I can't say enough good things about the two ladies that worked with us on Saturday the 21st in the Charlotte store. I wish I had gotten both names but Maria is on our pre-selection form. The two of them were so kind, so helpful. They deserve a pat on the back. Talk about good customer service and just all around wonderful people. Without even having to ask, they jumped in and assisted us. Made it easy, answered all our questions. They were pleasant (even though the store had just opened and people were already there, which would irritate me!). Customer service is lacking in a lot of places but not at MSI. The staff at MSI are wonderful! Very kind, patient, and super helpful! My husband & I are renovating our kitchen and we wanted to see full slabs of quartz to get a better idea visually of how it would look in our kitchen, so we went straight to the source! What you need to know is that you're not going to get pricing at this showroom, that is not what this place is here for. If you want to see big 'ol slabs of countertops this is your place! They don't actually sell anything here, it's just a showroom/warehouse, people! Courtney at MSI was wonderful! I went there to tag my granite slabs that I had picked out in Home Depot but once I saw them I realized that style was not going to work for me. Courtney showed us all the Home Depot options in Granite and helped us to stay within budget on the new granite. With her help we found the perfect granite for our kitchen countertops. I was told to come here by the store where we were getting our quartz from. Our quartz would be coming from here and we wanted to see a bigger slab to make sure that was the one we wanted. It's a little hidden since it's with a lot of other businesses. The store were we were getting our quartz from called them to make sure it was ok for us to stop by and to see if they had it in stock so we can see what it looks like. When we walked in there were two ladies at the desk area. My husband told her what we were there for and she seemed a little surprised. She started to ask my husband a lot of personal questions like name, address, number, etc. My husband asked her if she really needed all that for us to just view the slab and she said yes. Finally, when we were done with all that she walked us to the warehouse. I was honestly amazed at all the products they had. We had to wear hard hats while we were walking around. The girl was friendly but also seemed bored. Once we were done she offered us a sample to take home just as long as we brought it back. My husband took it and when we got in the car we realized that we didn't want to be that people and not return it. The location isn't close to our house so we decided to give it back to her and she laughed. Overall, the experience was ok for us. read more

Take the time to visit MSI. They have a fantastic selection of flooring, tiles, and slabs. I have also been searching for a kitchen sink and they are the only ones that have the one I've been looking for. Excellent selection of slabs. I picked out 4 and they were able to give me samples to take home. Hard to pick out but the samples do help. You will NOT be disappointed, go by and see them. I first heard of MSI while looking online for tiles on the Home Depot website. Many of the tiles I liked were made by MSI. After ordering multiple samples from HD and returning them, I discovered that MSI had a showroom/warehouse right here in Charlotte. What better way to shop than being able to see most of what the manufacturer has to offer? The showroom itself is very big and nicely set up. There's everything from tiles, stone, porcelain, ceramics and even a granite slab section. Definitely a great place to look at samples. That's where all of the nicety and politeness ends. Apparently, they only sell to/ deal with contractors. They won't even quote you a price. The gentleman who worked this past Saturday with the beard was very blunt, verging on rude. He kept wiping the counter to avoid giving us any further assistance. What do DIYers do? Just skip this place and buy from Home Depot or online from a tile retailer. And actually, we do have a tile contractor, but we were so turned off by our interactions that we won't be sending our contractor there. read more

During the building process, my developer recommended/referred us to MS International to select our kitchen and bathroom countertops. Upon my initial visit I was impressed with the showroom and the large selection of slabs available in the warehouse. I was allowed to walk the warehouse by myself and write down slabs that I was interested in holding. The staff was friendly, but wasn't extremely helpful and did not walk the warehouse with me, at any visit. After visiting some other locations I made a slab selection with MSI and was told they would tag them. I came three days later with a friend, to show them "my slabs". Come to find out they didn't tag them and they in turn were sold. Needless to say the process began again... I then found new slabs which were tagged again, but due to the fact my builder did not need for another three weeks they sold them, without notifying me. So, as Sam L. mentioned, only buy it when you are days within installing. Even though they say they hold/tag, their process doesn't seem to be working. Overall, the experience was very disappointing and I would not recommend MSI if you are serious about finding something you like, as they sell things to quickly and do not seem to have a good customer service approach. read more

Very fragile material!!!! I would give a negative rating if possible. I placed a special order for 1 box of Silver Travertine 6x24 ledger panels thru my local Home Depot to finish a backsplash, and it arrived in hundreds of BROKEN pieces. Home Depot was great and placed a new order for me after i gave them the box of crumbs i had recieved, but that order was ALSO BROKEN, every single piece was in multiple pieces, nothing usable!!!! Both times it was shipped to the store via UPS, you would think that better care would be taken with fragile material. Now, my contractor is on to other jobs and i'll be lucky to get my job done anytime soon since there is no telling when i'll actually get my order to arrive in a usable condition. For anybody looking to order just a few boxes and have them shipped.... DON'T DO IT! Home Depot customer service has been excellent, but i will never use MSI stone for anything again since they don't seem to care enough to handle small orders with care and offer to make it right with expedited shipping or anything like that. This is not only happening to me eithier, as i've had coworkers experience the same problem. MSI may have other better products, but i will still tell everybody who asks to NEVER order their panels for backsplashes, they are CHEAPLY made and too FRAGILE. I'm currently waiting for another replacement to arrive in a few days after Home Depot fought for me to get it expedited. While in front of me, they contacted MSI directly to explain the breakage issues and asked for better care to be given on this next attempt, but i'm not holding my breath. If i could tear down my backsplash and start over with something else i would! Who knew a PRICEY and attractive stone would be such CRAP! Good luck to those who have small projects and plan to use MSI panels, you'll need it! read more

We bought granite from Home Depot and went to MS International to select the tile. My husband and I were greeted immediately when we arrived. Ms. Carrie Donohoe helped us. Carrie really made the difference in terms of our experience. She was patient, friendly, and most importantly, she gave us wonderful advice in terms of the granite we ultimately selected. Carrie knows her product and she has a good eye. If you have a sample of the paint or wallpaper you are using, you do not need to bring a decorator. On our first visit, we did not bring any samples. Mistake. After we got home, my husband looked at the room and noticed that the wallpaper would be too busy with the granite we selected. A couple of days later, we returned to MSI armed with our wallpaper. Carrie helped us select a beautiful slab that complements the wallpaper. Ultimately, she changed our order without an attitude. Ask for her when you go to the store, you will not be disappointed. It may help to call ahead. Thats what we did. read more
