I hate giving bad reviews but I've been saved by so many honest reviews that I feel I owe it to anyone considering this business. Long story short these guys are extremely unprofessional. They start to get rude and defensive as soon as something goes wrong, probably the company culture because it wasn't just a couple of the staff either and their services are a borderline scam. If you have the patience, the longer version is below. (tldr) We hired this company to take care of the spider problem on our juniper. Their technician came out a couple of days after a heavy rain, without calling/scheduling. He did not know I was home or that we have cameras, I'm guessing, but he walks up to two shrub, neither juniper, looks at them and then walks away. I called the company right away and the lady there said she would talk to him, send him back out in a week and I should pay the current bill. It's net 30 payment terms so something told me I should wait till he came back. A week went by, then two, then three and nothing. I call them back. They say they'll cut the bill in half and send someone out right away. At this point I think I should just pay the amount in good faith (stupid me). Still no one comes out. I call them back. Their argument.. we cut the bill in half. Mine.. but that's still me paying half for no service. I even gave them one more chance (I know, double stupid) more due to the fact that the first issue was never resolved and the next service became due before I could really think about whether they just made an honest mistake. This time I confronted the tech and he admitted he "couldn't" do anything because of the rains blaming California Laws. I completely understand. If you can't/shouldn't treat the trees, don't. No one's asking you to break the law but don't charge me for something you cannot/did not do. He guaranteed he could do the full service this time. After he leaves there are spider webs everywhere. At this point, I'm just tired. I call a new provider who comes the next day and they immediately point out all the spiderwebs. They do the service again (and I pay again) because it was just THAT bad. I find this company very scammy. I would be very careful hiring them plus you have SO many other options. If you are forced to go with them, I recommend being present each time they come for a service to make sure they're actually doing something, if they call you, that is, because mine was unscheduled. And if anything goes wrong be ok with a back and forth on what I'm guessing is the least important thing in your life. After a couple of months with my new provider, I am so annoyed I didn't move sooner. If I think back I had problems from the start with the tech not willing to do the entire property (not even close to half) though I was quoted for it (no revision in price), their either defensive or non responsive attitude and worst, continually charging you for a service they do not provide or provide poorly. It's truly sad because they all seem like great people when all is well and I think they're a small business which I love to support but I can't afford to continually pay for services not received and cannot support a business that is not trustworthy. read more

Have used Mrs. Bugfree for many years. Phil has typically been our technician. My daughter's cat has been with us now for a few weeks, and I noticed after Phil had left that he had emptied and turned upside down the water bowls to ensure that the cat wouldn't drink contaminated water. I recently had this company to my house on a referral from my next door neighbor. I used to have another very well known pest control company that I used to have to my house for yearly maintenance and any other extra spraying that I might need, but their customer service became very lacking. So I tried Mrs. Bugfree and am extremely happy with their work. Their employees are very nice, courteous and answered my questions with no problems. I haven't had any pest problems at all since they serviced the outside of my house and also did some servicing on the inside. There was no odor in the house after they were done which was very important to me. I had to remove my dogs for a few hours but that wasn't a problem. Professional, super-friendly service, always on time--and they give you both a day-before and an hour-before "heads up", to boot. I don't usually write reviews, but I definitely need to give credit when credit is due. I have been using Mrs. Bugfree for 10 years. I had several companies to choose from when I was shopping for a pest control company. I really like to support local businesses/mom and pop stores, so after speaking with them on the phone, I chose Mrs. Bugfree. I couldn't be happier with the service that they have been providing. Whenever I call the office for a problem (usually it's a problem I caused because I forgot they were coming out to spray my property), the office staff is polite, professional and very understanding. They have always accommodated me in rescheduling my service either the same day or within a couple of days. They have never made me feel like It was my fault (even though it was). My service technician, Phil, is worth more than his weight in gold. He has always been friendly, polite and extremely professional. Whenever I have a pest or pesticide question or concern, he takes the time to talk to me about it. He explains pros, cons and educates me (in layman terms) so that I can make the best decision on a treatment choice. Phil also goes above and beyond the call of duty by placing my newspaper on my door handle so that it doesn't get sprayed or if my garbage cans just got emptied while he's there, he will pull them off the street and put them on my driveway. It might not seem like a big deal to you, the reader of this review, but it's those little things that he does that makes a difference and gives me a sense of satisfaction in knowing that I chose the right company 10 years ago. read more

