Was it a mistake to order their spiciest wings on my first visit? Would the price I paid for the combo meal justify the quantity and my satisfaction with it? Do the patrons REALLY watch those music videos? Well, it's definitely all about the chicken here. That first bite of a boneless wing with the Spicy Galbi was indeed a taste-bud-awakener, but after that it was all flavor and the right level of crispness. I definitely wanted more. The fries were interesting. They were nicely crisp, and they were lightly covered with some kind of coating that was both subtly spicy and subtly sweet. They were certainly fine, but I'll explore other sides on future visits like the cole slaw and the pickled radishes. The price for a combo, $13.99 plus tax and tip extra... well ... since I'm really here for the chicken, maybe next time I'll just order a big batch of wings and do something else instead of (the starchy) sides. Those music videos... today they were all from a K-pop girl group known as aespa, evidently quite successful internationally. Clearly I am not their target audience. But as background music, it was pleasant enough. Since it's roughly 15 minutes from my house to here, ordering in advance seems like the way to go. It is indeed worth it for the chicken.

I'm sure there's an Albany location for this Korean fried chicken chain and I remember being put…read moreoff when I first looked it up a few years ago, although I'm not sure by what. The fried chicken with their "secret sauce" is one of the better versions of what I consider to be authentic, so my rating is based mostly on this. Things that would've made for a 5- star experience relate to the ultimate Korean fried chicken and pizza joint in the Atlanta region, where they play a Korean TV show on mute (or music videos, although I almost never watch them with intention) and have utensils and crockery that at least remotely make you feel like you're dining out if you decide to eat in like we did.. For example, bb.q only had plastic forks and not even a paper plate. And regrettably like many Korean fried chicken joints in the U.S., they charge separately for sides such as pickled radish. Speaking of which, they charge $0.95 for a little cup of radish and most of the mass was liquid, forcing me to ration even though we ordered two of them. Moreover, one of the radish cups clearly had been sitting out and they still served it, as I overheard the front staff say to the kitchen staff, "I need two radish.. actually, only one, there's one sitting out here already, I'm not gonna waste that." Anyone who knows and appreciates the crunch of the radish that complements Korean fried chicken will understand how this affects the radish and the diminished enjoyment. On a positive note, the chicken was tender and the sauce, although not one of the best I've had of its kind, was more like the authentic sticky and sweet 'yang nyoem' that I've come to love. There was an unidentifiable note to the flavour of the sauce that I didn't like but it didn't detract completely from enjoyment. If there was a half star rating I would consider 3.5 stars. Then again, I'm glad there's a decent Korean fried chicken joint in our neck of the woods away from big cities, and I wouldn't mind going back. I hope they continue to improve.

But the burgers are usually just how I expect it, not burnt, and always great. One thing I'd love to point out is that they seem to have (finally) changed the fry container from a coffee insulated cup which makes fries soggy to a normal paper bag type container. Montreal area had this last time I went to Canada and it was a welcome change. My order today came with the paper bag container for fries (plus the typical "bag fries" which are always a highlight)... and it was much better.

The shift super/manager just explained to the kids that ordered when I did, that there's only two people working the line. Well, there's at least 6 people behind the counter, surely you could use a couple of them for something. The drink machine is backed up and soda is pouring onto the counter. That's just nasty. Pretty sure the diet soda was hooked up to the regular line, too. It tastes pretty weird. Hell, I should have looked at my order because they're notorious for not getting that much right. But honestly, right now,no don't even care. The soda is diet and everything was cold by the time I got to my car. So much disappointment.

This was a totally DISGUSTING experience to get some of the worst "food" I've ever tried to eat. It was cold, tasteless, and disgusting just like the people working there. Stay away. This is a microcosm or what is wrong with today's youth and the fast food industry as a whole. HORRIBLE place. HORRIBLE people, and if possible even more HORRIBLE food. An earlier email reminder from the Mealeo CEO that I had over $3 in Mealeo credits reminded me that this would be a good opportunity to place my order at Country Drive-In through Mealeo to take advantage of my rewards. I was initially surprised that upon placing our order at 6:30 pm that it was not going to be ready until 7:15. But when I arrived at CD-I at 7:10 I could better understand. They were slammed with customers. I let the pickup window know that I was there for my order, and they said they would check on it. At exactly 7:15 they brought my order to the window. Ahh, reliable efficiency! My wife had decided to order a Tuna Melt ($8.39), I went traditional with the Sausage sandwich ($9.59), and a large order of Homemade Onion Rings ($7.19) for us to share. The Tuna Melt had little if any tuna flavor, very disappointing. The Sausage was one of the best I've had from them (there have been some off years recently). It was just greasy enough with the peppers and onions on top of the sausage patty that the fresh and soft brioche bun (not the hard roll indicated on the menu) prevented any loss of drippings for a flavorful bite each time. The onion rings were perfect this time also. Not overly greasy even as they cooled down. All of this is why we keep returning every season.
