The reason I used Mr. Tires this year is because I have an awesome experience from this organization in Owings Mills, Maryland years ago. However, my experience with the Fredrickburg, Virginia location has been awful. I dropped off my car in the early morning of Saturday, February 3rd. I financed 4 brand new tires from Mr. Tires. I was very agitated about the services this particular day. Not only did I want new tires, I needed them to find out the source why my coolant was leaking which the manager forgot about that part. It took extremely long for the process of financing my tires through easy pay although I received an approval. The manager told me they didn't accept it any more. Long story short, the tires was successfully financed through easy pay finance. They didn't check the source of the coolant leak because he didn't have time. I am currently paying on the tires. On Sunday, April 7, I ended up with a flat tire on the side of an highway. Since I purchase the tires literally a month ago, I figured there was a warranty on the tire. I drove my car on the spare tire to Mr. Tires on the morning of Monday, April 8th hoping that the tire will be switched out with no problems. The tire is damaged. Mr. Tires agree to replace the tire free of charge BUT I have to come out of my pocket for an additional $87.54 for Mr. Tires to put the tire on my car and warranty on the new tire. REMIND you I am still paying on the first set of tires to include the damage one from February. The tire was not in stock and per the store the tire will be available on Thursday, April 11th. So, they put the spare tire back on my car, I literally have to drive around with a spare for few days back and forth to work when my drive is 30 minutes a day. I don't feel I should have to pay $87.54 fee for putting on tire and warranty especially when the warranty really didn't apply for February 3rd date. read more

HORRIBLE experience. Took my Ram Truck for tire installation and balancing. Older man called GEORGE MOERMAN (who is supposed to be the manager) who was in a bad mood and told me to drop it off and leave because it would take him too long to do it. I told him I would wait. I waited only an hour and a half. I took it home and while on the highway I hit 65 and the truck started shaking UNCONTROLLABLY like the tires would come off (see video attached). I went behind a semi truck and drove real slow all the way home. I took it back the next day and told the Older man (George Moerman) who was AGAIN in a bad mood , what had happened and if he could check the balancing, and he said "WELL I DID THE BALANCING YOU COULD HAVE BEEN SPEEDING OR POPPING A WHEELIE FOR ALL I KNOW." Yeah, a wheelie on my RAM truck 2500? He was SO RUDE and looked like he did NOT want to be there working. So I took my truck somewhere else to get it checked, turns out THE MAN HAD NEVER DONE THE BALANCING. So HE LIED. I had to PAY AGAIN for the new place to balance my tires. I will NEVER come back here to Mr. Tire I could have had an accident. This older man NEEDS TO RETIRE if he HATES his job. He is supposed to be a MANAGER but does not treat his customers well. We PAID to get this work done and HE DID NOT EVEN DO IT and also gave HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I want my MONEY BACK THAT I PAID FOR THE BALANCING THAT WAS NOT DONE. One of my tires developed an issue and I brought my vehicle back to Mr Tire. The tire had been purchased from them a couple years prior and they were quick to recognize a manufacturing issue with the tire, replaced it under warranty and did so quickly. Brought car in for an oil change which was done. Relatively decent price, however Mr. Tire took it upon themselves to give my car a full diagnostic check over and found all these things that were wrong, such as a major oil leak in the engine, severely cracked lateral arm bushings, Front engine mount loose, wheel alignment and balance issue, shocks going bad etc. I felt no such issues driving the car, so took it to a mechanic that I 'absolutely trust' and he said there's very minor to zero wear and tear on any of the things that they mentioned. My mechanic said my car is 186,000 miles old and it's going to have minor cracks in the bushings there's no major oil leak anywhere just standard oil around the engine that every car that age has, the engine mount is perfectly fine and tight, no wheel alignment issues needed as the Tire wear is perfectly fine, and the shocks are in great condition. So for $60 oil change, Mr. tire wanted to 'take my wallet for a ride' and do an additional $3500 worth of unnecessary repairs that were not needed! Beware of this location!!! I believe James Nguyen was the front desk shyster that lied to me. The tech was J. Burley. I'll never go there again for even an oil change! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My son took our car here on Saturday, August 4th. He had already purchased new brake pads for the right rear tire and just needed them installed. We had the left one replaced prior, and it took about 30-ish minutes (somewhere else). We also had gotten an estimate from another company in the last couple days that was $103 in labor to do BOTH of the rear brake pad sets. That place wouldn't do just one (their company policy they said), and we didn't need both which is why we wound up at Mr. Tire instead. I sent my son up with $60 anticipating 30-45 minutes worth of work, maybe $75 max. He was checked in at 1:11pm. At 2:20, he told me that an employee informed him the car had JUST been taken back. At about 2:40, he told me what the estimate amount was - $120. I told him to ask someone why the estimate was that high. He didn't reply and no one answered the phone when I called the place directly, so I got in my car and went over with my credit card. Because my daughter needed a car to drive to work, I sent my son home in my car while I stayed to deal with this. I asked about their charge, politely. I explained why I expected it wouldn't be so much, based on the other places we'd inquired and he then told me that I was *lucky* they were only charging me for an hour as my car had been in the back being worked on for "several hours." I showed him the paperwork showing my son got there at 1:11pm. It couldn't have been back there for "several hours." This is when he got defensive and started to be a jerk, uncomfortably caught in a lie. When I pointed out that my son was told at 2:20 that it had just been started, he told me it had been up on the lift since he got to work "hours ago," sticking to his position that they'd been working on it the whole time. It was about 3:25 at this point, so I asked if the job was complete. This is when he told me that they had JUST finally gotten it all apart, as the computer that releases the electronic parking brake wasn't "cooperating with my car" and they'd had trouble getting it all apart. An hour, in real time, just to take it apart ("several" hours according to him). That's when I told him to go back there and tell them to STOP. The whole job should have been done by then, and it scared me to hear that they'd been working on it for so long and had "just finally gotten the thing apart." With the computer releasing the electronic parking brake, it doesn't take long to get it apart. The assistant manager got VERY flustered at that point, and said he was going to have to charge me the $120 anyway, as they'd already spent "way more than an hour" working on my car, they were pretty much ready to put on the new pads, was I sure? Asked me twice. YES, I said put it back together and bring my car around and told him I was paying under protest and I would take it somewhere else to be done. It took another 45 MINUTES for them to get it back together, and now every few minutes this guy came back into the room to tell me why it was taking so long. First he said that they'd pulled the piston all the way out. Then he told me the caliper was likely bad. He came in at least 3 times with reasons they could't get it done, each time making comments about how "if you have a bad part, you just have a bad part." I finally got the car back and left. All the way home, I could hear a ticking noise coming from the tires. We now have a nail AND a screw in that tire, nice and deep, that weren't there that morning. Today (8/8) I was able to take the day off and took it to another shop. They took the tire off, then came and got me so they could show me why they weren't even willing to try to change out the brake pads. On top of the tire/screw, Mr. Tire's employees managed to pull the piston all the way out and tear up the caliper boot. The caliper and the caliper boot/piston will now need to be replaced before the car is going to be able to have the pads replaced. Before the "work" at Mr. Tire, there was no damage to anything and no nail or screw in the tire. Mr. Tire, themselves, didn't come say "oh, this boot is torn and the caliper piston is out, so you need a whole repair here." He wanted to finish it so he could avoid disclosing the damage they did, hoping I'd not find out about it until the torn caliper boot leaked and the whole thing failed. It's why he got so flustered when I said NO, I'll take it somewhere else. Then while they struggled to put it back together, the thing suddenly had vague issues. The only people who've TOUCHED that right rear wheel brake assembly is Mr. Tire. I'm giving their company a chance to correct the issue and fix what they damaged, and if they DO that I will update my review. read more

