Amazing Bun with grilled pork! I don't visit BP hardly and I drove by this place while working on a weekend and decided to get some takeout and give their food a try. First off, all of the people who work there were super nice and helpful. Secondly, the food was AWESOME! I got their Bun with grilled pork & egg roll. It cost a couple of dollars more than my usual Vietnamese spot but they give you a TON of food. It was SO good, I ate it all up! Bad customer service, never be first come first serve. Take so long to serve us and wait it for pretty long to the point I just want to leave. We come in with 15 people's. After reading some glowing reviews about MT Noodles I had to add that to my ever growing and never ending list of places to go. As fate would have it we found ourselves "in the neighborhood". Even though we had already had a meal with our grandparents, and you know how those meals can go, we figured we needed to pick up some food as we would have to eat again sometime. Reading the reviews was all we needed to know. We're big fans of the sautéed beef with fried potatoes as that is one of our favorite meals at Vietnamese restaurants. We picked up some spring rolls and I was really looking forward to their fried rice with Chinese sausage however was told that was no longer on the menu. Ugh. I really love Chinese sausage and rice. Oh well. The sautéed beef and fried potatoes was excellent. The potatoes were crispy and the beef was silky. Such a great meal. The spring rolls were fresh and stuffed. The peanut dipping sauce was homemade and also very flavorful. I really liked the freshness and the crunch of the spring rolls. That really helped balance the richness of the friend potatoes and sautéed beef. Rice would have been nice, Chinese sausage maybe would have been a little rich but sure would have been good too. ...if Only I had not grown up in the mid-2000's and 2010's in St. Paul to experience the great revolution of banh mi and Pho in restaurants along University, I would give this a 5 star... So read and keep my bias in mind. When I want Pho...various meats, piping hot to cook rare beef flank slices to cook with the temperature of the broth alone ... (and the myriad of smells and flavors permeating from a well tended beef based broth...) and do not want to travel more than 15 minutes away, I come here. They NEVER disappoint. The broth is flavorful, multidimensional hitting the savory, salty, sweet, and umami notes while having a good proportion of meat to noodle ratio. And the proportions are beyond generous as is expected of a good Pho establishment. Comes with the fixings of chili oil, hot sauce, sriracha, hoisan, fish sauce, and the accompaniment of basil, fresh bean sprouts, lime and mint. Delish. I have found 1 or 2 other that are better in the entire Twin Cities area, and those are in the heart of St Paul and Minneapolis. The Banh mi, I would say is generous in size, meat to bread ratio and with the appropriate veggies, however I could not taste the Viet mayo or pate, which to me is the iconic taste of a Banh Mi. I am that Banh Mi brat that holds a certain St. Paul spot on a pedestal that I have yet to find to even begin to meet in quality, and so I say, when I really want Banh Mi and do not want to travel more than 30 minutes, I would consider here. But no pate?! that no be a Banh Mi!! You are my Pho go to in the recent 6 mile radius and so for that you will always have my business. You always take COVID-19 precautions seriously, with masks PROPERLY WORN over nose and all, and I thank you for that and your desire for a healthy community. Amazing. First of all, I respect all restaurants that take a day off in the week. I think it really gives opportunity to reset and ensure quality. Disclaimer: I ordered from GrubHub, so I have never been to the restaurant and cannot speak to the dine-in or take-out experience there. Though, given my negative GrubHub experience, I probably will order directly next time if I can. My SO and I both ordered the Pho Dac Biet. I was very impressed. We did have to reheat the broth in order for the beef to cook, which wasn't a huge deal, but the broth flavors were amazing. I wish they added chili sauce along with the hoisin, but luckily we had some at home. I think we got ample meat to go in the broth. It was so good. The spring rolls are hands down the best spring rolls I've ever had. I know that is a huge superlative, but I feel like I've eaten a lot of spring rolls in my life so far. Fresh, authentic, delicious, dare