I googled auto service nearby and called D&A and spoke to Dave who was very pleasant and told me my options. He sent over Sandusky towing who were also fabulous and they were able to jump the car so I can get over to D&A. I think we got to D&A late in the afternoon, maybe 3:30. We drop off the car, and he gives us a loaner at no charge. He calls me at 4:15 to tell me our car needs a new battery and they can get done by 5 which is when they close. The total experience was just amazing.

While en route to Cedar Point from Columbus with an SUV full of kids, I started to experience car trouble. My daughter googled auto repair shops near us as the handling of my SUV began to decline rapidly and I slowed down and drove with my hazards on. By the grace of God, we were only 5 minutes from Tom's Auto Repair! As I pulled into their parking lot, Daniel came out from the garage right away to make sure we were okay as he noticed the flashers on. I explained to him what I was experiencing and after emptying my vehicle of restless kids, the team had it up on a lift in no time and quickly diagnosed the issue(s). They said I was lucky that I stopped, as with the state of my wheel bearing and front bushing, we might not have even made it the next 30 minutes to the park. Daniel didn't have the specific part I needed, but called around to other local shops to see if anyone had it on hand. With none found nearby, he and Alexis helped me problem solve from that point on. I called AAA to tow my SUV to a repair shop back home, and Daniel was already on the phone with local taxi services to to help us a way to Cedar Point, without me even asking. Alexis then called Fleet One for a rental and a Ford Explorer was delivered to the auto shop in less than 15 minutes! The tow truck came quickly as well, and Daniel provided a written analysis of the issue and parts needed to pass along to my local shop. What's even more impressive, is that he refused to collect a dime for his and his team's time, diagnosis, and help. They even cleaned up a wound and provided a bandaid for one of my son's friends who was with us! I was in tears by the time I left, grateful for the good people that God placed us close to at a time of need. I highly recommend Tom's Auto Repair to anyone in the Norwalk area and will always be a fan! Thanks again for saving my son's 13th birthday and keeping us safe, Daniel & team. I don't personally know these people at all, but I have used them twice in the last year for big repairs, one on a 2009 Mercedes and another on a 2009 VW Touareg. Then proceeded to lie and say it only tested to 0 degrees. Wanted $156 to flush. I smelled the BS a mile away and had them fix the tire and ran. Tool the car to smiths and they called to say that there's nothing wrong, tests to -40, and the coolant is blue because Honda uses blue coolant. No charge. They easily could have flushed it as I had asked but they went above and beyond and actually consulted instead of scammed/deceive like the big outfits do. A friend recommended I have the boat towed here for repair. Maag's did the repair and WAY overcharged me for parts by about at least $400. I had my trailer serviced this spring on the eastside of Cleveland, they did a great job cleaning the spindels and repacking the bearings so there should have been no issue for the entire season. After trailer the boat 7 times this year (approx 900 miles) this season, both sets of bearings (inner and outer) failed on the driver side this week and I was broke down, JUST LIKE WHAT I WAS TRYING TO PREVENT. I have never seen inner bearing fail on a trailer before. I got the trailer fixed and while driving it home from the parking lot I repaired it at, I realized the passenger bearings were also bad. Cheap parts, over-priced service. The friend who recommended Maag's to me will no longer be using this service. When I called today to complain about this. The owner hung up the phone on me. Great customer service. I think that says it all.......

Full disclosure - I think the problem started when he confused me with my sister-in-law, who's name…read moreis also Tiffany LaCourse. She's had some issues with him recently and I don't think he realizes we are two different people. That having been said - my son was in an accident last month (June 7th 2025) and Walt's Towing ended up towing his car. When I picked my son up from the scene, they weren't sure what tow company would take the car, so the sheriff gave me his card with the report number on it and said the tow company would get in touch with me. No one ever called me, and I was completely slammed between work, my boys' baseball schedules, my mom's doctors appointments, and everything else going on. I talked to my insurance company (State Farm) immediately after the accident, filed a claim, and they said they would make sure the car was at a facility that didn't charge storage and if it wasn't - they'd have it moved somewhere that wouldn't charge for storage. I assumed since I never heard anything more from my insurance or the towing company - that there was nothing to worry about. Weeks after the accident - on Friday, June 21 2025 - Walt and his girlfriend showed up at my house at close to 8pm when my husband and I were in Ashland at a baseball tournament and he scared my elderly mom and my 9 year old son. He gave my mom a copy of the police report with a POST IT NOTE attached with a price of $1,398.13 handwritten on it (see attached photo) and said he needs to be paid ASAP and I need to get my car. That is NOT an invoice - let alone itemized. I still to this day have not received an invoice. I called the police on him that night and made a report. I've tried to reach him and so has my cousin Richard (who tows vehicles) numerous times to get the car - so the storage fees would stop - and he hasn't answered or reached back out to either of us. Now this weekend - July 19 2025 - I got served with small claims court papers. He's taking me to court for almost $2400! And he still has my son's car and has still has never returned any calls to this day! I fully intend to file with the BBB, Ohio Secretary of State, ODOT, and any other authority I can to have this remedied.
