Avoid their ORANGE CHICKEN AND ANYTHING FRIED. Their fried food is just batter and a tiny string of meat. It's such a rip off. Then when you say anything to the young people that work there, they are oblivious and give that deer in the headlights stare. The third item comes in a tiny cup that's 8 ounces. I was hopeful after reading reviews of big portions and great food. Well every Chinese food place has big portions, but this one lacks good food. It's mediocre at best. No flavor fried rice and no flavor cho mien. I ordered king pao chicken and mushroom chicken and had a total of 6 pieces of chicken!!! Not much flavor in the mushroom chicken and the Kung pao chicken wasn't spicy. I tried my wife's orange chicken, it was decent. The best tasting item was the Spicy Wing. The spring roll was mushy on the inside and had no flavor. The cream cheese won ton was pretty good. Oh yeah I almost forgot, the sriracha hot sauce smelled like mildew and tasted sour. I hope I don't get sick!! In closing, there are better places with just as big portions and better sriracha hot sauce. read more

This rating and review is strictly for the EGG FOO YOUNG. I don't see this dish on many menus so I was excited to try some. On the menu it says it comes with steamed rice and your choice of meat. I opted for chicken and it turns out they make the egg foo young and then a chicken entree on top. The egg foo young was HUGE. It filled the entire Styrofoam container. It was loaded with bean sprouts and was made fresh and hot. The chicken on top was pretty good - it was in a nice gravy and included carrots, peas, mushrooms, and water chestnuts. I also received a container of dark brown sauce on the side which was light and delicious. My only issue was that I didn't receive the rice. When I was handed my bag, I assumed it was all in there and left only to get home and realize the container was all egg foo young and chicken and veggies. I wasn't about to drive all the way back so I made my own rice so be sure to check for rice if you order this. I entered the store right at 11AM when they open and it took almost 25 minutes to get my food. It was so good that I wouldn't mind waiting for it in the future. The heat lamped food is hit or miss, just like most Chinese fast food spots. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not so much. I used to get boba from here but this last visit, I noticed there wasn't any. I'm a sucker for some bomb orange chicken and this place delivered! I've read other reviews but it's a hit or miss with any Chinese restaurant honestly, but I was very happy with my food last night. I got orange chicken (of course), Chow Mein and Fried Rice. It was about 7:30 when I came here and the food was fresh. It did not taste like it had been under a heat lamp all day. I must've gotten there before a dinner rush hour because as soon as I got in line about 11 other people followed behind. The portions are large and I was able it spilt it 3 ways. Also a BIG plus for me, the Coke wasn't flat!! Oh man that was a bonus! Who likes flat coke anyways? But ahhh made my tastebuds happy. I'm giving this place 4 stars because the layout sucks. If you plan on eating here, keep your fingers crossed and legs ready to dash for a table. Also they're so busy behind the counter that no one was really wiping down tables. Luckily for me I always carry sanitizer wipes so it wasn't a huge deal. The restaurant is an 'L' shape so there's counter and chairs on the shorter side. Tables outside too but it was freezing so there was no point. Wasn't too pricey either, about 16 bucks for the meal, drink and an extra side of chow mein. They say all good Chinese restaurants have a B rating or lower. This is especially the case with Mr. You Express. They've DEFINITELY had a history of terrible sanitation; just take a look at their restrooms (pre-Covid-19). They say to understand what a restaurant's kitchen is like, just take a look at their restroom. Unfortunately, I did that and ended up feeling nauseous after eating at Mr. You Express's. What's even more appalling nowadays is that their workers have long nails that often protrude into the food (watch out for your soups, friends) and workers who don't wear gloves (perhaps due to their nail-jobs and their possible concern for dry skin). Maybe they need to retake that service worker course that (honestly) is really easy. Although, in retrospect, perhaps it was the ease of this class that let these workers all seem to bypass even the most basic of health principles. Their A-rating is definitely not deserved. They've obviously known when the health inspector will arrive and scrubbed the kitchen and surrounding vicinity viciously and hired false staff to work during that period. Food is ok. Kinda like a Chinese restaurant that saw how well Panda Express is doing and decided to copy their style. Just... not their sanitation. Or their choice in workers. Which then reflects upon their food. If they can't clean their restrooms, how clean will your veggies be? What if there's still those wonderful pesticides that farmers use to maximize crop growth? This could probably be a great research site to study the biological magnification of pesticides and the like. If they can't choose workers that can do something as simple as wear gloves and not dip their long, false nails into your soup, where do you think your beef is coming from? I loathe to admit it, but restaurants like this could be where mad cow disease can spread. I'm not asking for Kobe beef here; I just don't want the workers to dip their fingers in my soup. Maybe wear some gloves when prepping/delivering food. The simple stuff, y'know? Will not be returning. read more

Used to come here before Covid a law in their food used to be spot on and fire. This time I ordered a spicy shrimp chow mein which they usually make in the back hot ready and fresh to order. Pretty good for cheap Chinese food. BBQ pork doesn't taste right to me. Almost like plastic. I love their cream cheese wontons, rice and teriyaki chicken. Watch out... when you order broccoli beef there is virtually no beef in it. I got 2 orders of it in a 3 item combo and there were (4) pieces of questionable looking beef. I also won't make the mistake of coming in during peak dinner hours again. They made me wait at the front of the line for 10 minutes before taking my order because they were so busy doing door dash orders. Who hoo! It's my turn now . They start making my food and then stop in the middle to go make more door dash orders. 5 minutes later they get back to my single meal I ordered and finally finish. Cool... but they stopped again and took another 5min to do some more door dash orders before I started getting irritated and said I have to go. This Chinese food spot is so delicious and certainly different than other competitors. They don't let their food sit around and are constantly cooking up fresh batches. They also offer vegan options which is awesome. They make the best fried tofu with eggplant sauce (custom order) and can also make orange chick'un (tofu). I love this spot. If I write a longer review I'll just be rambling which I already am doing. I'm a fan of the orange chicken here... The yousual (pun) Chinese food, debatable. I saw the advertisement as "gourmet" Chinese food. I thought hmmmm I'll give it a try. Entering the restaurant I saw the usual hot plate Chinese food with the usual cast of cuisine. You know broccoli beef, Orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, etc ... I ordered the 2 entree plate, 1/2 chowmein 1/2 fried rice, broccoli beef, and BBQ (charshu) pork. Their servings are generous. I got the food home and was drooling for some gourmet grub! The plate was FULL and my stomach empty. I first tried the fried rice, bland no kind of flavoring. The chowmein, again bland (again no flavor not even any garlic), the broccoli beef was also bland but the sauce at the bottom to the plate was OK (the broccoli was fresh though), lastly the BBQ (charshu) pork was good. There's a pick up Stix and Panda Express in the vicinity, a better choice. Hope they try to make their food better, I prefer to dine "small" businesses not "chain" restaurants I'll try again, later more than sooner read more