I admit: palate-expanding? Yes! The hardest part for me was choosing one item for lunch, so we didn't. Tried the Shrimp Cakes (it was a first for me) as an appetizer. Moved onto the Banh Xio (Vietnamese Crepe) which I have had other places-only to find that the crepe was covering the entire tray! It was enough lunch for an entire family. And did I mention, fresh? Our other choice was the Com Tam Her Nuong, Bi, Cha, New & Tau Hu Ky (Com Dac Biet). Whoa. This place caught me by surprise. It's a typical hole in the wall strip mall pho stop, which is my fav. This was the last on my "Want to Try" list on the strip of 85th running down Brooklyn Park. Funny thing is that you can't see the restaurant sign from the street because there's a building blocking the sight lines. I just had to trust Yelp won't lead me astray! I was greeted right away and seated promptly on a weekday lunch hour. She brought the water and I ordered Pho Dac Biet. There is no Bun Bo Hue here. When the Pho came I always taste the broth first, and I was impressed. Floored actually. This is the best broth imho in this part of town...Brooklyn Park/Ctr, Osseo, Champlin, Maple Grove. I can think of at least half dozen places, three just on 85th. Again, pho is very subjective. FYI I revere bone broths slow cooked for hours and hours, skimmed, and seasoned just right. I don't mind a little on the sweet side than others. The meat and noodle portions were just right. Lemon instead of lime today though. The meat ball was huge. Oh what a gem of a find!!! There were so many things here I'd never had the opportunity to try, I'll have to come back to the blustery cold of Minneapolis just to try more of their dishes. MT Noodles is a great option for Viet food in the Northwest suburbs in the Twin Cities. It's one of the only ones I am aware of in MN that have some authentic dishes similar to what you would see in Viet Town in Cali. Some must haves: 1. House egg rolls- these are mini ones made with pork and shrimp. Kids love them, super crispy and I could probably eat a full order on my own 2. Garlic chicken wings- full of garlic flavor, I love my wings! These are popular. We came in with family from California on a Sunday for late lunch and they didn't have any 3. Number 13 is the bún đu mm tôm (grilled pork skewers and pork lettuce wrap with shrimp paste dipping sauce- this is an authentic dish I have only seen in Cali restaurants or made at home. It's a huge serving of meat that you eat with rice noodles and dip into the dipping sauce. The sauce is an acquired taste so beware if you are not into stinky fermented foods. The meats are the traditional grilled pork and steamed pork belly and it also normally comes with deep fried tofu as well. This will definitely feed 2-3 people depending on appetites 4. Number 16 on the menu is a broken rice dish (cm đc bit). Tons of food and could easily feed two people or one very large appetite. Comes with marinated grilled pork, shredded pork (bì), eggloaf, Chinese sausage and a shrimp in beancurd wrap. Your usual veggies and fish sauce come with it as well. I prefer to not pour my fish sauce on the entire dish because not a big fan of my rice getting soggy, but some do so do what your heart desires. My favorite is the shrimp in beancurd wrap, it tastes like the shrimp outside to a shrimp crab claw that you normally have at dim sum. The last time we were there, the special was whole fish wraps! Guys..never seen this in a Viet restaurant in MN!! Comes with rice paper to wrap your own fish spring rolls. We ordered the large and it fed 4 people and we still had leftovers to take home and we enjoyed the fish the next day too for lunch. It comes with the traditional Viet pineapple dipping sauce ( see warning above under #3. If not a fan of fermented foods, I would ask for their regular fish sauce in case you don't like it). I went out with coworkers to MT Noodles. #7 was my coworkers favorite, so I just had to try this bowl out. It was delicious. I was very glad to see the sauce on the side so that I could put as little or as much as I'd like on the noodles / salad. For about 80%, the pork was very lean - there was some chunks of fat. I personally am not the kind of gal that loves eating that tasty fat. But if you are, you'd love this bowl. The egg roll was also very crispy and had great flavor. I've been going to MT Noodles for 3 years and so an update is due: it's still gd good as ever! They have renovated their space since my last review, and despite the interior changes, their