Not bad pho, not great ambiance…read more Came here on a whim. Missus wanted some soup so we went to this place as our date night trek. It's close to a sporting complex, in the same plaza as a larger brewery. Not the easiest to spot, will need the gps to assist. The inside is sparse in decoration but the staff was very friendly. We got the spring rolls, the fried wonton, a pho and a bahn mi. Food came out quick, we took pics then dug in. The wontons had a good pork and scallion filling. They didn't need sauce to taste good, which is a good sign. The spring rolls were okay, crispy but oily and the dipping sauce was weak. The pho was good, meat was tender, noodles were okay, and soup base was chicken broth with spices. The bahn mi was pretty good as well. Pickled veggies were very sweet, the ham was tender enough and the mayo butter was heavy handed. The bread was crusty but soft, not what I consider to be proper bahn mi bread, but good enough. Price was about 45 for the two apps and entrees, which is about average for that style of meal. It's not anything to write home about. I would recommend ordering to go mainly because the dining space is right underneath a wrestling ring and the floor shakes when someone gets body slammed below. But it's good enough pho for that area

I ordered Rare Steak Pho (packed to mix at home), the Van Special Fried Rice, a Steak Banh Mi, fried egg rolls and Natural Rice Wrapper Vegetable and Vermicelli Rolls with Spicy Peanut Sauce Dip. I shared all of this with my family at home. We were very impressed with Pho Van's food. The Pho Broth was awesome, especially considering I assembled the pho a few hours later for dinner. Pho Van is definitely in play as a top Pho spot in CT. We ate the rest of the food 30 minutes later for lunch. The fried rice, with a substantial mix of sausage, shrimp, beef, pork etc., was up there with CT's best fried rice too. Full of stuff and flavor. The Banh Mi and Rolls were also very good. The inside was more functional than nice, but it's definitely fine to eat there. Service was good. I'll definitely return for a dine in experience. 4.5 Stars

I came here with two friends for an early dinner. We ordered:…read more- mapo tofu: my friend got this and said it was excellent and that he had that tingly sensation around his lips while eating. - Hong Kong style wonton soup with roast duck: the broth was very flavorful and the duck had its crispy texture. The wonton were buried under all the other ingredients in the in bowl so by the time I got to them they were falling apart. - pineapple fried rice with Beijing roast duck: my friend orders this and she enjoyed it. I didn't get much feedback from her about it. Our server was very friendly and once she learned we spoke Chinese, she started chatting with us in Mandarin. We had a great time chatting with her. If you're in the area definitely hit this spot up!

The owner, Chris, is so hands on, a wonderful guy, always some welcoming, checking on his guests, just seems to have the pulse of everything going on. The food is still spectacular! We have been going here now for 10 years, whenever we are in Windsor! We just did Christmas and Christmas Eve, after being with the family, and it's just tremendous. Numerous lunch specials (although Belvedere is not really that much of an "eat there" type of place). Recently bought 8 dozen pierogies (as well as other food) for my Polush BIL, Jozef, who lives in Manhattan. He really enjoys, as do I. I also recently had my first Cubano sandwich for lunch. Why did I wait so long? Thin slices of ham, pulled pork, Swiss, sliced pickles and mustard on an oversized hard roll. Absolutely perfect. Highly recommend. 4.5 overstuffed and oversized stars

Greeted warmly, I placed my order for a Polish plate, consisting of Golobki (stuffed cabbage) a generous serving of kielbasa with sauerkraut, and three pierogi. Rye bread was served on the side. I also got a green tea to wash it all down with. All this was around $15 plus the tip. Let me tell you, the reason why I said it was like going to my mother's house was this place is culture at its finest for the Polish heritage I absolutely loved the Kielbasa and sauerkraut, and the pierogi were out of this world and you could tell they were homemade with love. The Golobki was good. If I said it was better than my mother's, there would be hell to pay! Serving containers of spicy mustard for the kielbasa, sour cream for the pierogi, and a beautiful horseradish sauce was for whatever your pleasure. This had a kick and it was amazing. The restaurant is super clean, and decorated with lots of thought. I loved the menu. I thought the many choices were to be ordered on the future times I frequent this place Now I see all the rave this place has, and this could be a regular stop. Thanks again Belvedere of East Windsor for your gracious service and delicious food. You are well deserving of the five stars. Until next time!

Apparently iced tea is a no no to order in the fall or winter in small town Connecticut. I chose their 14oz prime ribeye for what seemed to be a good price of only $40. It comes with the mixed veggies (Broccoli. Carrots. Squash) and potato of the day (homemade mashed potatoes). The steak was a bit chewy and did not seem to be a typical prime cut of beef I am used to getting back in Texas. Maybe prime beef in Connecticut isn't as good quality, who knows. The homemade bread that comes out before the dinner is good but hard. It's also very garlicky. Service was a bit awkward. Our waitress came by halfway through and said she was checking to make sure we were well taken care of...but my tea was almost empty and she just walked off and didn't say she'd refill it. I eventually had to flag her down a few mins later to ask for a refill. At fancy restaurants, they just fill it without you asking. She also messed up my colleagues meal. He asked for no squash and the chef seemed to put extra squash on his plate. She should have remembered that he didn't want squash. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I just expected more from a fancy restaurant. You pay a little more for better food and better service, but we didn't get that here.
