We love it here. We visit pretty much every summer to get away from the Vegas heat. The cabins are cute and each one has a fireplace and porch area where you can enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Old and outdated. This place definitely gives you the most cabin like experience you can get away from everyone and close to Lee canyon. This was a great pit stop for restrooms. They also have a restaurant if you would like to get something to eat. The food is a little pricy for burgers and regular meals but the portions is not to complain about. Lots of parking near by and if there is snow then a great place for the kids to play. Rooms are not impressive. Old furniture and definitely needs repairs. Highly recommend coming by to check it out but definitely not to stay. read more

If you don't have time to read the review, here are important tips to know: -Bring your own blanket/towel -Bring toilet paper -Bring your own drinks/food -Beware of bugs and spiders -Your nearest place to eat is at the 24-hr Retreat on Mt Charleston Our stay here at the Lodge Cabins has been greatly anticipated due to thought of having place of rest in the middle of Mt Charleston. Now that we stayed here, and between renting out 5 of the cabins between our party, it's safe to say that our expectation was somewhat met. The cabins doesn't really set the standard for appeal or appearance. As explained in their e-mails, check in is from 2-5pm. We were arriving late so opted to do a late check-in through the e-mail. Apparent the office is closed after 5pm so you won't have any help after those hours. Check out was easy, bring the brown bag back with you and simply drop it off at the office on your checkout date. They state the Cabin's max occupancy has no exceptions, 2 guests for single king, 4 guests in a 1 king and 2 twins, or 6 guests in 2 kings and 2 twins. If they're flexible, props to them but I don't know. You could easily move a chair and the table off to the side if someone has a sleeping bag or inflatable bed. There is a pet fee at $35/night for 1 pet or $55/night 2+ pets. So just know that pets may have stayed at the cabin you're staying at. The cabin has a microwave and a mini fridge. I didn't use the hot tub but the tub and shower is one whole thing. There's also a small TV and DVD player. Bring your own if you don't want to borrow DVD's at the office. Will I stay here again? Sure. It was just more convenient to stay here before the marathon and have some relaxing fun before the race started. read more

Cabin 4 was clean and comfortable (albeit an old school rustic clean), spare blankets in the closet but we didn't need them. We brought pre made food that wouldn't need cooking (other than reheating) which worked out because the electric burner was so slow. I ended up microwaving a soup we brought for my lunches and dinners. We had brought an egg salad too but the fridge froze it and it became inedible. It'd be nice if they could add one of those all in one toaster ovens so you have more options for food preparation. I wish they had provided paper towels in the kitchen. No hair dryer in bathroom. TV had DirectTV and a DVD player, with a small movie collection in the office to borrow from. Overall we had a nice stay, but as far as value goes it fell short. I probably wouldn't stay here again unless they added more amenities without increasing the cost (almost $1000 for 2 nights!) read more

Got a cabin in April of 2026 for a birthday trip. It was wonderful! The balcony and fireplace was worth it on its own. Management was kind, they have movies to choose from in office, and offer a simple breakfast of snacks, oatmeal, coffee, and juice. Quiet, safe, and personal. I can't wait to go again! 4 stars because it would benefit from a deep clean. Dust was piled in the decor higher in the cabin, and between some of the higher logs. I understand it's a wooden cabin, but it seemed overdue. Couch and chair were more patched up than original material. I also didn't feel comfortable trying out the jetted tub BUT we did get hot water in the shower! read more

