Finally had the chance to get to Mucho Gusto and was glad I did. Definitely not a tex-mex joint, so know that going in. Our house margaritas were flavorful and actually had tequila in them! From nachos made just the way I like - with cheese uniformly throughout- no skimpy little 1/8 of a cup just on the top, to a most excellent and zippy/spicy tamale to the poblano enchiladas, that were tasty and filling we felt the food was solid. The standout? Birria tacos. Moist, flavorful, addicting. Disappointments? The salsa needs to be more flavorful..and the chips that came to the table were bland... yes, I'm sure they were the same ones in the nachos but the nacho toppings saved them. We had a great experience here, our waitress was fantastic, she was super friendly and very attentive! We ordered drinks, we tried three different flavors of Margarita and they were all pretty tasty and not to sweet! The jalapeño margarita wasn't too spicy it was the perfect amount of space. The yellow Margarita came in a fancy bell jar with smokiness around it. We started with the Queso Dip with chorizo and chips and salsa, chips (corn), the chips were extra crispy and thick! For the main entrée we got a chimichanga and the Aji tuna tacos. They offered a lettuce alternative to the flour or corn tortilla, I'm a huge fan of this option! So we had a choice to make. Right to LA Tolteca or Left to Muchos Gusto. Since I hadn't been there before we went Left to MG. BIG MISTAKE!!! THIS IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD. It may be some Mexican ingredients but it's poorly executed at best. First, the drinks....their menu says something like, our "mixologists" love special requests. Well, I asked for a Michelada and got a hard "no" so I got a 9.50 jalapeño margarita. Imagine my surprise when it came out in a 6oz glass loaded with ice. I ordered the "ceviche"( see pic) and all it was was seared ahi tuna....NOT CEVICHE. I got the mole and she got the arrachera. The mole - WAY TOO SWEET and being served with rice and beans you'd expect to get a packet of hot tortillas with it, NOPE. The Arrachera was ok. Cooked well but not worth $34 especially since the vegetable(cauliflower) was burnt. The best part was the potatoes. They had my favorite desert, Tres Leches, but I chose not to get it. Everything was so mediocre I just couldn't. If faced with the decision of Left vs. Right from 24 to 1......GO RIGHT, to LA Tolteca. It'll DEFINITELY be worth it read more

The decor and atmosphere of this place is amazing! The service was pretty fast even though all the tables were filled! The food was a little bit on the pricey side but it was heavy on the flavor side! I recommend trying the paradillos because there's at least 4 or 5 different meats with rice on the side. Completely honest review. My experience had highlights and lowlights, hence the three stars. First, the food is amazing, like really, really good. But, the staff, one individual in particular, Ronnie, left something to be desired. I saw him using his bare hands to put ice into glasses for drinks. I asked for a Michelada, and he said that he could make one. He sprinkled some Mexican seasoning into a beer. Not even close. Just don't tell me you can do something if you can't. The same bartender, was completely rude to two female patrons, it was completely off-putting. They came to the bar and asked for two shots of tequila. He asks, "what kind?" Ok, so far, no harm there. Then the female patrons ask, "what kind of tequila do you have?" Now, instead of passing them the list of tequila and prices, which Ronnie had at his disposal, he arrogantly points to the wall of tequila behind him and doesn't say a world. The wall is about 50' long, you can't read what's on all those bottles, and the prices of each. All he had to do was give them the list. So these ladies basically told him to shove it, and left. Good for them. Then, while my drink is empty, Ronnie and about six staff members neglect their customers and go take Jell-O shots together, while working! Completely, completely, unprofessional. I'm all for a good time. I don't even mind bartenders drinking on the job, but I do mind the staff having their own party during working hours with customers in the store and neglecting them for their good time. Jell-O shots aren't a menu item, so this crew came prepared to drink on the job. All this, done with the owners approval. He's sitting at the end of the bar watching the circus and approving of Ronnie's behavior. Also had to ask for chips and salsa, which I was told is supposed to be given to every customer when seated. Three stars is representing the food. It would be no stars based on staff and service, and five stars based on food. We'll try again probably because the food is good, but the staff makes you leave there with a bad taste in your mouth. Whoever the chef is doesn't deserve this waitstaff, or maybe just Ronnie. read more

