After paying for my meal I did not want to tip because I have to keep on asking for drinks and water while they were sitting in the tables chit chatting. I got annoyed a few times. After paying and about to leave the lady asked you are suppose to tip at least one 10% it's mandatory ? Since when is that 4 people 2 Adults 2 to small kids and service is not good I'm suppose to tip! No way it's a privilege and my choice I'm already paying for the food and if I didn't like the service I don't want to tip. I told the lady you just lost a customer that has been coming for 15 years and these are new owners and they suck not recommending this place if you want to be treated like crap! I have eaten here a few times now, and this is definitely one of the best Chinese places I have tried, and that is saying a lot because I love Chinese food! Their lunch specials portions are pretty big and extremely flavorful. I absolutely love the egg soup and the Mongolian beef. The pork fried rice is delicious and I literally scraped my plate clean because I could not waste any bit of my meal. The service is wonderful and I felt well taken care of. This place is across the street from my work, and I will be definitely coming back here often! read more

Chinese food! I love Chinese food! One of my favorites. Ever since I moved to around the area, I have been coming here. They are located at Vintage Park Center Plaza on Elk Grove Florin Rd and Vintage Park Dr. They are a little mom and pop restaurant. For those that know me, my all time favorite Chinese dish is beef pan fried noodle. Their version of the noodle is good. The noodle is crispy as it should be. Beef was tender, flavors were all there. Lots of veggies as well. Other than their beef pan fried noodles, I have also tried general chicken and house special chicken. General chicken has a little kick to it but not too spicy. Chicken is very tender. It was good. House special chicken is almost like general chicken but it's sweet and bit spicy at the same time. Also very tender and yummy. Portion is decent. Prices are about average but some dishes are a tad higher than other Chinese restaurants. Services were wonderful. When I dined in, the staffs would always talk to me like a friend. Very warm. I finally tried them for the first time and I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I liked their food! From what I've seen they gear towards Americanized dishes, but they do it well! They didn't have traditional Chinese entrees, such as Roasted Duck, but the prices are great and the food is delicious, so I'll definitely be back! TL;DR: Good quality food at affordable prices, decent portions, and their breaded entree options were sooo good! Their General Chicken and boneless Peking Pork were soft and tender. What I especially loved was that the breading was light and crisp, it perfect for those who don't like a ton of batter on their meat entrees! I can't believe how good it was! LOCATION/PARKING: Its in the Vintage Park Center, next to Circle K. It's a smaller lot but it has a good number of spots so parking is pretty easy. ATMOSPHERE: Their interior seems clean and the decor is got a classic American diner feel to it. During COVID, as soon as you walk in, they have a small table to block off the rest of the dining room. The register is to the left so you can pay and pick up an order. SERVICE: It was my first ordering food from them and I called in my order for pick up. The gentleman who took my order was extremely friendly, which can be a rarity in Chinese restaurants. He was helpful in answering my questions and very accommodating of my preferences. FOOD: I ordered the General Chicken, boneless Peking Pork and two orders of the Beef Chow Mein. The chicken and pork were lightly battered and perfectly crisp on the outside, and so tender on the inside. The sauce was on the thinner side but I didn't mind in the slightest. The General Chicken was sweet and savory, but I would say it was spicy. The Peking Pork was a little sweeter. They both also came with a few pieces of broccoli. The Beef Chow Mein was very flavorful and not overly greasy. The noodles were on the thicker side which I actually liked. The beef was soft and also had good flavor. I always like to ask for "no bean sprouts" and they were nice enough to accommodate. Definitely looking forward to trying it more dishes! I eying the salt and pepper fish and pork entrees or their lunch specials. PRICE: The (a la carte) chicken dishes are mostly $8.95, but their General Chicken is $10.95. The Beef Chow Mein was $7.95 and the Peking Pork was $9.95. Overall their prices are affordable and on par with other cheap places. This is the closest restaurant to our house and so far we have no complaints. Like any restaurant sometimes the food is perfect and sometimes it's just not. But it's never been to the point where it's not edible and we've never had a bad experience. The customer service is great, always so friendly and food is done on time. Portions are a good size also. My kids love their orange chicken and fried rice and always have to order that. We haven't had anything here that we absolutely did not like. We'll definitely keep coming here and will eventually try different things in the menu. read more