On February 9, 2020, I went into this shop to inquire whether or not they perform state inspection, as well as emissions. There was an Asian guy at the front desk. Right off the bat, that guy sounded like a prick, very abrasive, as if I was bothering him, talking real fast, cutting sentences, using mainly subject & object... i.e., "Yes, inspection; no emissions." I then asked if he was aware of any other local shops that performed emissions testing. His quick & choppy response was, "Shop down 17 across Geico. Go up on 17, on right side from Geico." No interpersonal skills whatsoever; or maybe he's just a complete prick. I'm Asian, too ... I guess he thought his type of Asian was too good to deal with my type of Adian. Our family woke up this morning prepared to take a trip out of town. Unfortunately, our back rear tire was completely flat. We had to wait until 7 for the closest stores to open. James answers the phone promptly at 7am and assured us he could help. As my husband arrived at the store, James met him in the parking lot; he rolled the tire to the shop and within 10 minutes he diagnosed and fixed our tire. James wouldn't accept money for the work or small part used to fix our valve stem. Instead, he just insisted our family go and enjoy our trip and he "would be here when we get back." Dropped my truck off for an oil change, state inspection, and emissions inspection. Mark L called (at least I assume it was Mark L, it's the card I got when I paid before leaving) several hours later to let me know everything was good with the inspection except for 4 lights, half of which I knew about. After that my truck was ready to be picked up very shortly. Customer service was very good, my car was in great condition when I got it back, and I definitely recommend. I cannot comment on the emissions inspection as their inspector was out sick today, but I will be back for that very soon. Plus that it's right around the corner from my apartment. read more

I learned after getting an oil change at another business that I needed to get 4 more tires (2 minimum but I knew that with all the driving I do that 4 would be a good investment)...and soon. Like, one of your tires is gonna blow if you don't replace it soon. Needless to say I was a bit under the gun and after doing a little research found that Mr. Tire may have the deal I needed. Lukas helped me over the phone, checked out my tires, reconfirmed that I was in trouble and gave me a great deal. When they only had 2 of the the original tires he recommended he suggested a similar set that had great reviews. With all the help both over the phone and in person I felt like this company just wanted me to get the best product for as possible for my needs. The extras were suggested but not forced and I also found out I needed to get a re-alignment (I do a LOT of driving) but they understood that it wasn't in my budget at the moment. The Mr Tire located on route 17 installed a right front tire on my sons truck in January. While driving home mid March the right front tire that they installed came off the truck while driving. My son called the Mr tire that installed the tire, and they transferred him to their insurance company. The insurance person came out and said it didn't look like the vehicle hit anything, and would be in touch no later than Monday. No response from the insurance person after several phone calls. My son called the location that installed the tire that came off, the person said they probably won't cover the problem, and hung the phone up. I would recommend taking your vehicle anywhere but here. I myself have been there and witnessed the so called manager acting very unprofessional with a customer. I would rather over pay the dealer before putting up with this level of unprofessionalism. Save yourself the headache and take your vehicle to someone with experience working on vehicle's and experience dealing with customers in a professional manor. read more

Leaving myself and two other customers. My car was dropped of at 9ish and I waited only to find out they had the wrong brakes and had to reordered my brakes. Fredericksburg Consumer Alert: I would recommend you avoid the Mr. Tire store located at 50 Sebring Drive, Fredericksburg, VA (Stafford County). I have used them before and been very satisfied however, the management has changed and apparently so has the ethical nature of their business practices. Here's what happened. My daughter went to have her vehicle inspected and it was rejected due to the fog lights not working. The vehicle in question is a Jeep Liberty and what we subsequently discovered is the vehicle is a model that did not come with fog lights and at some point, prior to our ownership, due to front end damage, the grill was replaced with one that had fog lights. Problem is now is they are on the vehicle and don't work. The rejection was legit and I'm good with that even in spite of the fact that another local shop had passed it the previous year. They offered up an "estimate" to repair it. This is where things took a wrong turn. They "discovered" the turn signal switch was not the one for fog lights, it didn't have the switch to