We left hungry, sober and broke. I got a $13 margarita in a little tiny non-margarita glass, which was mostly ice. when I saw what I got for $13 I immediately stopped drinking and then my three tacos came out. $15 for three tiny little tacos with absolutely nothing else on the plate besides the three tacos, not even a lime, so here I am 30 some dollars in and I'm still hungry and I'm done my two sips of margarita. Zero value will not be back when I order a $13 margarita I want a large margarita in a large margarita glass. When I order three tacos for $15 I want some beans and some salsa and a lime. Otherwise I may as well go to Taco Bell for six dollars. Restaurants go out of business so quickly and here's an example of why. read more

I chose the cool area near the neon sign because who doesn't love neon and it was a great area for photos. I chose everything off the HH menu because I love HH! I ordered the Taquitos, chicken quesadillas, and shrimp nachos which was definitely to much to eat alone! Everything was fresh and came out hot and quick! I would recommend this spot to anyone. I'll start off with the positive. The food was excellent. Literally everything we ordered was great. The table side guacamole was very good. I got chimichangas which were amazing. Even my kids like their tacos which is saying something. The only reason I gave Mucho Gusto 3 stars is because of the service. Our waitress was great but it took a very long time for the food to come out. My daughters kids meal was suppose to come with 2 tacos and it only came out with 1. It literally took another 30 minutes for the other taco to come out from the kitchen. At that point we just got it to go but we had already been waiting for about 20 minutes after we were done eating. I would give this place another try. We ended up being seated at the bar and we each tried margaritas. I got the watermelon and my fiancé got mango and they were so tasty. I drive past this restaurant all the time so I decided to drop by for a quick meal on a Sunday afternoon. I was super impressed with the decor and aesthetic - it was vibrant, fun, and modern. It is composed of a large open air area that has a bar and dining room separated by a railing. On one end of the bar, there's is a private dining area with a beautiful accent wall made up of foliage. There is also a private dining room that can be closed off with floor to ceiling glass doors. This is definitely a restaurant that has the space to cater to private events in a fun and intimate setting. They also have an outdoor patio with beautiful murals brightening up the space. There was live music scheduled for later in the day which I wish I was able to stay and see. A great pull back feature for guests to be interested in another visit. The food was also good, I was impressed at how quickly the food came out. The appetizers came out within 10-15 min of ordering and our mains dishes were not far behind after that. I'm always sad when chips and salsa are an extra charge. I wish we got the guacamole starter because they make it right in front of you (as we saw another table get that). The plating was a bit messy for our taquitos appetizer - but it was all eaten so quickly we hardly noticed. On my burrito, there was a drizzle of some type of crema, it tasted like a glorified Mayo which was a bit disappointing, so I used the leftover salsa and sour cream from our chips starter as the extra sauce needed for the burrito. Service was friendly and attentive. I ordered a piña colada which was absolutely delectable. The food and drinks are on the pricier side for the area but it was well worth it because it was tasty food served up to us. Overall, I would come back on another summer day to sit outside, listen to live music, and order some craft cocktails with their appetizers for a chill night out. read more

Love this place! It's the hot new place in town. It is spacious with outdoor seating too. All the staff are very friendly. Food is excellent. Everything that we ordered were delicious. We've tried the guacamole, Elote (grilled corn), Crab cakes, Shrimp with garlic aioli sauce and Churros for dessert. Cocktails are phenomenal. They have the best mixologists in town. Birria quesadilla was mediocre at best and super small for $18 with no sides, the sauce was very bland and salty...definitely wouldn't order those again. Tuna tacos were pretty good but the mahi mahi tacos definitely stole the show they were excellent. If you want birria just go ahead and get the nachos because you'll get about the same amount of birria on top as you do in the tacos/quesadilla. Desserts were also pretty good, we ordered the tres leches cake and brownie sundae which I'd give like an 7.5/10. Drinks were all 10/10 worth the money. All in all probably won't return just based on the amount of food I get for the price just isn't worth it for Mexican. Service and ambiance were great. read more