food is still consistenly bountiful and delicious. The space is now larger and brighter and totally rearranged. They updated it with modern accents like white tiles and grey flooring. It looks clean, but some walls could use some pops of color. And they now have a counter and case that features some desserts and snacks to-go (and is where you pay when you're done). Like I said, the food is still killer. Very authentic, vibrant, colorful, flavorful food in large portions. Their spring rolls are still my fave in the cities, with tender pork, marinated shrimp, and crispy roll inside. The shrimp cakes are crispy yet delicate and are also gluten free! Their pho is superb, with rich but clear broth that needs no add-ons, and rare tender beef. Their platters (menu items 9-13) are abundant with fresh herbs, assorted meats, and are wonderful to share and assemble with friends. I've never gotten something that I didn't love here. Had lunch at MT Noodles with a friend today. We each ordered the Hot & Spicy Chicken -- lunch size with egg roll included. The food tasted quite good and the egg roll was fine. But we both wished the cook would have heated the food before serving it. Both servings of the chicken dish were only very slightly warm, and much of the rice was colder than room temperature when put in front of us. Clearly wasn't heated through and/or it sat a very long time before the waitress brought it out. I'm sure I will give them another chance, but having cold lunch was disappointing. read more

Dropped in for one to-go order of banh khot (crispy shrimp rice cakes). Took a good minute, and for good reason - the place was packed this past Sunday, and several tall stacks of to-go boxes made their way out of the kitchen during our wait as well. Note to self: Call ahead our to-go orders. And order again we will. The eatery has definitely earned its many accolades. Banh khot is a treat rarely found on a restaurant menu. With a thin, crispy-golden crust that readily gives way to a soft, slightly-chewy center and the barest kiss of coconut milk, the bite-sized affair topped with savory shrimp and a pinch of green onion, banh khot is an absolute delight of taste and texture when done right. MT definitely does them right. Even with a to-go order that wasn't touched for a good 20 minutes after we left, the top layer of cakes was still crisp-tender. Asking that of the bottom layer after that amount of time sweating in a Styrofoam box is just greedy, regardless of the four large corner vents MT cut into the container to keep humidity down. That layer, of course, was soggy in places. To be expected given conditions. The texture of the cakes aside from that was wonderful and would definitely have been perfect if eaten fresh. The splash of coconut came through just enough to support the shrimp without trying to be the star of the show. The pickled julienne sticks of carrots and radish were plentiful and carried just enough tang to cut the oil of the cakes. Everything was in balance. My Irishman, in trying yet another of my childhood favorites, was instantly in love, noting that the flavors of the cake reminded him of popcorn. I laughed, though I definitely tasted how the mild rice flour paired with the other elements to lend to that impression. We devoured the six cakes with no sense of heaviness, no greasiness, just little bites of good eats we look forward to having again. Likely as part of a dine-in experience next time. read more

Easily the best Viet restaurant in the Twin Cites area. Owners and staff are so kind. You can't go wrong with any dish but we love the Bun Cha Hanoi which is unique because not many Viet restaurants make this dish. The Nem Nuong is also incredible. And for $5, the iced coffee is tremendous value. Each entree can feed two as well so you really get a lot of bang for your buck. There's also a lot of spacious seating here too so you can bring your family and eat comfortably. 10/10 would recommend this place. read more

Great Vietnamese food in MN! Got takeout so can't comment on the service, but the food was pretty good! Banh Mi was good (and separating the cilantro and veg to go was a good way to make sure the sandwich stayed fresh), egg rolls were GREAT (crispy, not too salty, hot from being fried just before pickup, and the sauce with them was perfect). Vietnamese coffee was also good and not too sweet in the slightest! Could use a bit more flavor on the sandwich (I added sriracha) but definitely planing on coming back to try the pho! read more