turn them on (should have been a clue) and so they gave her an "estimate" to have it replaced. My question to them today was... What would you have done once you replaced the switch and they still didn't work because there was no harness for them? They couldn't answer this and became very defensive. I'll spare you the details of the resulting banter. Bottom line is this: The manger, Noah Sadr claimed they have no responsibility to diagnose the problem for a state inspection, I agree. They do however have a responsibility to diagnose a problem for which they are offering an "estimate" to repair. I use quotations because, I don't think an "estimate" is what they provide, it's more like a "guesstimate". I also realize that sometimes after you get into a job, you'll find other stuff however in this case, they did not do a thorough job of diagnosing the problem before they gave an "estimate". They would no doubt have installed the switch, realized it didn't work and then realized there was no harness because the vehicle was never equipped with fog lights and then sold us one of those too. Be informed when dealing with mechanics shops. The documentaries you see on the news about females being taken advantage of by mechanical repair facilities is real. They are plenty of great and reputable ones out there, Mr. Tire at 50 Sebring Drive in Fredericksburg, VA is not one of them! You have been warned and informed. I waited 2 hours for the oil change that I made an appointment for. When they were finally done, they didn't replace the "next service date" sticker and I was charged double the advertised price. If I wanted to be scammed and disappointed I would have just gone to jiffy lube. They at least get it done in a timely fashion. read more

Don't go to Mr. Tire. Had a $19.95 coupon for an oil change. They told me it would be $5 more for an extra half quart. A lityle steep for half quart, but I said that was fine. They took the car in the back and after they drained the oil the service manager ( Tommie Earl), says that my car requires synthetic oil. I said no way, the car is eight years old and has nearly 200,000 miles. I can put whatever oil I want in it. He was adamant and said that he would not put in regular oil. I told him he can put the old oil back. He told me he would not and to get a tow truck so I can have it towed out of his shop. Talk about no customer service. I told him you do whatever you need to do, but I'm not going to pay any more. It now would be about a $40 - $50 oil change when it started off as $19.95 I mention to him that I've had the vehicle at this same location before for an oil change, plus I've had the vehicle to the dealership many times for oil changes and no one throughout 200,000 miles has said you MUST use synthetic oil. I told him, to do whatever he wanted to, but I'll make sure I post something on social media. They had an opportunity to tell me that this is what they do when they wrote the service order, and when they took the vehicle into the service Bay. But no, they waited until they drained the oil. He said whoa, wait a minute, I don't want you to slander my name, I'll go ahead and do it (put in the regular oil), so all of a sudden he could do it. Buyer beware, last time there. read more

Went in for an oil change and it was suggested that I get my after market oil plug changed. You FAILED to mention that your guy broke it. 3 months later went to get oil changed at other location and they refused to touch it. The guy said, "we dont work behind that location". Im like, "Huh, I have always used Mr. Tire to change my oil". Took it back and the NEW shop manager, because he had only been there for 2 months, couldn't do anything. Not to mention that they broke the window button, and now I can roll down my passenger window unless on that side. That he said he would replace, but I havnt heard anything from them. If this was the last place in f'burg to get a car fixed I think I would rather walk. This shop has changed hands three times since it was built and every time the professionalism has slipped more and more. They are anything but honest and there are several more shops within easy walking distance that are much more affordable. A few months ago I needed new tires for my truck. As any consumer does I shopped around on the internet and found the tires I wanted on their national web site which showed in stock. Mind you it was a common tire nothing special. After completing the on line form I received a message that someone from the local store would contact me. 2 days later with no call I reached out to them. I gave them the information about the tires I wanted. I finally received a call from one of the counter guys telling me that he couldn't find the tires anywhere. I explained to him on their very own web site they showed in stock! He told me that the web site will usually show tires in stock but each shop