DO NOT GO HERE! The lady at the front is SO RUDE with a blank face. She never understands what we say and always looks mad, therefore not making the place so welcoming. We kept ignoring this fact and going back to order food for pick up because the food tasted great for the price it was. Although we found something looking like a bug in the food and we will never be returning again. They denied it instead of trying to accommodate a returning customer. We order some general chicken chicken chow mein and something else. When we came home there was bugs in the food and hair in the chow mein. New to Elk Grove and I thought no Chinese restaurant here could compare to the Chinese food back home in Hawaii! Love this place can't wait to have my family here in February to them take here. Pretty much cheap chinese food you can get that is decent and filling. The chow fun without veggie was made to order and they made sure it was filled out. The peking spareribs was good but sometimes too many bones then meat. I also ordered egg flower soup which was very good as well as lemon chicken and a beef dish that wasn't broccoli. Growing up with a picky Chinese grandma I learned to be real picky with my Chinese food. This place has to be the best is sacramento. It's a small little hole in the wall place but the food is great. Food was good. I love the orange chicken and sweet and sour. Came here randomly with my bf too and we got the dinner/lunch special. It's a good portion to share between the two depending on how much someone eats too LOL but for us it was enough. Our waitress was a cute little Asian lady, so adorable and sweet. When I married my wife, I had to go on a hot and sour soup hunting trip. I am not sure why, but Hot and Sour heaven is just hard to find. But M's has it. Not only that, but their food is amazing, fresh, and not skimpy. The general, tangerine, and sesame chicken is a constant with my family. Probably the only complaint I have is my other vice: potstickers. Good potstickers and potsticker sauce are something you can watch our family go to town on. In fact, when there is only one potsticker left on the table, the stand off scene from the good, the bad, and the ugly, can be seen at our table. Sadly though, M's potsticker's dough is too thick and is often a bit soggy to the center. The sauce however, is amazing and goes right on the perfectly steamed rice. I enjoy the food here, I haven't sat down to eat at the restaurant because I normally order to go but the pick up service has always been great. Now for the details.... The Food: I have ordered a variety of items off of the menu. My favorites are the chow mein, fried rice, and egg rolls. I have had the Mongolian beef, shrimp and snow peas, shrimp and vegetables, spicy string beans and maybe one other dish. Those were ok. Nothing special or something I would say I HAD to get the next time I go. The service: I have always ordered to go as my friend lives very close by and this is just our go-to chinese spot. The food is ready pretty quickly and ordering over the phone is simple enough. However, when making adjustments to the items, they have got it wrong each time. I know now just to order the items as is. Price: Everything on the menu is reasonably priced. Typical for any chinese restaurant. Overall, if i'm on that side of town and going to my friends house, i would order from M's garden. Yes, I have had better chinese food and there are probably other places around that I might like more but this is not a bad option at all. read more

M's Garden is actually a pretty good restaurant if you live around the Calvine and Vintage Park area it's a good place to get your Chinese food fix. Their Lunch specials are very filling and reasonably priced with options to add entrees or fried rice/chow mien at an additional price. I felt that their black bean chow fun had a bit too much black beans in it. If you're looking for something that's quick, pretty good then this is a good place. If you're looking for something to hold a large(10 or more) family dinner M's interior is rather small and not like Rice Bowl or Happy Garden. read more

I came here and tried the $5.50 lunch special a few days ago. The young man who served me was friendly and attentive. There weren't many customers here when I visited but the food here tasted authentic and the portions were generous. I am not an eggroll person but the delicious eggroll which came with the lunch special was about 1" in diameter and it was full of fresh vegetables. I tried the vegetable with chicken dish and it was fairly good. I deducted one star because the hot and sour soup tasted too sour and funny. My first time here, dined in & also placed an order to go. I was pleasantly surprised with my tasty combo dine in meal. General Chicken was fresh, was brushed with a delightful sauce with crispy chicken (not greasy). It was accompanied with a very nice egg fried rice & perfectly made Chicken Chow Main, plus an egg roll. I'm a chow hound, but even for me the portions were ample enough that I took what I couldn't finish home with me. When I got back to the house, my friend tried his Lemon Chicken combo and he exclaimed it was authentic and tasty. Although it was almost closing time (9:00 PM on Thursday), at least three customers came in for pickup orders. M's was spotlessly clean during my visit and the restaurant is in fine condition. It seems to be a family owned business with a very good following. Their staff is very friendly and they checked with me more than once to make certain that everything was to my liking. We have been going to Ms garden for close to 20 years. Their food is always good and their service is excellent.

First, all the food was cold except the soup. That was fine. The broccoli and beef- meat was like rubber, the carrots and broccoli was very undercooked. They were still crunchy. The chicken chow mein - the Noodles were fine but the chicken had the weirdest texture and a very offputting taste. It made my wife sick. The lemon chicken breading was good, the sauce had a chemicle taste and the chicken was dry. Needless to say we will not be returning. read more
