Multiple issues at this store. On Wednesday, June 10th, took my wife's car in to see if a nail in her tire could be repaired. Left the car with them after dropping it off with their manager, Ray. Received a call from Ivy later in the day, she said it was repaired and ready to pick up. Went in to pick it up, paid, walked out to the car and the nail was still in the tire. Went back in and the manager told her he said it wasn't repairable. He got me a refund. We then ordered tires, Continentals with an 80,000 mile warranty, excellent ratings for wet/snow traction, and was told to bring the car back on Thursday morning for installation. Was told it would include free alignment, a $110 rebate, and a free oil change. We advised him not to do the oil change as one was just completed on the car very recently. He said he would note that and we could use the free oil change at a later date. On Thursday, June 11th, dropped the car off to Ivy at the shop. She couldn't find the tire order. Called her manager who placed the order, he advised where it was located and she found it. Left the car there at approximately 10am. Received a call later in the day around 3:30 or so and told to pick up the car. Went in to pay, the bill was lower than quoted, handed Ivy the money and she then told me they put completely different tires on the car, Coopers that had the same 80,000 mile warranty and similarly or better we/snow traction. She handed me the receipt and then also said the oil change was completed. At that point I looked at the receipt and saw the Coopers only had a 65,000 mile warranty. I asked her why we were never contacted about the different tires, she said she could not explain. I asked her about why they did the oil change after explicitly saying not to. She could not explain. She said she would call her manager to get this resolved and to just drive on the tires until they get the right ones in. She said she would call us later to let us know what the next steps would be. She never called us. On Friday, June 12th, I drove back out there and talked with the manager, Ray. He was advised of everything that happened. He explained that the wrong size Continental tires were ordered. I advised I was upset over never being contacted and approval never being given for the Coopers to be put on. I advised that after researching the tire model put on, it is a mid tier/budget option with wet/snow ratings below the tires we wanted along with it being only a 65,000 mile tire. He said the only place he can get the Continentals from is Tirerack.com and it will take longer to get them. He said they cost more as well. I advised that at this point I am not paying anything more than I already have due to 2 unauthorized services being done to my wife's car and multiple days of having to use up my time and us being without our vehicle, once they got the tires in it will be day 4 of being inconvenienced. He said he would have to contact his district manager to get approval for this. I advised I just wanted this resolved in an appropriate way. He apologized and said he would call me back later in the day and let me know how this would be handled. We never received a call back. It's now Monday and I had to call Mr. Tire myself. Ivy took the call shortly before 10am. She said Ray was not there but would be back soon. Still waiting for a call back. Be cautious with who you take your vehicle to. Update: July 7th of 2026: Had to get corporate involved and they resolved the problem by having the correct tires put on at a different location (Tire Choice in Norwalk, Ohio). Mr. Tire in Sandusky did not once reach out or try to call us back to resolve what should have been a simple fix. I will never go back to that store. I took my car into Mr. Tire on Milan Road in Sandusky on a Sunday morning. I had a leaking tire and needed to head out of town that afternoon. They got me in quickly, found the hole, and patched it. There was one person ahead of me, and even with that I was on my way in about an hour. The desk person and mechanic were both friendly and professional. They're a real blessing, and I'd highly recommend Mr. Tire. read more

I was traveling and had a slow leak. I popped in 30 minutes before closing and they took my car right in. I was out the door with a new tire quickly! The shop was extremely clean, bathroom included. Folks were very accommodating and polite. read more

Went in for an oil change on a Wednesday morning that I had scheduled the previous Monday. He said it should take 30-60 minutes, so I walked over to the mall. Imagine my surprise when I return well after an hour and it is not done. I assumed something had taken longer than expected, so I asked the manager what was going on. He proceeds to tell me that he had a mechanic quit over the weekend and simply did not have anyone to work on my vehicle. He never bothered to change the available slots for the day or to communicate that times were running long. Now I am worried that my vehicle was not properly done because he told the remaining staff to "hurry." I will now be taking my car somewhere else to have it looked over and make sure it was done correctly. I feel like I just went to a quick stop oil change instead of a company I have been going to for years. Long story short, go somewhere else or you will wish you had. read more

Terrible communication and service. Got a text for an appointment for Sunday, then they say they haven't been open Sunday for months despite what their door and website say. I'm told repeatedly they'll "look at it tomorrow" for 3 days. I lost work for their slow service. Disorganized and don't have customer service as a priority. Took my business elsewhere. read more

Beware. Scam artist practices. Took a 2022 Honda civic in for tire work. Decided while it was in to get a ridiculously over priced oil change. Vehicle had a fast 22k on it with only 2 oil changes. Was called in to shop and told that someone had put washer fluid in coolant reservoir and that coolant was only testing to 0. Offered to flush for $156. Took vehicle to a real shop and they confirmed that this was bogus. Coolant is blue like Honda uses but tests perfectly fine to -40. This is a typical scam that so many people fall for. Have had similar scammy issue before with this location and remembered why I I go to the Amherst location instead. Whoever owns/runs this Sandusky spot must be an unethical business owner. In Sandusky Ohio, Mr. Tire employee never gave me a sticker for my oil change or reset my sensor at my appointment. When my car began to ding a month later for not having oil life, I stop by the shop in which I was meet with rude customer service, made to feel as if in somehow it was my fault. Never given an apology or took any accountability. When I was asked for proof that the oil was changed, the staff acted as if my request was absurd, and disbelief I didn't just take their word for it. I've been a long-time customer, always loved the service I got; however, they really showed me today how they really want to treat me all along. read more

