They had the lowest price car in the area, beating competitors by $1,000. And when i showed up to test drive it, it ran great and they let me drive it over to another dealership so that i could compare it to another car i was considering. Besides price the next best thing was the ease of purchasing the car. I had been approved by my bank for a loan but it was a holiday so the bank was closed. Not a problem, Cherner Bros just asked me to leave them a check and i could take the car with right then, and they wouldnt cash the check until my bank transfered the money over to my account. So before i took the car, for a perk i asked to have the car detailed. They did that no problem, and i picked it up the next day. When i picked it up, they had also added two new tires to the front becauae they found out the tread was to low. Awesome right...that was $240 saved. Of course i did get worried a day later when my low tireressure light came on....it was my back right tire was losing air....and it was not one of the new tires. So i called them and asked if they would fix that tire too! And hell if they didnt say sure, and did it for free. Turns out the tire had been plugged in the past and started leaking. To have a matching left rear tire i had them put that on at the same time and i paid the difference...$120. So to summarize, least expensive 2008 passat in the dc area, great staff, and 4 tires for the price of one! This place rules....highly recommend!!!

Giving them the benefit of the doubt we ended up purchasing that car. Within two weeks the car check engine light came on along with the oil light. The car was stalling out mid drive and the car was making rattling noises. We were told the car engine was under warranty for 30 days and that the car was given a brand new oil change at purchase. I took the car back and they "fixed" the engine and gave it an oil change AGAIN. After another two weeks the car engine light came on again and the car stalled out on the highway while my mom was driving it. I reached back out only to be told I can't call back every time there is an issue with the car. These people do business in bad faith. We were better off keeping the original car. I suggest you do not do business with these people.

The moment my husband and I pulled onto the lot, I told the salesperson I only wanted to test drive that one vehicle. No other car. I provided my driver's license to them and we were off to test drive around Sykesville for about 30 minutes. Perfect experience so far. I fell in love immediately. When we returned, I told the salesperson we were ready to buy. There were a few minor issues with the vehicle, but they were covered under the 30-day warranty, so I wasn't too concerned. Here's where things shifted a bit. I paid cash for the vehicle--no financing involved. Despite this, they didn't offer any discount, not even $100 or $200. That surprised me. I understand times are different now and margins are tighter, but it still left a bit of a sour taste. Especially considering I wrote a check for the full asking price, including taxes, title, registration, and all fees. Also worth noting: I referred a coworker's boyfriend to this dealership before I even bought my "beauty". He purchased a car from them a week or two prior to my purchase. Yet, there was no referral bonus!! Again, not a dealbreaker--but something I feel should be mentioned. Another detail to be mindful of: Maryland caps the dealer processing fee at $800. They charged $785, which is legal--but they also charge tax on that amount. So while it looks like $785 on paper, it ends up being more like $832. Just something to be aware of when budgeting your finances. To be fair, the dealership did address the minor issues I mentioned earlier within the 30 day warranty, and I appreciate that. But I do feel those problems should've been resolved before listing the vehicle for sale or offering it for a test drive. All in all, would I buy another vehicle from them? Maybe, possibly. They have solid inventory and are locally owned, which I like. But I can't ignore that I was a cash buyer who referred another customer--and I didn't feel like that was valued. A small gesture would have gone a long way. Even just a modest discount or a thank-you referral credit might have made me a long-term, loyal customer. Just something to consider if you're planning to buy from here. Great cars, but I wish the overall customer service had matched the quality of the inventory.

I saw a car online I was interested in and I called the dealership. I was unable to get there on the day I called as I had the flu and we were juggling one car. I asked if the car could please be held until Thursday. The man on the phone said there were actually two of them on the lot and sure they could do that. I got a call Thursday around noon that the one vehicle left that I was coming to test drive was being sent to the Lexington Park site and she "goofed up" as she did not do something within the computer to keep the car there. There was a similar vehicle at the Germantown location that costs a bit more. I told her I was willing to look at and test drive that one if the price was negotiable for this mess she had just put me through. She retrieved the car and I went there to test drive it. The car's exterior was FILTHY. The black car was almost yellow. We drove it and it seemed fine. We returned and we noticed a lot of small nicks in the paint. We pointed them out to her and said due to the car's filth we can't tell if it's dirt or paint chips. She took it to the car wash and came back and there were chips EVERYWHERE. I said "Well, how much are willing to take off the price?" She said, no, this is a price tag dealership. We don't do that. So, despite what she said on the phone, they were going to do NOTHING. Then, she had the NERVE to text me the next day and said they would not change the price, but would "try to do that best they can" to clean up the paint job. If you are going to consider this place, show up and look at the cars and make sure they are clean as they may be hiding damage.

Not only did they make me wait almost 2 hours to do a 5 minute plug in inspection ( I had made an appointment), but they charged me $230 for said inspection. They gave me an estimate of over $1100 to fix it. I decided not to fix it until my circumstances changed and in December 2025 I called them to see if they would fix it for the $1100 estimate. They said they would not honor that estimate and would have to charge me another $230 to 'reassess'. What a ripoff. No customer service. I will make sure to spread the word not to use this Service Department.

I insisted that it wasn't the alternator after having 3 replaced before bringing it to them. The service advisor came back and told me that it was my alternator once again. I asked them again to look deeper into the problem to which Anthony stated that the alternator was the problem but there was also a voltage drop when we shook the wiring harness. I asked "Can you check into that then please?", he told me "its an expensive repair and there is no test to tell them exactly if it is the wiring harness". Anthony insisted again it was the alternator so we paid $1600 for the replacement part. 2 months later we are back to the same issue so I brought the car back to the dealership because of the warranty. After I informed them of the same problem happening they told me I would have to pay a new diagnostic fee of $250 which I refused. They ended up waving the fee but did the same diagnostic of shaking the wiring harness and said it would need to be changed. They requested a repair amount of $3348 for the engine wiring harness. I refuse to repair the car with good sense that they are throwing another bill at me with no real skill to repair their own cars. Fortunately, this is my last Nissan car purchase for life lol. They have to many issues with less then 5 years of ownership.