We had ants in our yard, saw a couple in the house. Called Mrs. Bugfree, they were very nice on the phone, had a guy come out and spray outside, he was very informative and nice. Took care of the ants outside. We noticed a couple of ants in the house, called them, and again very nice on the phone. They sent someone out within two days of our call, he sprayed a different type of spray and told us if we see any ants after 3 days to call back and they will need to put a bait out . No charge for the second visit, a very professional business, I will recommend them to friends. read more

We have been using Mrs. Bugfree regularly now for 3 years. They are always on time, and are respectful of our schedules. I like the choices of sprays to be used, and that they call and remind so we can be sure to put the pets in the house (even though we go all natural...just incase). We recently started to have Mrs Bugfree service my 93 year old in-laws home, they had some very bad experiences with another nationwide pest control company. Phil was wonderful! We've used Mrs. Bugfree for maybe 25 years. They've followed us through several moves and we've never been tempted to switch. They get rid of my gophers, ants, spiders and whatever. Never use them again. I used them once in 2013 and they did an ok job but it was a short turnaround and i needed them. I called them again last week and made an appointment for 06/09/2014 between 8-10 am. on the day in which i had an appointment they did not arrive till 9;35 am and upon calling they told me that they had no appointment from me. to make matters worse the lady over the phone was rude and unprofessional. My family has, for the better part of 20 years, used this company, Mrs. Bugfree (MB). MB was very diligent in notifying us of the quarterly date of spraying and advising that any/all pets should be put in the house to allow spraying in the backyard. Because my wife and I both work, we were not able to put the pets in the house, and thus the back yard was not sprayed for years, ie. more than 10.. Although notified that a rescheduled time to do the backyard was sent by MB, again my wife and I were not well-organized and never scheduled the follow up spraying for the backyard. Nonetheless, I paid the full bill each quarter of about $97.00. I recently brought this to the attention of MB advising that, in my opinion, I had been paying for full service ie. $97.00 for treatment of both the front and back yards, when only the front was being treated. I explained this, at length, to "Julie" who advised that she was the/a "Manager." I further explained that felt that MB should credit us for the past overpayments by us, or that we pay a reduced amount in the future for billings under this situation. "Julie" advised, in essence, that since her company notified us of a follow-up rescheduling and we didn't do so, that it was our fault and MB was entitled to the full payments despite the fact that only the front yard was treated. "Julie" dismissed my comment that MB was getting paid some portion of the $97 for work that was not done! She further mentioned that MB was entitled to the full amount given the fact that MB provided a guarantee for the work. [Quite candidly, I couldn't understand this because she said that the backyard would have the 'guarantee" . . . . My response to her was this question: " How does MB 'guarantee' the backyard when it isn't treated?" She did not have an intelligent response. MY OPINION: DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY! I HAVE CANCELLED THIS SERVICE, AND WILL NEVER ALLOW THIS COMPANY TO PROVIDE ANY SERVICES. THE EXPLANATION BY 'JULIE' TO KEEP MONEY FOR SERVICE NOT PROVIDED WAS, IN MY BELIEF, NOTHING SHORT OF DISINGENUOUS! read more

Never, never, NEVER use these people! They were told over and over again that they need a tall ladder to reach the 12 foot ceiling access. They showed up with a 6 foot ladder and wanted to reschedule the appointment for a day when I already told them I would be out of the country. Total waste of time! read more

I've been having these folks spray my mom's property for bugs every other month for the last few years. Recently, it seemed that a mouse or a rat found its way underneath the sink in the kitchen. I called and they were out right away. They set traps under the house, in the sink's cabinet and in the garage. Then they came back to check the traps. My mother is elderly and kind of particular--she LOVES these people. They treat her very well--they are professional, trustworthy and kind. read more

We've used Mrs. Bugfree for years. Should have written this review awhile ago. They've been terrific. We have the choice of what they use for spraying around the exterior of our house - all natural or chemical. We always choose the all natural because we have pets. They've always been very knowledgeable and always seem to go above and beyond what I ask. They've sprayed exterior of house, fence line, driveway cracks, etc, they go cobweb hunting (and cleaning) as well as wasp nest hunting under the eaves. They even recently removed some cobwebs from a couple of ambitious spiders in our lemon tree. And best of all...no bugs anywhere. I highly, highly recommend them. And from what I understand, although I haven't checked in awhile, their prices are cheaper than the big-name companies who serve our area. read more
