I wanted to trust them. I had new tires put on and wanted an alignment. They initially forgot about charging me for an alignment (which they never planned to do) so I left my car with them over the weekend. On Monday evening they said the car was finished. I went in and paid but received no alignment info like a normal shop would give you. On the way home the car still drifted to the right. I took it to Willoughby Hills Auto and paid for another alignment to keep Mr. Tire honest. The Toe was out of spec on both right (.72 degrees) and left (.82 degrees). The specified range is -0.09 to 0.28 degrees. Mr. Tire did not even attempt an alignment! I imagine the alignment I got for my wife's car back in October was a sham also. These must all be very old reviews, cause I've been to Mr Tire in Chesterland several times over the last few months, and each trip for battery, transmission service, and tire rotation has been smooth and successful. Mr. Tire in Chesterland is your typical chain auto shop. They will rip you off if you give them the chance. Two years ago, I took my car to them for a check-engine light. I was told, and I quote, "nothing is mechanically wrong in any way with this vehicle." A week later, the transmission lines blew out due to what should've been easily observable rust and wear. It cost me $1500 from an independent shop to repair the lines and rebuild my transmission. I ended up back at Mr. Tire about a year later, another check engine light. This one was related to the evap system. They actually told me, "there are too many evap parts for us to determine what the issue is, so we'll just replace random parts until you've reached $300 and qualify for an exemption from E-check. (E-check is required for renewing plates in my area.) Finally, I needed an ABS sensor repaired. They told me it would cost around $2,000 because the tech "may" need to damage the brake caliper to get to the sensor, and said tech refused to work on only one; they'd need to replace both calipers to replace a $30 part, at a cost of around two grand. Upon service (which was done incorrectly) I was told they would take $50 off my bill if we gave them a 5 star review and then showed them proof. These people seem to get some kind of twisted pleasure from wasting peoples valuable time. It's like entertainment for these guys! They literally sit around all day thinking of new ways to chase people away! The employees are clearly content with doing NOTHING all day and collecting their pay check from corporate while they play "bait & switch" games with customers all day and literally lie to your face! One guy (big guy who answers the phone) actually told me to my face that nobody there spoke to me on the phone and gave me the quote I was given... when I showed him my phone's call log and asked him "is this your phone number?" He replies "YUP, that's our number, but you didn't talk to anyone here"!!! The call was 45 minutes before I got there, and the person on the phone sounded EXACTLY like "BIG GUY" who was now in front of me lying to my face! WTF??? I should have read the reviews before going, but the fact that corporate is aware of what goes on there and does NOTHING to address it, should tell you everything you need to know about this FARCE of a business! They are only interested in doing work on your car if they can create a $2500 or more job out of a ridiculously simple repair that should cost under $100.... That's how much I paid after I RAN from this joke of a place and went elsewhere! You will notice there bays are almost ALWAYS EMPTY.... I wonder why! Should have read the reviews before going there to see why my car wouldn't start. Took it in and they said that they will do a complete diagnostic test to see exactly what is wrong with the car. , 3 hours later they fixed the starter. Asked if they did do the diagnostic test and they said they did not that they went by what I said. Well 2 days later guess what my car didn't start. They said they will look at it again, but after spending $300.00 on something that didn't need fixed, I decided to take it to the Ford Dealership where they ran he full diagnostic and it was the ignition that wasn't working and that cost me over $400.00. Did complain to the corporate office and they only refunded me the $114.00 labor fee. Should have been more since it was their fault but I guess it's better than nothing. read more

Don't walk away from Mr. Tire in Chesterland....RUN as fast as you can. They are the most dishonest place around. I bought tires from them and got a long speech about buying the warranty which would cover them up to 40K miles (prorated). 7,000 miles later two were worn down. They told me they wouldn't honor the warranty but would discount two new tires. He gave me a price over the phone. I was not happy with this but he had my car and I needed tires so I agreed to the price (which wasn't really discounted). When I got there he gave me the bill which was 80 more than he quoted me on the phone. I said thats not what we talked about and he said "i know but I decided not to apply the discount". He said take it or he could put the old tires back on but would have to charge me for the labor to do it. I wrote a letter to their Corporate and they never responded. I will never go to a MR Tire again anywhere. read more

Trust the low reviews and take your business elsewhere. I purchased four (4) tires from TireBuyer.com and had them delivered to Mr. Tire. I told Mr. Tire the make and model of my car over the phone when making the appointment, so they knew well ahead of time. When I arrived for my appointment, imagine my surprise when they refused to put the tires on my car. I had to load the tires back into my car, set up an appointment at a dealership, and have THEM install the tires at twice the estimated cost of TireBuyer, which defeated the entire purpose of using TireBuyer and having my tires shipped directly to Mr. Tire. To add insult to injury, the employees at Mr. Tire were surly and just plain rude. They were not helpful whatsoever and wouldn't even attempt to put them on my car, saying I needed a special tool, when in reality they did not (many Mercedes models DO require a special tool but my particular make and model DOES NOT). The Mercedes dealership I called even offered to speak with the employees at Mr. Tire to explain this to them (the dealership was familiar with my tires as they had just changed a flat on my car the week before). Amazingly, the employees at Mr. Tire REFUSED to speak to the dealership on the phone! Unbelievable! It was a huge hassle and needless to say I do NOT recommend Mr. Tire in Chesterland for installing your tires. There are many other places you can go to have your tires installed - save yourself the time and hassle and go somewhere else. read more

I have had the guys at Chesterland Mr. tire service my vehicles 4 times so far, I always leave satisfied. I've had a full set of tires mounted on both my car and pickup truck, they do a quality job as they have always stayed sealed and I never experience any rim leaks or valve stem leaks. I needed to have a valve stem I damaged myself replaced on my truck and they took me in with no appointment and had it done in 20-30 minutes, only cost 20 bucks! I will continue to bring my vehicles here, no complaints. read more

Like one of the other reviewers, I would give this place a zero if I could. I have been a customer of Mr. Tire in Chesterland for years, but today it ended. I made an appointment that was over a week out for about $1500 worth of work. I got it there today. Was told that the tires that I ordered last week were never ordered, so I had no snow tires to put on my car. I questioned the labor on two of the items of work to be done and was told that there would be labor for both items, even though you have to take one off to get to the other one and you essentially do both pieces at the same time. The guy finally said that he could discount the labor, then I get a call that there is a part that needs to be added that wasn't on the estimate. Coincidentally, approximately the same cost as the labor that I said I wouldn't pay for. Then the major reason that I had the car in was the Blower Motor which again they knew about a week ago and now they are telling me that they need special tools to do the work and I would be better off taking it somewhere else. The temperatures are in the single digits here and I have no heat in my car. They could have told me a week ago that they didn't want to work on it and I could have found someplace else to fix my heat. I picked up my car without any work being done. I will not be going back to Mr. Tire in Chesterland again. read more