I thought it was a good idea to stay here with my 6yr old son for his bday last week.. terrible decision that was! cabin 7 is what i booked, talk about false advertisement!!! This place was the worst!!! Super outdated.. the "fire place" was a complete joke it was the smallest little box with a screen showing a burning fire that generated zero heat!. We tried going to sleep and turn the heater to full blast, the temp in the room never even reached 70 degrees. The beds are terrible and rock hard and old, WiFi was non existent i had to use my hotspot on my phone so my son could watch cartoons on his iPad... it's sad i used to come here years ago.. now it's just a complete DUMP!! No one even cared or tried making it right.. tried calling a manager they never picked up or returned my calls... i would never recommend this place to anyone. Quite the opposite tbh. LIEEEE Cons -No where to eat unless you drive few miles down to another lodge with really bad food. -cabins need updating... beat up old furniture, -Floors are Tile and no rug to keep your feet warm in winter. -check in is from2-5 (you better not miss your check in window) -jacuzzi tub is gross looking.. wouldn't get in -no basic amenities, (Super rough towels ,no drinking water, no tissue paper, no pen or paper, etc -if you have pet allergies stay away. On January 8th my wife and I were going to celebrate our 26th anniversary. Weather channel, tv, and weather bug stated snow in morning but clear from 11 am on. Check in is at 2. At 1 there was flashing lights saying chains required. I have 4x4 so we trucked on. Made it to the retreat when the blizzard started. My wife called to cancel since could not make it to the cabin. The guy who answered was rude and no money back, no partial refund, and no offer for another day. Just a 191 dollar charge to card. I have news article that stated sr 157 was closed at said time. Born and raised in Vegas and used to love to go to these cabins. Did not even complain last October where we had to move cabins since mice kept us up all night. Cabin 15 to be specific. Save your money and time and try some place else. The retreat down the hill was nice to us. read more

Had a wonderful day during Xmas stay with 2 families, 2 groups of small children and moms. I was in room 7 and other family in 21. My cabin was definitely more rustic then cabin 21. Both were on lower levels and king. My cabin was super dark in the entry and it was very hard to navigate the refrigerator/microwave area which was very needed as there is no food/drinks options with the lodge being rebuilt. This was not the case with cabin 21, which was more bright. Each room had a fireplace, nice big patio overlooking the canyon, jetted huge tub, sitting area and small tv. It was really nice and quiet as the cabins are spaced well, so no noise really from neighbors. The cabins are pretty large too and if we had decided to share a cabin with two beds, we could have even opted to do that if we wanted. Check in at the front had to be done from 2-5 and they called the day of to let us know no one would be there after 5. So you are screwed if you need late check in. Luckly we were in town/local so it was not an issue. They gave us a bag with controllers for the tv and the internet password. Plenty of parking outside of the cabin. Had to haul some luggage down the stairs and some planks which wobbled a little sketchy. But, overall ok. The continental breakfast consisted of hot water, coffee, instant oatmeal, granola bars and a couple of packaged pastries. I really just took advantage of the hot coffee as I already had prepared to bring breakfast. Overall, we had a nice stay. I've stayed at the resort down the road, which is the less expensive option and I definitely preferred our stay here at the cabins. I hope to be back soon. read more

All our interactions with members of staff were great. They are very friendly and helpful. The cabins are pretty nice & clean. There were no bugs, dust or hairs found during our check in inspection.furnished with a big comfortable bed, equally comfortable leather couch and a leather love seat , small glass top table some night stands and a small refrigerator, microwave,coffeemaker and 32' tv. The cabin also had a gas fireplace in the center that we had on the whole time. The water does take awhile to get hot so you have to run it. The restaurant they had was burnt down so the closest place is the lodge down the road or you can just drive the 29 min to the store or restaurants. There are plenty of walking trails near by with beautiful scenery. We were there during a wind storm so barely got any sleep so to noise caused by wind and the room got pretty colder around 2am .I do suggest a couple of things 1. Bring coffee & filters you like 2. Bring bottled water 3. Bring extra blanket & pillows( especially in cold months) 4. Bring your own toilet paper. Pros.. The cabin was nice and the staff was friendly. It was a convenient getaway from Las Vegas. Cons.. they called me at 4:30 PM to let me know that I had until 5 PM to check in, after that, they are out of the office so you lose your hotel room and your money. They do not send a text or email or anything stating this. There are no vending machines so if you do not bring food and drinks then you have nothing. Breakfast does not start until 9 AM which is really late. Most hotels start at 6 AM. They also overcharged my account. It took a week to get back. Also, every hotel I have ever stayed at don't charge for dogs until you actually get there, but they charged my account a week early and didn't even let me know that they were charging it. Plans changed and sometimes the dogs don't end up coming, but yet I was already charged for them. read more