After an 80 minute wait,BOB tellds me they refuse to put on 2 of my tires because they are worn out. When I point out that the tread is not to the indicators, the story changes and they say there is too much "discrepancy" between front and rear. They want to sell tires, but my car decisions should be up to me! read more

I sure wish I would have read the reviews before I took my car here. Charles Kleinhause, the manager is definitely a scam artist. I was told to bring my own parts and they would charge me for labor only. After being there for 2 hours he comes out to me with an estimate (I did NOT ask for) for parts that I wasn't requesting for 9,145.19. I almost fainted. I brought in a resonator and a flex pipe. They tried to charge me 2,602.71 for the WHOLE muffler system and Firestone already told me what I needed. (firestone doesn't do welding) I would have preferred them. After my fit, and them being rude and saying to me that I could just plug away at the problems. I told them I had the parts I needed. Just fix what I ask. So, they charged me 564.00 to put these 2 pieces on. I was there another 3 hours. I watched my mechanic work the front counter, take his break all in the 3 hours that I paid him to put a resonator on. This place is a joke!!!!!!!!! Trust me when I say, any place is better!! So my wife and I are 2200 miles into a 2700 mile road trip when the tire pressure indicator says we have a problem. Not surprising with all of the construction zones we went through in PA. The good news was the leak was very slow and I had an air compressor that got us the needed 200 miles to our destination for that day, Friday September 18th. Saturday morning I get up with the friend we are visiting (a native to Sandusky) and head out to Mr. Tire for their diagnosis. After giving enough information to file my tax return, I was given an estimate of around $29 if it could be repaired. After 20 minutes, I was given the bad news that there was a piece of metal in the tire and shown the damage...unfortunately, I was told it could not be repaired as the whole was too big and I needed a new tire. They did not have one but, could order one and have it for me by Tuesday. We'll that wasn't going to work, needing to be back in Chicago by Saturday or Sunday. The gentleman was cordial but, insisted it was not reparable. I made the decision to just move on, as I felt I could make it back to Chicago with an occasional stop to add air, which is what we did. Sunday morning, back in Chicago, I go to my local tire repair shop, Clark Tire Service. With one look they say they can repair it, I don't need a new tire, fix it in 10 minutes, all for $15.00. C'mon Mr. Tire, you'll get much more loyalty and customer allegiance without the up-sell that auto repair shops have a reputation for. Had my car towed there for a flat tire this morning around 9 by 10:30 they called and my car was finished. They patched up my tire and also checked for alignment that another service dept said I desperately needed. Great customer service, friendly and very affordable. I'll definitely be calling them for future service needs read more

Been to Mr. Tire once and it was"Ladys Day" which to them must mean sucker! Got an oil change with a "free" tire rotation. My daddy didn't raise no idiot so I marked my tires with lipstick. I come back in a couple hours later and asked the sales clerk if my tires had been rotated with him stating yes. Needless to say my lipstick was on all the same tires and had never been touched! I than proceed to confront the clerk and tell him my tires where not rotated. He responded with saying "how do you know?" I then explained my lipstick trick. And he stated "oh they didn't need it." I had a lease so it was required every so oil change! I asked him why he lied with no response. I than asked to speak with the manager. Come to find out I was speaking with the manager. I then asked for corporates phone number, which he did not know nor did he know how to find out. I then proceeded to go home look online and call corporate. They apologized and sent me a coupon for free oil changes at another automotive shop which they must also own. I threw away the coupons and will just deal with my dealership in the future. Always have great service here in Sandusky! The managers go out of their way to help work around my schedule! I even had the store manager, Adam, offer to personally drive me back to work while my vehicle was being serviced! I took my vehicle there last month to get an oil change. I told the adviser not to try and sell me on anything because I already know that I will need brakes soon. To my surprise he comes back out a few minutes later and tries to sell me on brakes pads and rotors! I have no problem with giving me an estimate but I do not appreciate the pressure sale. He also tells me that my ball joints appear to be loose. I informed him that I had those replaced about 6 months ago. I admit I was a bit rude because these types of practices are the type that give repair shops a bad name. Anyway, about 2 weeks later I take my car to another repair place and they tell me that not only do the rotors and pads need to be replaced but the calipers are seized. They also show me 3 of my lug nuts that are so badly damaged that they can't be put back on. The vehicle only has 90k on it and has had the wheels off less than 20 times. Funny how this issue was only noticed after it was at Mr. Tire and was not pointed out to me even after suggesting the unnecessary ball joint repair. In the back of my mind I find this to be quite the coincidence. Fortunately, I was able to take my vehicle to a third shop who was able to exceed my expectations. read more
