemed to care about quality control or accuracy.

This food was delicious. Highly recommend, hence the name of the restaurant , shawarma. I personally like the chicken plate with rice because it came with a little salad and some hummus. Brought all my friends here and would recommend anyone else to as well. Service was quick and the art was really pretty.

Service was horrible I asked for a cup for water because they have fountain drinks and the lady with extra lipstick taking my order said she does not have a cup for water I would have to buy a bottle - it's 100 degrees outside and like 90 degrees in the store it's so hot they have fans going which is loud and now they are playing their mucus even louder to cover the sound. They have flies flying around all over the place and the parking spaces are tiny and the parking lot is filthy looks like a landfill out here. Not a fan of this place already and I just placed my order let's see how the food is... they need to turn the AC on it feel like I'm in the Middle East it's actually hotter in the restaurant than it is outside. The chicken lacks flavor you need to drown it in sauce to power it down the flies don't even like the food they are staying away from it. Just tried the chicken without the sauce it's not edible it's gross lack flavor and is dry not good I will not be returning it's hot in here the staff is rude and the food needs sauce like a pool of it to power it down - shame on them - One guy came out and asked how was everything and was nice and offered me more sauce thank God for him... Ok he saves the day ... I think she told him I'm writing a review The sauce makes it better and if it has a little spice to it we would be ok. But just a little training if you have a restaurant and no AC offer free water cups

A.MAZ.ING!! Been here a few times, they use to be in PB but they got ran out of there, now they are in El Cajon. I will follow you guys wherever you go, THE BEST shawarma in all of SD!! Believe it or not, but this was our first time ever ordering from a Food truck and we didn't even realize it until we pulled up! Just tried the location by 30th and grape today. It's a good truck so they move to different areas. Once I saw it I had to turn back and grab some, honestly the best shawarma I have tried in San Diego. There is just something about the shawarma meat that's different and taste so so good. Very moist and tender, it's wonderful. The bread was super warm and crunchy, very tasty. The girl in the front was super nice too she even walked my order to the car when it was ready. Great customer service and food. 5/5 in my book!

I was walking on this dimly lit sidewalk by my home. I was wandering around looking for food with my brother and it was one of those cold San Diego evenings (lol). When I found mr. shawarma I was stoked. It's almost like an adventure where you've managed to find the room with a secret treasure at the end of it. Except this time the secret treasure was delicious chicken shawarma and a burger.... and fries. Very tasty and very classically food truck greasy and delicious. It's only one guy working so you might have to wait a while but it's worth it. I'm definitely coming back. read more

One star is for being irresponsible to not changing your time/closed sign on yelp page due to some of us people driving down out of our ways to come and eat your food but you have no respect for peoples time to add that you are closed or serving a event. People if you are driving to this joint to eat I'm sure you can drive to El Cajon to eat real fresh shawarma that will beat the socks out of your foot. read more

We just discovered this food truck, and we're glad we did! It was too late to cook dinner, and we were starving, so turned to Yelp! for help. Mr Shawarma has a limited menu, making ordering easy. I had the salad combo with chicken and beef. It was delicious, fresh, with generous protein portions. We wanted to try the falafel. Though a little overfried (extra crunchy), the flavor was great accented by garlic aioli-like sauce. Wish it came with a bit more - could drink that stuff. My DH got the beef shawarma wrap, and he enjoyed it very much. We ended with baklava; that could never be bad. Very enjoyable All of this and two drinks only came to around $20. Win! We ordered online, which can sometimes be iffy. The only improvement or criticism we'd have is the pickup process seemed a little disorganized, and the person at the window wasn't really sure of our order. It was a good surprise when we got home, everything was nicely prepared, and the order was correct. With Promiscuous Fork still not replaced, I predict success and longevity for Mr. Shawarma. Great food, reasonable prices, prompt service! Don't drive away!! read more

You ever eat a burger when you're sad, and then the minute you finish you feel a wave of happiness wash over you? Me neither- til I ate here! There was a guy that had a burger who told the guy in the truck to hook him up with a good burger. I told the guy in the truck the same thing. Man, it's really damned good. I'm sitting here writing this and I feel a full body buzz. Soul food for sure! As a competitor to Rocky's, it provides a solid alternative. So damned good, so fast. I would stay away from the fries, but the burger was just SOOOOOO good. read more

Really good chicken shawarma, the serve combos 'arabi style which is shawarma wrap cut in 5-6 pieces, comes with delicious fries and garlic sauce, as well as come pickles and peppers on the side. Sooo good. Tender chicken, always fresh bread and garlic sauce is not too garlicky. Usually takes sometime to prepare the food, so be patient or try delivery. I've also tried the Babaganoush which was fresh and delicious. They located in the gas station parking lot and it's easy to find them. read more