The closest restaurant is 15 minutes away, there's nothing to eat around so make sure you bring food. We were able to relax, it's a short get away from the city but very disappointed with the quality of the cabin. It's a really good place, but management needs to put a touch more of love and care. Sadly to say we won't be visiting these cabins anymore. I've been going here on and off for 18 years. Seemingly a nice mountain get away as we love to hike and enjoy the balcony in the cabin. This weekend will be our last. The cost was $250 for one night plus an extra for our dog ($25). When I walked in I could hardly believe what I saw. The furniture hasn't always been up to par but we accepted it in the past and just overlooked the negatives. Not anymore. This place hasn't made ANY improvements that I see in all the years I've been coming. The hot tub is disgusting and this place is just "tired" and hard to look at. The costs cuts are obvious right down to the soap....one...the size of a half dollar coin and one small bottle of shampoo and conditioner. We always bring our own but it just goes to prove how cheap they are. The beds are hard and very high and the quilt is paper thin. I also bring my own blankets! Too much money for this place. A renovation has been needed for years. At this cost you would think it would happen! Nope...SAVE YOUR MONEY just stay at the hotel lodge, it's decent. read more

I was unsure how this stay would be because of mixed reviews online, but I wanted to book a nice nature getaway for my gf and I on my birthday, so I ended up booking us one of the lodges. It was amazing in every way. Beautiful, peaceful, and cozy. The staff was very friendly as well and they had a bunch of DVD's you can bring back to your room to enjoy for the evening. Being so close to the Cathedral Rock Hiking Trail was perfect as well. I don't know what people wanted but for the price, it was absolutely worth every penny. I will definitely be returning more frequently! My only complaint was the pillows, they are quite horrible, and I remember reading that in other reviews but still forgot my own pillows. But other than that, amazing experience. I would recommend brining all your own food and water since there is nowhere to get anything up there. The Retreat is not very far though and is an option, including a 24 hour coffee/drink shop. read more

I've stayed at the cabins twice on the last two months in separate 4 person cabins. The main beds are comfortable. The twin and trundle I would not recommend for an adult. They are a bit springy and appear to be older. The views from the back decks are great. The office staff have been kind during any interactions. The cabins could be deep cleaned a bit, dust buildup on fans and curtain rods etc. The bathtub and shower are odd, triangle shaped and in the main room. If you're looking to get away from the city and enjoy the fireplace and quiet of the mountains it's worth a stay! Also close to snow play areas (30 minutes away). read more

