Luckily I was able to make it to Mr. Tire on a spare, and the employees were kind, patient, and hardworking - even just 1 hour before they were closing for the day to head home for the holiday. The price was extremely reasonable and the work was done in a timely manner. Overall, my experience was wonderful, and I am so thankful they stayed open on Christmas Eve later than anyone else had that day! If they hadn't, I'm not sure I would have made it home for the holiday. read more

I dealt with Appalachian Tire for over 10 years and never had an issue or a complaint. Since they've changed hands you can tell the difference. I took my car in for a simple inspection sticker. A couple of weeks later I noticed it was idling funny, then yesterday when I was leaving for work my car wouldn't start and the power steering light came on. I called a friend that is a mechanic and while I had him in the phone, I popped the hood to find my filter just laying there, and no filter where it's supposed to be. When I called Mr. Tire I was told to tow it in at my own expense and they would look at it. They kept questioning where I got my last oil change at, like they were trying to place them blame on someone else, but they also did my last oil change....even then, the guy filled my washer fluid and checked my oil when I had the inspection, so they were definitely the last one under the hood. In the end, I had it taken care of somewhere else and once a filter was put back in it, it eventually started. read more

I left a star because it made me, but really I don't even think it's worth one star. I came in a few months ago for a full set of tires and when they couldn't find me in the system, the guy (his name was Greg) was just super annoyed with me and just over trying to help me. I finally pulled up my email and gave him the number and they found my order. This was after a month of me ordering the tires, paying for them, and never getting any delivery details when I would call about the tires, but I digress... everyone is entitled to a bad day so I don't usually let an experience like this influence my judgement on someone. I came in today because I'm having issues with one of the tires that is 2 months old and an oil change, and again, Greg's coworker couldn't find me in the system and he asked Greg to help him and he just wouldn't. I had an appointment at 9:00am and after a 20 minute check in, I was told they would get to me when they had a bay open. I'm still here waiting, 2 hours later for basically an oil change (because the tire issue I thought I was having has resolved itself and I told them not to worry about it). My wife came with me, she is the manager for a local branch of a corporate company that has a company vehicle here and she needed the EZ PASS and GPS out of one of her company vans and Greg told her she couldn't have the GPS and EZ PASS until the van was picked up. The van is a total loss. The corporate company is sending someone next week to get it and crush it. It's a corporation. They are going to pay you per day it's on the lot. I hope Mr. Tire is okay with Greg chasing customers (private and corporate) away. He has a terrible attitude. As I'm typing this, an elderly woman asked him for water because she isn't feeling well and he told her to walk about 150 feet down a hall way to drink out of a water fountain. I get taking care of people isn't his job, but customer service is, and to some extend, he should have some compassion. So if 2 hour oil changes and being talked to like crap for existing is your thing, then I guess Mr. Tire is the perfect place for you! We're from WAY out of town, driving through on a return trip home and the car was making a troubling noise. My brother, a mechanic, thought it might be a belt problem with one of the tires and suggested we take it to a reputable tire place. We went to Mr. Tire, they had a look at it within minutes and confirmed that the problem was, indeed, broken belts on the rear tires. They gave us a great price on two tires, got them mounted and had us back on the road in a very reasonable amount of time. Service writer was friendly and helpful. All in all as terrific an experience as one can have when it comes to car troubles on the road. read more

I was traveling from Washington, DC to Arkansas when my car broke down. I called Me. Tire and they were able to take a look at my car that day and even though they were unable to fix my problem they kept my car inside and safe through the weekend until I could get a tow to a dealership. I spoke with both Greg and Ben and I can't thank them enough for their patience and kindness to a woman traveling alone who ended up with a big problem that she didn't how to correct. read more

When I got inside I waited about 5 minutes for someone to service me and then when I told them I had an appointment they had told me it wasn't showing up and that they could book me another day I kindly declined and left. This is a very unreliable place considering I needed the tires asap so I could begin my road trip. read more

I called 2days before Thanksgiving & ask if they would be open the day after TG they said yes, I said I have 4 tires that need mounted and balanced. What would be the charge, I was told 19.99 I said see you Friday. I arrived @ 9:45am, attendant ask how he could help, I said that I had 4 tires that needed M&B he said that they did not install tires that they did not sale because of liability and I said that they are brand new & he said if we destroy them that they would be liable for them. Right behind the desk was a price list that said mount& balance / non- store purchase 24.99 rather than argue with the idiot I just walked out. Never to be seen by them again. Prices are not cheap, you'll spend a minimum of 2 hours here. Ive had my oil changed twice here, they always say 'about an hour'. I set up an appoint and everything, doesn't matter. My car will sit outside for an hour and then it'll take another hour for everything to get closed to 'wrapped up'. A nice clean shop but every time I come, they always try to get me to do more and they take a long time. Nice guys, just slow, and not cheap. read more

Went to Mr Tire in Hurricane, WV for an Oil Change & free Price on a New Muffler And next thing I knew the young mechanic had my wheel on the ground and then they put Fear/ Pressured Me that I needed Brakes on a car that had just pass WV State Inspection . I left with an oil change and a new set of Brakes front & rear that cost me $ 500 dollars, on a car that had half way decent brakes to start with... they like to sell extra work at fairly high prices to customers and stick them with a excessively high bill if you do not stop them... will probably not go there again. We ordered tires here for our SUV. We showed them a picture of the tires we wanted as well as told them the specific model number twice. They still ended up ordering the wrong tires. Also, they said they would call when our car was finished. 2 1/2 hours passed and no call. When we went down to the service center our car was in the parking lot ready. No phone call. Came in for 4 tires and an alignment, Dave the store manager came and informed us we needed a wheel bearing. Instead of trying to get us to get them to fix it cause price would be 200+ to fix it. Asked us what we wanted to do. Looked online found wheel bearing at a good price, have family that knows how to put it in and we can bring it back to get the alignment. Thank you Appalachian Tire. Recently had my oil changed. At about 2000 miles in, I notice issues with my engine. Checked the oil and it was pitch black. Currently getting it changed elsewhere and was informed there was barely any oil in the engine. Unacceptable. read more

My friend has had service done here and they rotated his tires- ever since then, he has had 2 flat tires and a leaky tire (they basically screwed them up) He has never had that problem before taking his car here. Their wait times are never realistic and they charge you way too much for the quality of service provided. Avoid at all costs if you like your tires! It will just cost you more down the line. read more

I am not from San Fran btw...South Charleston boy here! Teays Valley location for an alignment and rotation. All I can say is watch out, and read this experience... Tech pulled my car out of the bay after completion (not really, more on that in a minute). An employee, the manager I believe, was running his remote control car around the parking lot, and the tech ran over it in my car. Ok, that happens all the time, right??? So I get it home only to discover when backing out of my driveway, that the tech failed to button my inner fender cover back and it peeled back like a banana, making a terrible noise. Had to run over to the local parts store for the clips of course and had to finish the job myself in the parking lot. Called and spoke to the store manager the next day and was offered a deal (which really wasn't a deal) to compensate on a set of new tires. So I had to basically spend more money to make things right.lol Called corporate and got nothing other than they were backing whatever the manager offered me. These guys will rip you off and not think twice. If they say you need struts, run run RUN to another mechanic! Three of us were told by these crooks we needed struts to pass inspection. Lucky for the third one he took his car to another mechanic who said he did NOT need struts, so he saved $1,000. The other two of us were not so lucky. Also they claimed to have done an oil change (a $20 oil change will cost you $80 here) which the other mechanic confirmed they had not. Don't get taken by these guys. Go elsewhere! read more