had to locate the tires themselves. Not a great business model in my opinion. Last week my wife went in for a VA State Inspection. They said her wipers were bad and tried to charge her $50.00 for a set of new ones. She told them she wasn't going to pay that much as several of the stores close by were much cheaper. The blades on the vehicle were fine. No tears or rips at all. They agreed to drop the price by $5 - $10 but then charged her the full amount! When she brought this to his attention he just sort of shrugged. We still haven't received the refund. I've been going to Mr. Tire for years when we moved to Stafford and the guys up front were so helpful and honest. It was my go to place, HOWEVER new management has stepped in and no one is the same. Took my truck to be inspected in February and they failed me on foggy headlights and tried to sell me a "cleaning" package at $100. Thought that was odd so I took it elsewhere and it passed no problem! Mechanic there told me he wouldn't of failed those headlights even in strict conditions. Smh. Terrible service!! Wish I could give negative stars. For a number of years, I have enjoyed the friendly demeanor and service at this Mr. Tire location opposed to other places. There is a relatively new manager there now and the service and attitude has changed. After this morning, I will never give Mr. Tire another cent. Today, my wife and I took time away from work to drop off a vehicle for an oil change. Noah, the manager, did greet me and asked if I wanted my tires rotate with the oil change. I explained that I would not be interested because last time they refused to rotate them due to swollen lug nuts. Noah then snipped back with, "well did you replace the lug nuts yet"? I told him I don't plan to and that I don't want to discuss it. Instead of finding a solution, offering to take a look at the lug nuts or crediting my account with a tire rotation, he continued on by saying, "well if you don't want me to explain it to you then fine". Noah proceeded to print out an invoice for the more expensive oil change which included "free" tire rotation, $99. When I requested he change the oil service to the $55, lower mileage service, which did not have the "free" tire rotation, his demeanor worsened. I also produced a $20 off total coupon, to which Noah responded, "I wish you would have given it to me before I printed". He then went on to explain that the "free" tire rotation is not something I had to pay for but was included in the oil change. I explained, last time I was told the sockets wouldn't fit the lug nuts however there was some marks on them from a socket and once I got home my socket fit them, except for a few, just fine. Noah stated, "you don't even know what you are talking about. You want to make these comments and not want to hear what I have to say. I don't want your business." I stated again that I would be interested in only the oil change but after this I would not be giving him anymore of my business. He refused service and I will be gladly going elsewhere. Beware!!! we took my car for an alignment and they supposedly did the alignment but could not provide the supporting documentation with the alignment readings, and the excuse was "broke the bolt on one of the machine heads". If the machine sensor was broken, how was the alignment even done? The steering wheel is not even centered. They did not come across as honest, and this practice is not a way to keep customers. Now we will be going to another business to have the alignment checked to see if the work was even done. More to come. read more

Appointment system online is easy to navigate and get an appointment. They also call you the next day to confirm the appointment. I had a flat tire and was using a spare so my appointment was to get the flat patched and reinstalled on my car. I showed up 5 minutes prior to my appointment time and they took my car into the shop almost immediately. So far so good. BUT now for the not so good. Despite having a confirmed appointment and arriving 5 minutes early, it took 1 hour and 20 minutes to do the basic tire patch and get the tire on my car. This is the reason for my initial rating intent of 1 star. Mr. Tire earned 2 more stars by taking care of the service at no cost to me. I think they naturally realized it took far too long. They were very friendly and I saw signs on display (I had plenty of time to look at them--ha ha) saying they guarantee they can match any other tire sale deals so I will still consider them for future business. read more

I have been here on three occasions. Tires twice, and brakes. They are ok. I made a morning appointment for brakes and when I got there they didn't have the parts. Waited a hour for parts and two hours for installation. I ordered two tires and prepayed. Arrived and was told they ordered four. Its small things that add up and make great or poor service.