I ordered the Sesame Chicken dinner combo. The good: amazing customer service, prompt service & food served nice and hot. The egg roll was good and crispy. The texture of the sesame chicken was good. Nice and crispy on the outside. Bean sprouts in the chow mein were fresh & had a nice crunch. The not-so-good: the chicken was sweet, but really had no flavor. Chow mein appeared fresh, but again, no flavor. The chicken in the chow mein was very bland & almost seemed steamed. I did like that they used white chicken in the chow mein, though. I'm not a fan of the big fat noodles either. The pork in the pork fried rice tasted reheated & weird. It was pretty dry. The rice itself was also dry & overcooked with an almost burnt flavor, but to flavor of spices. I felt that if it were not overcooked, it would have been flavorless. I really wanted to like this place since the prices are good and it's pretty close to home. Still trying to find excellent Chinese food. Haven't come across it yet. read more

There were holes in the box, everything was sitting in a pool of oil, only 4 pieces of chicken and about a million mushrooms and celery. The potstickers also had a weird taste to them. Tried this place out for a second time and the food is pretty good.. customer service is also pretty good.. but we are pretty disappointed in the portion size. We paid $50+ for chowmein, fried rice, chicken dish & beef dish which is a reasonable price until you open the container & see they've only given you enough food for 2 servings. Every other Chinese restaurant I've been too stuffs their containers full of food and there is left overs for the next day. Both times we've come here this happened.. if we paid closer to $40 maybe we wouldn't be so bothered but for over $50 & my husband & I were only able to have 1 serving each it's upsetting. The only thing we got a decent amount of was the fried rice which was extremely dry. All of the other food was pretty good though. Probably won't be returning for that reason. read more

It's one of those Chinese restaurants that are ubiquitous everywhere. However, it does American Chinese food well. Portion size are large, price is reasonable for the quality and freshness. The food has heat to it. I'm not talking about spiciness, but it has texture and flavor that a heat lamp at a chain restaurants cannot extract. Ambiance of the restaurant is very nice, it's smaller but absolutely our favorite Chinese food place. We live in Rancho and drive over there all the time passing many other Chinese food restaurants we have tried but are no where near the quality of food M's has. I would give this place zero stars if I could. We placed an order through yelp (grubhub) waited over 1.5hrs when grubhub said it was only a 30min wait. Realizing that it was taking forever we called grubhub to cancel the order even though we were waiting in the restaurant keeping a live update. Waiting 1.5hrs they called our name with food in hand. They checked their system to see that we had it canceled and they asked us to pay for the order. So we just walked out. My boyfriend and I have been sick for days. I yelped which place I could go to for some soup. On my way home from work, I called M's Garden at 11:16. I was quoted 20 minutes. I got to This place at 11:41. I walked in, and this place only had one customer. There was no one at the front desk, and I waited there for about four minutes, counting. Finally, someone came out to ask me what I wanted to order. I told her I already put an order in, and she said oh yeah.... I had to remind her. Then she ran into the kitchen to tell them what I ordered. She apologized and said she was on the phone with the health department. They're so cheap they packaged all four styrofoam to go packages (1 rice, 1 chow main, 2 Gen chik) all in one bag. They packaged the Gen chick on top which made the bag super top heavy so it fell over and all the sauce spilled out. The person that handed us the food was very unfriendly and spaced out. Consistently crappy poor service by the person at the counter shamefully she asks acts like the owner. This place is decent for getting takeout on a work day. They use too much meat tenderizer, but their batter is light & crispy and not mushy like some other places. I was very disappointed with the customer service the last time I picked up lunch. Most other times I've gone in, a friendly young man has been taking orders and working the front desk. This time, a woman took my order (sesame chicken lunch combination and an order of egg rolls) over the phone. When I arrived, she told me my total was $26, which seemed a little steep to me. I asked her if that was the total for 1 lunch special and 1 order of egg rolls, and she insisted that's not what I had ordered. She seemed annoyed, but took my order back to the kitchen. When she brought it back out, it was a lunch combo but no order of egg rolls. I decided to just pay and leave, but I also tried to tell her that my order still wasn't right. She just kept cutting me off--seriously, multiple times, she didn't want to hear anything I had to say--until I finally gave up and left. It was honestly some of the rudest behavior I've ever seen from a restaurant employee or owner. As someone who has worked in customer service, I really do try to treat service industry folks with kindness and respect, and tip well, and I don't think my behavior warranted her rudeness. On top of that, the chicken portion was the smallest I've ever gotten from this restaurant, and I almost always order the same thing here. I don't think I'll be back for a while. read more