Where should I begin? I guess a little bit of my background, I am of Lebanese origins, I moved to San Diego in 2013. If you haven't heard about Lebanese food? It is some of the best in the word which makes Lebanese people some of the best critics when it comes to Middle Eastern Food. When I saw the reviews to this spot, I wondered, were they written by Westerns or by Middle Easterns, and if by Middle Easterns, were there any Lebanese tasters? Well there's this one now! Every time I ate a burger at a new spot, I share my opinion, and even for the best one I say "but it does not compare to the burger we make back home". Why? Well it's the flavor of the patties! In USA burger patties are just plain ground meat not even salted, back home patties have spices and flavor! I finally found the best burger that tastes just like home! I had missed this flavor and I can't express how delicious it was and how happy I am to have found this little food truck! Aside from the burger, I also tried Falafel, and were incredibly delicious, so crispy and so yummy. And the shawarma is super awesome. Make sure you get some French Fries too! I stopped In for gas today at the station across from Crest Liquor on Ingraham st at 4:30 today was getting gas and going home for dinner. I notices a nice looking shawarma truck sitting in the parking lot of the gas station. Lucky me! Good Shawarma is tough to find especially with 10 miles of 92109 PB. The owner was very polite and gracious explaining to me that he was just starting up, how he made his food etc. I ordered beef Shawarma and Falafel. I loved it, the fries were crisp the meat was tender. Everything about it, including the service was first class. Delicious food. Great owner. Without realizing the first time i went was a couple minutes before close, the owner had very little inventory left but was still kind enough to prep us something as well as offering us his new item. Some sort of tender wrapped meal and it was great. Second time i went i tried their most famous item the Habibi Burger and it didnt disappoint to say the least. read more

Got the Mr. Shawarma fries with beef. If you don't eat red meat, sucks for you. The Halal flavoring on the tender beef with the crispy seasoned fries, all covered in their yogurt dip, is insane. Tons of it too, can feed 2-4 people depending on how much you want to gorge yourself. Get the Baklava. All other baklava desserts have now become an abomination. Super crispy and flaky on top, but so dense and moist on the bottom, with just the right amount of honey and loaded with so much pistachio nuggets that you have use your tongue to clean your teeth for an hour after. Yes it's gross, I know, but I'm doing it right now while I write this. You're welcome. Go get it now and you'll thank me. Cheers. read more

Love this place, we we're out late and we're really hungry, so we found the place. At first we were a little hesitant but went for it, after trying their food(Beef Shawarma) a am really satisfied, delicious food, so juicy and melts in your mouth, I am really happy and even more satisfied would definitely come back, to try more of their food. I highly recommend to try out. Service was great very friendly and down to earth people. This place would win worse food truck in San Diego if that award was offered. Terrible service & terrible food! I was told the food would take 25 minutes, over an hour later and the food still wasn't ready. To add to the frustration, they forgot one of the orders and I had to wait longer. The food was drenched in salt, very little to no taste. Absolutely never coming back. read more

If you're looking for delicious middle eastern food l, then no look further than Mr. shawarma! Cant tell you how many middle eastern spots I've tried and none of them compare to this place! My favorite thing is the chicken shawarma salad ( which I can eat everyday) or the chicken shawarma wrap, but everything here is good! Can't rave enough about this place.. if you're in the pacific beach area or looking for a good place to get some flavorful food then trust me when I say it's worth the drive! :) read more

These guys get it! Great hummus, salad dressing is top notch and the pomegranate on the tabouleh is the cherry on top! Only disappointment was that they ran out of baba ghanoush, but I will definitely be back to satisfy that craving! Well done!!! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Mohammed A.

I'm a chemical engineer, I graduated from UCSD in 2018 and started this food truck to be the first shawarma food truck in San Diego. The main goal for me is to serve the original middle eastern style of the Shawarma and Falafel. This will be one of many Mr. Shawarma trucks in Southern California soon

These guys are horrible. I ordered on the phone about a week ago, they told me 45 minutes, i showed up and it took an extra 45 minutes to get my food. The food was decent so i just called back right now to make an order and told the guy can you give me an exact time because this is what happened last time. The guy on the phone argued with me and told me its impossible and pretty much told me im a liar. I told him it did happen but its okay and he argued with me and told me "do you want the food or no?" Last 3 times I've come here have been far from what the place usually is. I don't know what's going on but the change is about to make me stop coming. my wraps are cold and falling apart, I pay about 9 bucks for add ons that I haven't gotten 3x times in a row which is now $22 I've paid them to not get the food I've paid to have included. The staff is very nice, the service is good, but the food was the reason for 3 stars instead of 4…read morestars. The location is north Vista, in a small strip mall, with horrible parking and a designed flawed driveway. The ambiance is ok, it is clean and nice. We ordered a mix of things. The hummus was good. The chicken pita sandwich and fries were very soggy when I got home to eat them. The pita was falling apart, the chicken was good, but the sandwich had ingredients that are not normally on the chicken pita's at other places. The sandwich was ok, and maybe if I try it at the restaurant, fresh it would be better. The salad with chicken was ok, but the chicken was overdone. The gyro, rice, pita plate was ok. The baklava seemed to be a little burnt on the bottom but it had a good flavor. Maybe it was just a bad night for the food that we got or it sat too long steaming in the to go containers. We picked it because of all the good reviews and high rating. I posted some pics for you to check out.