Good night sleep tight.... Let nothing stir for it's cold outside! Let's go inside and gather around the fire! Pst, please as you pull up look behind you! It's Mt. Charleston that's greets you. In all its magical moments we are in its shadow. Brrrrr, in the winter your surrounded by beauty and cold. Stand here a moment just let those cares from work and life melt away. These are the "in between moments" that we wait for. For these fleeting moments that are far between are unlike any other times. They are special and precious. Bask in them with me. Hold one another under the mountain for the evening. For Mt. Charleston is hosting our stay; shall we go check in and get in out of the cold. We shall! All those cabins in a row, some are behind; a few turn and bend. The fire did not damage the individual cabins; just the lodge. As we enter the cabin the room was prepared awaiting our arrival. The fire place was on, so was the heater. Brrr, it's cold outside. It's that chill in the air, but make sure and layer to keep cozy and warm. Now the only thing that we discovered too late was the heat lamp in the bathroom. Make sure and turn on the heat lamp bulb so you don't freeze your tootsies off getting up to go to the bathroom. As for your stay it's a go inside time and have those cuddle up moment. The dogs are along too. Of course! The bathtub has a whirl pool bath, it's real nice too. It accommodates two nicely. Those jets blow and keep the bubbles a coming as long as you want them. After a long bubble bath; bring your own candles and personal bath effects the bed is right across from the bath. The room comes complete with a microwave and small fridge. Make sure and bring your own food, snacks, water, coffee, and munchies. No store is available for miles. This area is roughing it compared to what Vegas offers. No Uber eats or modern conveniences anywhere in site. The cell phone is optional, but great for snapping memories. Other than that put the devices away and enjoy "the one your with." These are the moments that you will remember together. These are those unwritten pages that you are writing forever more. As you kick back together the porch put back is fully ready to and take it all in. The views from the back porches show the many features of the area. At every turn a tree with snow might be in your way; but really that's what you came for. The rocks and cactus are no where in site. Look at that tree. Wow, Vegas does really feature some culture aside from gambling and golfing. Find your happy. Center and regroup while your here. In the evening let your mind wander, look up into the sky as you stand on the back porch. Those twinkles up in the sky are stars. If you look close enough many constellations can be observed too. Download a star app on that cell device and have some fun with the one you love. Did you hear that? It was a thump and a bump in the middle of the night. The cabins are raised off the side of the mountain, so underneath us a bump happens once in a while. The wind whistles. Snuggle in closer to him and enjoy these moments. Is that Bigfoot? If it was, we won't tell. One thing I will tell. After a time here, it's relaxing and time to go back to life. The memories and moments that we started here are those "in between times," that make it all worth while. Find some time to get away. It's an hour drive from Las Vegas here. Let me start by saying I loved it and I wish I could stay 10 days a month. Pros: Peacefulness Great cable and cell service, no WiFi though but the cell service was great. The entire cabin to yourself. Parking was easily accessible. The views from the porch are wonderful. The refrigerator and microwave. The beds were so cozy and comfy. The gas fireplace that's on a timer, so you don't have to worry about turning it off and on. The direct tv and cozy couch set up. Did I say the peacefulness? Cons: Spiders, we are in their domain. RIP to the spider that lost its life during my stay. It was self defense. The dusty cabin, although clean, lots and lots of dust. If you're sensitive, I'm warning you. I do recommend bringing your own blankets for the beds. And pillows. House shoes are a must. And maybe a night light if you need one with kids. The lighting in our cabin (#14) was very harsh. I can't stand those white cool lights at night. Bring a toiletry bag with the products you like because you might not have access to proper washes and lotions. Also, and a big also, bring your own food. I repeat, bring your own food that can be heated up in the microwave or camping style. Remember the lodge burnt down there is no food up there, except at the resort down the way and that's a whole another review for a whole another time.....I did make one though All in all, I love the cabins I will always request a big cabin for large families and I wish I can be up there 10 days a month. This was our spontaneous trip. We booked a cabin for two nights in January. It was around $460 after tax. The website didn't describe well which cabin has what amenities, so we picked cabin #21. Almost every cabin has different layouts, and amenities. Cabins don't share walls, so loud noises are not a problem. Cabin 22, 23, and 24 are on ground level, facing the parking lot. Cabin 19, 20, and 21 are one stair down from the ground level. I'm glad that we got cabin 21 as it has a private entry and a balcony that faces the mountains. If you want kitchenette, go for cabin 4. Cabin 21 has a microwave, a fridge, a fireplace, and bathtub that is in a separate area from toilet and sink. Check in time is 3-5pm, but the let me check in at 11 am. You won't be able to check in if you come later than 5! Continental breakfast is 8am-10am in cabin 23. It was coffee, and prepackaged snacks like string cheese, uncrustables, crackers, muffins, and fruit cups. They are still working on WiFi for the cabins. We used hot spot to stream movie at night. Overall, it was such a great cabin trip for our family. Cabin 21 was big enough for our family of 4. We had our 9 year old sleeping on the couch. The entire stay, we did not hear any noise, and didn't get any complaint about how much noise kiddos made. Definitely pack sandwiches, noodle cups and wine as there is just Retreat restaurant in the area. Management told me that by this spring, they will have a mt Charleston popup restaurant to serve food while the main restaurant is being rebuilt. read more

First time staying here and we were in cabins 1 and 2. While the scenery is beautiful, that's about the extent of things. The cabins are extremely dated. Furniture is worn down and rickety. None of us got any sleep because the beds and pillows were terribly hard and awful. My husband actually said he considered sleeping in the car at one point of the night. That's a real bummer considering we paid almost $300 for the night for one cabin and almost $200 for the other. I assume the bedding was clean because it's a rental, however, we all slept with our clothes on because it just wasn't a comfortable environment. The walkways outside are an accident waiting to happen with caution tape and loose planks. The staff was nice enough, but we were surprised to see cones and an entrance barrier upon our arrival. I called from the car to ask how we were supposed to get in and the lady seemed surprised to hear it was blocked off and said she would send someone to open it. The guy explained they use those because the parking lot is only for cabin guests and not the random people driving through looking for a parking spot. Which is fine, however, that could've been mentioned ahead of time in one of the multiple emails or calls I received prior to our arrival. Lastly, while this is of no fault of the Lodge, please be careful and mindful of your surroundings. My husband was out walking our dog at night when a drunk driver came flying around the curve and crashed into the mountain directly across from the cabins we were in. We had to call the police and paramedics for the driver. I wanted to love this place so badly. Unfortunately, the experience fell short and we won't be returning. read more

Needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. The dogs & I have never had a real vacation together before. This place is completely underrated. If you're a low-maintenance person who appreciates solitude, go here and you'll love it! I brought a mini freezer for my dogs' food (low voltage, just to be safe!) Moved some furniture around to get things as comfy as possible for us all, just to make it our own for a little while. Of course I put the furniture back to the way it was prior, cleaned my own messes, etc. I brought microwavable foods for myself, really had it feeling like a glamping trip :) they offer free breakfast in the morning! I hear it's great! I personally slept in as long as I could, so I brought meals for myself, knowing I'd be sleeping in. I had reception, but I actually wanted to disconnect. The sights were so gorgeous, and rarely logged into the wifi (they offer that!) And primarily used my phone for pictures. The view is breathtaking.. (these images don't do an ounce of justice compared to seeing it in person) I brought 2 dogs with me, and they loved it SO much! Also, this isn't super far from Vegas, I realized I forgot a few things and was happy to be able to drive home and back without killing daylight! This is the PERFECT getaway. Pros: -We saw 6 wild horses -Mom and pop vibes; my favorite. Not some high-end multimillion $ owned place. NOTHING like casino stays. this is its own experience, with a small amount of staff doing the best they can. -The reviews had me so scared and hesitant, I'm so grateful that I took the leap and just did it. -Pet friendly! don't be a jerk, pick up after your pets and please be kind to the staff. I'd never expect anybody to clean up any of my dogs messes. (They are potty trained so they go outside on walks and hikes) but if your pet isn't potty trained, please don't make the staff clean up after you, let's ensure this place stays pet-friendly for as long as possible. -There's no need to call them, the office is SO close to the cabins, a tiny walk and they'll get everything taken care of! Keep in mind, you're in the middle of the woods, phone calls aren't always a possibility. -It feels SAFE. The staff isn't there overnight, so if you're alone, it might feel a little spooky, but all the guests just keep to themselves, didn't get spooked not one bit. -We saw ZERO bugs! -Laundry pick-up came quickly and efficiently. I needed way more towels than I had expected, and they were quick to give me towels right at the front desk -I only wanted room service when we were out of the room hiking, and I communicated that with the front desk and they ensured it would be done while we were out and about. They followed through. We came back and everything was back to normal. -THE STAFF! AMAZING! Thomas, Jeff, Maria,Irene & Margarite. (I stayed long enough that I was able to meet everybody. They are so professional, kind, and considerate! Such a joy to converse with them all!) -the cabins are individual, not connected to anything. so you don't have to hear anything through thin walls, you're truly in your own orb of peace, quiet and birds chirping -the pricing is JUST RIGHT, any higher, I wouldn't have wanted to stay for as long as I did. Worth every single penny. -JET BATH- oh my lanta. I could go swimming in that tub. (I brought my own cleaning supplies for that, just to be safe!) But it was incredibly clean to begin with. The tub makes you just want to relax. Such a treat! -This ended up being the best possible experience and bonding time with my dogs away from home. I look forward to booking room 13 again. *please don't change your prices lol* -My dogs didn't want to leave, we all found ourselves sitting on the patio or going for hikes as much as possible. Cons: -maybe adding a few more lights outside in the parking lot/walkways. It would make the late-night walks more fun since in the woods it gets PITCH BLACK dark. If not, that's okay, I'll just bring a huge flashlight next time -a few rugs would be great, the floors are quite cold in the morning. Although, I requested a lot of towels for this reason and you provided that immediately, thank you!! -reviews scared me. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. Don't stress about it prior to your experience like I did, such a waste of my time to take the negative reviews so seriously. I'm grateful to have found this gem.. I've told all of my friends about how lovely this place is, and they all plan on booking for their next vacation with their own children and pets. Thank you to the staff, for answering all of my questions even before the stay, putting my mind at ease, and welcoming us so kindly! You guys made this stay so stress-free. We needed something to do for my dad's birthday and decided to check out the cabins in mt charleston. Definitely worth it get away from the city for the weekend or a day. They cabins themselves are spacious and just as we expected. We got the cabin 14 it has two king size beds as well as a twin bed with a pull out part fits 6 people. Also had a microwave and mini fridge, we got lucky and had a little snow which was great mini taste of Christmas in march . Thank you for the great first experience. read more
